Captured Hearts
Bada Lee x Masc!Reader
Synopsis: it was time for another promotional video shoot for the Street Woman Fighter 2 in collaboration with MAC cosmetics and W Korea
Cw: suggestive, fluff. POV might be all over the place — switching from 2nd to 3rd Person POV— because I'm indecisive.
All real names and businesses mentioned in this story are only used as characters, the following scenes in this story is purely fictional and does not reflect to the real lives of the people and other entities mentioned.
The whole set is bustling at how busy everyone is. People are walking around, carrying heavy cameras, lights, bags and crates full of equipment.
All the staff are excited to work with the guests that will be arriving today, the leaders of Street Woman Fighter 2 are coming together to endorse the brands: CK and MAC.
The stylists prepares their stations and the clothes the 8 women will wear while the camera crew sets up a few lights, and video camera to document the styling process later.
"Where is Y/n?! That girl should be here by now, our guests would be here any minute and our photgrapher is still nowhere to be found!" The director shouts at everyone as some of the staff fumbles on their phone trying to get in contact with the said photographer.
"I messaged her, she said she is still waiting for a cab, she'll be here in 15 minutes" one of the staff nervously answered. The director rubs his temple before letting out a frustrated sigh.
"Tell her to be here in 10 or else she's fired!" The director shouts, just in time the door opens, revealing 8 women who are admiring the spacious set up.
"Hello! Welcome, we are so happy that all of you are here now. Please right this way, the staff will lead you to your dressing room now" the director's expression changes as he greeted the leaders and ushering them to follow one of the staff members.
"For the love of God and everything that is holy, take your time with their make up, do it as slow as possible, we need to buy more time before Y/n arrives." The director whispered at a stylists.
The door opens abruptly for the second time revealing the girl they were all looking for, Y/n arrives at the scene wearing a baggy white shirt and gray sweats as the straps of her camera bag is wrapped around her shoulders.
"Finally, the guests are already here, where have you been?" The director approaches the photographer. "Jeez do you know how bad the traffic was? I had to run down the street just to arrive here on time" the girl answered.
"I don't need your excuses, go to the dressing room already and take some behind the scenes shots. NOW!" The director quickly pushed her to the dressing room, making her stumble on her feet as she enters it.
Everyone looks at Y/n because of her sudden entrance, awkwardly the photographer bowed as she mutters an apology to everyone.
"Woah, she look so handsome" Funky Y muttered to Halo, and she just nodded in agreement. The leaders look at you and admire your charisma.
"She gives me the same vibes Bada has, not gonna lie" Kirsten said which made Bada look at the girl, before smiling shyly.
"Uhmm, hi I'll be your photographer for today's shoot. I'm Y/n by the way." You bowed to everyone as the leaders welcomes you.
The stylists started getting everyone ready, as you go over each of the leaders, documenting the behind the scenes.
The leaders hyping each other up as they all saw each other in their sexy outfits and you captured each moments...
But it seems that you also captured the leaders' hearts, especially one leader in particular... Bada Lee.
The leaders were now ushered in front of the white background set up.
"Ladies, look at all of you looking so beautiful." The director once again welcome the leaders "We'll start now with the shooting, our dear photographer here would gladly lead you to what you need to do" he pointed at you who is busy setting up your camera.
The leaders are excited to work with the handsome photographer as they now step in the camera, waiting for the instructions.
Y/n walks to a speaker and connects to it before playing a random song on spotify. Once the dancers heard the beat they immediately move to the rhythm albeit being confused.
"There we go!" Y/n started hyping the dancers up as she starts rolling the camera. "Just do your own thing, dance" The girl instructed to which the leaders followed, moving to the beat, almost like playing around.
After a few shots, it was now time for their solo shoot, the music still playing as one by one posed for the camera, looking at the lenses seductively.
Y/n couldn't help but blush behind the camera as the attrative women seems to flirt with her, hoping that the leaders doesn't notice it whenever she takes close up shots of them dancing
Soon it was Bada's turn. The leader of Bebe started dancing, swaying her hips. The other leaders hypes the girl up which boost Bada's confidence, moving more seductive now as she moves closer to the camera.
Y/n could swear she stopped breathing right then and there. "O-oh nice, that's it" she stutters which everyone at the set had caught on as they all started laughing.
"Ms.Photographer got shy all of the sudden" Nob and Mina cheered, making you blush even more.
"Bada, take it easy, you're making the poor girl flustered" Lia teased, you had to put down the camera for a while as the director joins in teasing you.
"Ahhh so cute" the two international leaders gushed over at your flustered state. Bada smiles sweetly to you, before you started taking photos again.
After shooting the final shot, it was time for a short 10 minute break for everyone. The leaders started approaching you as showed them some of their shots.
"Oh look how sexy this shot is" Akanen pointed out to a clip of Bada, Lia and Kirsten swaying their hips as their hands is tucked inside their pants'.
Bada smirks as she saw how you zoomed in on her ass and body in that shot, as the others fangirls over them.
