Since we’re talking about shoes, how about we step into my most favorite sneaker brand Jordan’s, created by Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan, also known as MJ, is a well-known successful businessman and former NBA player. Since retiring at the age of 30, Michael Jordan created a brand that has taken over the shoe industry and streetwear. Michael Jordan now has an incredible partnership with the Nike establishment selling his brand, Jordan’s. If you ever wanted to know what luxury street wear looks like in the shoe game, then I would advise looking into many of the different Jordan’s. I know Chris Brown and Jordan Sparks said no air, but they never said no Air Jordan 1’s which happens to be my most favorite pair of sneakers out of the Jordan brand. Let’s start off with a luxurious sneaker, the Dior Jordan 1 Retro High. I love this collaboration between Michael Jordan, Nike, and Dior because this is exactly what it looks like walking the streets in luxury streetwear. I’m not sure what’s more luxurious, the fact that the shoes were made in Italy or the fact that they were edge painted by hand. I can most definitely say that there is high quality in not only the making of this shoe, but also in the design and thought process behind creating.

Kim Jones, the men’s director of Dior, teamed up with Michael Jordan, lead footwear designer for men’s Dior, Fievel Dennis and Jordan’s VP of design Martin Lotti. The group worked to make a collaboration that would grasp the attention of sneaker lovers and cater to luxury. This fan favorite and hard to cop drop is made from top-notch fabrics like cashmere, silk, and genuine Italian leather. The shoe features a low top and high-top shoe with an embroidered, eye-catching Nike, Dior checkmark that incorporates the Dior brand and their logo on Nike’s logo. This copy paper white and accent gray leather contains a Dior monogram that’s inside of the Nike swoosh and I absolutely love it! This shoe is on my future to buy list as the cost has risen since release and can be resold for way more than the original price of $2000. Resellers like Stock X for example, have heightened prices anywhere between $7000 to $30,000 just for one pair of sneakers based off popular sizes. The resell price of the shoe may be pricier than the original price, but according to Drew Carey, I believe the price is right based off the value.

Jordan Brand x Union LA - Xứng đáng với danh hiệu The Best Air Jordans của 2018?

Chắc hẳn mọi người sẽ không còn xa lạ gì với bản collab giữa Jordan Brand x Union LA khi sự kết hợp này đã chiếm lấy No.1 cho danh hiệu “The Best Air Jordans Of 2018”. Thực sự mà nói thì việc đôi giày này lấy được giải quán quân thì không thể bàn cãi khi những câu chuyện truyền cảm hứng, design,... đã chiếm trọn spotlight của các sneakerhead. Hai phiên bản Jordan 1 được đặt tên là “Black Toe” và “Blue Toe”, bên cạnh đó thì các sản phẩm khác như T-shirt, sweatshirt và pants cũng được release.

Chris Gibbs, owner của Union Los Angeles đã kết hợp cái HYPE và OG lên cùng một đôi 1s, điều mà chưa bản collab nào có thể làm được. Gibbs cùng Jordan Brand đã cẩn thận lên thiết kế cho bản collab với sự kết hợp của OG để tạo thành HYPE khi nó không hề dễ dàng tí nào. Thế nhưng, design này đã vượt qua sự mong đợi của rất nhiều người. Lấy ý tưởng từ hai đôi Jordan OG là Jordan 1 “Black Toe” và Jordan 1 “Neutral Grey” , nửa trên của đôi giày ở phần heel là phối màu của Neutral Grey 1s, nửa còn lại trải dài từ cổ trở xuống tới toe box là phối màu của Black Toe cho phối màu “Black Toe”.

Blue Toe thì dựa trên phối màu Bred và Kentucky (Sau này gọi là Storm Blue). Cũng tương tự Black Toe, phần cổ là Bred, còn phần upper là Kentucky. Hai đôi giày này đều có chất liệu da Tumbler như thường lệ nhưng lần này, phần Leather lại được làm khá là dày và cứng. Nubuck Swoosh, đường chỉ zig-zag được may quanh phần cổ và lưỡi gà của đôi giày, một ít ố vàng cho phần midsole. Ngoài ra thì còn có một phần foam ở tongue. Tất cả đều được thiết kế để hồi hương Jordan 1 OG 1985.

Một chi tiết đáng chú ý nữa là phần logo Wings của đôi giày lại không hề dựa trên Jordan 1, mà là mẫu giày mà MJ từng mang trong một số trận của NBA lúc ông còn là Rookie, đó là Jordan 1.5. Thế nên logo wings trong phần thiết kế này to hơn so với Jordan 1 nguyên bản. Sự xiên vẹo trong khâu thiết kế của Wings càng khiến cho đôi giày thêm phần tinh tế bao gồm thêm cả chiếc tag “UN/LA” ngay bên dưới logo wings. Họa tiết bên trong của đôi giày và giấy gói của đôi giày được lấy cảm hứng từ nguyên bản phác thảo của một trong những designer của Jordan Brand, Paul Savovici khi cả hai bên đang cùng nhau lên kế hoạch design.
