"Oh. My. God" rang in their head as they looked up, eyes meeting the green leaf hanging above the two of you, "We don't have to push through with this... tradition if you don't want to..." they said but it came out as almost a mumble. As more teases fell from the mouths of your other friends, you couldn't help but inch closer to them, once you got the go signal you pressed your lips against theirs. It felt warm amidst the cold of the season and radiated a sense of comfort throughout your body.

They stared at you silently, waiting for you to make the next move. Yes, they're interested in you and they know you were interested in them, but they didn't want to rush you. Eventually you stepped closer, tugging lightly on their hand before they tilted your chin. It was a calm, ordinary kiss, yet it made the cliché movie fireworks explode both in your mind and body.

"Well?" they said teasingly, throwing you a sly look as you fumbled around your outfit in an attempt to calm down. They waited until you stepped closer to them, their hand making its way to your cheek as they leaned in and kissed you. It was funny, you could've sworn you were sure they didn't like you back, so why were they kissing you so calmly yet with so much fervor? As you pulled back, you couldn't help the sense of longing as you looked back into their eyes looking like they, too, wanted more.

Despite the small disappointment, the party went on without a hitch. Later on into the night, you spotted them by the balcony admiring the stars with a small drink in hand and joined them saying you wanted a breath of fresh air. "I've liked you for quite some time now" fell from their lips, somewhat boldly even, the sudden confession made your heart skip a beat. A kiss placed on their lips was all the answer that they needed.

They had a mixed expression of shyness and also slightly explosive joy. I mean, they knew that you liked them back but they just haven't had the chance to tell you yet, you know? They impulsively (but gently) took your hands in theirs and looked you in the eyes as if telepathically asking you for consent. Once you gave your permission they immediately kissed you, their happiness was infectious and leaving you feeling giddy once they pulled away from you.

O9. his way of thanks [fanboy!scaramouche x drummer!reader] ⎯⎯ heartbeat rhythm series

the president of the decorating committee, keqing, makes her way to the front of the classroom. "okay, everyone. let's start planning on what we're going to do for this year's school festival. by the end of today's class, we should have our application submitted to the student council. any ideas?"

yoimiya excitedly proposes, "what about a maid café?" keqing smiles, "i don't know if the guys would be up to wearing those outfits." yoimiya pouts in response, "they could be butlers!" hu tao sputters, "that's boring. you know what we should do? a haunted house."

xingqiu glances at the brunette, "that does seem like your forte, hu tao." ayaka coyly suggests with a tilt of her head, "maybe a drama performance?" keqing uses a piece of chalk to list down the possible options on the board. yoimiya yelps, "why didn't you add the maid café idea!?"

scaramouche is sitting a seat away from you, watching you scribble little drawings on the corner of your desk. his pretty blue eyes deeply analyze your actions. everything you do is just so fascinating to him. "president, could you help us out?" keqing queries.

heizou nudges scaramouche, although it isn't enough to snap the male out of his trance. he hisses, "hey, scaramouche!" scaramouche mumbles, "drawing..."

keqing repeats in a confused state, "drawing?" heizou nervously laughs, "ha-ha, i think what he's trying to say is... ah, maybe we should do an art exhibition!" keqing hums, "interesting intake. any opposing of that idea?"

scaramouche finally gets back to the present and looks at heizou, who gives him a deadpan expression. "i just saved your ass! what caught your attention?" heizou whisper-shouts, scolding his friend. scaramouche glances back at you, where you still seem to be occupied with drawing little animals.

heizou teases him in a lilting tone, "of course."

after heizou leans towards his left side to tell xiao about it, the bell signals the end of class. scaramouche immediately stands up from his desk and goes to where venti's sitting. "hey, give me my headphones. you borrowed them long enough," scaramouche seethes. venti exclaims in return, "no way, the sound quality is so nice!"

the shorter male snatches the headset from him and venti frowns. "fine, i already know it's because you can't last a single day without listening to their drum solos." venti's playful whisper throws scaramouche off.

his complexion goes beet red as he places the headphones around his neck. kazuha lightly laughs, "your face says it all, scaramouche." scaramouche is bound to throw another snarky insult while leaving for the next class, however a tug at his sleeve stops him short.

he turns his head and raises his brow in confusion. "oh, (name). do you need anything?" scaramouche queries, trying to avoid your gaze as discreetly as possible. in the background, venti mocks him, "do you need anything?" scaramouche could clearly hear xiao, heizou and aether quietly chuckling.

"well, no, but yun jin told me to give this to you since she wants you to hear how much potential our band has." you hold out a cd in its case, covered in mostly black but with the unmistakenable, classic and iconic dark blue 5O5 graphics.

"she figured that if you did research on some of our past releases, you wouldn't have found our unreleased songs unless you went to our live performance. these are our most recents and we hope that it meets your standards," you politely say, arm sore from sticking out with the cd in your hand.

you didn't percieve the way he clenched his jaw in excitement, the way sparkles appeared in his eyes and the way he pursed his lips to restrain himself from smiling. "i'll... i'll see if i have any time to listen to it after class," scaramouche mutters. he ends up taking it from you and speed-walking out of the classroom.

xiao steps forward and gives you a few pats on the shoulder. "don't worry, that's his way of thanking you."

Ayaka x Yoimiya

Ayaka very much had a comphet stage, but Yoimiya helped validate her feelings and help her though it, this made her slowly realise she was in love with her

Ayaka is good at making fireworks and is practicing her sign language skills so she can communicate with her and her dad

Ayato is very accepting of their relationship, and very braggy, if he gets the chance he'll talk highly of their relationship, Ayaka has always struggled with making friends and she's grown so much and has now started dating.

Yoimiya learns Ayaka's favourite desserts and makes them for her firework shows and festivals

Itto and the Arataki gang probably helped yoimiya confess, if the plan failed, they had a flash mob ready

Cyno x Tighnari

Oh boy would you look at that, anyway Tighnari tummy is real and you know it, he's not chubby but he has a few rolls, and in Cyno's eyes, he couldn't love it more.

Trans Masc Cyno real, Tighnari helps him with T-shots and sorts, Cyno dosent get bottom surgery but he does get top surgery, he just gets his tubes tied.

Collei is so their daughter coded, every now and again she'll go to the kitchen for a late night snack and will find them dancing around kitchen in the refrigerator light... Iykyk. But she just watches before she goes to bed, she probably whisper "cringe" aswell.

Ganyu x Kokomi x Itto

Kokomi bags baddies with red horns, part one and two.

Kokomi and Itto met at the TCG event and hit it off fast, she didn't quite get why gorou was a bit skeptical at first though

And dhe meets Ganyu when the ladies of the jade chamber visit Inazuma for a trade offer.

Itto and Kokomi are talking when Itto spots Ganyu and her red horns. That's how they met, argue with a wall.

Anyway, spooning is a must at bedtime, Itto big spoon for the win, and Kokomi is in the middle, her husband and wife have big tiddies, both are DD and she's only a B, she's in heaven.

We love Ganyu walking in on them making out but staying to watch because who wouldn't with kokomi and itto?

Mona x Kazuha

Kazuha gets absolutely baked and then mona starts info dumping about astrology and the current retrogrades for her column and kazuha couldn't understand shite but just looked at her all dopey with a wide grin, definitely had a make out sesh later on.

Mona ends up moving on board the crux, beidou feels like a proud mother to Kazuha for finding a beautiful and smart girlfriend, she prefers Mona over him sometimes.

She definitely eats more around Kazuha, he either pays or cooks for her. She of course tries to turn the offer down but secretly never minds, aka. Asking if she's hungry and she says no, but he still gets her usual order because he can tell.

Chapter 8

While walking to the cafe,you were really nervous.Its not that you didn't wanna meet Yoimiya's friend,but because you have social anxiety.People often mistake you as a extrovert and outgoing but really,your not.You find it hard to befriends with people,but when you are close to the person,you show them your true self.

Now at the door of the cafe you were met by Hu-tao.Your bestfriend and is also the reason why you met all these wonderful people and your no.1 supporter on doing streams.Sometimes you think that you wouldn't know what to do without her.

"Hey Y/n !! Follow me to our table" she said happily.As I followed her to our table I noticed that the only people on the table was Yoimiya, Kazuha,And Aether.I asked "Yoi where is this person you wanted us to meet?"

"She's late because of her brother.Her brother is really overprotective of her and wants to make sure that she's safe.Dont worry tho shes almost here!" I sat down next to Kazuha and Hu-tao.

A few hours have passed by and a girl went up to us.She had a ponytail and look really elegant and pretty.She sat down to the empty seat which is next to Kazuha.

