unprompted ask / always accepting!
@noknockingonmydoor said: Rohan had planned to sneak the gift in Josuke's bag while he wasn't looking, after a whole day of pretending not to care much about it. Except Josuke showed up far earlier than Rohan had anticipated. In fact, right as Rohan was wrapping up the gift! Hurriedly, he tried to hide it, mentally cursing how Josuke always ruined everything. In his rush, he dropped a bag, and chocolates scattered all over the floor, while he stood there, frozen in horror, unable to do anything but wait to be discovered.
to say things were complicated between the two was understatement. tension sometimes rising out of nowhere, mixed messages & on top of that, there was rohan always acting indifferent about him every time josuke thought the two of them were getting somewhat closer. he was... more of a pandora’s box than a box full of surprises, leading to some serious questioning regarding the reason why he showed up every time at his place. maybe today it would be a good day. maybe the mangaka wouldn’t call him names & appreciate the few flowers he had purchased on his way there out of impulse. white sasa-yuris because they were different from the usual roses & it matched with most of rohan’s outfits.
his presence had been announced as he opened the door & found the mangaka dropping what appeared to be a box full of chocolates. sapphire-like eyes staring at each piece scattered on the ground before he looked up & saw an expression of horror. ah... this was his fault.
“...”
josuke stares at the mess for a moment before walking further into the house after closing the door behind him. the small bouquet of flowers, placed on the nearest surface so that he could clean up the mess by picking the box & use crazy diamond’s ability to pick up each chocolate. just as if it was new. the box was handed over with an apologetic smile, as his thoughts ran at a quick speed. were these for...someone else or...? he found himself clueless as to what to say.
“—sorry for scaring you... i should’ve knocked.”

“Oh, good! You’re here! Look.”
He picks up the small, fluffy dog standing by his feet, wagging its tail enthusiastically, and holds it towards her–but not before the dog sneaks in a kiss on his cheek, to which Rohan reacts with an expression between disgust and delight.
“It’s been hounding my yard for the past few days, and I’ve been feeding it, and now it’s getting ideas. Unfortunately, as you know, I don’t have time to care for it. You’re good with dogs. Do you want it?”
ㅤ ㅤ Her brain registered that rather warm greeting, almost as if he were truly relieved to see her approaching, but her ever-attentive gaze was irresistibly drawn to that little white ball of fur that Rohan picked up from the floor. So adorably agitated, the tail wagging so fast that she was not even able to keep up — and giving the man a sweet kiss on the cheek as some kind of enthusiastic acknowledgment for the help offered so far. A soft chuckle escaped her lips in the face of that tender sight, and then her hands gently took the puppy, trying to make it quiet in her loving arms. ❝ Oh, my! You are so, so cute! ❞ But it seemed so excited, ready to play or just run around right now, that Reimi needed to hold on tighter or it would end up falling unintentionally. Was it always like that, or was it just especially happy to get so much attention at once? ❝ Here, here. Good boy… Or girl? ❞ Her voice dropped a few octaves, her fingers slowly running through its fur, trying to calm the animal down a bit, but it didn’t work out very well. So much energy was endearing even, it brought back some good memories of a distant past.
ㅤ ㅤ Most of her attention was focused on the puppy, who just like a small child, needs only a measly moment of distraction to wreak havoc. Still, she listened to Rohan’s explanations patiently, and the story brought a mischievous smile to her lips. So, he was been feeding the animal lately, and she could only have fun imagining such an unusual scene. A sign that his heart was in the right place, no doubt — but now getting rid of it was a doomed mission. ❝ Of course I want! ❞ Reimi replied without thinking twice, hugging the puppy once again. A canine friend was always very welcome! One thing at a time, though. ❝ But it’s not that simple. Dog food, vaccines, baths and grooming… I can’t provide these things. ❞ She looked at him with a thoughtful expression, which gradually became a knowing one. ❝ Unless you insist on that idea of me breaking into stores and stealing stuff around. ❞ She didn’t forget his bold suggestion when the issue of her artistic supplies was discussed. Just imagine Morioh’s pet shops gaining a reputation for being haunted…

