✿ oh you know they'd smash it at karaoke. potentially a very good ice-breaker. it is a blessing that the catalogues hosted at the karaoke bars of phnom pehn don't have any manele on it, and anica sticks to western pop. you're standing up for a duet, rith. yes, yes you are. i wouldn't call anica boisterous or brash about it, though, even when in the heat of the moment (and would be even more careful because she doesn't know rith too well! she's still a little on guard, a little rigid in her formality!) and she would reel it in if she gets the impression that she's being a little... too much, but she has to spot it first.

Once upon a time, all he was focused on was the prestige of having a spiderweb of influence and a tie to almost every other country on the continent. He glutted himself on feelings of righteousness and self importance during the many instances of crushing rebellion in the other states he had influence over. After WW1 however, it all came around like a hammer-stroke to the skull. Some of the most severe guilt you can possibly imagine hit him hard and then it was compounded with feeling disgusting for even indulging in guilt after everything.

Now, he struggles intensely with an ingrained liking for luxury and fine surroundings, memories of a glorious past, but thinking that holding onto such things means he is still an awful person and that he must be more humble about it or he might fall into old bad habits. He wants praise, he really does, but indulging in it makes him feel like he's reverting somehow. This occasionally results in drastic fits where he throws aways everything nice he's hoarded or burns it and retreats to alpine woods to try and reset himself.

When it comes to cultural artifacts like books, art, clothing, or the like, he is fervently dedicated to funding and preserving them. When it comes to softer people, or any other living creature, he is actually somewhat of a mother hen. He likes to fund people's passions, support those down on their luck, so on. Though he may sometimes appear it, he is extremely far from gentle or patient internally and sees it as important to protect anything that cannot protect itself.

It looked like her wallet (and given the fact someone had made it for her it could only be her wallet), but she was always so careful with it! Without another word, Eleanor stuck her hands into her pockets, then into her bag. Nope. Not there. It had definitely fallen out, probably when she got her camera out to take a picture of something. Or when she was rummaging through her bag in search of something that suddenly seemed a little insignificant.

Sheepishly, she moved one hand forward to take what she'd somewhat carelessly lost.

Lyrics from 六兆年と一夜物語 (kemu) and IZANA (WagakkiBand) Kiku didn't really have a childhood, but Hikaru did (and the details he's missing are the ones of conflict, which belong to Kiku) so (interestingly, to me) I had to tell two stories with this; how it started, and how it's going (basically.) Because of the lack of truly early memories, the things Kiku remembers from early life could be as late as Hikaru's 20s-30s.

Grabbing the bags, he extends one towards his guest, a cool yet tired smile stretching his lips. “As you can imagine, things are very busy around here this time of year. I hope a couple of my favorite 包子 will make up for it.” 

He doesn’t wait for the other to take out his share before he already has one plump bun in his hand and takes a large, joyful bite of it. Licking the tender meat and savory sauce from his lips, he continues. “I can’t allow a single thing to go amiss-- this is a very important holiday afterall.I’m sure you understand, yes?”
