Since I consider the spoiler statue of limitations over now: It's extremely funny to see that Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night somehow got to a kiss sooner than certified GL banger Sasakoi did. Don't know if that says anything about the absolute state of anything or whatever, but it's very funny nonetheless.

Oh dang it’s been a cool month for music 👀
And y’all know what I do whenever cool music comes out and/or I discover/rediscover cool music? ITS MUSIC RANT TIME
Like, holy shit, Fall Out Boy comes out of the woodworks with Love From The Other Side?! Apologies, even though I am a huge fan of their work, I haven’t been following them too closely recently. Mainly because of of the second entry on this list, so this was a welcome but unexpected surprise. Anyways, this song is a goddamn BOP! It feels like the opening to a banger show or anime, like come ON, you cannot tell me when you hear “Sending my love from the other side of the apocalypse”, you don’t imagine a kickass anime about zombies or something. At least I do. Enough me gushing about it, please listen if you haven’t already!
“Sending my love from the other side of the apocalypse!”
The second entry I have to gush about is literally the entirety of the newest Måneskin album, “RUSH!”. Literally every single song is a certified bop. “BLA BLA BLA” is honestly really fun to karaoke to, “GASOLINE” is such an adrenaline rush, and “GOSSIP” is wayyy too catchy for its own good. But, if I had to pick one song out of the entire album to be my favorite, it would probably be “MARK CHAPMAN”. I love the fast tempo combined with the darker instrumental, it really gets your heart pounding. Please take a listen to the album!
“Si muove a piede libero, Vestito come un incubo, Vuole tu sia in pericolo…”
The final entry I have for this midnight Music Rant is “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus. A bit unexpected, but welcome nonetheless. I love how it’s a reprise of sorts of “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. Though, I think the reason why I cling onto this song so much is because of personal reasons pertaining to a recent incident. I won’t go into detail, but what I’m trying to say is this song feels very refreshing, very liberating. It feels like it came out at the right time for me. The song helps to remind me that it’s alright to be on my own, that I made the right decision, that “I can buy myself flowers, take myself dancing, hold my own hand, and love me better”. Eh, this might be getting too sentimental. In a nutshell, it’s a really nice song that came out at the perfect time. You might not get the same feelings I do, but take a listen anyway!
“I can buy myself flowers, write my name in the sand, talk to myself for hours…”
Thanks for reading! Have a good night!

playlist title prompt: hungover in the city of dust
send me playlist prompts!
Ok I’m going to assume you are the same person who sent the other ask because both this and the other one are lyrics to songs by a band called Autoheart (which I have never heard of before and tbh they're not really my thing sorry). Also I will admit I was fully expecting HP character-related playlists so I kinda struggled with this one. Plus my "city of dust" songs and my "hangover" songs have very little overlap. But I gave it my best shot and I hope you enjoy!
Track list:
Stars - In Our Bedroom After the War: this reminds me a lot of the Autoheart song so I think it's probably the one you'll enjoy most
Dirty Three - Great Waves: this song has such great apocalyptic imagery. Also the vocalist is Chan Marshall from Cat Power who I like a lot
Gazelle Twin - Concrete Mother: I could gush about this song/album forever, it's like if Florence and the Machine started making weird cinematic synth music... ugh. Anyway it's got the "city" (the "concrete mother" in question) and "dust" so I put it on here
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Cannons: again some great apocalyptic imagery going on here
Shilpa Ray - Nocturnal Emissions: Shilpa Ray greatest of all time I'm obsessed with her. This song is about wanting to sleep forever and live in your dreams where you can be as powerful and amazing as you want to be
Beck - Sing It Again: this is more of a hangover song but it's got some descriptions of a dilapidated town/city that I thought were a nice touch
Autoheart - Hungover in the City of Dust: once I figured out that this prompt was a song title, I was like ok so this has to go on here lol
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Cities in Dust: the first song I knew for sure that I was including. Certified 80s banger, shaking ass to the apocalypse vibes.
Anyway I'm sure this is not quite what you expected but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!

am genuinely so peachy about batman v robin like do i care about the magic stuff personally no but i think it’s fun that mark waid is bringing in so many players it really speaks to the fact that he is a certified comic geek who is willing to reach back into history and pull out characters who haven’t been used for years! and on top of it i get banger bruce characterization and banger lines about the ultimate dilemma of him being a parent who craves companionship while nonetheless wanting to let the robins loose bc he can’t claim ownership of their aspirations.. i’m having a ball in this bitch