@noknockingonmydoor le reply~
Busy all day? She looked up at him , raising a single brow. His whole posture screamed of fake confidence, as if he was trying to hide and pretend. Honestly if she was to be her usual sassy she would call out that terrible acting more brutally however....she was feeling a bit generous. Sighing she leans in her seat and pulls out a singe cigar, placing it between plump lips.
“Darling, that's not convincing at all, but have it your way “
With that said, she did not move away, instead chose to sit in silence. If he was to leave or tell her to piss off, well she had counter to both of scenarios.
As the minutes passed, smoke of her cigar danced in the air, a silent hum was heard from her lips. It wasn't any particular tune she simply did so out of habit. Sighing, once again she looks at him, blue eyes questioning and trying to understand what was making him behave like that?
“Do you often play a tragic and misunderstood artist? Or are you trying to run away from something?”

❝ rohan. ❞ just why would yukako yamagishi be visiting his house of all places ? the girl’s interests swayed away from manga and art , the only interest of artistic taste was in her personal beauty and the potential of men , no , of only koichi , so it was safe to assume her motives leaned towards that singular mindset. she had intruded into his home without a second thought , the sound of her heavy footsteps stomping up the stairs echoed violently throughout the house , ❝ where the hell are you ? ❞ it had been awhile since she’d been thrown into a bad mood , as while koichi was noticing her more and more , they still remained on fragile territory after everything that happened between them. and just who continued to get in her way whenever she found the courage to approach ? who had stolen him away for some stupid project ? she was over being thrown into the background dammit.
and yet … that initial , unreasonable anger turns into confusion when she realises koichi is no longer present within rohan’s home , and instead she just finds him , sitting at his desk. it’s not long before expression sours again , though obviously she’s thrown rather off-guard. ❝ you’re on your own ? where’s koichi ? ❞ and then there’s that suspicious tone , as she was well aware of events surrounding rohan’s first meeting with her dear koichi ; not that she had been any better , but that hypocrisy falls on deaf ears.