"Ms. Photographer really did a great job" everyone agrees, even the director that was about to chew you alive earlier. You cower away, not knowing how to take the compliments that they were throwing your way.
Soon the break ended and the dancers are changing their outfits, that's when the leaders approached you once more, asking for you to take pictures with them which you reluctantly agreed to.
You guys did tons of fun poses with them, and they even asked for your instagram and kakaotalk.
But the fun ended when the dancers were called for an outfit change. You wave to them as each one started making their way back to the dressing room.
One by one the leaders enter the dressing room, but you saw Bada still not going inside, her phone in hand as she took more photos of herself.
"She seems to like taking pictures huh?" A voice suddenly snaps you back from reality, it was the director, "you're staring Ms.Y/n" he chuckled as you blushed once again.
You look back at Bada who is now dancing to "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z . Her dance moves looks so enticing, you just can't help yourself.
On the other side, Bada knows what she is doing, she knows that the photographer is looking at her as she danced to the song.
Bada smiles as she finishes and save it to her drafts later to post it. As she start taking pictures of herself once more, it's not everyday she get to wear something so revealing like this. It really gives her more confidence, especially when a certain hot photographer is there watching her.
"Excuse me, Ms. Bada Lee. I see that you are taking pictures, why not let Y/n here do that for you" the director calls out as he saw Bada trying to set a timer on her camera.
Y/n immediately snaps back at the director, eyes wide and face flushed. Bada seems to like the idea and walks to the photographer.
The director pushes you towards the dancer after whispering "I'm doing you a favor, thank me later" he pats her back as Bada finally approached Y/n.
"I'm sorry if I'm bothering you—" Y/n cuts Bada off "oh no, its not a bother. I'm still on break and besides looks like there's an issue with the dressing room" Y/n said in a cool manner at least for Bada, as the girl pointed out the leaders coming out of the dressing room once again, still dressed in their previous attire.
"Why not let me take some pictures of you, for instagram. Just while you guys wait for the stylists to call you back again for outfit change" the photographer proposed to which Bada agreed as the two goes around the studio, taking pictures here and there.
Until they reach a place where there's not much people, Bada leans on a wall as she posed for another pic, Y/n couldn't help but feel her heart beat loudly as the dancer posed in a much more seductive way.
Bada noticed the photographer biting down her lips as she posed, she couldn't help but smirk. There is just an obvious tension between the two.
"There we go. What do you think?" Y/n walks up to the tall girl, showing the photos she took with Bada's phone.
Bada thinks that she really did a great job with the pictures, but she just can't focus on it as Y/n stands close to her. Y/n looks back at Bada, noticing the dancer's gaze on her, making eye contact with her.
By then the tension rises more as Y/n unconsciously looks down at Bada's lips, making her bite down once again on her lip. This is was immediately noticed by Bada, and somehow an unexplainable force just compels the two to finally crash their lips on each other.
Y/n puts the dancer's phone on her pocket as she pushed Bada against the wall, pinning her against it as her tongue licked the leader's bottom lip, asking for permission to which Bada accepts.
Their breath starts getting deeper and shorter as they pull each other, desperate for more. But the need for oxygen finally gets to them as they pulls back.
"Well that's—hah—something" you said as you both catch your breath. Bada looks at you with pleading eyes as she wraps her arms once again on your neck. You knew what she want but decided to tease her.
"What's with that look?" You smirk as she pouts "the kiss felt good... I want more" Bada said in a hush tone and you gave what she wanted, connecting your lips once again, now in a much more gentle way, unlike earlier, aggressive, fueled by lust and desperation.
Bada couldn't help but moan into the kiss, Y/n might be a shy type of person, but due to her masculine personality, there is still a bit of boldness hidden in her somewhere, and it is finally showing as Y/n wraps her hand around the dancer's waist, pulling her in closer.
"Y/N L/N WHERE ARE YOU?!" a screeching noise echoes through the whole studio as the megaphone feedbacks from how loud the director's voice was.
"Well that's our cue" Y/n pulls away from the kiss as Bada nodded shyly. "But I do enjoy... uh, this" she points at bada and herself "...so why don't we continue this some other time? How about we go out for dinner next time?" The photographer proposes, as Bada smiles.
"Is the handsome photographer asking me out on a date?" Bada flirts back. "If only the super hot and sexy choreographer agrees to" Y/n retorted with a wink.
The two giggles as they made their way back, Y/n droping Bada off on the dressing room before heading to where the director is.
"There you are—why is your lipstick smudged?" The director pointed out which brought out Y/n's shy personality once again as she covers her face with her camera.
The following shoot after the break were nothing but the leaders and staffs teasing you and Bada as you two interacts with each other, acting like you two didn't disappear out of everyone's sight earlier before making out.
A/N: And done!!! Finally finished a request after getting motivated to write again. Hope that this meet your expectations tho...

Goodbye.
