(bringing the wasp total up to four already, *sigh*) I was recommended to use my vacuum to sweep them up instead of spraying raid everywhere. And to be careful of walking barefoot for the next while because if I step on a dead one it might sting my foot. (Dying wasps will often flip upside down in their death throws, leaving them stinger faced up in the death.)

Had to ward off a misinformed lecture from my dad about how I should just walk away from this townhouse because I didn’t negotiate 10k off the purchase price (over a few non-catastrophic ventilation and condensation issues) and I was just like… “Uhhhhh nope 10k is in no way realistic in 2017 in this market at this price point and the work isn’t THAT serious and I already know what contractor I’m going to call if I have to but really I’ve done vast amounts of research on this subject in the span of only two days and I’m 75% sure I could probably fix most of the problems myself and here are all of my sources…”
The minute my dad realized I knew what R-value and moisture barriers and soffit vents were, he kinda paused and I heard him age twenty years as it dawned on him that his adult kid is actually ready for some level of homeownership.
He called back about 30 minutes later to tell me how right I was and now he’s excited to do some remodeling with me.