@noknockingonmydoor new thread
Plotted start. Jotaro/Rohan
Jotaro parted his lips to say something before the sound of his phone drowned out his voice. He stopped, turning his attention away from the other and dug into a pocket to retrieve the mobile device. Only a handful of people had this means of contacting him. Everyone else he had just referred to the hotel phone. Not just for the safety of others, but because he didn’t want to get too many people wrapped up in everything that he was up to. The work that Jotaro did was dangerous. While his work with marine life was fine enough, something he did in between dealing with stand users and sightings. The work he did for the Speedwagon Foundation and had been doing since he took down Dio wasn’t anything to take lightly. Thus, the more people he could keep out of dealing with it, the better. If it hadn’t been for the appearance of the stand arrow in Morioh, the rise of activity in stand users and now the discovery of Yoshikage Kira, he likely would have moved onto his next job after sorting out the issues with the Joestar family inheritance. That’s why whenever his phone rang, he knew that it had to be someone of importance. Someone who would have his direct line to ensure that they were able to get in touch with him when they needed him. This was he device he carried with him everywhere. It wasn’t a tethered line or a land line, so unless he was in the middle of dealing with something, Jotaro was prone to answer the calls that came through. And when he saw who it was that was calling on the other end of the line, he motioned to Rohan for him to be excused from their work. This was a call he couldn’t ignore. One he probably shouldn’t ignore, anyway. Though it wouldn’t have been the first time he had if he did.
“It’s Jotaro,” He said into the receiver. Jotaro had gotten up from where he was sitting and paced away, keeping his back to the other, while he held the phone to his ear.
“Jotaro, I need you here now. Where are you?” Came the sound of his wife’s voice. She sounded upset by something. “It’s Jolyne. She’s in the hospital.”
He sucked in a breath, eyes widening just slightly. His first thought came: had someone found out who his family was? An enemy stand user? Would they stoop so low as to attack a pair of non-users when he wasn’t around? Or worse, had Jolyne developed a stand of her own? He had heard of children being able to manifest a stand in stressful situations. It had been Jotaro’s hope that Jolyne would never develop a stand. He did not want her to end up following the same cycle as the rest of his family. If she remained without any abilities like her mother, then she could be ignorant to the burden that the Joestar family carried and live a normal life. The curse that they carried would end with Jotaro. That was what he wanted for her, that was part of the reason why he kept his distance and kept his family in the dark about the kind of work he had to go away and do. It was safer for them this way. Even if his wife had a hard time understanding that. Luckily, when he didn’t respond right away his wife had went on to explain what had happened to their seven-year-old. It wasn’t anything like he was thinking it could have been. Jolyne had had a nasty fall and ended up with a few broken bones. Her first time in a serious injury, which was a relief for Jotaro. But it also meant that his wife was stressed out and tired from being in the hospital for the last day. And while he was relieved to hear that it wasn’t anything, he was imagining it to be, he realized that even if had been a stand attack, neither of them would know. Not without his asking Jolyne about it and finding out what happened. It sounded normal enough, but he needed to be sure.
“Don’t you dare tell me you are too busy, Jotaro.” She warned him, bringing him out of his thoughts. “She’s your daughter, you need to be here for her right now. I need you to be here. I’m exhausted.”
He sighed, bringing a hand up to pinch the bridge of his noise. How else would he find out for sure it wasn’t more serious if he didn’t go? He didn’t suppose he could persuade his irritable and exhausted wife to allow him to speak with Jolyne about it on the phone and then deny being able to make it back to be with them. That wouldn’t go over well. Then again, the case he was working in Morioh was extremely important. He had to see this through, and he had to recover the arrows. He supposed though, if he had to leave for a short span of time, it wouldn’t hurt too much. Right? Josuke was filled in on the situation at hand and Rohan had all the information that Jotaro currently had now. Maybe they would be able to hold down the fort for a short time while he was away. He hated to just pick up and leave so suddenly, this put him in between a rock and a hard place. It had him thinking back to the other stack of papers he had been carrying around with him for the last few months. Jotaro hadn’t been able to bring himself to go through with it but, maybe now was a time to really start weighing his options. He wouldn’t have to worry about danger with his family if they weren’t involved with him at all. Maybe he wasn’t cut out to be the family man that his grandfather was. His life had become his work and without anyone by his side that could understand what he was dealing with, he couldn’t risk it. And could barely make the time for anything. His head was beginning to ache. Right now, he was wishing he hadn’t quit smoking. With a sigh he finally lowered his hand to his side.
“Give me a day. I can’t promise I’ll be able to stay long, but I’ll do what I can.” He finally responded before hanging up with her.
Now, here came the harder part. Jotaro turned back to face Rohan. They’d been working closely together recently. And while he was still understanding his mannerisms and moods, he had learned enough about Rohan to know that he was a valuable asset in all this. His mind was complex, brilliant. And his stand was incredibly useful at gathering information. He couldn’t have chosen a better person to work with. Someone else to help him carry the burden that was weighing on his shoulders. Except for this one thing. Jotaro had secrets. Many of them. And one of them was the fact that he was married with a young child back in America. Why did that complicate things? Because he didn’t mind his company and admired his brilliance. His ability to remain composed to the cold streak he had seen in him were little reminders for Jotaro. A call back for nostalgia and that was a dangerous recipe where he was concerned. The last person who had traits like that… Jotaro had been head over heels for. Although he had never really had the chance to express those feelings. At the time he wasn’t great at expressing himself, even now he struggled with it. And then he had lost his life before anything could be done about it. Whenever he thought about it, it still made him uneasy. As though he had some unresolved feelings that he hadn’t quite learned to cope with just yet. Had he been projecting those feelings onto Rohan? Looking at him now, he should have been fine with just telling him he needed to step away for a week or so. But, Jotaro was finding it difficult to bring himself to do it now. The thought of it had his mind in a whirlwind. What if he didn’t make it back in time and something else happened…? An invasive thought he had to shake away. He couldn’t be thinking about things like that.
Shifting where he stood as he tucked his phone away. He was suddenly uncomfortable and found himself unable to make direct eye contact with the younger male. Habits he hadn’t had for ten years ago surfacing. Damn. This wasn’t getting any better for him. He sighed to himself, slight frustration. Yeah, he could have used a smoke right now. How long would the other wait for him to say something? He couldn’t just stand there and avoid looking at him because of these complicated feelings. They hardly even made sense. He closed his eyes for a moment to collect his thoughts and calm himself. He had to be logical about this. He was married. He was eight years older than him. This trip was supposed to be for business alone. The only reason he was here was because of the arrows and Yoshikage Kira. Meeting Josuke had just been the first part of his business and until he discovered the arrows, the only business he had there. Once all of it was concluded, he was going to leave for America again and take Joseph with him. Besides that, his way of life was dangerous and demanding even for another stand user. He couldn’t ask anyone to take on a burden that wasn’t their’s to take. And of course, most importantly, he needed to remind himself: Rohan was not Noriaki. Another slight shake of his head before he finally forced himself to look at the mangaka. It was now or never.
“Rohan.” He began, his tone low and serious. He locked that intense gaze on the younger male, forcing himself not to look away. “I have something important I need to discuss with you. I just received a call from….” Reluctance, he didn’t want to say the words. “…home. There’s been an emergency, I’ll have to leave Morioh first thing tomorrow for a little while to take care of it.”
Of course, he intended to return once he made sure Jolyne was safe. Seeing them again, he thought it might also help him decide if it was time to sign those divorce papers or not.