"Everyone,meet my friend Ayaka!" Everyone welcomed her and said Hi to her.Ayaka was really quiet and I can tell that she is like me.When I was new to this friendgroup I was exactly like that.Quiet and afraid if I might say something wrong.While me and Kazuha talked,I included her into our Convo as I didn't want her to feel left out.

As we were talking,I saw a guy.He had purple hair,kinda short,and most importantly,looked like the guy on Childe's stream.I knew I had to talk with him to ask him questions.I had alot of questions that are still unanswered like "how do you know o/n?" "Whats your name?",ect.

"Guys I have to go,I just need to go to the bathroom" I walked up to him.

Ayaka noticed that Kazuha was slightly sad, "Anything wrong?" She said. "No im fine,just remembered something" "he smiled sadly.

"Kazuha.I know when someone isn't fine and I can tell you aren't.I know we aren't close but feel free to let out what your feeling to me.If you don't tell anyone what your feeling its gonna be heavy to carry.Your feelings are valid." Kazuha was shocked.This was the first time someone actually cared about what he's feeling.

He sighed and told Ayaka about his problem. "Kazu,I can tell that your an amazing and respectful person.You dont deserve what your feeling and most importantly,someone who won't even return back your feelings.Im not telling you to uncrush them.But you'll just get hurt in the end.I don't want you to get hurt."

Kazu..? He thought,someone made him a nickname...? This was the first time someone made him a nickname and he promised to cherish the nickname Kazu.

"Thankyou Ayaka.Im happy that you listened to what I felt.Im grateful to have a friend like you" Ayaka smiled "Anytime Kazu."

A few hours went by and Ayaka and Kazuha were having a convo that felt like seconds. "I feel like Y/n ditched us" Lumine said "I might know the reason,I saw Childe's friendgroup including the redflag guy she had been crushing on". "We should make an nickname for him! It was now time to go home because the Cafe was about to close.Everyone said bye to eachother.

Albedo: By choice, neither. Probably goes to Barbie with Klee if she wants to go. Amber: Barbie first then Oppenheimer Barbara: Barbie Bennett: Tries to see Barbie just because everyone else is, but it's sold out when he gets there. He ends up seeing neither. Diluc: Oppenheimer Diona: Goes to Oppenheimer to seem tough and has to leave 30 minutes in because she got upset Eula: Says she is going to neither but joins Amber for Barbie Fischl: Says she is going to see a smaller, lesser known film but actually goes to Barbie. Jean: Tries to stay back and finish up work but gets persuaded by Lisa to see Barbie Kaeya: Barbie. He goes with Klee and they both dress up Klee: Barbie! She dresses up in all her pink clothes Lisa: Barbie. It seemed fun Mika: Neither by choice, but gets persuaded into it and sees Oppenheimer. Its a lot for him. Mona: Oppenheimer. taking a deep breath you closed the door to your locker. "god.. why can't i get him out of my mind."

"get who out? do you need my ghostly help?" a chuckle rang making you jump. "woah.. calm down __, didn't mean to scare you." you stared at him, trying to process things.

"oh? what are you doing sweetheart?" he asked, watching you take your phone out. "hiii! it's nice for you to call!"

kazuha furrowed his eyebrows, "darling.. you know it's rude to take a phone call in the middle of a conversation-"

"heyyy, it's nice to hear from you, thanks for calling, ya know so that I don't look like a psycho talking to myself." you reasoned, looking straight at him with a smile. "right... smart.. that's smart." he chuckled

"so why'd you call?" humming as you waited for him to answer. "i just.. i just wanted to tell you that you're great.. and i think that you make me a better writer."

you stared at him, frozen in shock as you try not to feel flustered. "i... i think we make each other better kazuha."

"you.. need to wake up. __, you do realize that he's dead right?? Six feet under?? Kicked the bucket-"

"yes, i know yoimiya. i know..." you sighed, a small smile playing on your lips. "but me and Kazuha, we just have chemistry!  we spent the entire weekend composing songs and tunes-"

"__! snap out of it! look face reality, you and Kazuha can't be together.. he's.. basically air." she sighed taking hold of your shoulders. "maybe it's time to look at real guys like.. tomoaki!"

"yoi.. even if he's air to you.. he's real to me. and plus.. i moved on from tomoaki." you sighed, fixing your books.

"well.. goodluck i guess. since tomoaki is coming here right now." yoimiya chuckled. "what- hide me-"

"__, can i talk to you? i wont get hit by any bouncers would i?" he tapped your shoulder, joking.

"tomo! uhh sure, do you need anything?" you faced him, slowly bracing yourself for the worst.

"yeah i just want to say you were great at the party and say thanks for being my partner for the dance."

"it's no problem tomo. is that all?"

"no, no. it's just.. i realized that we worked well together and i wanted to ask if you'd like to go out-"

"sorry tomo... i like you... but not that way anymore. someone.. he holds my heart and.. i think.. he makes me a better writer. better than i ever was.. and-"

"i get it.. guess i was too late huh.."

"sorry tomo..." you bowed, not noticing a certain red-eyed ghost at the distance.

kazuha chuckled, "a better writer huh?", heart beating faster.

2.4 Xiao is Speedy Gonzalez

Written Part Below the Cut

You sighed when you saw that text. You were currently at the university’s track meet cheering Xiao on for the 100m and 200m races. Your guys' plan was to watch his races, and then go and get something to eat afterward.  

It was starting to turn into fall. The air wasn't too cold yet, warm enough to make the races possibly enjoyable (though you can't find anything enjoyable about any form of exercise). You know that Xiao’s race was up next, putting your phone away in anticipation of it. All the other competitors including Xiao were walking out to the starting line. You looked to your right to see a somewhat bored looking Scara, Lumine who looked pumped, and an Aether who was thumping his food in anticipation.

You remember that this was the twins first track meet to watch Xiao, which sent you into a chuckle at Aethers general good mood. Aether had caught you looking at him, and his cheeks turned rosy (you knew if you had asked him at that moment, he would lie and say it was the wind.) When Xiao was at the starting line stretching, he managed to look over to where you 4 were sitting. He waved to all you 4, and you all responded with a loud “whoop” at him. For a brief second, you saw Xiao stare at Aether, and his smile grew a lot bigger and gave another wave at him in particular. Your head snaps to Aether, him waving shyly back, in a trance almost. You reach over Scara and Lumine to smack Aether in the thigh, causing him to snap back in reality, a darker blush now on his face as he looks at you angrily. You start howling with laughter, Lumine following suit, with Scara just simply smirking. 

At this point, the announcer comes over the speaker, stating that the race will start soon. You watch Xiao focus on the race, getting on the starting block and preparing himself. 

*CRACK* 

The gun goes off signaling the race has begun. Xiao easily wins the 200m dash with flying colors, and as he crosses the finish line, the 4 of you stand up and holler at Xiao winning. The 100m was right afterwards, thus you 4 sat down immediately. “Well, there goes one race, hopefully he does as well for the next one,” you say, shoving your hand into your pockets and looking over at everyone. “Holy cow I didn't actually realize how fast he was!” Lumine exclaims. “Yeah, he's been the fastest since high school,” Scara deadpans, used to hearing people talk about it. You look over at Aether, the blush still prominent on his cheeks. You waggle your eyebrows at him, and he sets his face into a slight scowl, to which you just smile bigger at him. He looks at you with the scowl, until he deflates, a smile as big as yours gracing his face, finally understanding that you were just teasing. 

Suddenly, you hear someone yell, “Hey, look it's Y/n!” 

You look around frantically, like a deer caught in headlights. After a few seconds of seeing you struggle, Scara grabs your shoulders and turns you in the right direction, “Over there you moron.” It takes you another few seconds before your eyes lock onto the person. A bright smiled ginger waving frantically as he and the group behind him walk over to you 4. It was Childe, Albedo, Yanfei holding hands with Hu Tao, and Yoimiya. As your eyes scan the group, you lock on to an enchanting pair of rubies looking at you, Kazuha being at the back of the group whom you didn't see initially.

“Didn’t know you guys were into track,” Childe says, coming up behind Scara and smacking him in the shoulder, Scara immediately telling to stop that. “Oh, we're here watching Xiao’s races, he does the 100m and the 200m. The group settles behind you, except for Kazuha, who sits next to you on the other side of Scara. Your eyes go back to Kazuha's, a gentle smile on his face. Your face takes a second before it matches his. 

“Wait, isn't the 100m next?” Albedo asks. “Yeah, he's thought to win this next one, just like the 200m.” Aether replies, with a hint of pride in his voice, which results in you leaning forward and snapping your eyes at him, with a quizzical look on your face. You hear some cackling behind you, Childe, Hu Tao and Yoimiya having found your movement hilarious. Aether proceeds to look back at the track, both of his hands covering his face, and at this point the poor boy is as red as Kazuha’s sweater he currently has on. This results in more laughing out of everyone, you leaning back up right. 

