Break, Future and Skin

for Ma'Atae and Niriol

break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?

I think Atae would be hard, the whole process of burning out was probably their lowest point and they kind of just figure that not much else will be worse. Psiionic sparks can be painful and if they happen close enough together they could likely trigger a breakdown.

Niri is easy! she breaks down easily when it comes to her fans. some of them are pretty aggressive, even after she's been publicly dating someone. she becomes a blubbering mess and her moirails or kheron likely would have to step in to allow her to calm down at all. all her quads and quite a few of her fans have probably seen it, but it's likely that she just ends up Turning Into A Dog before she gets to that point

future: What's the worst possible future for your OC? Are they taking steps to avoid that outcome? Are they even aware it's a possibility?

atae's worst outcome would be them being stuck back into a ship and being killed in the process. honestly, atae served the angst tax before formation, so honestly they're just. Safe until i come up with something awful

niri, however, involves all the sorts of things a creator can fear from their fans. she's constantly aware of the possibility, specially after the incident with her stalker fan. she got a new security system for her home and rarely goes out without at least one of her quads knowing where she is or with her.

skin: How comfortable is your OC in their skin? Do they grapple with anything that lives inside them—a beast, a curse, a failure, a monster? How do they face the smallest, weakest, most horrible version of themself? Are they able to acknowledge it at all?

both of them are rather comfortable with how they are, though niri does struggle a bit with the whole dog thing. it's weird for a seadweller to turn into a land mammal, even if her dog form does still have gills and fins.
