Legend of Zelda: Link Quartet Au

Fun fact! When I was little and saw ads for the Four Swords Zelda games; I had no idea that the four Links were suppose to be four parts of an "unfused" Link.

I legit thought: "Oh! These Links must all be brothers! Thats why all four are in on the adventure!"

So now I present thee with: The Link Quartet Au. Or alternatively "Four Swords Required".

Almost every story in the Zelda canon goes as planned - but that some generations of Heroes are born as identical Quadruplets.

I already have a few versions planned out: but at the moment I'll talk about the Quartet Au of Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask.

In the OoT Au: The Quartet are raised separately due to fear of them being found by Ganondorf. Because of the spilt-up none of the Links are raised as Hylians.

Green is raised Kokiri as normal, possibly growing some Skull Kids traits (bark-like patches of skin, some leafy hair etc) due to being in the forest for so long. Deku Tree was like "FYI there's Four of you, meet them at the Castle. Peace". Very playful and optimistic, but gets their worldview challenged by all the shiz happening. Non-verbal - Navi does the talking for them. The one who gets the Ocarina and The Master Sword.

Red is raised with the Gorons in Death Mountain. Basically second-child to Darunia. Like most Gorons is laidback and is a bit of a daredevil. The Gorons have had many a heart-attack seeing Red barrel-roll down the mountainside with not a care in the word. Darunia basically told Red "Take the stupid Ruby and go meet your non-Goron brothers". Covered 100% covered in dirt. Stands in a volcano and says; "Its not THAT hot!". Zero interest in Rupees because; "They taste bad". Uses a Megaton Hammer and bombs as weapons.

Blue is raised communally by the Zora but later gets taken in by the Scientist as a student. Constantly flipping between Feral and Sleeply. Has scaIes and can hold his breath for like Forever. the strongest out of the Quartet; has swimming muscles for days. Claims that Jabu-Jabu told them to seek out the other Links. Uses ranged weapons like the Hookshot and Boomerang. Has been banned from the Fishing Pond for walking into the pond catching fish with his teeth.

Violet is raised Geurdo by their many big sisters and aunts and their Uncle. Wad raised on Geurdo legends and doesn't Know anything about all this Triforce business. Meets the other three when Ganondorf brings them along to Hyrule Castle. Very by-the-book and doesn't "get" Hylian gender norms. Feels the most conflicted going up against Ganondorf. One; because he's family. Two; because "I mean he's kinda right...". Mainly a magic user but dabbles in archery. Epona takes one look at Violet and just gallops over and the two are inseperable.

Shadow Link (if there is one) is a construct of Ganondorf - created both to fight any of the Links, and from the guilt of sealing one of his own kin in the Temple of Time. Starts out as a hollow shell, but attaches itself to the other Links once they arrive in the future. The other four treat Shadow like a fifth brother - albeit a brother who absorbs all light.

Ganondorf is different as well. He was not aware that this generation of Heroes would be 4x the usual amount. He doesn't even suspect Violet of being the Hero of Courage - Violet's a fellow Gerudo after all. When he arrives and Hyrule Castle and bows before the king, ge is shocked to see Violet playing amonst a gaggle of children identical to them. Lots of mixed feelings ahoy!

Theres more if I can brainstorm it. I also have a Wind Waker Quartet au I might ramble about.