You felt Kazuha lean into you slightly, which results in you turning your head to look at him. “Are you doing well?” He asks, the same smile on his face. “Oh yeah, really tired, just got through a bunch of big projects at work. I'll have like a couple weeks of easier projects before we swing back into things for the next semester.” You reply, looking at him happily. “Well, that's good, can't make it where you are too tired now, can we?” He says, leaning a little forward, resting his arms on his knees, never taking his eyes off of you. You smile and nod, before hearing Lumine speak up. “Yeah, we planned on going out tonight after dinner, there's a really good pasta place near here that Y/n likes, and she's been dying to go back since the summer.” “We'll also do it as a celebration for Xiao, since he's won at least one race so far,” Scara says after Lumine, watching people head to the starting blocks. 

“You have room for more,” Kazuha asks, looking directly at you. Before you reply, you hear the twins start whooping, having seen Xiao head towards the starting blocks. At this point, Xiao seems completely focused as he turns to the guy right next to him and shakes his hands with an auburn haired man. “Oh hey, Heizuo is racing as well!” Childe says, having recognized the other. You raise your brow quizzically, before Kazuha replies, “He's a friend of ours.” You nod, and focus on the race that is about to start. 

Kazuha notices your foot tapping anxiously, and slightly brushes his hand against yours. You jolt, and look up at him, meeting his eyes, kind and warm. For a split second, you completely forgot where you were. His eyes drew you in, and you immediately felt calm. You smile at him, without even realizing it. His warm body next to yours, calming you in a way you didn't realize someone could. Well technically you did, but that was with someone who's no longer here.

For like the rest of this chapter is gonna be a lot more written than texting, but I did have fun writing all of this. It was fun to get my mental juices going.

Finally went back and did Inazuma act 2 on my alt. I forgot how short it is. There's like... four conversations, two cutscenes, and that's it.

Although there are a lot of small issues with the logic and they fall down hard in terms of the pacing of the character arcs, I will stand by my opinion that Inazuma is still a far more interesting story than Sumeru.

Sumeru is just... some evil dudes, of whom we see only one, want to make a god, and for this they choose... Scaramouche? Who is a non-entity except when he vomits out his backstory. And Nahida is there, don't you feel sorry for her because uuh reasons. Don't even get me started on the pointless diversions of going to Ormos (why), the dream loop of time wasting (just tell me the answer up front), and the entire pointless whatever out in the desert (literally exists just to provide one lore cutscene and waste our time).

Inazuma at least has a potentially interesting conflict, characters who have their own varied stakes in it, and they even use NPCs better.

I didn't have any particularly notable observations on second pass, but I did find these points funny:

There's a bunch of small "???" moments if you use your brain while watching this, including the entire situation regarding Thoma being a public sacrifice (???) to mark the 100th vision taken. Like, why did they tie him up, did he resist? Why was he not using a fake vision, like it's implied Yoimiya did to get around the decree? What are the political implications of all this, because it's very interesting if you think about it? In general tho, it's just hilarious if you remember that Shinobu and Itto both did not have any reaction to losing their visions, so maybe Thoma isn't even slightly in danger here.

That said, the escalation is pretty good. I do like the concept.

Teppei is actually pretty cute. And I do think they tried to make you care about the war via both the civilians in act 1 and the soldiers in act 2.

I still find it hilarious that the culmination of act 2 is a "fight of honor" where both sides select "their finest warrior" for "single combat" and then Sara sends three different randos to fight us. I think during the third fight, the resistance troops start complaining that we're doing consecutive battles, but it's dialogue during the battle, so I'm not exactly going to be able to read it, you know? In general, it's worth noting that this duel of honor isn't meant to have any actual stakes. It's just for moral and intimidation, which is why they still have a big battle afterwards. This is in the text, but it's very counterintuitive, so it feels bizarre.

During the cutscene where Kokomi appears, Beidou says she hopes Kokomi can help pay for all these mercenaries she hired and Kazuha calls Gorou an old friend. This is uh sure some interesting implications, but it really does not do an adequate job explaining why the hell they're here. Kazuha's characterization and supposed arc are a shit show in general, of course.

I do recall that the writing quality, such as it is, plummets in act 3. They probably needed 4 acts, realistically, one for Watatsumi and Teppei, one more for returning to Narukami, but I guess at this point they wanted to have the same schedule as Liyue's release? It really did not work out.

Sure enough, the guy that was harassing you backed off

But after a month, you broke up like originally planned

Laying on the bed, you wait for Ayato to be done with the paperwork for today as you read a novel to pass the time. When you were just finishing a page, you hear the door to the room slide open and close, peeking up from the book, you see Ayato taking off his white coat.

"Apologies for making you wait," he says and you stand up from the bed and take his coat, hanging it back in the wardrobe for the next day. You hear him shuffling behind you as you close the door to the closet after putting his shoes away.

"It's alright, the time when there are festivals is when we're both busy making sure everything is going smoothly." You tell him, sitting back on the bed as you put the book you were reading away next to the bed.

Feeling the bed sink on one side, Ayato slides on his side of the bed as you turn off the lights. Sighing in relief, you hear Ayato's quiet voice from beside you. "How was the performance today?" His voice is soothing as you hear a soft meow and you peek down to the floor to see your pet cat.

Smiling at this, you pick up the cat and kiss it on his head, "Tama, where have you been these couple of days?" You ask the cat but you're fully aware of where he spent most of his time.

Tama was Tomo's cat but after his death, you decided to take in his cat and give him a home within the Kamisato estate. Ayato and Ayaka had no issues with having a cat here but Thoma was a bit hesitant on it in the end, he agreed upon seeing how happy you were with Tama by your side.

Rubbing his ear, he purrs in your arms as Ayato reaches over and pets his head before retracting his hand.

"Well, we should get some rest. We have much to do tomorrow." Tama meows at this before jumping off the bed and heads to his bed in the corner, curling up into a ball.

You smile at this before resting your head on the pillow, turning to face Ayato who is facing you with tired eyes. "Soooo," you start, "is it true you want an heir to the clan?"

Ayato froze at this and you let out a laugh at how stunned he looked despite his tired self.

"....did Thoma tell you that?"

You nod your head, grinning at him as he avoids your eyes that had a hint of teasing in them, clearly you were entertained by seeing him flustered.

Closing your eyes, you relax as sleep begins to overtake you. "To be completely honest, I never mentioned this simply because I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable nor pressured into the idea."

Opening one eye and you look at Ayato, "you know at some point we have to."

Ayato shakes his head at this, "no, I will wait until you're ready, the older women just likes to push your buttons simply because they know that our marriage was arranged."

You sigh, turning around and getting ready to sleep, "well, if you put it that way. Next time I see that old woman I won't hold back." Ayato chuckles at this, making a tiny smile grow on your lips.

"I wouldn't blame you" he goes quiet after that and you assumed he was tired and wanted to sleep.

Ayato was in feel thought, he didn't know if he should let you know who sent that woman to say such things to you at the meeting. He found out just by doing a little digging that she was paid by your family. You cut ties with them after the execution of your uncle a couple of years back which also led the L/n clan's little reputation to be taken away.

Deciding not saying until it was the right moment, he sighs and he smiles at your now sleeping self.

"I love you so much, my love. Sweet dreams."

"Oh! A couple of weeks ago, she came personally to bring me a bouquet for my birthday!" The traveler nods at this, Yoimiya was rambling about Y/n. Right now, it was only them two since it was early in the morning after they welcome the second round of guests for the festival. Paimon was off going to buy some food while they stayed by the bookstalls.

Some were already ready for customers while others we just getting their things ready for the day.

The girl raises a brow at the traveler's words, "huh? We are talking about the same Y/n, right?"

Before the traveler could respond, sudden shouting was heard and they both look back to see the author of one of the books they looked at yesterday with Klee, he was arguing with another woman.

The two walked over, "what's with all the shouting?" Yoimiya asked, making the two adults stop their yelling to look over at them.

"It's you two, help me out. This woman copied my title and the storyline from my book and is selling it under her name." He accused the woman who rolled her eyes at this.

"I did no such thing, everything in my book is not fiction like his, I got everything from an interview—"

The man laughs at this, "you're lying! No way you got this from an interview when everything from the title is the same as mine!"

Yoimiya looks between the two, "easy you two, how about you two bring out the books and we'll have the traveler see what's the problem.

The wan groans but agrees to it, "fine, just to show my innocence and it was from an interview I had a couple of months ago." She goes off to her table where there are multiple books.

