THANK YOU FOR ASKING! I just did one earlier about Karina so here’s my next love, Briar! ♡ - She lost her mother at a young age leaving just her and her father to travel the world looking into scientific anomalies. He was usually hard at work with Operation Deadbolt and she was usually socializing with the locals, understanding and getting involved in the surrounding culture! - She loves photography and taking pictures of people, she then likes to use these as references for art! It’s how she spends her time while her father is working. - She was likely homeschooled! Specifically by her father and her father’s colleague! Briar was probably very close to Dr. Veena Krishna who was the closest thing she had to a mother! - Briar was born to American parents who happened to be traveling when she was born. She does not necessarily sound American but her accent is somewhat closer to a north western, as her father was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and his accent has just naturally influenced her own. - Makarov eventually takes an interest in her at some point causing strife between himself and Nolan. This is where she feels caged as everything she does is about her and her father’s survival. - On a totally different note her first name might change! I just haven’t settled on anything else yet LOL

what’s the best thing about shipping for you?

It's strange really, you'd think it would be the romance, hell you'd think I'd love romance novels and such but actually adventure is where my heart lies and movies it's always been about fantasy adventure. What I love about shipping though is the journey. I love the different ways people fall in love with each other and I've rped quite a lot of them. I love going into interactions adamant about not shipping and then it just happens naturally. I think all the ships I've loved the most though have been the unexpected ones, ones I never could have seen coming in a million years. I just love writing people falling in love, I don't know why. I suppose it's an adventure of it's own in a way. Also at heart I'm a real big believer in the love conquers all thing.

6. do you have any ship bias with your muse?

TBH, I think with Maria it's absolutely one thing I've learnt not to have. She has certain tastes, and things she generally doesn't find attractive - like she'd never fall in love with anyone younger than her. But some of the ships she's had in the past have honestly just surprised me so much that I gave up any kind of bias pretty quickly I would say. I also feel with shipping it very much comes down to chemistry so there's no character (that fit her criteria) that I could see myself being like ABSOLUTELY NOT about. That being said Maria is definitely a lot more attracted to more dominant/domineering male characters. If they have the energy that they could take charge she'll be doing the 0.0 eyes.

7. what do you think about OC x canon ships? would you play any?

I play an OC so it would be pretty strange of me not to play them! I adore OC x Canon ships though and I've always written/read fanfic of them.

15. what’s your OTP when it comes to your muse?

God I have several. Multiship means they all have their own verses and such so it makes the OTP thing a bit less complicated. That being said here are some of my favourite ships pre 2017, that I wrote for Maria (half of these blogs are deleted/inactive now - with the exception of admiralchristopherpike). Maria x Pike (AOS) - Maria x Spock (AOS) - Maria x Bones (AOS) - Maria x Scotty (AOS) - Maria x Jim Gordon (Nolan) - Maria x Alfred (Gotham) - Maria x Andy Bernard (The Office) - Maria x Sherlock (BBC) - Maria x Bruce Banner (MCU) - There was also a gorgeous OC called Sam and that was an adorable ship but I forget the full name!

20. is there a ship you wanted to play, but couldn’t yet?

I've written a lot of fanfic in my days and generally speaking, I've tended towards pairing Maria with obscure characters or characters who rarely seemed to get RP'd so I often just write the fanfic. There are ships that I ponder on, that seem like they could be fun for Maria but honestly in the end it all comes down to chemistry and portrayal.

23. have you ever been pushed to ship something?

Yes, twice - once on Maria the first time, I was so new to rping too I just sort of pushed past my own discomfort. Then once on Tauriel which I gave a hard pass too and was stalked b/c of it. I may have had it on male muses once or twice but I don't really remember.

27. did you ever play a wedding?

Yes a few times actually! Pike and Maria, pretty sure Bruce and Maria were married, pretty sure Andy and Maria were definitely married. Then Briar and Scotty got married which was adorable, we turned that into like an event for our little rp circle.

33. what’s the first ship you played?

The timelines getting a bit jumbled in my head and I know that before this there were a few because I think I was part of a OUAT rp group but the first real one I think was Maria x Bruce Banner.

38. how easily does your muse get crushes?

Stupidly easily, if something even resembles a meet cute she's probably crushing. If someone just says something that catches her attention the right way and makes her look at them in a certain light, she'll catch a crush.

39. does your muse have a celebrity crush?

