This is Nora GilsCarbo’s lot. It’s small, inland, and situated in a lush valley. It used to be inhabited by a premade villager. He got evicted to make way for GilsCarbos. :) It will possibly not be the clan’s permanent home because it’s small. It all depends on how successful Nora is at her ambition to have a ton of kids. Speaking of which...

It took them two tries over two days, but...Mission accomplished! And after that there was...

Post-coital fishing? Well, given Nora’s fishing obsession, this does not surprise me at all. Still can’t figure out Rafael’s fishing spot choice, however. Must be hard to cast a line with all that foliage around...

And then the middle five of the original Horde of Nine became adults, and each of them left the teen lot to found their clan lots. (Well, Anna and Amelia moved out together, of course, since they’re twins and both Brutys, but you know what I mean. :) ) At least this means Rafael doesn’t have to deal with Peter and Zoey...for a few days, anyway. :)

Peter LeTourneau, son of Brandi LeTourneau and Orlando Centowski, teened up and joined his half-brother Eli Centowski on the teen lot. I decided he should let his hair down so that he doesn’t have the same hairstyle as Eli. Not that they look alike or anything, given that Eli has the alien skintone and all, but still...

Anyway, Peter’s straight and...

Ah well, I’ve always said the chemistry thing is kind of garbage, anyway. It’s also fun that Sims can smooch in the water in this game. It’s funny when they noogie each other or make out in the water, though. It’s like they’re trying to drown each other. :)

Just another idyllic day on the teen lot. Elizabeth swims, which doubles as bathing. Nora, naturally, fishes, but this time Amelia joins her because Eli was passed out “off camera” and was therefore unavailable for face-sucking. Alexander and Bradley play a game of catch. Lydia and the rest of the Blonde Squad (Anna and Gabriella), passed out. And Rafael...? Probably gathering bananas, knowing him.

When the first seven of the Horde of Nine aged to teen, I decided to move them to their own lot, mostly because I wanted to be able to focus on them separately as well as focus on their younger siblings, to get to know them. I couldn't do all of that with all of them plus the progenitors plus the younger kids all on one lot, as that meant that there were almost 30 Sims on the lot. So off they went. And when they got to their new spot, they were randomly assigned all of their other characteristics other than their aspirations (which were also randomly-assigned). Most of that info is on the pics above for each of the first seven to move to the new lot. They're in birth order.

The only thing not on their pics is their gender preference. I decided that, since I've got a good number of kids in the first born-in generation, I could afford to allow all preferences, not just straight as with the progenitors. (Because they, of course, needed to breed. A lot. :) ) Preferences were rolled randomly, with a 20%/60%/20% chance of being gay/straight/bi, respectively, which is the distribution I always use. Among these seven, all are straight except Eli, who rolled as bi. Which I'm sure still means that he'll be breeding given that, among his 8 age-mates, six are female. Plus, Bradley's his half-brother, so he's not a possibility, anyway. :) (So's Nora, for that matter, since she has the same pollinator, too.) I imagine Rafael would rebuff him, since he's straight. But maybe not! Who knows?

Anyway, there they are. :)

The “Thank God They’re Not Toddlers Anymore!” Post

All nine of the “Legion of Doom” alien kids, as children, in birth order, along with what I’ve learned about them, if anything, to date. They free-will 100% of the time, unless I get a pop-up about them starving, at which point I nudge them to eat a piece of fruit. I find that you find out about these characters best when you keep your hands off of them. So:

Son of Ben Long, obviously. I’m happy to report that he has The Nose(TM). Other than that, he’s pretty quiet and unassuming, probably because he’s super-shy but super-nice. And also super-active. Mostly he can be found in the company of his age-mate and best bud, Eli Centowski. (They were born a couple of hours apart; the next 5 of the batch were all born the next day, and the last two were born the day after that). Those two seem to especially enjoy telling secrets and giggling like hyenas.

He looks exactly like his mom, Orlando Centowski, only with black hair and (literally) white skin. He even has Orlando’s eyes rather than alien ones. It’s kind of scary, really. He’s like a photo-negative mini-me of Orlando. That’s pretty much where the similarity ends, though. Thankfully. Like his best bud Bradley, he’s super nice, and they’re pretty much joined at the hip. He’s a lot neater than uber-slob Bradley, but they’re running around so much that I’ve never seen him clean up any mess. :)

Brandi’s first-born. He’s a shy one, too, but unlike Bradley Long, he keeps to himself, did so even when he was a toddler in that he was content to play with toys and not interact with anyone. The other kids seem to have at least one other kid that they tend to pair off with to play, but Rafael’s literally the odd kid out. I kind of feel sorry for him. :( He doesn’t even eat right. I constantly get the “skin and bones” warning about him, so I pretty much always have to poke him to eat something, while the other kids seem to feed themselves adequately enough.