She keeps up a copy of her most successful book, even Yae was impressed by it despite being a human story. So far, Yae was able to promote it and there was a long wait for it to be published and sold.

The name of the book is, "The blonde samurai and his rose" is a book I got permission to write from the Yashiro Commissioner and it's not a fictional work, it's an autobiography." The woman says, dusting off the cover, the golden lines, and the picture that shows a blonde man, red haori with a white cat sitting on his shoulder while there's another drawing of a woman next to him that resembled someone very familiar.

The man scoffs at this, "The Yashiro Commissioner would not approve of a book like that, see, that title is like min—"

Yoimiya gasps, "wait!? 'The Blonde Samurai and his rose', did I hear that correctly!?" She squeals excitedly, "I've been itching to read ever since the Yae publishing house gave a sneak peek of it months ago!"

The writer smiles at this, "I'm glad the book is still highly wanted."

Yoimiya giggles at this, "well duh, Yae Miko herself praised the book and everyone knows she finds books based on human lives boring so I want to know what makes 'The blonde samurai and his rose' so special."

The man coughed, trying to stir the attention to him, "come on, my book is surely better, maybe she's lying about the Yashiro Commissioner approving of the book."

As he rants on, he doesn't notice any figure looking over at his book, picking one up and looking at the cover, seeming interested.

Yoimiya and the Traveler try to get him to stop but he continues as the figure lets out a hum, "oh? I didn't there were any fanfiction writers here, how interesting."

The man stops and slowly turns around to find Y/n, the Yashiro Commissioner's wife who was looking at his book.

"L-lady Y/n!"

She looks up at this, "oh, my apologies. I didn't mean to interrupt your conversation." She says quietly.

"My lady, it's time for us to leave. The Shogan is calling for you." Thoma walks up to her and she looks at him, sighing.

"Honestly, how many times is she going to keep summoning me? I already gave her my answer." Thoma shrugs his shoulders and just as the two prepared to leave the woman calls out to Y/n who looks back at her.

"Lady Y/n, I was wondering if you want a copy of the book we worked on for a while."

The h/c haired woman is quiet at this, her eyes shot a glance at the book before smiling, "I'm afraid I'm quite busy at the moment but I'll come back for it later, is that alright?"

"Of course! I will keep a book for you."

"Thank you. Thoma, we should hurry."

The two leave, and the traveler is unable to start a conversation with the woman since she did rather busy today even when the performance was earlier, she left as soon as she was done.

"Lady Y/n, she's a wonderful person." The traveler hears this and turns to look at the woman who is putting the book back on the table with the rest of the copies.

"What do you mean?"

"Lady Y/n, she was the one who helped me get to where I am today as a writer. We spent almost three years in contact and she has read all my works and a couple of months ago, she asked me to write a book for her." The woman smiles at this, "even the Yashiro Commissioner pulled me aside and asked me to write a book dedicated to her."

The traveler stays quiet to listen to her, it seems like she was quite fond of Y/n.

"You might not know this, but when Lord Ayato and Lady Y/n got married a couple of years back, there were several people who tried to sabotage the marriage. I remember when the Yashiro Commissioner and I were getting back from meeting for this special project he was working to give Y/n for their anniversary." The woman's face glooms a bit, "when we were told that someone poisoned the water, Lady Y/n, Thoma and Ayaka had drank from the water pitcher that was poisoned."

"Luckily, Lady Ayaka wasn't as affected as Thoma and Lady Y/n, Thoma had sensed that something was wrong when he felt dizzy, Lady Y/n was already unconscious at that time, he was able to warn Ayaka in time."

The woman sighs, "This was the first attempt, only a couple of weeks into their marriage so of course, Lord Ayato kept the Kamisato estate under heavy security. Many attempts occurred but luckily the Kamisatos were able to come out of them safe and sound."

The traveler takes in all this information while Yoimiya sighs, "she's right, I remember all that happened. It was such a big deal too, thankfully they caught every single person behind any attempts against them. Oh! Especially it was shocking to find out who was the real reason behind them too! No one could have figured it was them!"

The blonde girl didn't finish her sentence since Paimon could be heard coming back from her shopping food spree.

"Paimon's back and brought sooo much yummy food!"

Nothing eventful happened the next two days, due to the amount of work a festival could bring, you didn't have time to go welcome the third group of guests, leaving the traveler and Paimon alone with them.

You and Ayato were too busy to even leave the estate for the next few days, only taking breaks when it was time for bed or when Thoma would force the two of you to take one.

Ayaka had left that morning, saying she had to meet up with the traveler and a couple few people for something important, you bid her safe travel to Ritou.

"Are you sure you don't want to come? Mr. Calx is also there, along with a bard from Mondstadt." You tilt your head to the side to look at her but you shake your head at this, "I would love to but your brother can't take all workload all by himself. So just enjoy yourself at the festival with your friends, don't worry about us." You smile at her before going back to work.

She stands there, sighing quietly before walking away, she wants to spend this festival all together since this was the first one you attended this year. But she knew your responsibilities as her older brother's wife, she had witnessed it after all.

When she was younger, you would always make time out of your busy schedule to play with her but as the years went by, you, unfortunately, stopped all of that, in fear that something could happen to her again after the poisoning attempt.

She couldn't remember it clearly but it was very serious, doctors said it had to be a miracle for you and Thoma to wake up.

Luckily after a few weeks, the two were okay and Ayato was able to begin an investigation.

If only she knew of the situation between the traveler, Paimon, and you.

Everyone was at the estate even the one you hadn't seen in many years, Kazuha, stood with them in a room inside the building.

Ayaka was busy explaining the diagram when the door of the building opened and your voice was heard, it seem like Thoma was informing you of something important.

"My lady, the flowers in Ritou for the Ikebana have all withered into ashes for the fourth time today. Are you sure you're feeling alright? Is it all the workload, you should take a break."

Everyone went silent, luckily the door where everyone was in was closed slightly and it was open a bit.

She looks over to see Paimon with a panicked look on her face while hiding behind Kazuha who looked at her confused.

"Thoma, I'm fine. Ayato needs me right now, I can't take a break just because I'm feeling stressed." Your voice was loud and clear, which made Paimon flinch.

This made Ayaka raise a brow and whispers something to her, "Paimon, is everything alright?"

"My lady, don't put work over yourself again. I don't want you getting sick again when we barely have medicine for you, we have to get some from Liyue Harbor soon." They hear the footsteps come to a stop right in front of the room which makes everyone freeze they had no reason to hide when they haven't done anything wrong.

Through the crack of the door, they could all see you looking at the room they're in but you continue walking with Thoma following you.

"Thanks to the decree, it was hard getting your medicine and we had close calls before when To-"

"Thoma," your voice is stern when the blonde was about to mention your best friend, you sigh while rubbing your forehead, "fine, I'll take a break by going back to Ritou to make more flowers but when we come back, I have to get to work again so we can all celebrate the festival together, alright?"

Thoma laughs, "of course, what's been stressing you out lately?"

The two walk back in the direction of the exit, they hear you softly scoff, "let's just say, some misunderstandings have appeared again and I don't intend on fixing them. As long as Ayato's image isn't tainted." Their footsteps fade away and the door closes behind them.

Everyone sighs in relief, "why did that feel like we broke into the estate?" Xingqui says, looking at everyone. "You look especially nervous Paimon, what did you do?"

Albedo questions the girl who lets out a squeak at this, making everyone think that she has something to do with what they just heard.

She points her fingers together in an attempt to make them awe at her innocent face, "ehe, Paimon and the Traveler may or may not be banned from entering the Kamisato estate when Y/n is around....."

Everyone's face goes pale at this.

While everyone is just staring at Paimon and the traveler to confirm this, no one notices that Kazuha perked up at the mention of Y/n's name.

He gazes at the door that leads outside and he fights the urge to go see the h/c haired woman who was heading back to Ritou.

"I.....I thought you liked me...." Young Ayato mutters, his eyes casted downwards on his lap where his hands fiddling with each other.

Young Y/n, who was swinging her feet comes to a stop to look at him, a big confused on what he mumbled to himself. "What did you say?"

Ayato glances up at her before giving her a smile, "nothing....tell me more about your Kazuha."

He could see the way your face brightens up at the mention of the white haired boy who captured your heart at such a young age. "Oh!"

He listens to how you spoke of Kazuha with such a smitten look on your face, your cheeks tint with red.

"...Kazuha, he's so wonderful. He always writes poems and his way of writing is so beautiful." She looks at him, big smile on her face, "You'd like him so much."

Ayato forces a smile at this, "haha, of course I will." Y/n grins at this happily, she had been completely in love with Kazuha at that point, "he makes you smile so brightly, Y/n."