MLA Fighting Game Themes? (LONG POST! But enjoy...hopefully!)
I haven't a life so i think about shit like this *constantly*. I had to think this over for a full day+ because it was tricky- esp. for Re-Destro!
Okay so if the MLA had char themes-
Tomoyasu: Was the easiest because I knew immediately the song that would fit him hands-down the BEST and it's a freaking BANGER. BlazBlue music is always pretty consistently amazing. Not as great as Guilty Gear music imo, but incredible nonetheless. Daisuke composes beautifully for both series.
youtube
Chitose: She was fun!♡ Had to think a bit for hers but it came down to being Hilda's from Under Night. Her and Hilda chacteristically share some similarities too, so that helped. One of my favorites themes from the game!
youtube
Koku: His was pretty easy because Gordeau came to mind so readily~ 'Rushing Heart' (ha, fitting) tends to be a well-liked theme to Under Night fans and it's no surprise why- it's quite good! One of the stronger themes in an overall very solid OST.
youtube
Geten: Was a bit more difficult, but it ended up coming down to Jin's theme in BlazBlue (2nd iteration). It had enough of the complexity and mystery I wanted to convey whilst still maintaining an ambiance of danger and distance; coldness (heh). I also wanted this one to be special, as there's just so much we don't know about Geten right now aside from like wow yeah, he's particularly personally important to Re-Destro. I wanted the theme I chose to reflect that difference from the others. ...Him and Jin also share the ice element so that's neato lol
youtube
Rikiya: Yayyy, we finally made it~♡
OOF GEEZ, this one was toooouuuugggghhhhhh. His was the reason I actually needed so long to get this post finished (was just sitting in my drafts)! Rikiya being complex is an understatement, and I had to make sure what I chose wasn't one-note. It needed to be strong and stand somewhat separately from the other themes, which is why I wanted to choose a song NOT from Under Night or BlazBlue. Made things much more difficult.
Once I narrowed down the qualities I *needed* the song to have: somewhat jovial, fair amount of tempo shifts, dissonance, and a real sense of class. Tall order.
At first I thought 'In The Shadows' would work but it's another BlazBlue theme, and also outside of the JAMMIN piano parts, wasn't fitting what I wanted. Great song anyways though (check it out at the bottom)!
After some time I went to my darling Guilty Gear, and started thinking of chars and searching through their various char theme iterations and VS themes. GG is very heavy metal, though unique, and I thought I wasn't gonna get enough variance in tone/sound to find anything useful. Eventually I had a freaking brain blast and felt incredibly silly. SLAYER! Not only in him as a character, but Daisuke's musical direction for his themes are EXACTLY what I was looking for. I couldn't believe I didn't think of him sooner. Strong af, goofy, dangerous gentleman. Between his Xrd theme 'Jack-a-Dandy', and his XX theme 'Haven't You Got Eyes In Your Head?', the latter was PERFECT. 'Jack-a-Dandy' was a close runner up, though.
Exactly what I was looking for~ Soundcloud link because no quality upload on YT
'In The Shadows' - Around 16s when the piano really comes in is where folx start wylin out lmao it's a certified BOP.
youtube
#why did i dedicate so much time to this?#my obsession knows no bounds i guess#I REALLY hope we get a PROPER fighting game for BNHA one day and that they're playable characters#No one is gonna read this post :(

The Female Dynamite’s of MUNA drop their first single,“Number One Fan,” since their debut EP, “About U,” in 2017.
It’s been confirmed: the members of MUNA are certified “banger” makers. Their latest release of “Number One Fan” had a lot to live up to with each record on their debut EP being a song you can get down to. You can rest assure that this single is nothing short of a banger.
So it’s been confirmed: the first single MUNA has dropped since their debut EP, is a certified “BOP.” "Number One Fan” has taken a different, and more electronic direction; nonetheless, it still has the MUNA factor that keeps them accumulating fans, and has their already existing fan base wanting more. The “MUNA factor” can be defined as the danceable nostalgic feeling that comes with listening to their records; this is the feeling that never fails to have you moving parts of your body you didn’t know you had.
The standout difference of this track is that it’s a true dance record; it’s significantly faster in tempo than their previous records. On “About U,” the driving force of the songs are the impeccable synth lines, and heavy hitting drum beats as well as the way each line leads into the next.
“Number One Fan” is a dance track for other reasons. The opening bass line, that is the front of the track, being that it’s one of the loudest aspects of the mix, is clean and groovy. The verse melody has a monotone characteristic to it; it’s simplistic. As the song progresses, the melody explores more notes in the octave, and you can slowly feel the song building. When the chorus hits, you.. just.. have.. to.. dance! When speaking of content, this chorus is much more simplistic than what they usually write, yet it’s still relatable. They took their bold synth lines to the front, adding extra ear candy for us to eat up. It’s that good. I’m their Number One Fan.

