has someone who's read the Warriors books more recently than me give me a refresher on crowfeather's storyline? i'd like to enter him in the "epic divorce man (gender neutral)" competition. on the grounds that he caused problems for himself by never letting the relationship go, even though the divorce was what he wanted AND he had a new wife and child. but it has been a long time since i read warriors, and i havent read any books past the omen of the stars arc, so im fuzzy on the details. like, i forget if breaking things off with leafpool was his idea or a mutual decision? details like that.

Michelle won in 2023, lily was nomimated this yr bt lost to Emma stone. I liked Emmas performance bt i wish Lily wuldv won. Emma already won a Oscar for La La Land and i agree, it wuldv been great to see a Native person win, shes a great actress
You're right Anon!! 🤦🏾‍♀️
I was getting my Oscar ceremonies mixed up rofl 🤣
Yes, you're right, Lily Gladstone was nominated with Emma Stone this year. Yea, while I hear that Emma definitely deserved her win for "Poor Things", like you said, Emma already won for LaLa Land years ago.
Plus, Emma has way more opportunities as a white actress to get really decent roles in Hollywood that would garner her another Oscar nod in the future, than Lily Gladstone has as an indigenous woman and actress. 😔
I was really rooting for Lily, even though I love Emma, and it would have been nice to see history being made, but alas..... 🤷🏾‍♀️

Hi Sky, I don't know if this is a question, a thought or a mixture, you decide, but here I go, also English is not my native language so I'm sorry if I don't use the words correctly or you don't understand what I mean
On the day of the BBA nominations, the Jjks complained that 7 was nominated in the Kpop category and not in the general category, arguing that both lyrics, producers, etc. were in English and therefore made more sense, from what I heard and I read these days that I know that the BBA uses different data that gives points (please correct me if I'm wrong)
Therefore, 7, not being nominated, would mean that It did not reach those points, which brings me to the next point
I get the impression that since its launch, the fandom in general measured the success of 7 only based on the streams which is not fair given everything that surrounded it in terms of promotion, radio play, etc., we also know that the only reason being a 7 was to position Jk as the outstanding soloist especially in the US, so not being nominated in the general category could serve as a way to measure success in the US? Why, in that case, the winner would be LC
I also know, in case anyone asks, that LC has more time, but without forgetting that it has not been restocked since the first week, while 7 have been restocked even before the end of that first week
so do you think that 7 not being nominated means that in the end it did not make it into the GP despite all the effort and money behind it or that the industry will always treat people from outside as a separate category, although in this Is everything thinking from a US market point of view?
woo, I'm sorry for this essay and if you read the whole thing and give me your opinion or point of view I would appreciate it, thank you
Hi anon,
So I'm not an expert at these things but this is what I understand:
We view these kpop categories as somewhat xenophobic but, in reality, they are giving kpop a chance. If it wasn't for these categories, all these kpop artists wouldn't have been nominated. Only Jimin would have been nomimated for Top Selling Song and that's with the fact that it never got its cd restocked like Seven did.
Like you mentioned, BBMAs are based on chart points during tracking period. Jk was simply released too late into the tracking period to be able to compete with songs that had been accumulating points since January and February.
People also failed to recognize that BBMA focuses on each version of a song. Each song has its own points so Seven having a lot of versions didn't help as the streaming and buying has to be divided into all the versions and Like Crazy having 2 versions helped because people focused only on those 2 versions.
In this case, I don't feel like the BBMAs are treating kpop as outside people. I think they gave kpop a chance and it increases their viewing numbers, which is probably what they like the most.
Leaving the charts aside, I think that Seven is not as popular as people think it is. It's hard to know that considering all the resources that were used to push the song and because army is a fandom that will hype anything just for records. But this is just my opinion.
Awards seem to always be unfair when they are based on nominations coming from the labels or fans, but since these awards are actually data driven, I think it shows organic success for Like Crazy despite not being playlisted, being separated on Spotify, a bunch of weird problems with Spotify, not having radio play, not getting promo in the US despite having an English version of Like Crazy, and no restocking of cds.
Hope this answers your question!