Andrea Hogan’s kid. She’s the resident ray of sunshine and she has adorable ears. She has 10 nice points and literally always has a smile on her face. Even though she has 0 outgoing points, she seems to have gone out of her way to befriend or at least socialize with all the other kids...except Rafael, but given that he kind of hides.... Well, what can you do? Her very best buddy, though, is Nora GilsCarbo. (And it’s a good thing she has those ears because otherwise those two are hard to tell apart and they’re always together. :) ) Speaking of Nora...

Goopy’s daughter! :) Don’t let the rather serene look on her face fool you. She, like her mom, is a party on legs. She and Eli are the most playful individuals on the island, with 10 playful points each, but unlike Eli, Nora’s also very outgoing, very nice, and very active so she’s only still and not interacting with someone when she’s passed out. It is very fun watching her and Elizabeth’s antics. Nora’s my favorite of the pack, so far.

Sandy Bruty’s twins, these two stick together like...well, twins. Which is kind of surprising, actually, because they’re opposites in some key ways. Anna has 10 nice points; Amelia only has one. Amelia has 9 playful points; Anna only has 4. Still, they find things to do together -- mostly cops and robbers, which seems to be the most popular game on the island :) -- and enjoy each other’s company while not really interacting with anyone else much. Maybe it’s because they’re both rather lazy, I dunno...

Lydia Tellerman, Komei’s daughter. She was a bit overheated when she aged up. :) Like her mom, she’s mean, mean, mean. Zero nice points. She’s the meanest person on the island, in fact, because even Komei and Marisa, the meanest adults, have 3 nice points each. But Lydia mostly keeps to herself because she’s also dead serious with zero playful points. I have a feeling the noogies and arguing will fly fast and furious from her when she turns teen, though. Even now, she does seem to enjoy squabbling with her drama-queen. attention-whore age-mate Gabriella...

Oh, there she is. (With bonus Andrea passed out behind her. :) ) As a toddler, Gabriella was an attention whore and a drama queen, constantly following around and demanding attention from the adults. She’s still that way and, since she only has 3 nice points like her mom, she’ll use negative methods to get attention if she has to. If someone who is not a baby or toddler is screaming on the island, it’s invariably her. Often, it’s Lydia making her scream. Gabriella’s only saving grace is that she also has the adorable ears that her half-sister Elizabeth has. (The Bruty twins are also half-sisters and may have those ears, too. Can’t tell with the hair they have, though.)

Chemistry among the first seven teens...

Everyone’s got at least one other person that they have chemistry with, but it pretty much boils down to everyone wants Elizabeth and Elizabeth wants everyone. :)

Poor Nora only has one possible prospect, though, given that she’s straight and related to both Bradley and Eli. And the next male teen in line is Alexander, who is also her half-brother, just on Goopy’s side rather than the alien side. But fortunately for her, she doesn’t seem interested in l’amour, anyway. Which is odd given that she’s Romance and not at all shy. Still, she’d rather go fishing. :) Too bad she didn’t get the fishing “LTW” rather than the “Have a crapton of kids” one.

No one ever said Nora was the brightest bulb in the box...but she’s still my favorite of the kids. :)

Mmmm...Probably not the best kid to play that game with, Rafael. I realize that you have...hmm...underdeveloped social skills, but seriously? Don’t punch the girl with zero nice points. It never ends well...

But Cops And Robbers with Nora is a really good idea. See, you’ll get the hang of it, honey.

Rafael LeTourneau: Still all about the banana gathering. Good thing there’s two trees on the lot to keep him occupied. However, he did find a new obsession:

The lot came with a bird cage and a bird. Raf looooooves the bird, plays with it all the time and has already taught it how to talk. He willingly interacts with the bird, but with people? Not so much. 

Raf’s also serious about his career as a hunter:

He’s (ironically) Popularity, but he rolls wants for skill points, so he’s moving right along in his career. And, since he also managed to impregnate Nora GilsCarbo, he’s not completely useless! ;)

For statistics nerds only!

Here’s a recap of the first born-in-game generation on the Castaway island:

The eight original castaways plus the alien pollinators generated 27 kids.

