★ Timing was an important part in her birth. She was born on 11/11 on 11:11pm, and her mother swears that time slowed down when she first held her. Her father would say the same thing, if Martina remembered her father, and if he were alive to retell the story. She was immediately involved in a dance with time at birth, and this dance would continue as she grew. 

★ Due to her relationship with time, Marta noticed she could stop time at a very young age. However, by doing so, sometimes she’d get stuck in a time loop. This scared her and her mother whenever she came out of the time loop. This was no surprise to her mother though, since her father’s brother - Noah Roscoe - was gifted with the same ability and he could stop time and occasionally travel through it. But she was still worried she’d lose Marta to a time loop. Something that they avoided by having Marta take pills to numb her powers down. The issue was, instead of eliminating the problem, the problem became worse and Marta ended up traveling to a parallel universe for a short stint of time, instead. So, Marta ended up being taught how to control her ability a little better by her uncle.  ★ Her uncle Noah told her she showed great promise. He showed her all the tricks he knew, and then some. He was an excellent teacher and cared for her at the same time. Which led to her controlling her powers a little more. An issue that came up, however, were sounds she heard from others from other timelines. They weren’t ghosts exactly, but they may as well be. They gave Marta a headache. But Marta’s mother, who was familiar with hearing voices — because she heard ghosts — assisted her with attempting to numb them out, too. It wasn’t an easy task at all. And by the time she’d gotten good at bettering herself at it, she’d failed to numb them out completely and just decided to live with them as background noise. ★ At age nine, Marta was taken from her home. Since she couldn’t time travel at will and hadn’t been trained in much self defense, other than to not talk to strangers, she didn’t put up much of a fight. It was from there where she was trained for her time travel ability and abilities to be stretched to their limitations to benefit the place that had taken her. They had placed her, worse than anything, in a time loop, where she had to get out over and over again, and she had felt like she had lost her mind after getting out over and over. Which helped them when they began to erase actual memories from her mind. They then used the fact that she was invulnerable for their benefit and had her train harder than some of the others they had taken. Which led to several years of Marta working as a killer for their corporation. She did as she was told, and she did it without question — until she saw a photo on someone’s fridge of a woman who looked a lot like the mother she was supposed to forget. After that, she took the photo from their fridge, did not finish the job, and left. ★ Initially, her employers/kidnappers attempted to kill her. But since she’d get to them first, and since they knew it was useless after a few attempts, they let her be free. They thought she’d run back since she had no family and no real purpose. But during her walk through New York City, someone attempted to rob a diner, and instead of some big named super hero or whoever else swooping in to stop them — she did. She did it albeit confused, though. Placing his guns in the the frier, and breaking his arms. But she’d done it, and had gotten a job that same day at that same diner. The owner of that diner even offered her a place to stay. Something that should have surprised her, but since she was still new to the world, didn’t really get much of a reaction out of her. ★ Marta liked having her own place. It was small, but not as small as her room in the lab or as horrific as a time loop. She got to listen to music, watch movies, and sleep without worry. Thing was, she got bored after a while and decided to go out again. And this time, she found trouble.

WHO IS SHE?

Marta’s a little clueless to the world around her. Though she’s not dumb, she tends to do things without realizing there are consequences to her own actions and that people will look at her like she’s weird if she does things “wrong” or in an “unusual” way. She tries her hardest to blend in and act like she’s been part of the world her whole life, but the truth is, she’s only really been part of it a year. Before, she was brainwashed and forced to kill or placed in time loops in order to keep her busy or distracted from the world around her. Her main goal was always to go in, kill, and get out. It was never to make friends. But now, she longs for human connection of any kind. She is essentially full of love and just wants to be loved in return, but she can and will kill you with her pinkie if need be, so...yeah. That's Marta for you.
