 There was a lot Estinien didn’t understand.

 An awful lot, he realized of late. Sundered stars with souls to match, ancients and Ascians and Azems, some bloody nonsense about the moon and Thancred’s new aversion to carrots…

 But the most confusing was      this.     Whatever      this     was.

 Bright eyes that made his chest ache. Painted pink lips that stole his attention and his breath over and over again. Hair like strands of auburn silk draped over ashen skin that begged for his touch. Freckles speckled across a curved nose and round cheeks, more dazzling than the constellations above. A smooth voice he could sink into, a warm laugh to wrap himself in.

 Hands with scars unlike any other—any other than his own, that was. Scales of scarlet deep as wine ridged along their palms, palms that trailed up his chest, fingertips fluttering across his collar to settle far too gently on his skin. (( Read the rest here on Ao3! <3 ))
