I haven't seen anyone name Nihil's ghouls and I have ideas so here's my names for them as well as what I think their element is:

The Muffin

Of course my first post is for Ares and it’s some bs. This is for @inkrabbit thanks for cursing me with these idiots.

Summary: If it was anyone else, you might have started a food fight.

You had recently had an argument with Ares. More of a disagreement really, you were still alive so it can’t have been too bad. Although you were clearly a favourite of his, you were positive that if you pissed him off enough, you might succumb to the same fate as some of the other clergy members that had irritated the old ghoul.

You had just sat down in the cafeteria for lunch, sitting with some fellow siblings, listening to them gossip about one of the ghouls someone had a recent bout with. You noticed the room getting just that little bit warmer, felt the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end. You didn’t need to turn around to know Ares was staring at you, you were sure if looks alone could kill, you would be a goner. You felt him huff, rather than hear it, knowing the old fire ghoul got frustrated when you ignored him.

Trying to join back into the conversation with your friends and let the ghoul calm down, your head was rocketed forward with force, nearly hitting the table in front of you. Righting yourself and turning to see what could possibly have caused it, next to your hand, you find a muffin laying on its side, looking worse for wear with crumbs scattered around it. He didn’t, did he? You turn back to the old ghoul while slowly reaching for the offending muffin, Ares had looked away, pretending to be fascinated with something in his lap. So you took your chance, threw the muffin and hit him square between his horns. 

The cafeteria was silent. You turned on your heel and left, heading off in the direction of your room. You hadn’t even made it to the end of the hall before you heard a growl and found yourself being lifted and thrown over a shoulder. You wiggled and shifted, trying to get free but Ares was strong, even if he were human you doubted you could break free from his grasp. You gave up struggling, may as well just let the fool take you wherever he wanted to go.

You were, less than gently, dropped on his nest up in the attic. Looking up you saw him standing there with his arms crossed, and a look that could kill, which would have been more intimidating if he didn’t have muffin crumbs in his hair. You lost it, laughing so hard you were crying. Your sides burning, you tried to calm down, take some deep breaths but one look at him set you off again. You were certainly annoying the ghoul more. But a grumpy fire ghoul with crumbs in his hair? Hysterical.

Ares growled, his eyes glowing just enough for you to know that he’s pissed. It wasn’t your smartest idea throwing it back but you had every right to be pissed. You take a couple more deep breaths and wipe the few tears that had started to form. Picking yourself up from where the ghoul dumped you unceremoniously, you closed the distance between the two of you, his growl getting louder.

“Don’t you dare growl at me. You started this.” You jabbed a finger to his chest, you were either going out swinging or you’d get railed, really both options were good with you, you’d lived a good life, either was fine and you were pissed. “You couldn’t handle me ignoring you so you threw a tantrum like a petulant child.” His eyes glowing more and growling louder didn’t make you stop. “You don’t get to throw something at me and be free of the consequences Ares. That’s not how this works.” You hadn’t realised that as his growls grew louder, so did your voice.

Ares took a step forward, so you took one back, continuing the pattern until you felt something solid behind you. You hadn’t realised where exactly in the room you were, but now found yourself pushed against the far wall of the room. You weren’t leaving even if you wanted to, there was no way you’d make it through the door without Ares stopping you. Ares reached out, grabbing the back of your neck and pulling you in for a bruising kiss.

“MINE!” he huffed before returning to your lips.

Sometimes it was nice to just slip away from it all; hide away in the dens and forget about the stress of being Papa. He had already wiped his makeup away and changed into a simple shirt and some sweats.

It's a lot warmer when he passes through the threshold, looking around. A few books lay on the table in the common area, some dishes piled in the sink as he passes by the kitchen. He already knows where the ghouls are since they weren't in the common area. He knew it was a little too chilly for them, anyway. He really should look into finding a way to keeping their dens warmer throughout this harsh winter.

There's soft music playing as he opens the door to the basement. He slowly makes his way down the stairs, catching sight of Neptune's brightly-colored finned tail hanging off of the edge of Ares' bed. Just as he guessed, the ghouls are all piled on top of the plush bed. Ares was laying on his back with Silvanus on his chest, both Neptune and Notus on either side of them. He can feel a smile form, remembering just how tense and hostile they could all be together when he first summoned them.

“Master?” Notus lifts his head, squinting in his direction.

“Hey.” He slowly makes his way towards them, watching as they move. Neptune and Notus move, giving Silvanus enough room to lift himself up, leaning on his forearm as Ares extends a hand to the man. An invitation, he assumes. He takes it as he crawls onto the bed, half-laying on his side as his head rests on Ares' chest, reveling in the warmth the ghoul is putting out. Just like that, he's enveloped. Silvanus lays back down, taking the other side of Ares' body and letting his arm drape across Nihil's back. Neptune had already moved a bit before settling down right behind Nihil, a loud purring starting up as he nuzzled his face in the back of his hair.

“Hiding from Imperator?” Silvanus asks, a lopsided grin on his face.

“The whole clergy, more like,” he grumbles softly. “Sometimes I wonder if I'm cut out for this whole thing.”

“You've made it this far,” Ares reminds him. “I'm sure you can keep going. Besides, you got us, right? It'll be okay.”

Nihil lets out a soft hum as he nods his head. Yeah. As long as he had his ghouls, everything would be okay.

Remember how I said I couldn't stop thinking about Ghouls? yeah LOL. Anyways, I finally finished my "Ghoul Guide" which is a comic featuring made up lore about summoning nameless ghouls as well as things about them and their roles!

this by no means is comprehensive of everything I've made up for them, but I'm testing the waters with this comic! if it gets enough love I'll make an additional comic about ghoul origins, element types, and maybe even design non-assigned ghoul outfits for each era costume hehe.

A rite of passage for becoming “Papa”, It starts with a will and your judgement

A specialized chamber is necessary, 1) to avoid interference 2) to prevent escape.

After all; feral ghouls are raw elements, And to survive, one must tame them.

Each element has a diversity of strengths and rarity / and the first ghoul summoned sets precedent for how a leader is perceived.

Additionally, the first is the personal servant and an important assistant for life; Often times assistance is needed for future summoning, but a limit of 2 maintains respect to show you’re still capable.

However, they must accept you- you must earn their respect, and they only choose if willing. And they are not always willing.

One must be prepared to face Hell itself. To prove one is worthy to take the stage, controlling the devil’s magic is key.

It’s important to roll the dice and summon a variety, but one may only tame as many as the power of their sin allows, which, naturally, varies.

And while they’re loyal as determined by one’s rank… / Remember: The ministry comes first.