Hello, this will be my last post on this account. I have decided to quit writing for Bada Lee and Bebe completely after weeks of contemplating. I am truly grateful for everyone who had supported me and my works, and to the friends (even the ones who betrayed and lied to me) that I met on this lovely community. Don't worry, this blog account would not be deleted so people can still come back to read my works whenever they want.
However, I will be abandoning this account and will create a new one, as I don't want to pile another content on top of the memories I made within the Bada community. We may meet each other again in another side of tumblr, don't forget to say hi if we do.
The reason for me quitting is not because of the recent issues with minors, but because I lost inspiration to write for Bada for quite a while now. I still support Bada and Team Bebe, however the time has come and I have to grow out of this phase. I had a wonderful time spending with each of you, thank you for all the wonderful memories we made together. This is Nique also known as @mikaleialt, officially signing off.

Nique didn’t even do anything, so why are you telling people to stop interacting with her?
i was actually planning to make a post about it since ppl keep asking me, so i guess i can just make it here, myself.
but like, when nique first announced they were doing a catfish episode, i had defended them and also tried to comfort them, because people were being kind of disproportionate in making fun of them, esp when the entire episode wasn’t centred around the rpc or anything, they were just talking about it. so i completely gave them the benefit of the doubt because i had assumed that this thing would be about her and her struggles, especially about her r/s with alice.
come the date of the actual catfish episode, and it borderline triggered me, like. real hard. you can handle or interpret it however you’d like, but the way i, and the people i was watching it, were seeing it, it seemed really gaslight-y and guilt-trippy on nique’s part. which, don’t get me wrong, i know they were anxious and they were feeling a lot of difficult emotions because of stuff like alice having different phone numbers, or not wanting to video chat, and especially when she told her not to come to LA.
however. however – all of these things were things they could have directly come to alice about, instead of taking it to national tv. when i watched the part where they called alice and she said she couldn’t do this on tv and begged them not to come to LA, it was very obvious that she was having some sort of anxiety attack and whatnot.
and while i understand this wasn’t their intention, the fact that they all still went to LA anyway, and asked alice again to meet up, made it seem very much so like she had no choice but to say “yes”, because how the hell do you say no to that request when it’s being made on tv ???
don’t get me wrong, i do think it was sweet that nev said they could go to LA for themself and not for alice, but imagine yourself in that kind of situation as alice: if you said no in that kind of situation, could you imagine how people would react to that, or regard you as a terrible person ?? hell, people are STILL doing that, even though alice did talk it out with nique in the episode.
which brings me to the entirety of the situation.
i don’t know or care if this was staged, like nique has claimed.
if it was staged, then i still don’t think this kind of behaviour, especially on tv, was okay. it was subtly geared towards gaslighting alice ( and alice even says herself she didn’t want to say a hard ‘no’ to nique in fear of embarrassing her on live tv, but she was saying ‘no’s multiple times, which nique still interpreted as ‘maybe’s or ‘yes’s ), and is representative of a very toxic mindset. all of these problems could have been solved if nique had literally just talked to alice about it.
but i really don’t think it was staged – not what with what’s been happening after the matter.while i don’t want to divulge what has been happening on alice’s end, i do know that nique has more or less stood by while terrible things have been happening to her, and is instead liking / retweeting tweets bashing alice.what makes me the most alarmed, however, is that nique is straight up blocking everybody who so much as points out that the way they interpreted her behaviour in the episode was not a positive interpretation.
because to me, the way i interpreted it, is that while nique’s emotions and distress involving the situation were 100% valid, they should NOT have completely violated alice’s boundaries like that, especially on national tv. and now alice is receiving the blowback for all of this.
i get that mtv might have changed some things or anted up certain aspects for the drama, but the fact of the matter is, nique is not letting anyone come to their own conclusion about things. and if the general consensus among people in the rpc who have seen this is that this kind of blatant disregard of consent is unacceptable, and the entire situation was geared towards only attacking alice for situations that she had no idea were even happening in the first place ( aka she legitimately had no idea nique was even into her AND BEFORE YOU BRING UP the fact that they shared certain “pictures” with one another, i want to remind you that it’s not that unusual for friends–especially lgbtq+ members, whose entire existence relies on us disrupting determined binaries and expectations in society–to send nudes to one another. like, i have a friend who straight up will post random nudes on her priv twitter to affirm herself. additionally, nique is a sex worker; they should also be aware that not every picture of that nature sent to someone is in a romantic sense. yes, it’s definitely charged in something, i won’t lie, and i don’t blame nique for seeing it as a romantic gesture, but like i said — COMMUNICATION ), then maybe that’s indicative of a larger problem.
yeah, the situation was kinda sucky. alice and nique both should’ve communicated better.but please don’t try to tell me nique did nothing wrong when multiple people have claimed that their actions in that episode were indicative of past abusers in their lives.
