instead of paying attention to the rules (sorry wang yi, but who's not going to run?), yuri takes the opportunity to size up the other two teams. they're mostly made up of other adults, surprisingly; one teen, but she's got an overconfident air about her that's pretty damn unsettling. sure doesn't help that, once she catches him staring, she shoots him possibly the most bone-chilling grin he's ever seen. yeesh.

this is all giving him major flashbacks to military training...

"oh shit, countdown's almost up." he nods to his teammates, hardly visible in the dark light if not for their shiny gear, "i'm going on ahead to find a good vantage point before they get the drop on us. you guys do whatever. just, y'know, don't get shot 'n cost us the whole game."

before taking off, he makes sure to add with a bit more urgency, "watch out for that kid."

With their vest on, target sensors checked and ready, and their laser guns, the three boys are ready to start this game of WAR. Well, game of war in the sense that these two were going to lose and Sun was going to win. He's so confident and cocky. Giggling, Sun's bouncing on his sole feet. "I'm Ready!" He really is. The way his tail twitches and swishes behind him is proof enough if his entire body language wasn't.

Soon enough, they're already at the arena. Luckily with just one explanation on how these guns work, Sun's got it down. Good thing he's a quick learner and it wasn't hard to follow the direction (it's not like cooking.)

Cyberbullying in Social Media in 2030

Cyberbullying is a form of bullying that takes place over digital devices such as cellphones, computers and tablets.  This form of bullying can occur through SMS, text, online social media and gaming app where other people can view it, participate and share.  Cyberbullying involves posting, and sending negative, harmful, false or mean information about someone else.  This can also include sharing information that is personal and private in order to humiliate or embarrass someone else (Stopbullying, 2018).

Hillary Grigonis (2017) discusses in her article Cyberbullying Happens More Often on Instagram, a New Survey Suggests, the ranking of social media sites where cyberbullying takes place most. In a survey conducted in July 2017, it suggests that half of teen and young adults between ages 12 and 20 have been bullied and 17% experience online bullying through social media platforms.  According to the study, Instagram at 47% was that platform that most teens and young adults experienced the most cyberbullying, Facebook was close at 37% and Snapchat ranked third at 31%.

John Prumos (2015), discusses his findings and predictions for cyberbullying including year 2030 in his article Cyberbullying: Future Projections.  In this article, Prumos points out that cyberbullying no longer has to be an individual being bullied through social media sites by one or multiple people but now cyberbullying has taken on an extended method through memes.  

Memes are a humorous image, video, place of text etc. that is duplicated and spread rapidly through users of social media (Rodriguez, 2017).  Memes are known and typically can go viral overnight and many of these images are depicting an individuals’ physical flaws or appearance which ultimately falls under cyberbullying.  Due to the popularity, usage increase and power of social media, these memes are able to be shared and reach opposite ends of the earth although not directly making fun of the individual straight to their social media account, they are still in a way participating in bullying.  Jennifer Rodriguez (2017) included a brief overview and story in her article, Mean Memes and Cyberbullying.  In 2016 a meme was created featuring “the ugliest woman in the world”, the individual whose picture was posted is Lizzie Velasquez who suffers from a rare congenital disease that prevents her from gaining weight.  After this meme went viral and got back to Lizzie Velasquez, she uploaded a statement on her Instagram page,

“Yes, it’s very late at night as I type this, but I do so as a reminder that the innocent people that are being put in these memes are probably up just as late, scrolling through Facebook and feeling something that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy…At the time you might find it hilarious, but the human in the photo is probably feeling the exact opposite.”

Lizzie Velasquez is only one of the many who are negatively impacted from cyberbullying. According to American Association of Suicidology, the rate of suicide for 10-14 years old has grown 50% over the last three decades and is only to increase due to the vast increase and popularity of social media.  Approximately 42 % of youth report being bullied online which leaves the remainder 58% going unnoticed and not being helped.  

No Bullying: The World’s Authority on Bullying is a website that informs users on how to identify bullying, how to handle bullying, causes of bullying and types of bullying.  It also gives parents information on how they can participate in helping stop bullying with articles, and how we as parents can teach our children the impact that bullying can have on others.  The website also provides stories about cyberbullying that can be beneficial to children to read, to really understand how critical our actions are on others.  