Send ™ and my muse will do a poor imitation of yours. //accepting
Joseph sat on one of the sofas opposite the others. The old man struggled for a moment to bring a leg up to cross over the other. Leaning on the arm of the couch, he dropped his cane. The object clambering to the floor. Though he seemed to pay it no mind, placing his chin on his knuckles. An attempt to sit like the young man he was trying to imitate but his larger frame made it awkward. Even more so with the fact that he didnt get around as well as he did.
When his cane was retrieved for him and offered to him, he glanced over out of the corner of his eye, trying his best to ignore them. When a second insisnt came for him to take his walking aid, the old man turned to glare through his half-moon glasses up at the towering figure above him.
"I refuse." He said in a not so intimidating manner. Another attempt to copy the behavior of the other.

@noknockingonmydoor | BABY YOU’RE CRAAAZY!
( THE HAND ¥ ) —— Something’s been on his mind for a while, ever since he’d brushed his teeth that morning. He would experience hypertension, short but very painful hunger pangs and short term memory loss. The last one was punctuated as an everyday occurrences by Josuke, yet he maintained it was the work of something mysterious. Every now and then Okuyasu would flinch. It--it wouldn’t be the work of another Stand User, would it? The mind was a terrible, terrible thing as images popped in his brain one by one. Could it attack him through the cavity and control his brain? Sew his mouth shut when he went to sleep?! GOD, this is driving me nuts! “OH! Oh shit, I didn’t even see ya’ there.” Okuyasu shuffles, stepping out the figures way. He suddenly felt out of place (if a tad embarrassed), shivering a little from the cool interior of the bus. He’s got his hands in his pockets, and his eyes to the platform, so it’s no wonder he’d start bumping into strangers on the way home. Okuyasu glances to the person, curious about their clearly expensive shoes, quailing at the sight.
“H-Holy fuck, what--what are you doing here?!”