#sorry if any of this sounds weird or sth i literally slept the entire day#and im only now waking up dsfjsk#anon .#you bare your teeth as god disproves existence of himself ; tell me —– is that a snarl ‚ or a grin ? / ans.#like when i say that i don't get triggered easily -- i mean it. but that episode almost set me off completely

Other Side of the Game (An Urban Sims 4 Story)
Part 9 || Griffey
Corianna’s body started to shake and I felt her walls constrict around me. She always felt right and no matter how many women I had in my bed – she was always the best. Maybe it was because I knew that she was mine and had ever only been mine. Or maybe it was because she was impossibly tight or stayed so wet for me. My breaths started to become ragged and I began to pump faster. The heat under the covers caused me to perspire, making beads of sweat roll off my body and drip onto the valley between her bouncing breasts. They were so full and round, I scooted downward to catch one of them in my mouth. Her fingers clawed over the muscles at the back of my shoulders and pulled me nearer to her body. My lips grazed her collar bone and the touch caused her to whimper. My hips froze as she clenched herself around me and I closed my eyes. Fuck, she felt so soft and warm. As her walls started to spasm around me again I exploded deep inside of her.
“Oooooh,” She moaned loudly in my ear. “Griffey, fuck yesss. Mmm,” I slowed my strokes and muffled her mouth with a kiss to keep her quiet. The temperature under the blankets was increasing and I couldn’t last much longer.
I thrust into her several more times before every part of my body had gone limp. I rolled off of Corianna and somehow found the energy to wipe myself with a brown towel. She slipped on a white dress she had stored away in one of my drawers and cleaned herself with a wash cloth. We sat on the bed in silence for a moment and kissed before I stood up to get dressed in my clothes that had been left on the bed then kicked onto the floor. She looked pleased.
I grabbed the sticky bath towel from her and tossed it on the corner of my computer desk. When I turned around, Kali was in front of me with dimness in her green eyes, her mood had suddenly changed. She only gave me that look when she was upset about something, but I thought that everything was fine. We just had finished having passionate sex and I knew that she was satisfied. What was her issue?
“You know it’s hard for me to take your mad face serious when you’re wearing those bunny slippers right?” I joked in an attempt to make her laugh.
“I’m starting to think you don’t take me serious at all Griff,” The stoic look on her face remained unchanged. I began to wonder if she was bi-polar, she was just moaning my name with her legs up.
“How could I not take you serious? You know how I feel about you,” I told her in a state of disbelief. Corianna was riding and grinding against me less than an hour ago, where was this coming from?
“Actually, I don’t think I know anything about you anymore,” She said with her hands outstretched as if she was mocking me. Yeah, something was definitely up with her. We had been on good terms for a few weeks, but apparently she was mad at me now and felt the need to play mind games and shit.
“Listen yo’, I don’t know what’s wrong with you. But you can tell me or keep your attitude, I don’t have time to stand here and figure out what the fuck is wrong with you,” I decided to get straight to the point. I hated when she acted so childish, especially after I gave her a good pipe down. When I wasn’t hustling or on the corner, I spent a majority of my free time with her, and always made sure that she wanted for nothing. I should be the last person she decided to have a problem with.
“Oh, so we cussing at each other now? Hmph,” She let out a puff of air and rolled her eyes before squinting at me at me. “I don’t have an attitude – you have the damn attitude,” Corianna started laughing to herself, but I didn’t find anything funny. I was starting to get annoyed, she knew just how to push my buttons.
“Look, I didn’t mean to cuss at you and shit, but you trippin’ ma,” I lowered my voice so she understood that I was calm. Besides, yelling wasn’t going to help me find out what was bugging her. “Just tell me what’s wrong? I’ll make it better, a’ight?” She tapped her foot and poked out her bottom lip, I wanted to bite it. She looked so sexy when she was mad.
“Griff,” She let out a breath and looked around the room, everywhere else but me. I figured whatever she was about to say had to be something that I wasn’t going to like.
“Yeah, what it is?” I questioned and waited for her to continue.
“I talked to ‘Nique and she told me –,” I cut her off.
“Ugh! Really though? I should have known her stupid ass said some shit to piss you off!” I hated to hear Unique’s name, she stayed in my fucking business, always reporting to Corianna like some goddamn watchdog. “She told you what Cori? A lie? That’s all she do – just to have something to talk about,” Whether or not what she said to Cori was true, it wasn’t her business to tell.
I started to wonder if she knew about the bitch Candace I was fucking around with? Damn, Corianna was going to be mad for a minute. I started to calculate in my mind how much money I had to spend to make it up to her. I stared at her and prepared myself for her to start crying or screaming about me being a “lying ass cheater”.
“No. Griff,” She sighed and shook her head. “Unique told me that Bella was tryna’ hook her homegirl up with you, that girl with the red hair. Beatrix,” Corianna said with another roll of her eyes, as if saying Bee’s name annoyed her.
I almost sighed in relief at her not knowing about Candace, Good. Unique didn’t know all of my business. Still, Geechie needed to learn how to keep his mouth shut. Unique had him whipped, he was breaking the “bro-code” for her. He knew that he wasn’t supposed to let anything about Beatrix slip around his big-mouth girlfriend.
“Really? Baby? Are you serious?” I asked her, making sure I sounded surprised.