Overall cyberbullying and harassment in year 2030 will only increase in occurrences, severity and advance due to the growth and popularity that social media holds.   Society holds an abundance of power when it comes to social media and has great control over the rate of exploiting information through personal devices.  For those victims of cyberbullying in 2030, ability to form friendships will result in more difficulty due to the rise and unavoidably of cyberbullying.

Is he home? Is he not home? I can't see, the curtains are blocking my view.

He picked up Wang Yi's scent whenever he was around the residency's place. Originally, he had been making his way to the Star Trail so he could enjoy some meals and naturally the Monkey man got curious about the housing in the area. That's how he ends up here at Condo 411. Hands are splayed opened on the window and his face is pressed against the cold glass. Eugh cold he thinks to himself.

Tail swishes from left to right almost aggressively, but there's nothing aggressive with how he's feeling. Maybe a slight irritation and annoyance with how cold it is. A twinge of sadness and despair for something deep down he's not quite sure with. Almost like a distant memory. ABOVE all that though, he feels worry, concern, and guilt for the friend he's trying to check up on.

"Wang Yi?" He calls out, but voice is muffled by the glass. "Are you home?"

His comment earns a pair of squinted eyes and a frown, but Nicolette doesn't offer much more than that. No, she didn't realize they were this close, either. And no... she doesn't know how close they are— thought she was starting too, but now she isn't so sure.

She invades his space without much prompting and glides past him, pausing long enough to mutter ❛ we'll see ❜ before heading towards Eiden's room.

Immediately, Nicolette decides to be a little mean with how aggressively she opens the door and walks up to the bed to kick the mattress. She might be acting childish, but it feels deserved.

If Eiden was slow on uptake he'd ask about the injuries but reading situation doesn't take a genius here and it sure isn't the time. He wonders how the hell is she'd been banging the door that loud with the though.

Her dog... she says.

Despite how it sounds he's actually referring to the proximity of their apartments. With how her mood seems it seems like acting docile is the way to go here, so Eiden sighs as he moves out of the way.

Anyway why does he feel like a homewrecker here.

" Um.... Pretty directly forward from here", he says pointing out the direction.

He pauses as she glances towards her.

" Be nice? "

as prickly as he's being right now, yuri doesn't react to the arm looping through his own with anything more than a brief glower. if anything, he's more hung up on sun thinking he's gonna win!

"yeah, yeah. no worries, i'll keep it tame for ya," he reassures wang yi with a shrug. he's in this for whooping some butt in a dumb game, not actually humiliating anyone. he hardly knows the guy either, so it's not like he'd get anything out of it. "tramp stamps are off the table, promise. unless sun wants one."

once the venue comes into view, yuri lets out a low whistle -- this place is huge.

"all this for a shooting game? they really went overboard," so he says, but his quickened pace has him practically dragging the other two forward.

"Ooh! I always wanted a tattoo." Semi permanent or not, he's always wanted one. Since when? Who knows! "I won't have to worry, 'cause I'm not going to lose." Oh, he's cocky too.

Tugging at Wang Yi's wrist, Sun is already pulling him. It must be jarring how he's switching on and off, "Hurry and lead the way, mmm!" Sun even reaches to slink his arm around Yuri's as if they were buddy, buddy. They are, aren't they?

'lead the way, Wang Yi~ ♥!!!"

'yuri' and 'laid-back' usually go hand-in-hand -- that's his thing. it's not everyday that something so pointless manages to get on his nerves, but he hasn't felt right since yesterday, like bits and pieces of his past actions aren't lining up. it's sun's faux-innocent advice that finally pushes him over the edge.

"i'm upset? what gave you that bright idea?" it's pretty obvious, actually. despite managing to keep his body language neutral, his voice is sharp, cutting, "knock it off, sun, i'm not in the mood for your whole two-faced shtick right now." (he does feel slightly bad for snapping at the guy... too late, though).