Alan Grant from Jurassic Park - the movie - so I suppose Sam Neill. Also though Jim Dale from the Carry On Films, Harrison Ford, Cary Grant, Gene Kelly, Sean Connery (The Rock/Entrapment/LoXG) and of course Colin Firth!

REGINA

Naturally, Storybrooke being what it was, all exciting news, gossip and potential scandal travelled fast, and Zelena’s unwanted appearance at Ariel’s party was all anyone in the Storybrooke social media sphere could talk about. 

Regina put her phone down with a sigh, deciding that a break from Twitter and Facebook was probably a good idea for a while. Ariel and Eric had had the right idea with opting out altogether and taking the boat south for a while. Too much drama made life hell, although Regina enjoyed her share of it in small doses.

 Right now, she had to focus her energy on Victoria Belfrey, who seemed determined to remodel the entirety of Storybrooke on a large scale and turn it into some kind of Stepfordian Belfreyville. Regina had gone through pretty much every inch of the town charter and all the local by-laws, but it seemed that Victoria and Fiona were always one step ahead of her, and she was now at the stage of hoping for a miracle to prevent this new development from going ahead.

There was a knock at the front door and Regina peered out of her study window to check for green sports cars in the drive. She had not spoken to Zelena since Ariel’s party; she’d ignored her calls and was refusing to respond to her texts. Considering how much her sister had embarrassed her that evening, she’d thought that Zelena would have taken the hint, but no.

The drive was empty, and since Zelena never walked anywhere if she could take the opportunity to flaunt her latest vehicular acquisition, Regina thought that she was safe to open the door. It seemed ridiculous, hiding from her sister like this, but Regina simply didn’t have the energy for a confrontation on top of everything that was happening at work.

Robyn was standing on the doorstep, her huge hiking backpack slung over her shoulders and her cheeks red and stained with recent tears.

“Can I stay with you and Dad for a while, Aunt Gina? Please?”

“Of course, honey. Whatever’s the matter?”

Robyn dropped her backpack in the hall and accepted Regina’s hug.

“Mom,” she grumbled. “We had another fight. God, she’s so embarrassing.”

“You’re telling me. Come on, I’ll make you some cocoa.”

“It’s the middle of summer, Aunt Gina.”

“That doesn’t mean you can’t need cocoa to make everything better. Besides, it’s overcast today.”

Robyn gave a weak laugh and followed Regina through to the kitchen, where all the paperwork for the Belfrey development was spread out on the table. Robyn looked at it with interest.

“That’s not even the half of it,” Regina said. “Most of it is out in my office but I ran out of room and I had to overspill.”

“This is terrible. They can’t build on the old playground site. I know it’s not safe as a play area anymore, but it’s so overgrown with wildflowers and plants; it’s gone back to nature. I’ve seen baby deer there, and rabbits by the dozen.”

“I know. I’m doing my best to block it but I’m running out of options.”

“Tilly and I could help when she comes up next week,” Robyn said. “We’re not doing much else this summer. Apart from college applications,” she added hastily on seeing Regina’s pointed look. “And if you think about it, this would look really good on my application. Organising a petition and protests against a new development, trying to protect a site of natural beauty.”

“All right, I’ll give you that.” Regina cleared the papers to one end of the table and brought the cocoa over. “So, what’s my sister done now?”

“Ugh, all this business with Ariel’s party.” Robyn sighed. “It’s all she’s been able to talk about for the last two days and I just got so sick of it, so I said that maybe if she was nicer to Ariel and her friends in the first place, then she’d actually get invited to these things of her own accord. I mean, no-one’s going to invite you to a party when you spend half your time insulting the other guests. I know how close Ariel and Belle are, and Mom’s never been kind to Belle. Anyway, I said that no-one owes her respect and invitations, and everything just escalated from there until I couldn’t stand to be in the same house as her.” She took a huge gulp of cocoa and nearly choked on it. “Has she always been like this?”

Regina nodded. “I think it comes in part from our childhood. She’d always been an only child until she got a younger stepsister in the form of yours truly. Neither of us were great at sharing. Coming to think of it, we were both pretty bratty whilst her father was still alive and married to my mother. But anyway, she was obsessed with fairness and making sure that she and I were treated exactly the same. I think maybe that’s carried over into adulthood. She just wants whatever I have, for the simple reason that I have it and she doesn’t.”

“Must have made life difficult when you and Dad got together.”

“Yeah.” Regina had never intended to end up marrying the man that her stepsister had previously had a daughter with, but life was strange and apparently her family was even stranger.

