Okay, going to mention both versions of Cyp when I answer this one since they're a bit different: Main canon Cyp is a terrible liar, mainly because he just...really doesn't do it at all and thus has zero practice. If he wants to hide something, he just won't answer--he doesn't bother lying to you about it. He's quiet enough anyways that it's a passable technique--sometimes. In the AU where Cyp's Commander, he is honestly just as bad at lying, but far fewer people know that. He has fine enough control over his emotional projection ability that he can more or less make most people believe and trust him, no matter what he says, should he want to. He doesn't do it often, though. 🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it? Cyp really wants a purpose. He's kind of made one for himself by being a vigilante, but he also would have had a Wyld Hunt if he'd woken up on schedule. He can't remember the details, but he knows that it existed and resents it, both for the loss of a potentially easier path and for the different version of his life that was stolen for him. He's so dedicated to his vigilante actions against the NMC and the Inquest because he's angry, justifiably so. But that's not really the same as having an end goal or a long-term purpose in life, and he knows that. He just doesn't know how to get there. So the answer to the second question is that he'd go pretty far if he even had a clue where to start. Meeting and rescuing Ia ends up being the starting point, but he still does a lot of fumbling in the dark. 🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears? His biggest fear is returning to the state he was in while asleep in his pod--helpless but still partially conscious of what's happening around him. Along those lines, for a more irrational fear that's an offshoot of that one, there's also a part of him that's afraid that he'll never be able to move again if he ever stops. He's always bouncing his knee, if he's sitting, or tapping his fingers on something. (Side note, Cyp--as of now--hasn't struggled with sleep paralysis. But he would HATE that vehemently if he ever were to experience it.)

I mentioned the Hopper woman a few times , but I never actually showed them during this legacy  (mostly because I was fixating on all finishing everything on the check-list for Ava’s generation). So better late then never! 

Minister Julian Hopper married Fabala Hexley , a descendant of Sir Redmund Hexley , the wizard who founded New Moon Coven after graduation. They had their daughter Adaliza following year. As for most mage families , having more children is a struggle of it’s own , and both Julian and Fabala count themselves lucky to end up with three beautiful children, even with the enormous age gape. While Julian worked at the Ministry , Fabala went to social gatherings and charity events to boost the family name within the magical world. 

Adaliza was the apple of Julian's eyes from the day she was born. He spoiled her rotten and treated her like she was a princess. Adaliza was raised to be a proper pure-blood witch , though she didn’t share her parents erratic believes of pure-blood supremacist. Adaliza worked at the ministry archive sorting documents and filling , her father could easily get her a higher position but she said no. Though she was used to the high and glamour of being the ministers daughter ,she enjoyed the quite and the smell of dusty books and tomes. She met Stephan Pettigrew , a police officer working for the ministry one day at work and there was a instant connection , and after a few dates they got engaged. Neither Julian or Fabala really approved of the match , but at the time there were very few single mages living in New Moon Coven at the time. 

If Adaliza was the angel , Mabill was the black sheep. Unlike her pretty and proper sister , Mabill was rebellious , unkempt and was a dare-devil. At the time she was captain of the Hexley Broom Riding team and a star player, which was the only thing her parents were proud of. Mabill was against everything her parents believed in and hated the small town life and had big dreams of stardom. Julian and Fabala were extremely close to send her off to boarding school , but realized that if they did they would lose the whole broom riding season , so they disciplined her in other way. 

And Percival... You all guys know this lunatic.

After Julians death , Adaliza married Stephan and had two children together. Mabill lived with them until she aged up to a young adult and left NMC for good.  Both the girls didn’t side with Fabala false accusations of Ava murdering Julian , so they were disowned from the family. Percival was raised by a angry , crazy and grieving mother which lead himself to drown in his own hatred. 

I hope you guys like getting to know this family a bit more. This family is a broken , toxic mess now but things could have been different. Here is also a thing , disownment in the mage world is different from our world , it’s basically a curse needs to be put on the individual making sure that you can’t socializes with the the ex family. 

Meaning that Adaliza can’t talk with anyone of her brothers family without get extremely hurt , so she keeps herself away. The only person that can break the curse is the one who cast it , and that was her mother , who is dead. Spells have a everlasting effect until the caster says so. Words are mighty my friends , especially in the magic world.