“Yes, I’m serious. Dead serious Griff,” She said and punched my arm making my arm flinch. She didn’t know her own strength.
“I barely even know her, that’s my second time even seeing her,” Okay, maybe my fourth, but she didn’t need to know that. Corianna raised one of her arched eyebrows, giving me a quizzical look and I kept talking. “Unique is blowing the entire thing out of proportion,” I continued explaining. “I only told Bella she could invite her. That’s the only thing I’m guilty of,” I was guilty of a lot, but I hadn’t messed around with Beatrix. Not that I didn’t want to, but it just hadn’t happened yet. I looked at Corianna hoping she would be satisfied with my answer, I was actually being truthful with her.
“Did you have sex with her?” Corianna asked me straightfaced and I sighed while shaking my head ‘no’. “Are you sure, because she was eyeing me all night? You know I’ll beat her ass.” She said waving her palm in front of my face.
“Beatrix can get these hands.” I couldn’t hold in my laughter when she punched at the air. No doubt Corianna could fight, but those were no more than idle threats. For one, I would try my best to keep them apart and I was sure they wouldn’t run into each other on their own because they were totally different and hung out in different groups. And two, no girl I fooled around with had ever tried to fight with her before. No matter how bold they were, all of them still knew where they stood and stayed in their place.
“Yes! I’m serious Cori! Quit trying to fight random females,” I stopped laughing and looked at her eyes. They were calmer and filled with light amusement. She knew that I was being honest with her and I knew that she still didn’t know what truth I wasn’t telling her, so I think in that moment we were both happy.
“Okay, Griff.” She said with a small smile. I could hear thunder and see lightning strike outside of the window. “I’m sorry… But you know Unique only tries to look out for me.” I nodded and shrugged, not wanting to her her name again.
“Yeah, but looking out for you and stirring up shit in our relationship is two different things baby.” I stepped forward, closing the space between us. “Talk to me about whatever is on your mind first so that we don’t have to get into petty ass arguments.” I pulled her by her waist and drew her nearer to me so that I could kiss her cheek.
“You’re right,” Her voice was softer and her body relaxed as I gently stroked her cheek. “I don’t even know why I was trippin’,” I shushed her with a kiss and pulled away to look at her beautiful face. I hated to see her worry and get upset, but she knew what it was when we started our relationship.
She had to know that I didn’t mean to make her love me and hurt her in the process of me living my life. I wish she could only understand that I didn’t have feelings for the other girls I had sex with. It was as simple as I always told her, they were just something to do. When I got bored with them and lost interest I pursued another. Still, only one woman had the key to my heart, all of them knew that Corianna would always be my baby.
“I care for you so much,” I told her truthfully. “I’d never hurt you like that.” I said quietly because deep inside I knew that I would hurt her over and over again. But for the moment I stood there with her embraced in my arms, right then nothing else mattered but her. I heard thunder boom again, it had started to rain.

EFT tapping Dr Maharaj.
Mindful Energy PsychologyEnergy Psychology 8:1 • May 201645Energy Psychology (EP)Energy psychology (EP) is a theoretical and practice approach based on facilitating energy flow through the body-mind. Originally and pre-dominantly, energy psychology techniques involve percussing or tapping on specific acupuncture points (acupoints) to treat psychological disorders (Callahan, 1985; Feinstein, 2010, 2012a, 2012b; Gallo, 2004). When applied therapeutically, EP is also often referred to as energy therapy or energy psychotherapy, although approaches of this genre often involve other diagnostic and therapeutic tech-niques, such as muscle testing, bodily positions, eye movements and positions, holding specific areas of the body such as chakras and neurovascu-lar reflexes, as well as cognitive components such as affirmations and visualization (Gallo, 2002; Hover-Kramer, 2002; Feinstein, 2012b). Though there has been a proliferation of EP approaches, the initial one addressing psychological problems by tapping was developed by Roger Callahan, PhD, in the late 1970s (Callahan, 2001).Although the case can be made that EP has ancient roots in acupuncture and meridian theory, the more recent history dates back to the 1960s, when George Goodheart, DC, developed applied kinesiology (Goodheart, 1987; Walther, 1988), an approach that employs manual muscle testing and holistic concepts to treat physical problems. Goodheart pioneered therapy localization, which involves the practitioner or patient touching spe-cific bodily locations while applying manual mus-cle testing for diagnostic and treatment purposes (Kendall, Kendall, & Wadsworth, 1971).While Goodheart reported a connection among specific muscles, reflexes, and meridians, others explored aspects of applied kinesiology to treat psychological problems. Diamond (1985) explored the meridian-emotion connection and the use of affirmations, music, and other media in treating psychological issues. Along similar lines, Callahan developed a treatment method, Thought Field Ther-apy (TFT), which involves attuning to or access-ing psychological disorders such as phobias and traumas and then tapping on prescribed acupoints (Callahan, 1985; Callahan & Turbo, 