009.1 Daritai
Tumblr media
In the respite that the Sagahl van has for themselves, Nomin learns some more about the desert that borders along the Sea of Blades -- about how to slake her thirst to prevent herself from succumbing to dehydration. Amidst the teachings, Daritai proposes something of import. Something that will help shape Nomin as she ventures ever onward to becoming a proper child of the Steppe.
Word Count: 1,600
Steppe by Steppe Chapter List
Tumblr media
Morning was quickly giving way to the hot afternoon that was common out in the Retreat. Daritai was busy getting his belongings straightened out before he took care of getting his protective gear on to shield him from the sun. As he was taming his hair to get shoved underneath the hat upon his head, he walked away from the temporary shelter they made from the cloths and poles that were packed onto the wain for longer trips.
“You see this shrub? We call it the desert’s blessing. We take this and squeeze it to release the water it contains…” Daritai overheard Esenaij informing Nomin. Their canteens were nowhere close to running dry thanks to the generosity of the Dataq, but Esenaij used this opportunity in their rest to educate Nomin once the shrub was found.
Daritai looked over his shoulder to see Esenaij take out a knife to cut branches from a shrub they found. At this point, they had been on their third sun within the Retreat since leaving the Dotharl Khaa. Normally, Bayarmaa and Barghujin were the ones to help Nomim with any studies or new things to learn, but it was heartening to see Esenaij being the one taking up the mantle that day.
Walking over, Daritai took his own knife to cut himself one of the branches after inspecting the plumpness of them. Though it seemed Esenaij shot him a glare, Daritai shrugged it off and showed his branch to Nomin. There were a couple tugriks of additional notes he could bring to light.
“You should also always make sure the branches are swollen. Their bark will give under pressure of your fingertips when you squeeze, meaning it has gathered an abundance of water,” Daritai noted. He then held the branch up and over his mouth to demonstrate as he clenched his fingers around it tightly. A small stream of water trickled down into his mouth.
“That’s a lot of water!” Nomin exclaimed, surprised by how the water released from the spongy bark of the desert’s blessing.
Esenaij gave a small ‘hmph’ before he cut off a different branch that was plenty plump and handed it to Nomin. “Here. Sup from upon this while we're here. The longer we can keep the water the Dataq gifted us from running dry, the better. If it starts to run dry, clench it between your teeth to draw out the remaining water -- just not so hard you damage yourself.”
Running a hand across his mouth to rid it of lingering moisture, Daritai leaned down and showed Nomin more of the branch. The inside of the branch was porous and glistening in the desert sun with lingering moisture. He pointed out to it while Nomin suckled upon the branch that had been given to her.
“It kind of tastes like squash…” Nomin observed as she supped upon the water. “Sweet, too. But then also bitter…like woodsmoke.”
“The branches are far from being as refreshing as the water from the Dotharl Khaa, the water we gather from the Tao Khaal, or even the rain water we have,” Daritai said with a gentle chuckle to his words. “But thanks to how the blessing grows and retains water in its spongy flesh, one of these can save and satiate you for a time. Were we out of water, this little cluster would likely sustain us until we reached the Sagahl Iloh. So long as we showed restraint and didn't sup upon their bounty so greedily, that is.”
While Esenaij bit down and drank from the branch he cut for himself, he sat, allowing Daritai to take over and educate Nomin. All the while, Daritai seemed to have brightened up a bit as he helped to teach Nomin more about the shrub and even took the time to answer her questions and concerns. There was this sense of fondness in the moment -- surrounded by friends and having a sense of peace and safety.
For a moment, the interaction brought Daritai back to his youth alongside those that were with him now. A pensive expression found its way upon him as he sat in contemplative silence.
Safety…
He supposed he should have been thankful.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Must we settle so close to Nhaama’s Retreat?” Daritai whined. He was a boy of ten and three summers. Old enough to have learned the art of the spear and bow. He was eager to prove himself capable. “We should just fight the Chaghan and resume our normal migration!”
“Some things, my son, cannot always go the same as we have made them nor remember,” Daritai's father spoke, whittling away some kindling from a piece of wood for their fire. “The Chaghan are too much a threat to our way of life, especially when overcome by their Will of Karash that blasphemes the Duskmother before all who bear witness.”
“... It's not fair that they can just use their Will of Karash to lay waste to the land and the people upon it in the name of Nhaama…” Daritai pouted. “You told me that I should not only use the tools you have taught me the ways of to hunt, but to fight and protect that which is dear to me as well. How come we flee with our tails between our legs?”
“It doesn't behoove us to engage in such pointless slaughter. True that we fight hunt so that we may sustain ourselves with bounty given to us by the vilekin, or to protect ourselves, truer still is it that we must know when we are outmatched, or must flee to live another day.”
Daritai sat there for a long moment, mulling over the words his father told him. Humming lowly in thought, he got up. Choosing the path of maturity rather than the desire to remain stubborn, he sighed. “You’ve given me something to think over, Father. Thank you for your wisdom.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Nomin, have you ever been taught to shoot a bow?” Daritai asked, pulling the desert’s blessing branch from between his lips.
Nomin shook her head. Her inquisitive look soon brightened with interest as she stood up, and her tail flicked upward with excitement. “Are you gonna teach me how to use one?”
Daritai gave a slow shrug, his attention going from Nomin to Esenaij briefly. He was gauging Esenaij’s response -- after all, the girl was in his care for the most part. The news of Esenaij being the one to take Nomin in at first had not gone unnoticed by many of the other Sagahli members within the tribe. It was queer at best, especially given his and Bayarmaa’s recent history. Not to mention Esenaij’s general stoic and distant disposition ever since their mother had passed away summers ago at this point.
Of course, the girl was no slouch either, it seemed. Once Daritai’s attention had gone from Nomin to Esenaij, she turned to face him as well. Nomin’s attention was sharp enough that she caught Daritai’s momentary shift in gaze. She seemed determined, a bright look in her eye, and an excited wiggle to her tail as she looked up at her adoptive older brother.
“Esenaij, can I? Bayarmaa’s been teaching me how to handle my knife since we’ve been on this journey! But I’d like to learn how to use a bow, too!” Nomin eagerly stated. The excitable bounce was more than visible as she danced from foot to foot, smiling at the prospect.
A strained, irritable sigh left Esenaij’s nose, and he soon pursed his lips tightly. Daritai knew that expression; it was the common response whenever he lacked the desire to allow whatever was being brought up for consideration. Esenaij did it a lot when they were younger -- whenever Bayarmaa was pushing him to let her do things.
“She won’t be a child forever,” Daritai weighed in. “You know as well as I do that at least four summer ago, were she of the Sagahl already, she would have been taught how to use a bow. The fact that she doesn’t know even the basics right now puts her at a disadvantage with others her age.”
“... In that, you are not wrong…” Esenaij replied. He looked down at Nomin, his expression hardened as it ever was. “Though I will assume the responsibility of teaching you the art of the bow complete with arrows when we’ve returned to the Sagahl Iloh. I’d prefer you to have a more controlled environment so that you don’t end up shooting something you’re not meant to -- not to mention, it would be irresponsible to just let you shoot at anything and potentially break our arrows. Wood is precious pending where we migrate. Having them break due to training just wastes our resources.”
Daritai snorted, bringing the branch he had back to his lips and drawing the leftover moisture from it before he spoke up again; “she is your responsibility, after all. Though I don’t imagine you’d object to me at least teaching her how to string a bow and drawing it?”
“Do as you will in that regard…” Esenaij waved a somewhat dismissive hand at the inquiry.
Unlike Esenaij, however, Nomin turned to Daritai with that same bright expression, glee evident in her every movement as she pumped her fists. The sight was enough to make Daritai chuckle. In some ways, Nomin reminded him of a younger Bayarmaa, if only a little.
“When can we start, Mister Daritai!?” Nomin was more than enthusiastic about the prospect.
“Right now. Since we’re not moving…” Daritai pushed himself back up into a standing position. “I can show you what I know.”

