isles echoes so much of s1 that it felt like a show play. theres something harrowing as an unknown entity. nothing primordial like the light and dark, or maybe it is. isles wasnt a True universe in the way that mianite seasons 1 and 2 were. it was called mianitian isles. something close, something similar, but not quite the same as the others

it wants to be adored by silly little mortals who will devote themselves to its cause. it wants to be human, but only the shape of one. it wants to be greater than mere mortal beings. it wants to be indescribable.

god fucking bless jordan captainsparklez for very diligently and cheerfully talking about the design choices he is making for his house in isles and why. it is entirely made out of glass and stone bricks and lacks any and all detailing save for minor ones in the ceiling. it objectively does not look very good. i am absolutely enamored with his attitude towards building and this is helping me feel better about my own building skills in minecraft

but here, finally, is my final piece for the 10th anniversary mianite zine! this was a wonderful project to work on, and i'm really proud of what i managed to put together!

i was a little iffy on doing a mianitian isles-themed piece, because i know people have Thoughts on this season/spinoff, but it's what got me into mianite and made me finally get a twitch account and meet a lot of my online friends. so i'll always have a soft spot for it <3

It's me, back again with more wing designs for the mianitian isles boys because I was unhappy that my other ones were just wings with their main colors.

I'm pretty happy with Tom's, I think their very fitting. The embers are only when flying or fighting and when fighting can ignite small fires but thats not super common. Potential alt. design under the cut

Jordan's were SO HARD! I had like 3 other potential designs for them, which are under the cut, I eventually decided on just black with purple and pink iridescent that shines in the moon or under water. Mostly because the plain black can be seen as plain and boring, hiding the true beauty beneath which, to me at least, seems very akin to Ianite and Jordan.

Karl's wings are next, this time I stuck with the color pallette of the older design cause I think it's very fitting (plus a slight yellow/gold hue over the whole wing). His wings (when fighting) can have lighting arching off the flight feathers, it's mostly used as an intimidation tactic as they reach into the sky, but they can be used for battle, like fly by electrocution. He also has alt lighting color cause I couldn't decide

Tom's alt design (doesn't have the blackish hue cause it was a last minute add on) color under the feathers is off but eh I didn't feel like fixing it, should be more firey orange

Jordan's alt designs. Really wanted the purple stripes but they clashed to much with the iridescences which I really wanted. (Also doesn't have pink hue cause that was last minute addition)