2002; Gallo, 2004). Callahan’s is a three-tiered approach, includ-ing specific treatment algorithms, diagnosis, and treatment via muscle testing, and treatment over the telephone through a protocol called voice tech-nology. Eventually, other related approaches were developed by Craig (Craig & Fowlie, 1995; Craig, 2010), Gallo (2000, 2003, 2004, 2007), and oth-ers (Gallo, 2002; Diepold, Britt, & Bender, 2004; Mollon, 2008; Benor, Ledger, Toussaint, Hett, & Zaccaro, 2009). Some of the approaches discarded muscle testing and several other elements of TFT (Craig, 2010; Benor et al., 2009), while others con-tinued to apply muscle testing and other elements to varying degrees (Gallo, 2000; Diepold et al., 2004; Mollon, 2008). For example, energy diagnostic and treatment methods (EDxTM) is an integrative approach that involves a wider array of treatment acupoints, algorithms, and diagnostic approaches; various ways of addressing self-sabotaging inter-ferences (i.e., psychological reversal); a focus on thought recognition; protocols for core beliefs and peak performance; and several other aspects (Gallo, 2000, 2002).Energy Psychology ResearchIn addition to studies suggesting that EP is effective in treating a variety of conditions, the efficiency of EP in treating trauma and posttrau-matic stress disorder (PTSD) has been increasingly established over nearly two decades (Carbonell & Figley, 1996, 1999; Figley, Carbonell, Boscarino, & Chang, 1999; Diepold & Goldstein, 2000, 2008; Johnson, Shala, Sejdijaj, Odell, & Dabishevci, 2001; Sakai et al., 2001; Church, Geronilla, & Dinter, 2009; Sakai, Connolly, & Oas, 2010; Burk, 2010; Church, 2010, 2013; Feinstein, 2010, 2012a, 2012b; Church, Piña, Reategui, & Brooks, 2012; Church, Yount, & Brooks, 2012; Church, Hawk, et al., 2013; Church & Brooks, 2014). Studies using EP in treating PTSD are especially notewor-thy, since PTSD has generally been considered a treatment-resistant and refractory condition. Some have argued that it may be incurable and should be regarded as a condition that can only be managed (Johnson et al., 2001; Phelps, 2009).Though it is traditionally proposed in EP that trauma and other psychological problems entail blocked energy flow through meridians and other aspects of the bioenergy system, a position that the author finds intriguing, EP also likely eliminates the trauma by activating the implicit memory associated with amygdala neurons and permanently altering their connections or wiring (Hebb, 1949), reducing cortisol levels (Church, Yount, & Brooks, 2012), and also promoting memory reconsolidation by intro-ducing significant novelty (Moscovitch & Nadel, Energy Psychology 8:1 • May 2016Mindful Energy Psychology461997; Hupbach, Gomez, Hardt, & Nadel, 2007; Ecker, Ticic, & Hulley, 2012).Diepold and Goldstein (2000, 2008) reported on evaluation of an EP trauma case study with quantitative electroencephalogram (EEG). Statis-tically abnormal brain-wave patterns were evident when the client thought about his trauma com-pared to a neutral baseline event. Quantitative EEG (QEEG) with the traumatic memory imme-diately after treatment and at 18-month follow-up revealed no abnormalities. This study supports the hypothesis that negative emotion has a measurable effect, and also objectively identified an immedi-ate and lasting neuroenergetic change in the direc-tion of normalcy and health after EP treatment.Church, Yount, and Brooks (2012) examined cortisol levels in 83 subjects randomly assigned to a single session of Emotional Freedom Tech-niques (EFT; Craig & Fowlie, 1995; Church, 2013), talk therapy, or rest. Cortisol is the “master hormone” regulating many aspects of the body’s stress response mechanisms, especially those associated with the autonomic nervous system. Therefore the researchers proposed that successful therapy would result in lower stress as reflected in reduced salivary cortisol. Their investigation found that cortisol levels in the rest and therapy groups decreased at approximately the same rate, but that cortisol in the EFT group decreased sig-nificantly more. The decrease in this physiological marker of stress was also significantly correlated with a decrease in anxiety, depression, and other psychological conditions. As cortisol levels of PTSD patients are ele-vated as well, effective treatment with EFT would likely lower cortisol levels in such patients. The investigators then examined gene expression in 18 veterans with PTSD and found regulation of inflam-mation genes associated with stress after 10 EFT sessions (Church, Yount, Rachlin, Fox, & Nelms, 2016). A pilot study with four participants examin-ing the entire genome before and after an hour of EFT versus a placebo of similar duration found 72 genes to be significantly regulated, including those implicated in immunity, inflammation, and tumor suppression (Maharaj, 2016). Effective psycho-therapy with EP has been proposed as an epigenetic intervention (Feinstein & Church, 2010).Johnson et al., (2001) reported on uncon-trolled treatment of trauma victims in Kosovo with Thought Field Therapy during five 2-week trips in the year 2000. Treatments were given to 105 Albanian patients with 249 separate violent traumatic incidents. The traumas included rape, torture, and witnessing the massacre of loved ones. Total relief of the traumas was reported by 103 of the patients and for 247 of the 249 sepa-rate traumas treated. Follow-up data averaging 5 months revealed no relapses. While these data are based on uncontrolled treatments, the absence of relapse ought to pique our attention, since a 98% spontaneous remission from PTSD is unlikely.Sakai et al., (2001) reported