Innes Talovaire (A Mage Reborn) • the interesting thing about her choice is that it would be different pre-resurrection than post-resurrection so this answer is mostly post-resurrection. there is no official LI for her atm but no matter who she romances the answer would still be the same. the world has done nothing but bring her pain, and after the way their treated her she feels as if she owes nothing to them so she would not feel guilty at all about for sacrificing the world. *pre-resurrection she would have saved the world, unless Eli was alive in that case she would have saved him*

Maeve Peg'asi (Andromeda 6) • it comes as no surprise to me that she would save Damon but it was surprising that she would feel a bit of guilt about it. the world has not done anything to her, it mostly just came from her family, so she would feel bad to bring this to them, especially to the crew. she wouldn't exactly regret her choice but it would take a while for her to stop thinking about it.

Brynn Delvaux (When the Night Comes) • she would definitely struggle with this one. her reflexes would have made her save the world since she is a hunter and that is what they are taught to do but in the end she would save Alkar because her love for him is stronger than her sense for duty. she would mourn the lives lost, of course, but she would not feel guilty or regret her choice.

Kira Seong (Perfumare) and Jennifer Jones (Sentinel) • their reasoning would be the same: Reed and Shaw are all they have. they wouldn't even hesitate. Jennifer, however, would feel guilty for not even thinking about it but not guilty enough to regret her choice.

Amaris Voight • it angers her. it angers her to be in this situation and it angers her to be this conflicted about it. she's a hero, she's done so much for the citizens and has given up so much for them but they love her since she is their savior... but what kind of savior is she when she's thinking of sacrificing them to save the villain that she loves? she would wait until the last moment possible to make her choice, if only to decrease the guilt. would she regret her choice? only time will tell.

Blaise Montague • he has waited for Eden for so long. has found her time and time again in every single one of her lives. he knows she will come back, she always does. but he will not risk it. he wouldn't even hesitate. would not need to be asked twice and he doesn't need to confirm his choice. he will save her, he will always save her.

Kai Morgenstern (Keeper of the Sun and Moon) • this one came as a surprise for me the more i thought about it because Kai doesn't really care about the world, especially NMC since they gave her no other choice but to stay while all she wanted to do was forget what had happened and go back to her old "boring human life" where all she had to worry about was passing her finals in college, not what kind of creature will try to kill her next. and she loves Leon, she really does, and she would do everything for him. but saving the world means saving her dad and her aunt, and Kai would never forgive herself if something were to happen to them because of her. she would be devastated when making the choice and would even apologize to Leon but she wouldn't change her mind. *however if the choices were to save the people she loves or save the world then she would not hesitate to save her loved ones*

Connie Navarro (Keeper of the Sun and Moon) • don't do this to her, she can't take it. she's a keeper so it is her duty to save the world but Altair is the love of her life and she can't do that to him. she would have to be consoled by Altair or her mom or literally anyone around her but she would eventually choose the world. she would be saying "im sorry", "forgive me" and "i love you" to him over and over again until it happened. this made me so sad but this would honestly change her. she would try to justify it, to say that it was one life vs millions but whether she's trying to convince herself or everyone else...

Aspen Peg'asi (Andromeda 6) • i was going to do Aspen until i realized her answer would be the same as Connie, just changing Altair to June. though she would take it the worst since June saved her and she couldn't do this for him.

Angelina Hawthorne • out of everyone here, she's the one most likely to actually regret her choice. she is a hero, she has protected her classmates countless of times and even fought a war for the freedom of people so between her and Brynn, Angelina is the one that actually goes with her reflexes and saves the world. that is her undoing in the end, not actually trying to fight it and make a different choice. the more people mention it, the more she breaks.

Dorian Sinclaire • he is a hero, the son of Zeus. he has been taught since a very young age to fight for the people, to give up everything for them. and he would. the only consolation he has is the fact that his partner would do the same. however, he will try to forget about it and would snap at everyone who mentions it. will take the "ignorance is a bliss" to a whole new level.

Everything happens twice.

