You wake up in the middle of the night from a bad fever with Taylor next to you. Taylor shows you a loving and caring side you don't see very often.

Everything felt too hot and ice cold at the same time. Your skin was hypersensitive, fluffy sheets scraping it like sandpaper. Freeing yourself was a struggle accompanied with whines and weak kicking at the fabric, anything to ease your suffering even the tiniest bit. As the air hit you nausea took over and when touching your forehead brought back way too much sweat to be normal, you were sure you'd hurl.
Taylor, meanwhile, was perfectly comfortable as she slept. Cozy and dreaming without a care in the world, the blonde was ready to chew you out for ripping the sheets away from her so rudely. "Some of us are trying to rest, you know... Oh-"
It was dark in your shared bedroom, but there was no hiding your uncomfortable squirming- you moved in your sleep sometimes, but never like this. "Hey, what's wrong?"
It was all you could do to groan, frustrated with your fuzzy brain, "Everything hurts..." You expected her to go back to bed. Your girlfriend wasn't cold-hearted, but she was hardly a natural caregiver; that was your role in the relationship. In your time together, Taylor kept busy constantly and that included whenever you fell ill. You could hardly fault her for it; it was rare you ever got this sick and you couldn't think of a time she would've seen you in such a state.
So lost in thought, the cool rag on your head made you jolt upright. "Shhh, it's just me..." A gentle hand guided you back to the bed, letting your heavy head rest against fluffy pillows. The mattress dipped as Taylor sat next to you, securing the washcloth across your forehead before moving to straighten your tangled clothes.
She must've sensed your confusion because Taylor scoffed lightly, "What? I'm not allowed to take care of you now?"
You shrugged just enough for her to see it, cracking your eyes open to commit the sight of Taylor fretting over you to memory. "I didn't say anything."
"You said it with your sick little postures. I'll stop it you want-"
"No!" You had to admit, there was something sweet about the way she was pushing your hair from your face. Her brow was furrowed in worry and you realized she really must be concerned at your sudden illness. "It's probably from standing outside in the rain last night. I'll be fine."
"Oh yeah..." Taylor was good at hiding it most of the time, but she was always scared of something happening to you on her watch. When she entered this relationship, she made a promise to herself to look out for you when she could. You had an awful habit of bending over backwards for her; amazing for her followers who always gush over her considerate girlfriend, terrible for the way Taylor forgot to check in on you.
That night she'd been extremely slow in leaving a new product launch party, a party you weren't feeling up to, but still were kind enough to drop her off and pick her up from. When you'd texted her you were waiting outside, it was pouring rain out, but the crowd of cars made it impossible for her to find the vehicle without you standing next to it. She'd ended up leaving you outside for half an hour and, even drenched and tired, you never once complained when Taylor finally found her way to you.
It was her fault you'd gotten sick and she felt terrible. "Just... let me do this for you, okay? I owe you." Taylor climbed over you to settle against the headboard before shifting your head to rest in her lap. She took a moment to stare down at you, taking in your overheated cheeks and scrunched nose. You could completely blame your fever on her, but you didn't- Taylor owed you much more than this. "Get some rest. I'll be here if you need anything."
This was a completely new side of Taylor, one you were sure you shouldn't get used to seeing. Still, it was sweet to be allowed to see it even just this once. "Do you think... you can make me waffles in the morning?"
Taylor rolled her eyes, leaning in to place a quick kiss on your pouted lips. "You're pushing it. Maybe I'll order some for you when the sun is out."