Migos Culture
Migos is a trap-rap trio from Lawrenceville, GA that went to a high school very close to where I live. I never knew them but it seemed like every year they grew in popularity as singles like “Versace” and “Fight Night” dominated the Atlanta hip-hop radio stations. During this time I met more and more people claiming boastful stories about how they knew them and went out and did X, Y, and Z with the guys. Almost all of these stories seemed fake but nonetheless, I can attest Migos are certified trap legends around the suburbs of Atlanta where I happen to live. It’s suitable really, given their meteoric rise into mainstream prominence and pervasive influence to the ‘culture’ that is accepting, glamorizing, and marketing the ever lucrative art form of trap.
Personally, I never really payed much attention unless it they were forced down my ears. Migos was always just the group that my weed dealer listened to in his garage while he rolled dice and made plays. With Culture, I have no doubt Migos clientele will be more than pleased to spin this one around as they throw dice, sell weed and bang it in their truck when they forget to use their blinker merging lanes.
In fact, I’m impressed this time around too. The lead single and recent #1 chart topper “Bad and Boujee” is a fantastic song, and one of the best singles of the year so far. It could have used less Lil Uzi Vert, but regardless the song is catchy, yet dark and brooding, infused with the flashy infectiousness only a group as charismatic as Migos could provide. It’s just as straightforward as a Metro Boomin produced Migos track gets. The sticky, staccato flows, auto-tune croons, and the hypes which I still find hilarious at times all add a little bit extra charm and texture to songs that are pretty fundamental trap songs; the fundamentality of these songs however, is a blessing and a curse.
DJ Khaled kicks the album off by yelling at you and being annoying because, fuck it. He ruins a song that had a pretty decent hook but thankfully the next track “T-Shirt” is great. The eerie reversed synth in the background sets the stage for Takeoff, Quavo and Offset to do what they do best. The tag team flows and braggadocio continue on “Call Casting” with Zaytoven’s classical piano training paying off once again, despite the ugly organ lead that persists in the mix. “Get Right Withca” and “Slippery” ft Gucci Mane are both pretty great tracks as well. The start-stop refrain on “Get Right Withcha” isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but it’s clever and ear grabbing and it works a lot better than it should. “Slippery” offers the albums best feature verse and my personal favorite hype that repeats quite a bit through the track. (I’m talking about the auto-tuned ‘Scooooooot-Scooooooot’, it’s objectively the best thing about the record).
In spite of all these successes in the first half Migos still finds a way to take a turn for the meandering in the middle and back end. “Big on Big” has a dumb and redundant chorus, as is the chorus on “Deadz” ft 2 Chainz which is a pretty sweet banger otherwise. “All Ass” is exactly what you think it is. There’s nothing really wrong with “Brown Paper Bag” but there’s nothing really memorable about it either (expect when Offset is swimming through cash on the hook and the hype behind him goes *woooosh-woooosh-wooooosh). “Kelly Price” ft Travis Scott is way too long and will give you heavy flashbacks to Birds in the Trap. Really though a lot this is pretty forgivable considering these songs aren’t really bad, they’re just serving a purpose, they do their job and then it’s on to the next one. At least there’s some small amount of focus on the song topics such as “What the Price” a somewhat thoughtful song about drug dealing, although it is little bit too meandering and woozy for it’s own good like most of this latter half of this record.
At the end of the day what are the fans really going to ask for? Personally I would’ve been fine with an album full of “Bad and Boujee” or “T-Shirt” but this really isn’t bad either. If you’re really looking to sink your teeth into some meaty thinking-man’s rap obviously this is going to slip under your radar. However if you’re out here in metro Atlanta trapping out of your parent’s garage, hey dude, this one for you, I think you’re gonna like it. Also, can you front me an 8th?
6.1/10
Top Tier: “T-Shirt”, “Bad and Boujee”, “Slippery”, “Get Right Witcha”, and actually “All Ass” and “Deadz” are pretty good too
Bottom/Annoying and or Boring Tier: “Culture”, “Out Yo Way”, “Kelly Price”