First in your dreams, then in reality 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

It’s been almost 4 years since I came over to the UK for work. As much as I wanted to say that it’s a dream come true for me, the truth is, it was never in my plans. It was more of “i’ll try. If it’s meant, it will happen” kind of experience. Starting the process wasn’t easy at all. I found myself half hearted about my decision to take the initial step- the dreaded IELTS exam. I had very limited resources and I told myself that I only have one shot to get the scores I need because if I fail the exam, I won’t be able to pay for another one. I must have the beginners luck because I got all the scores I needed after my initial take. It was an overwhelming experience for me. It’s probably one of the things I am very much proud of.

After all the joys, I had to move on to the next hurdle, the computer based test. This is the part that almost made me emotionally battered. Not because the test was hard but because the process was harder. There was a glitch in the system and I haven’t received any authority to take the test. I had to phone NMC here in the UK and Pearson Vue based in Singapore to try to sort things out. I did spent a fortune in making those international calls. Then, a day after my 25th birthday, I finally got the email that would allow me to book my exam and luckily enough, I passed it. All the tears, money and hardships were worth it. Another milestone. Another step forward.

The next big step after the second exam is the assessment of all the professional documents. I had to go back to the Professional Regulations Committee to get them to verify my professional status in the Philippines and send the confirmation to Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) of the UK. I had to ask my brother to get a copy of my transcript of record from my beloved alma mater- St. Paul University Iloilo and again, send it to the UK. I also asked my two senior nurses to be my references from my current employment then. Just when I thought that everything was going smooth, my then employer- Cardinal Santos Medical Center, made a sudden decision to get nurses to resign before they give you any signatory (dry seal for my paperworks in my case) for any documents that you will need in applying for a job abroad. I felt helpless as I thought it was too early to resign but I found a beacon of light through our chief nurse. I made a letter explaining my situation and thankfully, she backed me up and I got the dry seal that I needed. All documents successfully sent to the UK. The waiting game begins.

They say, waiting is not wasting. It’s an opportunity for learning. My patience has been tested several times during this period. I became paranoid but I found refuge in my faith. I had been actively participating in a Catholic charismatic group called The Feast. Though the wait was long, the moment I got my decision letter from NMC, it was like a purpose driven success for me. I was over the moon. I got my approval, I gained new friends and I felt like I was a better person. A more patient one.

I was on the edge of glory and was about to start processing my entry visa to the UK when another problem confronted me. There has been a temporary halt with the issuance of working visa by the UK government. In other words, my UK employer was unable to get a sponsorship for me and my fellow applicants as the British government tries to control the influx of foreign workers then. In short, I might not even make it to the UK. During this time, I realised that this opportunity is probably not meant for me. I’m a firm believer of the notion that if something was meant for you, the universe will conspire to make it happen. In my case, I felt like the universe has turned it’s back against me. Suddenly, everything went into a blur.

Uncertain on how things have exactly happened, one day I woke up with an email from my agency that the visa has now been approved. In a span of few days, I had successfully submitted my resignation, I went home to see my family in the province for a good few days and I found myself boarding the plane headed to the place where I was hoping for my dreams to happen. I had the thought of the Angel of the North embracing me. Never felt that good for so long.

Arriving in the UK was like a dream. It was 0 degrees. For someone who was in a tropical place all his life, this was extreme but I was enjoying it. Seeing snow for the first time- surreal!

If this was a marathon, I was down to the last kilometer of the run. The most crucial of them all. The make or break. The OSCE.

Being a Filipino nurse, we were trained like circus animals. We learned through fear of a whip (not literally though). We had loads of return demonstrations back in our universities and colleges in the Philippines. OSCE is the practical assessment of the NMC to check if one’s nursing skill is at par to the entry level nursing in the UK. It wasn’t easy at all. The nerves were all over the place and tears were present after the assessment. This time though, the universe conspired for meand I passed the exam at first take and eventually became a registered nurse here in the UK.

God usually gives his hardest battle to his bravest soldiers. 4 years in service and i’m still happy. This experience made me realise that I’m a different person than who I was. I’m tougher, braver and stronger. May this experience inspire others to chase their desires in life. Never give up easily and keep moving forward.

Let me end this by saying, this is not the end of it. It’s the start of something amazing.

