Neurologist officially changed diagnosis to New Daily Persistent Headache. Y'know, the one that literally nobody knows how to treat and can give you daily unremitting headaches for anywhere between three months and five years
She's also putting in another push for medical separation (as much as a Navy doc can, medical gets weird between branches). So. That's fun.
If I hadn't practically demanded to get a referral to an outside clinic I'm pretty sure she would have done the same as rheumatology did after diagnosing me with fibromyalgia: "that's rough buddy. here's a pamphlet." I don't have enough experience with civilian doctors to know if this is normal. Either way, I'm tired

Semi-blind PT#1 (Blue Lions) FE16 reactions: Chapter 5 Complete
I think I’m doing this wrong. I’m taking care of all the exploration/admin work/tasks and then taking a break to recharge before playing the big battle, then barreling from the battle into all the exposition for the next chapter which means I get hooked on the busy work for the next chapter. So by the time I put down the Switch I’m like, halfway through the new chapter.
Anyway...
So, are we just systematically killing off the relatives of all the Blue Lions or what? Ashe’s foster father, Sylvain’s brother... now that Felix has his dad on the scene I’m guessing ol’ Rodrigue is about as likely to survive the game as Jeralt.
(I laughed when I first came across the cemetery and the guard was all “You have no business here yet” because like “Oh, but I WILL” because DUH.)
Speaking of rogue relatives, I’ve been been buttering up “Gilbert” with gifts and cooking lessons and shit to try to land his C-support before the timeskip since I have read that can indeed be done. I was gonna go for Alois but ehhh, Alois has that goofy facial hair and his friendship with Jeralt makes him feel more like a youngish wacky uncle. Gilbert is... yeaaaah, baby. We doin’ this.
(So I guess I am aiming to make Byleth into Annette’s step-father? Oh well, it’s Fire Emblem and we’ve done weirder shit than that. I’ll wager actual money there’s weirder shit than that hard-coded into this game.)
So, tea time. The first ones with Flayn and Annette didn’t go so great so they weren’t that weird. Then I had a “perfect” teatime with Leonie for her birthday (she was my loaner student that month) and with Dedue for his and holy shit it really did turn into a romance-your-students sim, to the point where I was both enthralled and more than a little creeped out. Yowza.
Unlocked a bunch more C-supports by now. Pretty good overall but for the most part I prefer the ones where the kids are getting geeky over history ‘n’ shit to ones like Annette/Felix where the girl runs off screaming. Also, a lot of these kiddos (hi, Sylvain) are very much not happy with the status quo. Should be fun seeing what comes of it.
Dedue, Byleth, Dmitri, and Felix passed their Intermediate exams. I refused to let Dedue go the heavy armor route just like I’m making Ingrid stay the course when she tried to back out of being my Peg Knight. Professor knows best, brats.
I’m being nice to Rhea this PT even though by the end of Ch5 there is very obviously No Good going on in the Central Church. I figure there’s time to get shitty with the archbishop whenever I get ‘round to playing Edelgard’s route. So I’m supplying the Right Answers, giving her feathers, etc. Same goes for being nice to Seteth tho I trust him as far as I can throw the man.
So anyway, the battle at the end of Chapter 5. Yeah, yeah, Lance of Ruin, because what’s a good ol’ FE game without some cursed lance of something or other... and then after a somewhat tedious battle where even the reinforcements spawning didn’t cause much trouble, we got that cut scene. I figured the black cloud was just gonna skeletonize Sylvain’s bad bro, maybe make a revenant out of him.
HOLY SHIT WHAT WAS THAT WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT WTFF
Yeah, so we get a g-damn degenerate dragon boss that can reincarnate multiple times per battle in Chapter F*cking Five??? Thank goodness I was playing on Casual because his final shockwave took out Ashe and Annette even though I’d just healed them up (and Annette did fine work conducting a battalion of fire mages against him). Well well well. The whole battalion thing is coming together in light of this monstrosity.
But good god, imagine Jugdral if the temptation of using a holy weapon did that to the minor-blooded heirs.
On to Chapter 6, wherein Flayn gets kidnapped (because’s what’s FE without girls getting kidnapped?) and I get my first Paralogue. Time for a field trip to Duscur, kiddies...