Robyn returned her attention to the Belfrey plans with renewed interest. Regina had to admit that she did have a point; maybe it was time to start looking to the local community for help in this affair. Hopefully Belle would be able to help on that score.

MARY MARGARET

“It’s been nearly a week. Can’t people find anything else to talk about?”

Mary Margaret sighed as she wheeled Neal’s stroller into the Mother and Baby group. It was always the place to come for gossip among the Storybrooke elite, but today the only gossip was Ariel’s party. Ashley Herman was at the centre of it all, which was to be expected. Ashley knew so much about everyone else’s lives that Mary Margaret wondered if she’d installed spy cameras in her neighbours’ houses. It was a shame that she’d become so catty of recent years; hers was a true Cinderella story and it would have been very romantic had Ashley not decided that she needed to retain her place in society by throwing as many of the fellow women under the bus as possible.

Mary Margaret unstrapped Neal from the stroller and carried him over to the gaggle of wives to accept a much-needed cup of tea, and she tried to change the subject to the Belfrey development.

Ashley sniffed emphatically. “I heard that Cameron Gold is trying to stop it because he buried his first wife under the play area and he’s afraid that she’ll be discovered if it’s dug up for new building.”

Mary Margaret immediately regretted changing the subject.

“The first Mrs Gold lives in Los Angeles with her new partner,” she said, as patiently as she could possibly muster. “Bae spends Thanksgiving and spring break with her. She is not buried anywhere.”

Ashley looked rather put out by this correction and steered conversation back to Ariel. Mary Margaret took a sip of tea to fortify herself and looked around the room. There were a couple of new faces since the last time she’d come to the group, two ladies with a chubby little one in a stroller, standing to one side in a corner of the room looking rather lost. No-one was making any effort to include them in the conversation groups going on, and Mary Margaret knew exactly why. A little smile crept over her face. Time to give everyone something else to talk about.

“Who are the new arrivals?” she asked, cutting Ashley off mid-flow.

“Aurora and Mulan Briar, and I believe that the child is called Philip. They were here last week, too.”

“And we’re not talking to them because…”

“I would have thought that was obvious.” Ashley sniffed again, and Mary Margaret almost asked her if she was coming down with a cold.

“Oh, so you’re not talking to them because they’re lesbians? Good to know.” Mary Margaret grinned. “Do excuse me, ladies.”

If there was one thing that Mary Margaret had to her advantage among all the Storybrooke housewives at the Mother and Baby group, one privilege that she could definitely use to the benefit of those deemed to be outsiders, it was money. She was easily worth more than anyone else in the room, and her wealth garnered more respect because it was hers alone and not gained through her husband. In this place, money talked. Ashley might be the head of the group and the gossip Queen Bee, but it was Mary Margaret who set the tone. No-one wanted to lose association with that kind of money.

She went over to Aurora and Mulan.

“Hello, ladies. I don’t think we’ve met before. Mary Margaret Nolan, and this is Neal. Who’s this gorgeous little one?”

The transformation on Aurora’s face was immediate and wonderful, breaking out into a genuine smile as she unstrapped her baby from the stroller and brought him over to meet Mary Margaret.

“This is Philip. I’m Rory, by the way, and this is my wife Mulan.”

“Pleased to meet you both. Have you been in Storybrooke long?”

“No, just a few months. We moved just before Philip was born; we were in Boston before. We didn’t want him to grow up in a big city, you know.”

“Not that Storybrooke seems too different in terms of social niceties,” Mulan muttered. She was holding Rory’s hand tightly, almost defiantly.

“There are bitches wherever you go,” Mary Margaret agreed. Maybe before she’d become a mother and she’d still been young and idealistic about the world, she would never have dreamed of maligning her fellow women in such a way, but the more she saw of the society she inhabited, the more she began to despair.

The next half an hour was taken up with discussing the babies and culminated with Mary Margaret inviting the two new mothers over to her place for coffee later in the week. She gave the gobsmacked Ashley a cheery wave across the room. She was not normally a spiteful person and she did try to see the good in everyone, but there was a limit even to her pleasantries, and Ashley’s expression would remain with her and cause a smile for a long time to come.

“Thanks for rescuing us in there,” Mulan said as they left the group and began to make their way towards their respective homes. “I was beginning to regret going. I mean, it would have been ok if Rory had gone on her own. No-one would have cared then.”