I have some kitsune questions: How common are they compared to the other species in NMC? What about worldwide? How do the other species view them and how do they view other species? Will we get to meet any?

Kitsune aren’t very common, either in NMC or worldwide. They’re generally viewed by other species as elusive and rather manipulative. Their views of other species vary. All MCs will have the chance to meet some in the sequel, and kitsune MCs will have the chance to meet one in Keeper of the Sun and Moon itself.

KSP Weekly: The Orbiters!

Welcome to KSP Weekly! On August 10, 1966, the Lunar Orbiter 1 was launched from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 13 aboard an Atlas SLV-3 Agena-D to become the first American spacecraft to orbit the moon and the first probe to map the Moon.  As part of NASA’s Lunar Orbiter Program, it was designed primarily to photograph smooth areas of the lunar surface for selection and verification of safe landing sites for the Surveyor and Apollo missions. It was also equipped to collect selenodetic, radiation intensity, and micrometeoroid impact data.

The spacecraft acquired photographic data from August 18 to 29, 1966, and readout occurred through September 14, 1966. A total of 42 high-resolution and 187 medium-resolution frames were taken and transmitted to Earth covering over 5 million square kilometers of the Moon's surface, accomplishing about 75% of the intended mission, although a number of the early high-resolution photos showed severe smearing. It also took the first two pictures of the Earth ever from the distance of the Moon. Accurate data was acquired from all other experiments throughout the mission. Below you can see the first image of Earth taken from the Moon by the Lunar Orbiter 1 probe.

The spacecraft was tracked until it impacted the lunar surface on command at 7 degrees north latitude, 161 degrees east longitude (selenographic coordinates) on the Moon's far side on October 29, 1966, on its 577th orbit. The early end of the nominal one-year mission was due to the small amount of remaining attitude control gas and other deteriorating conditions and was planned to avoid transmission interference with Lunar Orbiter 2.

The following four missions of the lunar orbiter program were also successful, and collectively they mapped 99 percent of the surface of the Moon from photographs taken with a resolution of 60 meters or better. The first three missions were dedicated to imaging 20 potential manned lunar landing sites, selected based on Earth-based observations. These were flown at low-inclination orbits.

We continue to be hard at work on Kerbal Space Program 1.5. As we mentioned last week, one key aspect in this update is going to be the standardization, optimization, and make-over of various graphical assets within the game. As part of this task we looked back at one particular item that looked a bit outdated after the addition of the vintage space suits in the Making History Expansion; we are talking of course of the EVA Space Suits, which are now being given a well-deserved overhaul. We knew that such an iconic element of the game needed to stay true to its identity, so we are keeping its style, while also giving it a sleeker look. In the image below, you can see a comparison between the old and new EVA suits.

As you can see, not only the suit itself looks better, but the jet pack received a refurbishment. You may also notice that there are two variations on the new EVA look, and here is where you come in… in good old fashion KSP tradition, we will let you choose which variation will be the definite one, so enter this poll to vote for your favorite one. The poll will remain open for a full week and we’ll make the results public in the next KSP Weekly, so stay tuned, and most importantly, help us decide! Bug fixing was also in our agenda this week and as such, the team looked at a bug that caused the ambient sounds in the editor to disappear when a user switched between the VAB and the SPH during a new sandbox game. This was particularly noticeable if the music was switched off.

Explanation: This Long March-5 rocket blasted off from the Wenchang launch site in southernmost Hainan province on Tuesday November 24, at 4:30 am Beijing Time, carrying China's Chang'e-5 mission to the Moon. The lunar landing mission is named for the ancient Chinese goddess of the moon. Its goal is to collect about 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of lunar material from the surface and return it to planet Earth, the first robotic sample return mission to the Moon since the Soviet Union's Luna 24 mission in 1976. The complex Chang'e-5 mission landing target is in the Oceanus Procellarum (Ocean of Storms). The smooth volcanic plain was also visited by the Apollo 12 mission in 1969. Chang'e-5's lander is solar-powered and scheduled to operate on the lunar surface during its location's lunar daylight, which will last about two Earth weeks, beginning around November 27. A capsule with the lunar sample on board would return to Earth in mid-December.