What did you always wish you could dress up as when you were a kid?
(As a kid, I always really loved going as super obscure costumes that absolutely no one would know like Frankie Stein right before Monster High got popular or a kids show that wouldn’t get popular until a decade later but I wish I could’ve gotten more obscure by going as Melody.
I always loved the Little Mermaid 2 for some strange reason so I always wanted to go as Melody but my mom couldn’t figure out how to make her poofy pants at the time so I went as Ariel that year instead lmao)

character development time! give me some interesting questions about my character & I will answer. / accepting
@noknockingonmydoor said: What would DIO say to Dio Brando, his former mortal self, if they somehow met?
he would not be kind to himself. not at all. DIO grew a lot & he acknowledges that. he had allowed power to get into his head & blind him, resulting in underestimating his opponent & therefore, his defeat. he was far too egotistical for his own good, which may be ironic considering now he comes across as some sort of saviour to others. back then when he was a mere mortal, he was young & yet, thought he had the world wrapped around his finger. his decisions were brash & carried out through his emotions, even if he believed that to be otherwise. he’d tell him that he’s mistaken, & that he still needs so much maturing to do. that time spent doing just that, would be rewarded with his stand. if he had to give himself any sort of advice, it would be to stop thinking about himself as untouchable, for his ego would be the cause of his demise.

send 🌿 to meet my muse under the mistletoe / not accepting
@noknockingonmydoor said: 🌿 (meet under the mistletoe? More like DRAG under the mistletoe)
when rohan asked demanded josuke to go along with him to a party thrown by his editor—because as rohan ranted about it, those could turn really boring real quick—he didn’t think much of it & agreed ( as if he had an option in the first place ). sure, it was their first christmas spent together, but with how secretive they had been ever since they started to fool around, the younger one of the two thought that that meant going as ‘friends’, someone rohan could talk to when he had become tired of dealing with everyone else while sneaking a peek here & there, maybe. or even just a brush of hands as they passed by. even then, josuke was fine with all that so long as the other was, despite it being frustrating more often than not. if being with rohan meant keeping it a secret, he was willing to do so until the time was right.
however, what josuke didn’t consider was just how much rohan could let loose with a drink or two. the guy had made it seem as if he’d need them if that meant dealing with pretentious people ( josuke had refrained himself from pointing out the irony ) & now, that meant dealing with someone bolder, someone with no self-control, it seemed. he was a tornado he couldn’t stop & by the time rohan’s eyes caught sight of the mistletoe, he practically dragged josuke along with him after he was hesitant of kissing him in public, asking if it would be alright. it felt as rohan’s way to telling him he’d not take a ‘no’ for answer, forcing him to partake in a tradition josuke wasn’t even sure where it came from. ah, what the hell.
somehow, having the other pretty much demand for a kiss was somewhat endearing, & if it hadn’t been for the worry he had regarding what others may think ( not because of him, but because of rohan’s reputation ), he’d have picked him up much to his dismay & kiss him profoundly. instead, what resulted of this was for the mangaka to tug at the collar of his shirt to pull him down. lips meeting his & ending up stained with lipsticks. if someone was looking, it was no longer josuke’s concern, for in that moment only rohan existed.

With a deadpan look on her face, she gazes from the sign to him. Unamused she was honestly surprised that he thought he was being clever or witty with this. Without warning, she loops his arm with her own and manages to put the sign over both of them so they could share the title.

it's always been a point of interest & curiosity for others since he was young ( ' oh jojo's so cool & mysterious! ' he remembers those girls squealing without shame, clutching bags to their chests & swooning. ), causing more than ONE misunderstanding & awkward / aggravating situation. they'd always call it something to that effect -- a veil, wall, mask -- & acting as if it's a compliment. he's not mysterious. why should he wear his heart on his sleeve?
❝ my what? ❞ is his first response, looking towards rohan with a less than pleased expression on his face ( or, is that his usual expression? ) ❝ waxing poetics again, rohan? ❞