Of those 27, 16 are female and 11 are male. So, there’s a bit of a gender skew, but it’s actually a good skew in terms of repopulation because you need more females than males for that. Especially so in this scenario, where there is no monogamy.

The resulting surname-based clan sizes and male/female ratios are as follows, not including the original townies, although they will move to their assigned clan lots once all of their kids have become teens. (If any of them are still alive by that time, of course.) So:

Long: 2 individuals. 1 male (Bradley, currently an adult) and 1 female (Ariel, currently an infant)

Centowski: 1 individual, male. (Eli, currently an adult)

LeTourneau: 6 individuals. 3 male (Rafael and Peter, currently teens, and Troy, currently an infant) and 3 female (Zoey, currently a teen, Riley, currently a child, and Cadence, currently a toddler).

Hogan: 3 individuals. 1 male (Ty, currently a child) and 2 females (Elizabeth, currently a teen, and Trinity, currently a toddler)

GilsCarbo: 2 individuals. 1 male (Alexander, currently a teen) and 1 female (Nora, currently a teen.)

Bruty: 6 individuals. 1 male (Zion, currently a teen) and 5 females (Amelia and Anna, currently teens, Payton and Jada, currently children, and Bianca, currently an infant.)

Tellerman: 4 individuals. 2 males (Donovan, currently a teen and Wyatt, currently a child) and 2 females (Lydia and Christine, currently teens)

Bendett: 3 individuals. 1 male (Edgar, currently a toddler) and 2 females (Gabriella, currently a teen, and Ellie, currently a child)

Soooooo, given those 5 girls that Sandy had, it looks like the Bruty clan is poised to become the dominant one at least in terms of numbers. And barring Eli Centowski having any alien children, the Centowski clan is essentially extinct. The Long clan I would classify as vulnerable, unless the newborn Ariel turns into a breeding machine and has a good number of girls. I’d put the GilsCarbo clan in the same boat as well except that Nora has an “LTW” to have 10 kids, so she’ll be constantly pregnant once she’s an adult, and I’m hopeful that she’ll have a decent number of girls.

All that said, it’d be really fun to try to take a group photo of the entire cohort, but I’m afraid that large-scale posing with multiple Sims is pretty much impossible in Castaway, given the lack of a moveobjects cheat.

In terms of genetics, I’m concerned about the darker skintones continuing forward. Hopefully those few kids who have S3 and S4 (which is only four or five of the 27 kids) will have lots of kids themselves. I have a feeling, however, that the majority of the population going forward will have the alien skintone. Which isn’t what I planned when I started this, but...Well, shit happens, as they say. :)

All of the eye colors except Andrea Hogan’s green are represented in the first generation, although aside from alien eyes, there is a preponderance of the two shades of blue and only one child with gray eyes. Andrea’s kids do all have a green recessive, so hopefully that trait will be expressed somewhere in the second generation. We’ll see who breeds with whom.

For hair colors, they’re all expressed well except red, as the only red-haired kid is Lydia Tellerman, whose parents are Komei Tellerman and the red-headed PT (She’s the only child of that PT, too), so she has double red genes. She, unfortunately, rolled as gay so she won’t be having any children fathered by any of the playables, but she DOES have an “LTW” to have lots of alien kids. Because of her LTW, at this point either her clan or the LeTourneaus (because of Zoey’s alien abduction “LTW”) will inherit the original lot’s hacked telescope once that lot is closed down, so *fingers crossed* (Then again, if any other alien-related LTWs are rolled by any of the other upcoming teens in other clans, the “pool” for that inheritance will widen.) Of course, Komei’s five other kids with various partners all have recessive red genes, so hopefully they’ll breed with some blond(e)s so that the red might be expressed.

And...I’ll stop babbling. I can’t help it; this is the stuff I love about this game. :)

Alexander GilsCarbo Appreciation Post!

His favorite pastimes:

Telling jokes. They seem to be well-received. Either that, or everyone’s humoring him,

Playing with the little ones. He seems to appreciate them more than his agemates, but that could be because he’s the eldest of the post-Horde kids, so there aren’t yet a lot of agemates, given that he just turned child and the Horde is about to start teening up. (And lookit Orlando!)

Being sexually harassed by toddlers. :) 

Hugging his mom, Goopy. Well, actually, hugging anyone and everyone, but since both Goopy and Alexander seem to be night owls, they tend to interact a lot.

So in short: I’m kind of in love with this kid. Too bad he and Nora are half-siblings or else I’d be rooting for them to have babies. :)
