it has now been so many years since the beginning of the hyper-awareness-and-"hey this aint new shit youre just seeing it more"-ness that we have a film about the events that transpired in ferguson after mike brown's murder. its a weird sort of self awareness. someone told me trayvon martin changed the world. he just wanted to be a kid. how many more people's deaths have to be the way they change the world until the world actually changes? desensitization horrifies me. in myself and in you and in the tv and in my phone screen and in myself and in you and in everyone else. hyper-awareness has let me happily meet more people that agree with me, more people that recognize every crack in a broken system and every flaw in peoples' character before they show it themselves, but just more and more and more people that 'know these things' and have nearly accepted them. you get clearance that so-and-so is a good person, that they care about the right things and feel the right ways. do you trust they'll fight for it if you will? or you just want to know they pass as a good person? we built a throne for a man who's throwaway words vindicate people's long-reserved oppressive thoughts in droves. we let that happen. how aware can you become until you dont wait for things to appear in front of you, but you seek the evil you claim you want to destroy? but you dont blow off a conversation to avoid people distancing themselves from your standing? how long until you assume guilt until proven innocent in everyone who wears the uniform of the oppression you claim to recognize as wrong? we could scream noallegiance through every screen paralleling mountain tops and ill still fear we're already writing history books telling people we knew what was going on and werent willing to break enough to do a damn thing about it, and we'll fill the table of contents of them with the names of everyone who died or was kept trapped in an undeserving jail while we just shared articles about it.