Ayato gasps loudly, sitting up on the bed and he was breathing heavily, catching his breathe. Sweat rolling down the side of his face at the nightmare he just had, an old memory.

Looking down at his wife was sleeping peacefully beside him, he brushes a couple hairs from her face before leaning in and resting his face on forehead, "it was just a dream of the past."

He tells himself, sighing as relaxing in the presence of his wife before pressing a soft kiss on her forehead, leaning back. "I love you so much, I don't want to feel helpless again."

Pulling the love of his life into an embrace, he finds peace while she's in his arms and he falls asleep. The couple sleep soundly, comfortable in each other's arms.

"Hey (Y/n)? Have you seen my beetles around? I swear I just put them inside the box and now they're noooooo-eherm uhm is that a new style you're trying? I mean I'm not saying they don't look good on you just uh daring"

"What do you mean? and no I didn't see any of those beetles around I think Yoimiya took them she's holding a box earlier"

"I knew it! She's always making me look like a fool in front of those kids and now she's stealing my beetles!"

You just chuckled at your lover as he mumbled something about getting revenge or something. Turning around, you resumed your listing of items to purchase for the shop, despite the fact that Itto and his gang consume almost all of the foods you prepare. You kept writing when you noticed that your lover was suddenly quiet, which is not unusual for someone, but hey, it's Itto we're talking about.

Looking at him again you saw that his face is bright red almost pairing with his eyeliner.

"What is it? Did you eat some chili while I'm not looking? I told you the red ones are spicy!"

"No it's uh.. your- well"

"Well?"

"Nothing!"

"Hmm.. fine but I'll find out if you're hiding something or did anything stupid"

Itto appears to be acting strangely today, but you dismissed it as one of his antics when you noticed in the mirror that the zipper on your back is open and you can see practically all of your back bare. Your face feels as though it's about to burst with embarrassment as you glare at Itto.

"You saw my zipper open and you didn't tell me!"

"I thought it's a fashion statement!"

"It's clearly not!"

"They're at it again, seriously those two" Yoimiya skipped away from your door, not wanting to be dragged into the screaming match her friends are having again.

DILUC

"My love? Come here"

Diluc's voice startled you from mixing some alcohols but you still went to where he's standing.

"Sure, but why Dil-oh!"

You slapped your hand over your mouth, embarrassed by the sound you made when Diluc suddenly caressed your back, zipping up your zipper.

"It's open so I uh zipped it up, sorry"

"No! no, it's okay. I'm just surprised" you tried to cover your embarrassment by laughing which comes out rather forced.

"Sure, but (Y/n)?"

He stares at you while leaning closer to your face that you can smell the faint scent of grapes and vanilla.

"Yes?"

"Can you do that again? later when we're alone...here" he pats the table he's wiping.

It's now his turn to chuckle at your flustered state but you can't process anything but what he said.

'did he really just said that? Diluc who's always looking like someone threw a cat at his face??'

"Master Diluc? We need your signature on this order"

"I'll be there in a moment"

He turns to you again. "Later, love"

THOMA

You never expected this to happen to you, let alone on the day you meet the Kamisato Clan! You've been planning the event in Inazuma for weeks, and now everything could be ruined by a simple zipper. You walk around their estate's hallway, looking for anything that might help, but there's no one here, not even the maids who usually roam this area. You can return to your hotel, but the risk of exposing your bare back is too humiliating and may offend Inazuma's conservative citizens.

You were about to make a break for it when you heard a gentle voice from behind you.

"Are you ok Miss?"

"Uh no actually, can I trouble you for some help?" you smiled at him hoping he won't leave you here.

"Sure, what's the pro- wait you're Lady (Y/n). You're supposed to meet with Lord Ayato and Lady Ayaka right?"

"Yes but I have some troubles along the way, I accidentally ripped my zipper from trying to fix my dress and now my back is fully exposed...I don't know what to do. I can't find any of my companions too"

"Hey it's ok! Don't cry Lady (Y/n), I'll try fixing it. I'm good at sewing too so you'll be ready in no time!"

"Thank you! You're a life saver uh- what's your name by the way?"

"I'm Thoma, always at your service my Lady"

"No need to call me that Thoma, you can call me (Y/n)"

"If you insist then (Y/n)"

Thoma smiled at you as he took you into one of the estate's rooms. He began sewing your dress and provided you some robes to wear and tea to help you relax.

"You're from Mondstadt right? I'm from there too"

"Really? That's great! You can always find me whenever you plan to visit"

"I'll take your word for it (Y/n)"

Following that, the meeting went smoothly, and it concluded with a dinner provided by the Kamisato siblings. You took advantage of the opportunity to talk with your new friend, not thinking that the rising feeling inside you would get deeper as the days passed.

"So, Thoma, I guess you'll be visiting Mondstadt more frequently now huh?"

"What do you mean Lady Ayaka?"

The Lady of the Kamisato Clan only smirked at him.

"Look at our Thoma, crushing on Lady (Y/n). Oh how time pass so swiftly, you're a man now my friend"

"My Lord!"

The siblings laughed at his red face as they tease him more after they waved goodbye at you.

KAEYA

"Well, well, well, would you look at our darling knight. You're close to combusting from trying to lift one measly box" Kaeya smirked at you while leaning at the box itself.

"If you're oh sooo stroong 'Calvary Captain', why don't you try lifting one? or you're all bark and no bite"

It's now your turn to smirk at him while wiping your hands at his fluffy scarf or whatever it is that hangs around his neck. He glares at you before patting your head with it.

"Watch and learn my dear knight"

It's amusing to see the flirtatious Captain heave and try to raise one box; you try not to giggle as he only manages to move the box an inch to the left.

"Of course I'm only joking for your own amusement my darling, I can lift this just fine"

Kaeya attempted again, but this time he used so much force that the zipper at his back popped open, and you couldn't help but burst out laughing. You hold one of the chairs as you try to gather yourself, while Kaeya merely pouts at you.

"Fine you win! Stop laughing at me!"

"Oh if only Diluc saw that pft!"

"You wouldn't dare!"

"That's payback for putting salt in my cake!"

"(Y/n)!" Kaeya whines at you.

"But fine I won't tell, now let me fix that"

"You're still giggling!"

"Can you blame me?"

You stare at each other before you both laugh again.

KAZUHA

"Kazuha, love? do you care for me?"

"Of course (Y/n), more than my life!"

"Then stop hugging that bottle of alcohol and fix my zipper!"

Kazuha grins at you as his drunken self topples over his seat, then gets up and sits again.

"No"

"Kazuha you will fix this now or I swear if Beidou sees this she'll think that we're doing something else!"

"But we are!"

You groaned as you deadpanned at your partner, who was now giggling at himself. Captain Beidou threw a party to celebrate the Lantern Rite, and she purchased so much booze that almost the whole crew is now intoxicated. She gets a lot of mora from working for Ningguang, but she's nowhere to be found now that you think about it. Maybe she's out with the Tianquan; they've been spending a lot of time together lately doing Archons know what.

"Kazuha, get up. I already fixed it no thanks to you. Now before I hide all of the bottles, you better get up and move, because I will"

Your zipper was stuck from Kazuha trying to rip your dress open earlier while you're both tangled in a.... specific position.

"But it's the..the what again? ah yes festival! Loosen up my dear, dear (Y/n)"

Kazuha grabs your hand, startling you as you stumble into the wooden floor with him. He only chuckles once more before kissing you and slithering his fingers behind your back.

"Oops your zipper is stuck again"

"Kazuha!"

Playing a pocky game with them always leads to something unexpected but you felt like it would happen. When you were dared to do the pocky game with them, you felt your heart beating fast. Aligning the pocky that was held by your lips to theirs-

was hard. Inside you were shaking, but also screaming in joy. Soon, as you both almost reached each other's end, you felt their lips on yours. They watched your every move from the start, your eyes closed but not theirs. This made you jump joyously, but you didn't expect them to do the same too. And, well, from now on, they tease you about it, everyday<3

Playing the pocky game with them kind of makes you worry, they don't know what to do, and is really, really, really, shy about it. As soon as both of your lips were connected to the pocky, you closed your eyes, your lips nearing to theirs. They didn't move, exactly. Frozen in their place, staring down at those pretty lips of yours. They dozed off, but soon snapped out of it when your lips crashed on theirs. They melted on the spot, face clearly red, but they hid their face after, which made you tease them for the whole day!

Sure they agreed after you complaining and whining, they got tired and eventually gave in. As soon as you both chewed on the delicious pocky, they opened one of their eyes, and took a look at you. God, you were this pretty? They broke half of the pocky since they bit it too hard, asking if they did it right. You huffed and kiss them, telling them, "Yeah! Now you did it right."