NETFLIX WHAAATTTT!!!
If you don't know, Netflix has recently released the OSCAR AWARD NOMIMATED MOVIE Nimona on YouTube. I say Netflix is so based for this but I do wonder why they did this I mean, I know so many people who brought Netflix just to see this movie and they probably got so much money from that movie so I'm a little suspicious but STILL. If you haven't seen Nimona yet there isn't an excuse anymore. This movie is my and many others favorites so I'd would suggest this movie to literally ANYONE.

777-FILM Moviefone
1990
“Hello! And welcome to Moviefone!” -Russ Leatherman, ‘Mr. Moviefone’
[In-movie theater commercial]
Sound effect: telephone busy signal
Announcer:   There one phone number for movie       showtime information that’s never busy.   Find out where and when it’s playing.   Call 777-FILM.   When all that matters is the movie.
Before there was a consumer internet, getting to the movies was a pain. Even figuring out whether a particular movie was playing in a given week at what theater required a logistic enterprise. It usually involved getting a local newspaper and sifting through columns of “listings” to figure out what showtimes were. You couldn’t be sure if there were tickets available and whether or not there were a few next to each other. Or whether they were in the front or back rows, and squeezed you in the middle of a long row. Heaven forbid, if you lived in a city with dozens of movie houses.
Enter entrepreneur, innovator and filmmaker Andrew Jarecki. Partnering with the original conceptualizer Russ Leatherman, they founded Moviefone to solve the problem. Just dial 777-FILM and life got easier. Now you could immediately know what movies were playing where, at what time, and whether there were ticket available. Voilà!
We met Andrew through our friends at Charlex and signed on as Moviefone’s first agency. Together, we quickly came up with several spots that would play in their partnered theaters and starting running them in New York and Los Angeles.
Lo and behold! Moviefone was ringing off the hook, maximizing theater –and Moviefone!– profits. Soon, Andrew had figured out how to use call volume to predict ticket demand, which allowed  film producers to target their advertising to optimum effect, and of course, more success for all!
The company was acquired by AOL at the height of the first internet craze. Andrew went on to become an Academy Award nomimated filmmaker (“Capturing the Friedmans”) and produce and direct “The Jinx” for HBO and “Catfish” for MTV. ….. Actors: Albie Hecht & Paula Brinkman Director: Albie Hecht Producer: Chris Strand Production: Chauncey Street Productions Agency: Fred/Alan

