only a few volumes into dorohedoro but i’m liking the emergence of partnership and duos as a theme: nikaidou and caiman, noi and shin, en’s search for a partner, the doctor and the professor, and the whole thing kicks off with matsumura’s death, which leaves fujita partnerless and adrift. ebisu seems like the natural replacement, but we’ll see - for now it’s an interesting shared anxiety between fujita and en, even though they approach it very differently.

that, and coupling the mundane with the gruesome - the hole may be a post-apocalyptic, colonized hell, but there’s still time to eat gyozas and clock in at the hospital, and even en has charming family portraits of characters we often see beating people to death with hammers. that combination feels very rich and whole - very satisfying.

One part gore. One part horror. One part comedy. Then mix. This is Dorohedoro. Here you will follow Kaiman and his companion Nikaidou and their lives in the hole, a dumping ground for magical users' trash. Kaiman is someone's failed project. He doesn’t know who; however, he does have a magical person dude inside him who can help guide him. So, when Kaiman comes across a magical person, he puts their head in his mouth so his inside dude can see if it’s the magical person they are looking for or not.

Which sorcerer has your favorite magic in Dorohedoro? I think Noi's is probably my favorite because of how overpowered it can be when paired with others. But we haven't seen Nikaidou use hers yet.

Langa and Kiriko have never even met and ADAM and Kiriko hate each other in canon but nevermind that, this ship is godly. (I am working on that 6th chapter I promise)

I’m gonna go ahead and say Teloisezinho (Tag x Eloise x Zanguezinho) from Foot 2 Rue because I have them on brain a lot these days for some reason (totally nothing to do with the fifa world cup).