Plotted starter: Rohan/Jotaro @noknockingonmydoor
Jotaro pushed back the sleeve of his coat to glance down at the wristwatch he had on. Watching the time to make sure that he was on time. It looked like he had arrived at the planned meeting location just on time. That was a change for him. Generally, he was the one that was always running late. It wasn’t that he meant to be late whenever he had to be somewhere, more so that he tended to get tied up in other things. Running the Speedwagon Foundation and working as a Marine Biologist took up a majority of his time. It always seemed like he was doing something. Always busy. He was a real workaholic if there ever was one. The downside to this was of course his being late to most of his meetings or important dates or just anywhere he had to be. This was not limited to his family life. Which had fallen to shambles recently. His absence and the fact that he always had to be working or traveling for work or not being able to be somewhere because of work, had taken a hard toll on his marriage. Effectively ending it just recently. And even now, he had little time to travel back to Florida in order to see his young daughter, Jolyne. He did what he could though whenever he had the time to do it. It was his preference to stay busy. Both because it kept his mind from wondering to other things and because the more work he completed with the Foundation, the safer he felt that Jolyne’s future would end up being. She could hate him for this whenever she got older, but eventually she would thank him for it whenever she didn’t end up following the same Joestar family legacy. That legacy was what had led him here.
Here being Morioh, Japan. At first, he had only come here with the intention to meet with his young uncle, Josuke HIgashikata. Admittedly it was a little embarrassing to find out that he had an Uncle that was only sixteen, but after coming into contact with him—he had found that he wasn’t all bad. He could certainly tell he was the Old Man’s son though. As if their family matters weren’t a headache enough, trying to sort out the inheritance of the Joestar fortune. He soon enough found himself in the middle of another battle against stand users. Morioh catching his attention whenever a suspicious amount of stand users started to appear in the area. He had been able to track down the cause of this, a stand arrow. And although it had been within their grasps it had become more of a problem now. The situation only twisting into something more and more bizarre when it was revealed that the town had secretly been plagued by a serial killer for the last fifteen years. If it hadn’t been for the nature of how this was discovered, Jotaro would have kept his focus solely on recovering the arrow. However, after encountering Kira and figuring out how he was disposing of his victims. It had been made clear to him that he was a stand user as well. And not just any stand user, but he was using his stand to commit murders and for no better reason than himself. That could not be allowed to continue. Jotaro couldn’t just move on from this town knowing that he had let someone like that slip under the radar. So, he had committed himself to helping his Uncle track him down and put an end to it.
Recently, he had heard from Koichi Hirose, one of Josuke’s friends—that someone he knew was working on this case as well. Ever since Kira had slipped from their fingers, it had been a difficult task trying to figure out who he might be hiding as now. Given his pattern, Jotaro was almost certain he probably hadn’t left Morioh. But the issue was that he could be anyone since he used Cinderella to change his appearance. This was a cunning man who was practiced in hiding in the crowd. He had been doing this for fifteen years. They were certainly at a disadvantage here with that being the case. Anyone who was working on the case would be a help. He thought it might actually be better if they all pulled together to try and figure this out. They could divide the work that they were all putting into it, while keeping an eye out for any other attacking stand users. Jotaro felt that given the circumstances, it would be much too dangerous for anyone to be going out on this mission by themselves. They could very well run into trouble that way. And after finding out firsthand just how powerful and destructive Kira’s stand was, he didn’t want anyone to end up getting themselves killed by it. That was the whole point of arranging the meeting.
Goring through Koichi, he had planned the meeting with this friend of his for them to meet up at the café at the center of downtown Morioh. Here seemed like a good neutral place for them to talk and also, it was close enough to the bustle of the little town that if anything happened, they would be able to respond to it right away. The reason he kept checking his watch, was because as it was now—the person he was supposed to be meeting with was about fifteen minutes late. He didn’t necessarily want to have to go back to call Koichi and ask for an address. Jotaro wasn’t going to let this person to continue to try and handle a case this high profile on their own though. So, if for whatever reason he decided not to show up within the hour, he would do just that. It wouldn’t have been the first time that Jotaro had to handle a situation like this.