“I wanted you to be there,” Rory said firmly. “I’m not going to pretend that I’m not married to a woman just to be accepted into society. And you’re every inch as much Philip’s mother as I am. I just happened to be the one who gave birth to him.”

Mary Margaret was certain that she was going to end up very good friends with Mulan and Aurora Briar.

WIP WEDNESDAY

Tagged by: @cloudofbutterflies92 ! Thank you so much once again for tagging me!! Today I share some Nolan and Briar, because I am feeling entirely too sappy today.

With a soft intake of air Nolan caught chestnut hair between his fingers, the smell of roses filling his lungs as he closed his eyes to savor her closeness in the depth of one final hug. He hated it, hated every second of it, but he knew it would have come to this in the end. Fingers floated upward and touched his cheek. They were soft, tender even, against the roughness of his skin and with his own hand he kept the feeling there. Off in the distance the Aether rift glimmered like a sick putrid thing, high above them hanging like death. But if he had closed his eyes to the darkness around them it might almost have felt like heaven. “You’ll be fine,” he muttered, his tone tough but reassuring as he bit back at his own fear of letting her go. “Just get on the helicopter and get out of here.” Honey brown eyes glittered with tears as they flitted up towards his blue ones. Pink lips parted for words that didn’t come out, instead only a soft shake of her head replaced the silence as she couldn’t bear to say any words. She refused to accept this as her final time with him, this couldn’t be the last time. Instead the sound of men shouting from above urging for the two to hurry filled the air. They had little time, you see, as the mansion was starting to crumble from the final attack, all that had remained was the landing pad. “You’ll be fine, Briar, I promise. Now go, before it’s too late.” He said then as he urged her closer to the rope, the carbine fastened to her waist in the matter of seconds. “It’s not me that I’m worried about, it never has been.” she said with a cry, cheeks streaked with warm tears. She was tender for a world that lacked it, perhaps even too soft, but that’s what he loved about her. There was no other words to be had and instead he lent down and placed his lips to hers, Briar kissing back just as fervently as they met. He moved her hand to his chest and held it tightly as he kissed her with a certain unwavering love. In the matter of seconds it was over, it only left more longing for more time. “Don’t worry about me, I will find you. Now go, you have to, for me.” Tugging the rope at his hand she was pulled upward onto the awaiting helicopter. Within seconds it was cleared to go and far below Nolan watched as it disappeared into the great gray sky, the sound of the wind settling around him. He was left with his thoughts and a gun, it was time to finish what had been started. But still his eyes watched the sky, perhaps a moment of want to see her return to him. And just like that she was gone and all Nolan could do was watch the helicopter go, his heart going with it.

WICKED & UNHOLY - A CoD Zombies AU Story

Dark Aether has spread, engulfing everything it touches. Monsters, zombies, and a Dark Aether mutation plunges the world into darkness leaving only chaos in it's wake. Towards the northern mountains of Verdansk Shadow Company looks for anything that may have been left behind from the reaches of the 80’s when Adler was there. Desperate to find anything to help sway the tides of battle with the plagued undead, Velikan finds hope in the form of a village witch, supposed to have inherited “magic” from the other world. Down in ground zero of Urzikstan Nolan has been tasked with forcing scientist to figure out how to close the gates of hell and in their possession is his daughter. If he does not cooperate, Nolan will kill them and fearing for their lives, the scientist works tirelessly day and night to preserve humanity. And finally Konni is not yet done trying to take over. With whatever semblance there is left to a natural world Makarov fights. Weary of her brother’s actions, his sister does his bidding but only with the idea to help stop him. It begins with contact between her and Task Force 141 during an unlikely meeting.

