"Europe shouldn't be so dependent on the States for protection anyways" yes, very true, I am the biggest supporter of Eurofederalism and a more militaristic branch of the EU (and beyond), but that shit takes time and requires brave politicians in Brussels and on a national level in all countries and for the time being, I'd have preferred not to worry about getting carpet bombed because the supposed leader of the free world self-admittedly doesn't give a single solitary fuck about NATO.

Trump is literally on record in this campaign saying that no one would help them out if they were in trouble when in the entire history of NATO, Article 5 has been used exactly once and it was by the USA after 9/11. I'd know; helping out in the war on terror was one of my country's "tests" so we could join. It was a dream of so many people for such a long time and now, with Trump kissing Putin's ass as passionately as he can, Eastern Europe can kiss that security goodbye.

This is why we care about US elections, beyond the simple empathy with a lot of people who live there and whose lives, come January, may become a lot more complicated, especially when it comes to women because, for some unfathomable reason, a secular country with no official religion leans on the Bible to decide whether its citizens can have bodily autonomy.

And all of that because, in the US just like it is, unfortunately, everywhere else, people just straight up hate women. You could be the most qualified (and overqualified) leader possible, have all the right policies, all the right communication in a campaign and still lose because some convicted felon and actual rapist happens to be a man. That's all there is to it.