on an uncon-trolled study of 594 applications of TFT in the treatment of 714 clients with PTSD and many other disorders. Paired t tests of pre- and post-treatment SUD were statistically significant at the 0.01 level in 31 categories. In a 2006 through 2007 study, 50 orphaned adolescents with PTSD symptoms from the Rwandan genocide 12 years earlier were treated with a single TFT session, evidencing significant improvement on PTSD checklists at a <0.001 level. Improvements were maintained at 1-year follow-up (Sakai, Connolly, & Oas, 2010).Several EP approaches have been subjected to experimental tests. Efficacy in reducing or eliminating symptoms of PTSD, as well as anxiety, depression, and phobias, has been demonstrated in several stud-ies of EFT (Church, 2013, Feinstein, 2012b, Rowe, 2005; Wells, Polglase, Andrews, Carrington, & Baker, 2003; Church & Brooks, 2010, 2014).An early EFT study focused on subjects who had been involved in motor vehicle accidents and who experienced PTSD associated with the acci-dent (Swingle & Pulos, 2004). All subjects received two treatment sessions; all reported improvement immediately following treatment. Brain-wave assessments before and after treatment indicated that subjects who sustained the benefit of the treat-ments had increased 13–15 Hz amplitude over the sensory motor cortex, decreased right frontal cortex arousal, and an increased 3–7 Hz:16–25 Hz ratio in the occipital region.Stone, Leyden, and Fellows (2009) found reductions in PTSD symptoms in genocide survi-vors in a different Rwandan orphanage, using two group sessions plus a single individual session with the most traumatized individuals.Church, Piña, Reategui, and Brooks (2012) performed a randomized controlled trial with 16 abused male children aged 12 to 17 in a group home. The experimental group of eight received EFT, while the control group of eight received Mindful Energy PsychologyEnergy Psychology 8:1 • May 201647no treatment. A 1-month follow-up was per-formed, which found that the PTSD levels of all eight of the EFT group had normalized, while no member of the control group had improved (p < 0.001).EFT/EP reduced PTSD symptoms in two pilot studies with war veterans (Church, 2010; Church, Geronilla, & Dinter, 2009). In the first study, 11 veterans and their family members received a weeklong intensive consisting of 10 to 15 ses-sions. Their average PTSD scores dropped from clinical to subclinical levels, as did their other psychological symptoms such as hostility, psycho-sis, phobic anxiety, and depression. Three follow-ups, including at 1 year, found them stable, having maintained the gains they experienced in the weeklong intensive. In the second study, veterans received six sessions of EFT with similar results. These studies led to a full randomized con-trolled trial with a much larger group of subjects (Church, Hawk, Brooks, et al., 2013). The results from this study again showed that symptoms in a wait-list control group did not diminish over time, while six sessions of EFT produced drops to subclinical levels of PTSD, with the average subject remaining subclinical at 3- and 6-month follow-up. The veterans were randomized to EFT (n = 30) or standard of care wait list (n = 29). Inter-vention consisted of six hour-long EFT sessions concurrent with standard care. The EFT subjects evidenced significantly reduced psychological distress (p < 0.0012) and PTSD symptom levels (p < 0.0001) after the intervention. Additionally, 90% of the EFT group no longer met criteria for PTSD, compared with 4% in the control group. After the wait period, the controls received EFT. In a within-subjects longitudinal analysis, 60% no longer met PTSD criteria after three sessions, which increased to 86% after six sessions for the 49 subjects who received EFT. Benefits remained at 86% at 3 months and at 80% at 6 months. A replication of this study found similar results (Geronilla, McWilliams, & Clond, 2014). By com-parison, a similar PTSD study of cognitive behav-ioral therapy showed that only 40% of veterans improved after treatment (Monson et al., 2006).A meta-analysis of 18 randomized controlled trials including 921 subjects revealed a moderate effect size for EP (Gilomen & Lee, 2015). This study utilized conservative statistical methods, eliminating studies with large treatment effects; had those been included, the overall effect size would have been large. Later meta-analyses of EFT for specific conditions did indeed find large effect sizes: for anxiety (Clond, 2016), depression (Nelms & Castel, 2016), and PTSD (Sebastian & Nelms, 2016). These results point to the effective-ness and efficiency of EP treatments.Reciprocal Synergy: Mindful Energy Psychology (MEP)Mindful energy psychology is a theoretical and practice approach that integrates mindfulness and energy psychology. Since research supports the therapeutic effectiveness of both mindfulness practices and EP, an integration of the two is pro-posed to offer significant synergy. It is the author’s observation that when EP techniques are applied most effectively, mindfulness stands as an essen-tial therapeutic active ingredient. A reciprocal syn-ergy also likely occurs, such that the benefits of mindfulness are accelerated and the benefits of EP are deepened when the two are combined. An essential focus of EP has been the treat-ment and elimination of psychological problems as efficiently as possible. In many respects, this is consistent with a medical model. The issue being treated, such as depression or PTSD, is understand-ably considered to be problematic both to the cli-ent and therapist. So the somatic stimulation and related