one thing that's Getting Me Down lately is that i'm apparently (according to the people grading me) a very strong theorist, which is great and everything, that's what they're looking for here, except that it comes at the cost of having no actual periodic or geographic or material focus or interest whatsoever, which makes thinking about dissertation research and actually applying that theory in any meaningful way very very difficult

#screams. cries. throws something at a wall #WHAT i would give to be someone who is insane very specifically about like. minoan ceramics or domesticate osteology or whatever #no. instead i am archaeological/anthropological theory georg. i guess #this is not new at all btw i have the memory of a fucking ant and retain factual information like a sieve retains water #and it's not like they teach us any practical skills at this godforsaken university so what am i to do. hm. what if i want to dig