"People'll pick on you more if they see you getting very upset though." Sun blinks a couple of times, tail moving behind him as he approaches the guy. He's been trying to see if he could do anything to help, but honestly...something inside of him just wants to push the button juuuuuust a teeny bit. "You make it easy to mess with you." Those words weren't MEANT to come out, but it's too late. He's spoken them and there's no take backs!

yuri registers the accusatory finger, sun's loaded expression, and he scowls.

"how am i supposed to know you when you can't even keep your own act straight?!" his irritation doesn't solely stem from his current headaches, either -- he's been concerned about what sun went through, but the other man's forcing him to express it in possibly the least productive way, and at the worst moment. there is care laced in yuri's tone, but it's not enough to make up for being a jerk, "by the way, ever heard of personal space?"

so the swordsman pushes him, just hard enough for some breathing room. he doesn't want to fight -- he has restraint -- it only happened before he could think not to.

he bites his cheek, avoids eye contact. "drop it."

Two-faced shtick, he calls it. Sun has NO idea what he means by that and quite honestly, he's finding himself annoyed and even hurt. He's not sure why, but the thought of Yuri always thought like that? Crosses his mind. He feels as if he really cares and likes Yuri, and while that may be the case--

"You don't even know me." Hm, that doesn't sound right at all. "What about you?" And Sun goes into defense, "If anyone here is two-face...shticking, it's you," he points accusingly.

Maybe Sun shouldn't have kept poking and prodding, but Yuri didn't have to SNAP the way he did either.

"I just wanted to know what was bothering you." And yet he still poked at the holes that Yuri had. Thought it would be fun to mess with him.

Things....may escalate.

yuri looks on with a hint of fondness as sun sweeps his friend into his arms, the naturalness of the display chipping away at his reservations. actually, the celebration reminds him a lot of those he'd had with his friends back home, but that's... a can of worms he'd rather not open right now. those thoughts are thoroughly stamped out as soon as the others approach.

"fuck--" (the kid's still here, yuri) "whoops. hell yeah! 'course we won." not that the self-censorship matters -- she's totally ignoring them now.

he gives wang yi's shoulder a good smack on their way toward the arena's main gates, "you saved the day, hotshot. pretty devious of you to keep those shooting skills a secret, but i'll let it slide. at least you won't have to worry 'bout any embarrassing tattoos this time around."

It's dark and he's been hoisted in mid-air—also really grateful that Sun didn't just throw him or whatever—and the sudden move makes Wang Yi scramble to regain his bearings while pandemonium breaks out.

The girl shoots, Sun can't move, Yuri becomes fall guy in his place; if this was an action movie they'd be working up to the climatic ending right now.

Huh, feels weird to be with the good guys for once.

No time to be sentimental though when their quarry's trying to flee, and Wang Yi blocks out both Yuri's words and whatever Sun replies to aim his trigger just a half-second ahead of her next step. Her target area comes into view and—

"Eat photons, loser."

—he shoots.

yuri's being oh-so-brave about it. brave on the way to the tattoo parlor... brave as the dreaded thing's drawn on him (while the other two watch)... brave as he's forced to look in the mirror once it's over.

sure, it's only semi-permanent, but that doesn't make having two intricately-designed hearts on each side of his exposed chest -- one with sun's name, and the other with wang yi's -- any less of a reminder of his horrible life decisions. even the artist shoots him a guilt-ridden frown before escorting them back to the entrance (like that'll do him any good).

"...th-this isn't even all that bad," did his eye just twitch? and the way he's gripping his companions... nearly vicelike. "hell, we're still here, aren't we? there's still time to get yourselves matching pairs, y'know." that almost sounds like a threat!

Sun has a point (his little kid transformations are cute okay) but so does Yuri, so Wang Yi's left wavering until they see the scores once and for all. He's pretty high up thanks to his shooting skills, but the other two aren't bad either. It's just...he winces at the sight: Sun beating Yuri by one measly point, just because the guy had sacrificed himself to the enemy so they could get the last hit as a team.

Kinda seems unfair in hindsight.

"You know, we wouldn't have won this if we weren't in it together," Wang Yi begins diplomatically. "So I think..."

"...Yuri should just tattoo both our names on him!"

That was small, inoffensive, and still within the rules of the game. Wow, he was a genius.