techniques of EP are ways of “attacking” the problem, “magic bullets” aimed at eliminating the unwanted malady. This does not, however, appear to be in line with mindfulness, which emphasizes nonjudgmental observation and acceptance without intention to eliminate anything. Mindfulness does not involve attempting to change anything; rather it involves a deep level of presence and acceptance. So how can EP and mindfulness be recon-ciled? By their very nature, they appear to be at opposite ends of the spectrum, with it appearing paradoxical to hold an emphasis on acceptance or simply nonjudgmental observation of a state or condition within the same space of intending to eliminate it.Resolving the ParadoxParadoxes do not have to be eliminated or resolved. It is conceivable to allow for both change and acceptance. Recall the Serenity Prayer, a staple of 12-step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous, which begins with the statement, Energy Psychology 8:1 • May 2016Mindful Energy Psychology48“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference” (Niebuhr, 1927). The paradox seems to arise when both acceptance and change are positioned simultane-ously, when one tries to change and accept some-thing at the same time. However, it is feasible to integrate acceptance and change. While EP and many other approaches have been focused on eliminating symptoms, acceptance is another way to transcend a state or condition. In this regard, acceptance involves decentering or stepping back from the situation and observing it from a distinct perspective or distance, so to speak. Rather than acceptance, in some respects observa-tion might more accurately describe the position, although acceptance is along these lines. Also note that trying to eliminate a problem can result in stress and struggle that serve to perpetuate the problem, to a large extent because the situation is being perceived as a problem. On the other hand, by relaxing into and observing the emotional state and its physical aspects (rather than bracing against it and wanting to change it) the issue is more directly attuned. This position can more deeply facilitate healing. Additionally, this helps the thera-pist and client to be less ego-involved, allowing for healing to occur on its own terms. This assumes that ego-clinging is an integral aspect of the con-dition and the suffering, even the perpetrator of it (Jigme, 2004).Psychological ReversalIn line with the foregoing and common to any therapeutic approach, resistance or other kinds of interference can occur. Each therapy has its con-ceptualization of this phenomenon. Resistance can be viewed as a sign of getting into ripe therapeutic territory. Secondary gains can be factors interfer-ing with progress, indicating that the issue has certain benefits that need to be addressed. Benefits may include counter beliefs such as loyalty to the family, believing that the problem affords some level of safety, the client believing that he or she deserves to have the problem, or any number of other criteria (Gallo, 2004). Also a problem in the therapeutic relationship is a systemic interpreta-tion of resistance, perhaps indicating that the ther-apist has provoked resistance. Any of these factors will block direct access to the presenting issue and interfere with disengaging the interference. From an EP perspective, the resistance or interference is often referred to as “psychological reversal” (Callahan & Turbo, 2002; Gallo, 2004). The assumption here is that there exists an energy blockage or reversal of polarity or energetic flow that prevents effective treatment of the present-ing issue (Pasahow, Callahan, Callahan, & Rapp, 2015). This concept entails a number of permu-tations, and each of these can be seen as a non-acceptance or rejection of oneself and one’s circumstance. These phenomena are referred to as reversal partly because of a response to indicator muscle testing, which is akin to ideomotor signaling. For instance, the client attunes to an issue such as a phobia. Then an indicator muscle, such as the anterior deltoid or middle deltoid, is physi-cally challenged. Generally, the muscle weak-ens (releases) in response to the stress. Then the client states, “I want to resolve this phobia” versus “I want to keep this phobia.” Without a reversal, the muscle will test strong to “wanting” to resolve the phobia and weak to “wanting” to keep it. Given a reversal, the muscle response will be in the opposite direction, namely strong to “want-ing” to keep the phobia. Specific EP procedures are generally effective in correcting the reversal (Gallo, 2000, 2004). For example, the client taps on the ulnar side of either hand (i.e., the small intestine–3 acupoint) while verbalizing several times, “Even though I have this problem, I deeply and completely accept myself.”Although standard corrections for psycho-logical reversal contain mindfulness elements, reversals are more congruently treated from a mind-ful energy psychology perspective. The therapist maintains an attitude of acceptance congruent with the client engaging in specific tactile stimulation while being mindful and making a self-acceptance statement and possibly also a statement of accept-ance of the issue being addressed in treatment. For example:“I accept myself with this [name condi-tion].”Or “I accept myself with this [name condi-tion] and I accept this [name condition].”In some respects, the transmuting of psy-chological reversal is similar to the theoretical position of Carl Rogers (1961) regarding self-acceptance leading to change: “The curious para-dox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then
