i stopped waiting for the other shoe to drop when it comes to turning out anything like the adults in my life growing up. proud of us for that. we make an active choice to heal and learn and unlearn and grow. we make an active choice not to look away from suffering and take actual action in ending it. one of the most surprising parts of growing up was realizing how much choice these people had. and how truly little we did.