Thoma was at Komore Teahouse, listening to gentle pattering of the rain. He was sitting on one of the high stools by the counter as Taroumaru silently kept him company. With a fist propping his head up, he slowly exhaled through his nose.

(Y/n) was acting strangely, there's no doubt about it. When he went outside to greet her and Kazuha this morning, she was genuinely mocking him, which caught him off-guard. She was adamant on earning his love weeks ago, so what made her change suddenly? He wouldn't say that her personality did a 180 since her arrogance is still there, but there's definitely something different about her.

It was as if another soul was residing inside her body.

Thoma quickly shook his head to erase the thought. Sure, the authors of Inazuma love to write novels about reincarnation and transmigration, but there's no way those inexplicable phenomenons could be real. His gaze then drifted to the window, where he could see the rain blurring the landscape outside.

"Haaa... Rain always makes the atmosphere gloomy and serious," he mumbled, suddenly remembering that he had an encounter with (y/n) in the same setting around a week ago.

(Y/n) caught Thoma leaving Komore Teahouse and tried to talk to him, but he merely brushed her aside and ignored her pleas for him to hear her out.

"You shouldn't hate me, Thoma. You should love me instead," she said, clutching her chest with both hands. He stopped in his tracks and turned around to face her.

"Are you telling me what to do with my own feelings?" he asked with a frown.

She took a step towards him, the desperation becoming more evident in her voice. "I didn't poison my maid out of jealousy. I honestly didn't know you were seeing her that time!"

(Y/n) didn't sound like she was lying, and he could see the sincerity in her glossy eyes - but she could be a good actress, and Thoma wasn't about to let himself be led astray by her lies.

"You must have no shame if you think that you can lie your way out of the crime you obviously committed," he said, folding his arms over his chest, "Are you seriously telling me that there's another reason you tried to kill Yuuko?"

"There is! My uncle, Lord Tatsuya wanted to-"

He scoffed, cutting her off. "Save your excuses. I don't want to hear it." Spinning on his heels, he walked away from (y/n), unwilling to interact with her any further.

Ever since she told him that there was another reason behind her murder attempt, he couldn't stop thinking about it. Lady (y/n)'s words bothered him more than it should because he could see in her eyes that she was telling the truth; his keen observation skills allow him to determine whether someone is being genuine or not, and not once was he flawed in his judgement.

But what other reason could there be besides her jealousy?

Nothing was adding up, and then there's her strange behaviour now. When Thoma found her unconscious in the rain a few hours after they had that conversation, he noticed how weak she looked and then saw the phone materialising on her palm, as if it was the work of magic.

"Could that phone be the reason behind her change?" he mused, only to hear Taroumaru bark at him.

(Y/n) sat on the bench near the blacksmith's while munching on the tri-colour dango that Kazuha had bought for her earlier. He was worried that she might scurry off to Tenshukaku to do her thing again the moment he takes his eyes off her, so he got some dango to keep her occupied. Throwing a look over her shoulder, she saw Kazuha and Tomoaki speaking to Hajime about tempering both of their fillet blades to increase their swords' durability.

'So the fillet blade really is Kazuha's weapon...' she thought.

A soft meow from below caught her attention, and she looked down to find Tomoaki's kitten, Yuki pawing at her boots. She carefully picked her up before placing her on her lap.

"What should I do, Yuki?" she quietly asked as the kitten curled into herself, "Even though I was stupid enough to try and provoke the Raiden Shogun, I actually don't want to die again."

(Y/n) has no way of measuring the concentration of poison in her blood, but since she hasn't experienced any severe symptoms yet it's not too late to save herself. She wondered if the villainess knew that her own mother was betraying her - but assuming she did, why did she continue to drink the poisoned tea that was served to her every day?

'Why is this woman so hard to understand? She even did the dance with no pants with Gorou and still loved Thoma. Love is mysterious, I guess,' she thought, huffing.

She felt kind of sorry for the villainess though. Riku didn't give her any of his attention because she was born a girl and instead gave what the villainess wanted from him to Yuito instead; Aino didn't love her daughter properly since she only adored her face that resembled Riku's. This made the villainess work extremely hard to get the approval she wanted so badly from her parents - she wanted to be acknowledged as an individual and not by her name, gender or appearance. She even foolishly thought that if she got engaged to Kamisato Ayato, her family would congratulate her. That's how desperate she was for love and attention, which would probably explain why she was adamant on wanting to be loved by Thoma when she caught feelings for him.

However, Riku had contracted a mysterious illness and died before she could become anyone's betrothed, and she was only eight years old that time. Yuito was too young to understand the concept of death as he was at the tender age of six, so when Riku's passing properly sunk in after he turned sixteen this year, he became the Venti of Inazuma.

'He was just six years old when Riku died though, so of course he couldn't do anything. Why did he have to think that he's useless?' she thought, sighing quietly.

(Y/n) still has a chance to change the villainess' fate. She's not going to sit there like an idiot and cry about how the world had made it harder for her to live. There's nothing much she can do now that her body had ingested dilute poison for three years straight, but with her bachelor's degree in forensic and analytical science, she'll be able to create an antidote for herself. She has some power within the clan as the future head, so identifying the source of the poison shouldn't be too hard. The real issue is exposing Aino and Sayomi for their wrongdoings.

She petted Yuki as she tried to come up with a plan. She can't get close to her mother as a daughter, but if she dresses up as a man to emulate Riku's appearance... She snapped her fingers.

"That's it! I'll become the most handsome villain in Inazuma," she mused, nodding proudly at her master plan, "Watch out Scaramouche, I'm about to take your place~" If it works out, dressing up as a man would compel Aino to stop poisoning her tea for the time being, giving her enough time to develop an antidote and to gather any evidence (y/n) could use against her mother. The most important thing was to not let either Aino or Sayomi be aware that she knew what they've been doing in the past three years or else it's game over.

"(Y/n)?"

(Y/n) was dragged out of her thoughts when somebody suddenly called her name.

"Aish, what do you want?" she asked, lifting her gaze, "Can't you see that I'm-" She paused mid-sentence. (E/c) met golden-yellow, and she blinked at the pyrotechnician standing in front of her; "thinking..."

Yoimiya's face lit up when she recognised her friend that she hadn't seen for three years. "It really is you, (y/n)!" She excitedly grabbed (y/n)'s hands and pulled the (h/c)-haired woman to her feet, causing poor Yuki to be thrown off her lap. "I almost didn't recognise you because I'm used to seeing you in boy's clothes. You've become so pretty now!"

(Y/n) stared at Yoimiya with her jaw slightly slack, unsure of how to respond. The villainess and Yoimiya knew each other? Since she mentioned the villainess crossdressing, did that mean Yoimiya was also her childhood friend? (Y/n) dove into the villainess' memories in search for Yoimiya's face and managed to retrieve a memory that featured their ten-year-old selves. The villainess first met Yoimiya when the former snuck out of the estate to watch the fireworks during the summer festival eight years ago. (Y/n) saw the child version of Yoimiya approaching the villainess with a few sparklers in her hands, claiming that she wanted to play with her since she looked lonely.

'Ah, so she's that kind of childhood friend,' (y/n) thought. While the villainess was free to see Kazuha whenever she wanted, she always had to meet Yoimiya in secret.

"(Y/n)? Yoo-hoo~!" Yoimiya called, waving a hand in front of (y/n)'s face.

(Y/n) blinked as she returned to reality. "Oh sorry, did you say something?"

The blonde's expression suddenly became shy and her eyes flickered away from (y/n)'s confused pair.

"I was wondering," she began, her voice uncharacteristically soft and quiet, "Do you have an answer now?"

(Y/n) arched an eyebrow, genuinely puzzled about her question. Without thinking, she asked, "What answer?" She immediately regretted asking when she saw Yoimiya's eyes widen as if she was in shock. (Y/n) had a feeling that she just responded in the worst way possible to a question that was most likely very important to the blonde. Pursing her lips, she averted her gaze awkwardly and hoped that either Kazuha or Tomoaki would save her from this predicament soon.

Yoimiya stared at (y/n) as her heart twinged. She had patiently waited for three years to hear (y/n)'s answer to her confession on the night of their last summer festival together, but it seemed like she had already forgotten. A hint of sadness crept into her smile, but she wasn't mad; Yoimiya understood how time can easily make people forget, yet she couldn't stop herself from clinging onto the sliver of hope that perhaps her feelings would be reciprocated one day.

'I guess the rumours about her being in love with Thoma is true,' she thought, reluctantly letting go of (y/n)'s hands.

(Y/n) glanced at Yoimiya and noticed that her gaze was downcast. When she opened her mouth to say something, Tomoaki suddenly rested an arm on top of her head, causing her to grunt instead.

