"The Valley of the Worm" has inspired some terrific art over the years, but it's a terrible story. Even if you cut out all the racism, it's still just a run-of-the-mill monster-slaying story told in a matter-of-fact style that robs it of excitement and horror.
I don't usually complain about the fiction connected to the art, but I don't usually read anything this awful.