I remember that year when the weekend wasn't nominated and I was pissed because how come that piece of art didn't get a single nomimation but Justin Bieber's album ( there was a song like yummy 😑 ) there was ??! Like WTF?!
YUPPPP. An insult to the music art form everywhere. AFTER HOURS got me through the pandemic. I listened to it everyday on repeat. I believe, that year, I was in the top 0.05% of listeners according to Spotify wrapped haha. The way that the music videos built on one another, then he took the character off screen when he wore that costume to the Super Bowl. Invested his own money into building the stage so they can do social distancing….i mean, The Weeknd is known for that sort of thing but he perfected it during that period /for that album. And the Grammys? Not a single nomination. But Mr “yummy yummy” gets recognition for sounding like a toddler while also objectifying his partner. Like Grammys….. say you’re racist, bro. We already see it anyway.
Anyways yeah lmao these awards are just rich people circle jerking each other. They ceased to have meaning a long time ago.

Hypothetically, when Raimundo was promoted to Shoku Warrior, who do you think would have been his de facto second-in-command within the group? His, for all intents and purposes, right-hand monk? Come to think of it, what would be his new responsibilities as the Shoku Warrior?
I don't think the group would turn automatically have a set lieutenant.
(But tdlr; Master Fung, I guess?)
Especially not since the finale narrative seems to argue that it sort of considers Kimiko and Clay unreasonably incompetent in spite of their pre-season 3 strengths (the story implying that those two would absolutely screw everything up if they were given any amount of power and need to cede all their authority before anything even starts to get better is still so weird...), and Omi still reasonably has a long way to go and several open threads that the finale didn't tie. Kimiko, Omi, and Clay are all still nomimally equals.
If the way they were in the finale sticks, then all three of them need to... not make any decisions going forward?
Tumblr media
I think I was chosen as leader? I guess I didn’t do a very good job... Sorry. (Immediately followed by none of her teammates or the story itself disagreeing with that, and then taking away her de facto position as leader without her reacting to it in any way. It relies on Kimiko being uncharacteristically passive and defeatist all of a sudden.)
Tumblr media
Well, despite a few setbacks, I think we have done pretty well for ourselves. We’re growing the tastiest corn this side of Houston. (Immediately followed by Clay being berated for not having the team do something else, and then taking away his de facto position as leader without him reacting to it in any way. It relies on Clay being uncharacteristically oblivious and obtuse all of a sudden.)
Their portrayals in most of the final season imply they just shouldn't be allowed to, that it'd be like giving a small child a bucket of mud and a box of crayons in a clean white room. It really wants to say that Clay and Kimiko are... directionless and dumb? They are apparently better just following orders.
After so thoroughly eviscerating their intelligence and ability as leaders or even just as warriors at all, I can’t see that story suddenly elevating them to a even second-in-command role.
But as long as their usual personalities return, they'll alternate between being the brains and brawns that are necessary to solve their daily problems like they have been doing already. So the "de facto" second-in-command would be Kimiko, Clay, Omi, Dojo, or in rare occasions Jack, depending on the episode, just like it has been before. Clay still has his extremely creative, out-of-the-box way of problem solving (plus has areas of expertise like animals), Kimiko's still an excellent detective and the one most willing to tackle things head on (plus the most technically minded), Omi still has the best grasp of the basics and a lot of fluidity but also a lot of sympathy for reaching out to certain people and wiggling into tight spots, Dojo steps up to the plate in certain times of crisis, and Jack is usually instrumental in keep things above water when one of the other villains is currently ruling the world, and even if none of them can lead, they should still all get to do those roles.
Plus, it's still a four-person group. Elevating exactly half its members to a higher status would throw off its balance even more than it already is and imply there's a full 1st, 2nd, 3rd, last ranking system, which is terrible for morale and performance. It'd work in a full army, like Chase's jungle cats or Jack's robots, but a group that small would probably fall apart from it. It'd give the two competing for dead last little reason to want to help each other and gradual resentment towards the whole thing.
If there's a de facto second-in-command, I'd assume it'd be Master Fung himself. He'd still be there as the head of the temple and the in charge of their lessons, he'd just actively defer to Raimundo to make more decisions and would trust him enough to not feel the need to force input for them.
I assume as leader, Raimundo is in charge of setting their mission plans and getting first call and final say in things. He'd be in charge of tactics and decide things like who takes points, who puts themselves in harms way, etc. He probably gets some say in Fung's lessons plans, too.

Ive seen pics of her/Jacob at the Prisicilla after party and her posing seperatley at this GQ party that Jacob was at, so shes definetley invited to his events bt shes just in the background (probably the way he likes it 🙄)