"We're back! Did you wait long, my little witch?" he asked, only to receive an elbow to his stomach in response.

Kazuha then appeared next to his wheezing friend and eyed Yoimiya curiously. "Aren't you..." He trailed off, recognising her as the owner of Naganohara Fireworks.

"Yoimiya is one of my childhood friends," (y/n) piped up, "Since you're both here, shall we get going now? I saw a stall selling ichigo daifuku on our way here and I really want to try it." Linking her arm with Tomoaki's, she uttered a quick farewell to Yoimiya and rushed off, dragging the Electro user along with her.

"Slow down, little lady- Come on, Kazuha!"

Kazuha dipped his head in a polite bow to bid Yoimiya farewell before going after his friends.

When he left, Yoimiya turned around to stare at (y/n)'s receding figure. The one (y/n) loves is Thoma, not her; still, she wanted to be selfish by not giving up on her feelings for the (h/c)-haired woman.

"Your fireworks are amazing, Yoimiya. They're able to connect the past and the future for a fleeting moment, and I don't think people appreciate that enough."

Those words increased her passion for her work. If her fireworks can really do what (y/n) said, then she'll happily craft them to help (y/n) reconnect with her lost past. After all, Yoimiya did reawaken her memories of Riku by using his special firework formula slip in the last summer festival they had attended together when (y/n) was fifteen.

(Y/n) heaved out a sigh as she plopped herself down on one of the benches in front of the stall selling ichigo daifuku. She felt awful for leaving Yoimiya behind like that, but the situation was too awkward for her to handle; not to mention, she was struggling to remember what exactly Yoimiya's question was despite possessing the villainess' memories. She cupped her chin, humming pensively.

When Kazuha returned with the ichigo daifuku she wanted, he noticed her sitting with her legs open and gently closed them before taking a seat next to her. He then looked at Tomoaki who was laying on his side with an arm propping his head up as he played with Yuki on the other bench beside them.

"Tomoaki, why didn't you correct her posture? A lady is not supposed to sit like a man."

"She's already acting like one anyway- Ow! Why'd you hit me?!"

Tomoaki had parted ways with (y/n) and Kazuha to return to the inn he booked by the time the sun was setting. Upon arriving at the Onigasaki Estate, (y/n) and Kazuha were greeted with the comical sight of the Tenka Senshi stumbling around like drunken fools. They both watched the samurai in confusion.

"They must have drunk sake," Kazuha murmured, scrunching his nose up at the familiar smell of rice wine. As if on cue, Tsukuyomi appeared, looking exhausted; it was like he just returned from one of the hellish field trips the students of geology would have every term back in her world.

"Tsukuyomi, what happened to them?" (y/n) asked, pointing at the drunk samurai as if they were weird creatures that have yet to be identified.

With a long, drawn-out sigh, he hesitantly replied, "Lord Yuito made them drink three rounds of sake earlier."

(Y/n)'s jaw dropped to the ground in shock. "FOR WHAT?"

"I don't understand his intentions either, but apparently it's to prevent them from making a fuss when drawing sticks for their room assignments."

Yuito is indeed an unorthodox commander.

Later on that evening, (y/n) was making her way back to her room after saying good night to Kazuha when she heard a pair of voices coming from Aino's study.

"Mistress, I suggest you punish Lady (y/n). If we let her walk around Inazuma freely, the name of the Onigasaki Clan will fall into disgrace."

"I don't know, Chamberlain Jin..."

(Y/n) stopped in mid-step when she heard her mother and the chamberlain having a conversation regarding her. Retracing her steps, she tried to eavesdrop on them through the wall.

"I urge you to think about it. Word is spreading fast about the crime the lady had committed, and they are saying that she abuses her knowledge to make lethal poisons. We cannot allow our future head to lead the clan under such circumstances! I only agreed to the decision of making Lady (y/n) the heiress to honour my late master's wish."

'I was so busy thinking about the people I have to deal with outside the clan that I completely forgot there are people I have to confront within the clan too. Jin made a valid point though, the villainess should take responsibility for her maid's poisoning,' she thought, pursing her lips. Since the entire clan's reputation is at stake, she'll most likely have to take some form of punishment to redeem herself and the Onigasaki.

Dammit, why did she have to be reborn as the villainess? It would have been much better if she was reincarnated as Tomoaki's cat instead...

"Then again, Aino wouldn't want to punish her daughter severely since she has Riku's face," she mumbled, burying her chin in her fist, "And if I'm put under probation for an entire month as punishment, I'll have more than enough time to plan what I should do from now on."

"Is someone outside?" The shoji beside (y/n) suddenly slid open, revealing Jin. He had medium-length, spiky dark teal hair with streaks of white on his right bangs, and eyes of the colour of his hair hidden behind a pair of oval-shaped glasses.

'Oh my days. It's confirmed that the male servants of the Onigasaki Clan are good-looking,' she thought as she put a hand over her gaping mouth.

Jin narrowed his eyes at her, and that was when she realised he was waiting for her to explain herself since he had caught her eavesdropping on his conversation with Aino. Clearing her throat, she told him, "My apologies, Chamberlain Jin. I did not intend to eavesdrop on you and my mother."

"What are you here for, Lady (y/n)?" he asked curtly, "If you have any messages to relay to the mistress, you may tell me right now and I'll pass your words to her. I strongly suggest that you return to your room and reflect on your actions while we discuss your punishment."

Man, it really sucks when you have the same given name as the villainess. It felt as if he was scolding her actual self and not the lady.

"Of course. Before I do that though, I want to say that the tea I've been drinking tastes off these days. Do you think you could look into what kind of garbage the servants have been giving me?" she asked, folding her arms over her chest.

Jin's eyes widened, and she raised an eyebrow at him; looks like he understood her underlying message immediately.

Good, this chamberlain has a sharp intuition.

"I'll look into it, Lady (y/n)," he replied, bowing, "Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"Have Miho take Yuuko's place just for tomorrow so Yuuko can rest. She looked kind of pale today." (Y/n) didn't know if Miho was colluding with Aino like Yuuko, so she had to make sure; by comparing the samples of the tea served by the two maids, (y/n) will know who to trust.

"Understood."

When (y/n) finally made it back to her room, she had her hair brushed by Yuuko to prepare her for bed.

"Bring my father's clothes and bind my chest starting from tomorrow morning. I'd also like to have my hair trimmed to emulate his hairstyle," (y/n) said, "Don't forget to tell this to Miho as well."

"Yes, Lady (y/n)."

Once Yuuko was done brushing her hair, (y/n) dismissed her maid with a wave of her hand, and Yuuko swiftly left her room after bowing.

(Y/n) had come to the realisation that if she doesn't dress up and act like a man, Aino will relentlessly find ways to get rid of her since she won't be able to fulfill her role in replacing Riku as a woman. She placed a hand on her chest and expelled a deep sigh.

"I'm sorry, Lady Onigasaki. I know that you've suffered a lot from the tight chest bindings during your childhood, but I have to do this so my plan will work," she mumbled, turning away from the mirror to stand up. She then picked up the inro case Kazuha had given the villainess as a gift on her sixteenth birthday from her bookshelf; it was black and had pink and white cherry blossom patterns, which she thought was cute.

It's a wonder how Kazuha was able to easily forgive her for attempting murder - done for a petty reason too - and she hoped that the villainess would see the error of her ways if her soul ever returns to this body.

"... Hmm?" As she was walking towards her futon, she noticed that Yuuko had dropped a small grey pouch on the floor, and bent down to pick it up. Untying the knot, she peeked inside and spotted fine white powder; it was odourless and had a texture similar to that of crushed chalk.

'This is definitely not powdered sugar,' she thought, knitting her eyebrows together. She suddenly got a bad feeling about this, and decided to perform a test to confirm her suspicions in the lab Riku had built for the villainess to support her studies.

Placing a beaker of water on the counter, (y/n) added one spatula of the white powder into the water. She then prepared hydrogen sulfide by treating small lumps of iron sulfide with hydrochloric acid. She was surprised to discover that the villainess had already prepared various useful chemicals to test for different types of poisons, and she even has the apparatus needed for them.

"Well, the villainess did study toxicology like me," she quietly mused. Her mother's clan, the Yagen has long been the best in poisons and antidotes in Inazuma, and still has members researching them now - so it's to be expected that the villainess would pick up on the Yagen's field of poisons at a young age.

As soon as hydrogen sulfide was being produced, she performed the standard Marsh test by passing the gas through the contaminated water, and a yellow precipitate was formed as a result of the reaction. Her heart stopped.

"This is..."