October 13, 2024 - Zaravan Exclusion Zone, Urzikstan - Konni HQ It begins with the feeling of dread, it always does. Eyes closed with a deep intake of air, it felt sharp against her lungs as she held it inward. There was a smell of dust and smoke laced with rotted flesh- it would have been nauseating if it hadn't been the norm for the past year. At this point it was almost grounding to feel the fresh air. Quietly and just for a moment she feels like throwing herself to the zombies that moan grotesquely just beyond the compound's safety, their sounds echoing so miserably against the concrete walls. It would be better than throwing herself to the wolves that wait her just down below, they were ready to tear her throat out all the same. But that was normality now- the dead plagued the streets and they weren't even the worst thing out there. The other hard reality is she wasn't craven like that, she would do her duty out until the end. It would have to kill her and at a young age that was beaten into her. She could either die afraid or die fighting and there was no room for being a coward. She may be losing spirit to do for someone else but she wouldn't lose spirit for herself, that was her father's doing. Releasing the harbored air just before she got too dizzy the woman scanned her surroundings. Sharp eyes stared for a moment longer, how blue and distant they were, and there was a hard realization in her heart. "What have we done, Yelena?" she muttered to herself with a hard frown, the slick Russian words ringing off of her tongue. In moments like these she would often reflect just how far they had taken things. Her brother had always had a certain charisma that made it seem like it was the right thing to do, sometimes even the only thing they could do. Staring off into the void of glowing purple eyes that lay just beyond Yelena could feel it biting at her heart. She knew it in her soul there was no longer a reason to continue this fight if it meant the end of humanity. But the sound of the door opening behind her ripped her from her thoughts. Standing to attention she turned and her eyes caught sight of a familiar but unwelcome sight, Yelena relaxing but still glowering at the man that had joined her on the balcony. He was tall, domineering in a smug way, and towering over her as he stood between her and the door. "Hiding up here, are we?" Nolan motioned with a roll of his shoulders. He stared at her hard but she stared back just as steely, her bright eyes not breaking contact with his own blue ones. At best they tolerated one another and at worst they would get into it, almost once having cost them the mission. Makarov made sure not to send them alone together after that point but not without a reminder of course, just to show them that they were not the ones in charge. She often hated looking at that scar, it meant she was tied to Nolan in the worst kind of way. "Hardly, I'm keeping an eye out for our safety." Yelena replied without removing her eyes, her eyes glisten up at him like a wolf on the prowl. "but don't you have scientists to keep an eye on? Or are you too busy patrolling me to care about your own duties?" But Nolan smirked, he likes when she bites back at him. "I came to retrieve you, mutt, Makarov wants a meeting."

With one fallen domino others fell into place, namely with Makarov gaining the upper hand over Task Force 141 after continuously being one step ahead. He was determined to take down his enemies and before anyone had known the west had truly been on the precipice of war. With World War 3 looming upon the horizon Task Force 141 strove to finally catch him once and for all but all it did was push Makarov into extending his reach. It began with the assassination of Barkov and by Makarov's own hand, Makarov having finally had enough of his former leader's inability to get anything done. Makarov felt that he was too comfortable in only keeping an iron hold on Verdansk and then with his failure to keep it and Makarov's own eventual imprisonment from it, well, that was enough to turn the gun on him and seize power for himself. Establishing Konni as its own beast to be reckoned with even while in prison, Makarov had taken over Barkov's plans and people when he had been broken out. After the assassination his goal to once again provoke the west was met with eagerness and was quickly set to pace, even going as far as to once again obtain missiles. This time proved a little more fruitful however and with it came even more- a dark past from the Cold War. With this new found leadership came details of something known as Aetherium, or rather dark aether, and plans for using it against the west entirely. He discovered notes from the Cold War about this unique and tide changing gift and just what properties it held. Intrigued by dark aether zombies and notes about the abilities in which dark aether possessed, he grew frenzied by it. He convinced many of the Inner Circle and with it others followed- they were to win, surely, and Aetherium was the key to this success.

I would like to know something about Yelena, her relationship with Ghost 👀

Thank you SO much for asking! I’ve been wanting to talk about that! 👀

Yelena’s relationship with Ghost is one built upon learning to trust the other, for various reasons of course!

They’re enemies, they definitely shouldn’t get along, but during a zombie apocalypse they don’t have anyone else they could rely on. At first they're only working together to get the job done but as time goes on they become close. So they prove to one another that there is a foundation of trust there and it certainly makes room for other loves to grow.

Their relationship and just like the others in the story is based upon proximity and the hard realization that they don’t have anyone else. What makes them different from Velikan x Karina and Nolan x Briar is that her and Ghost keep one another safe. They share quiet moments of affection and become one another’s partner even while out in the field. They maneuver the remains of Zaravan together and it builds their bond, especially as they start to go out of their way to keep each other safe.

The other difference from the others is Yelena knows she has to betray him in some way or another and so it’s more wistful, hopeful and holds a certain yearning that the other relationships do not possess. So she's torn between loyalty to both Ghost and Makarov, ultimately deciding which outcome is worse.

They both deserve happiness and a true honest love. They possess these qualities for one another but of course they have to wade through the enemies part, something that doesn't come easy for either but is learned. ♡