A bead of cold sweat rolled down her forehead as she recognised the yellow precipitate of arsenic trisulfide. Even though it didn't keep very well, (y/n) knew that her eyes did not fool her.

The Marsh test was positive, confirming her suspicion that the white powder is arsenic trioxide.

"Why does Yuuko have this with her?"

Scaramouche

Ah. Of course.

This isn't the first time someone had rejected who he truly was. Who in the right mind would love a mere puppet? Maybe he shouldn't have revealed this truth he oh so despises.

He thought, that maybe, you were different, that you'd accept him and his feelings, not as The Balladeer or as the Shogun's prototype, but as Kunikuzushi, the forevermore chalked embodiment with a soul longing for appreciation.

But boy, was he wrong.

"I'm sorry, Kuni-, I mean, Scaramouche. But I simply wish to live in peace with my family." His arms stiffed under your sorrowful gaze as you handed him back the bouquet he bought for you. "And, being with you will prevent me from doing that."

"...I see." He looked away as he somehow heard his heart crack into small pieces.

"D-don't get me wrong!" You flailed your arms in concern, "You're a good person! But, I'm afraid I can't overlook your title as a Harbinger..."

You both had gone silent after. Well what could you say? You can't just apologize for breaking a man's heart. Especially to someone who's already as fragile as he is.

You felt your eyes widen when he slowly started approaching your figure. "What are you-"

You were cut off as he patted your head with a small rare smile upon his features.

"It's okay. Your cautiousness is one of the things I liked about you after all." He retracted his hand as he stepped back, slowly donning his hat once again. "I guess, this is farewell, as Kunikuzushi atleast." You noticed his hand gripped the bouquet tightly as he bowed towards you, before he turned around and started walking away, leaving you under the falling petals of sakuras.

What did he mean by "atleast"?

Kazuha

He slowly writhed in pain as he looked at you interact with Gorou. You both looked terribly down for each other, it was so obvious that you harbored feelings for each other that the whole resistance army ships you both.

He clutches the bamboo flute you had made for him specifically in his hand, reminding himself that not all hope has been lost, especially with the look of adoration you adorned him with as he played the flute during a sunset in Watatsumi Island.

"Y/n." You heard him call out from up the trees as you were making your way towards the camp.

"Oh, Kazuha." You smiled as you waved at him, which he took as signal to jump down in front of you.

"There's something I wanna tell you."

"What a coincidence. Me too!" You laughed a bit, too giddily...he thought. "You can go first though."

"I- uh, no. You can go first." He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. Could you possibly be...?

"O-oh well, actually..." You put your arms behind your back as your face flushed a bit. Kazuha gulped at your actions. Are you actually gonna...?

"Me and Gorou started dating!" You giggled happily, as he froze in shock, but alas, you didn't notice. "I actually wanted to tell you this quite a bit ago, since you're a close friend of ours, but-"

The rest of your words were tuned out as Kazuha stood completely still, not quite processing your words.

"You guys...are dating...?" He repeated, still not believing.

You stopped your babbling as you looked at him with a raised brow. "Yeah...we are. Are you okay? You don't look too well." You stepped closer to inspect his horrified look.

His doubts and thoughts spiraled as he tried to wrap his head around those words. He couldn't believe it. No way, he can't. He couldn't believe that...

he had lost you to him already. (this isn't really a rejection but i can't hurt my boy like that)

Childe

"Bleeghhhh! You'll never catch me!" Ajax stuck out a tongue as he dodged a snowball you had threw at him. "You always speak way to soon!" You ran behind a rock to dodge one of his throws as you scooped up another batch of snow.

Playing with him, never felt cold. Even in the everlasting cold winters in Schneznaya, simply being in his presence was warm and delightful, almost like a fireplace, haha. Kinda ironic, considering the sudden chill you felt down to the very bottom of your being when he walked past you silently after missing in the forest for 3 days straight.

He changed.

Just what had happened during those 3 days? It all still remains a mystery to you and his neighbourhood.

You frowned as he appeared before you once again, this time wearing an all too familiar uniform. Way proudly. Too proudly.

"Of course, you became a Harbinger. Of course." You sighed, disappointed with his choices. Where was the boy you loved who would always bring hot bread from his home to yours? And who was this man named Childe, in front of your doorstep?

"I-" His smile fell at your expression. "Aren't you proud?" You looked down at your feet as you spoke up, "I...how could i be proud? When you're now affiliated with the Fatui, as one of their lords at that?"

He blinked. Was this because he had stopped playing with you a few years back? "Are you...angry with me joining them?"

You looked at his lightless eyes as you cupped his face with gentle hands. "It's more like...I feel sad."

"About what?"

"It's nothing you have to worry about." You stepped back onto the other side of the doorstep, keeping your silent pleas for him to come back near your heart, long decided to be unsaid. "It's better to not be know, as it'll probably affect your line of work." You smiled as you tried to close the door, but suddenly his hand had stopped it.

"What are you saying?? I came here since I felt that..." He frowned. "That you felt the same way."

"What way? You mean loving you?"

"Yes."

"Childe." You stared at him blankly. "I'm engaged."

And he fell down into misery, yet again.

Yoimiya

"The fireworks are as spectacular as always, Yoimiya." You lifted your gaze to the sky blooming with colorful lights, "It seems you've went after a romantic theme for today." You say as you spotted multiple heart-shaped explosions in the sky.

"Oh, that's- uhmm..." Yoimiya looked down at her feet, with an uncharacteristically shy voice. "It's just..."

"Oya?" You felt your lips tug into a smirk. "Did our Queen of Narukami find herself a little crush? Mind telling me who has the honor of catching the attention of her majesty?"

"Eh???!" Her eyes widened as she felt herself get hotter.

"Pfft, you should really look at yourself right now." You laughed a bit at her sudden shyness.

"D-do you really wanna know who it is?"

You blinked at her demeanour. "Not if you're uncomfortable with it."

"It's fine." She put down her sparklers as she stood up, fully taking the view of the fireworks. "This person...has always been by my side." She started. "They...had always supported me with my passion for fireworks. Even though I failed many times, resulting in some severe burns, they were always the one patching me up, and telling me that I shouldn't give up, even if I didn't plan to, hehe."

You felt your chest tighten as you connected the dots. There's no way she's talking about...

"Hey, Y/n." She turned to you with a smile that mirrors the beauty of the fireworks, "I like you. I really do."

"..."

"I already know...that you like Ayaka, but...!"

"Yoimiya." You halted her words. You felt your mood dampen with the visible hurt in her eyes. "I...only see you as a sister of mine. I don't think i can-" You sighed, not wanting to have to tell her this way. "I don't think i can see you as anything beyond that."

You could only watch as she smiles to herself, and silently cry, knowing she'd never win against an actual princess.

Hu Tao

"Ah-!" You exclaimed as you felt something heavy jump on you from behind.

"Hello, my lovely Y/n!" She giggled as she stuck on to you like a koala, "Nice to see you today!"

You sighed as pried her off from you. "Hu Tao, not now. I'm busy." You heard her huff as she crossed her arms.

"Collecting debts is sooo boring! Why don't you come work at the parlor instead?" She winked at you, as if she just suggested some completely genius. "I'll give you an extra bonus on your pay if you bring new customers, ehe!"

"Stop disrupting my work. Besides, the Tsaritsa has given me enough money already."

"Then why continue working for themmmmm, boo hooo!"

"Hu Tao, just leave me alone. I don't feel like dealing with you today."

She felt a pang in her heart, yet her smile didn't waver. "Oh, come on! Just admit it, you like me being around-"

"No. You're annoying." You stated as you looked towards her. "I seriously don't get why you keep going after me. Can't you go annoy someone else, like Zhongli?"

Her ruby eyes widened at your harsh words. "I-I just wanted to-"

"To cheer me up?" You fixed your position to fully face her. "Being in the Fatui has shown me all the ugly sides of this world. You're only constantly reminding me of my siblings that I'll never see again."

Hu Tao looked down at her feet, knowing fully well that she did nothing but pester you.

"My anger towards you right now may be misplaced, but you'll need to know that I also need space."

"I already know all of that." She spoke up, with a new determined look in her orbs. "It's precisely why I keep insisting you to be with me so you could be happy. You're all alone...and i just wanted to change that."

You frowned at her words, "Why are you trying so hard to-"

"Because I love you!"

Your eyes widened as she gritted her teeth. "I've always loved you!"

"Hu Tao."

"-Ever since that time you found me at Wuwang hill, and helped me move on from my grandfathe-"

"Hu Tao."

She looked up with tears prickling her eyes.

"If I were the same person all those years ago, I would've accepted your confession with no question." You looked down at your own feet this time,

"But unfortunately, I'm not the same as I used to be."
