Agatha said that no spell or incantation was used for Nicolas; that he was truly made from scratch.

Rio and Agatha made Nicolas, and that's why Rio came for him when he was born. Nicolas was never meant to be. He is an anomaly. He is outside the natural order of things (Rio says as much about William/Billy)

Nicolas is Of Death, and death doesn't give. Death only takes. Rio knows this. Agatha knows this. Nicolas was always living on borrowed time, it's all that Rio could give him and Agatha. It was her greatest act of love to see Agatha and their son. That's why Agatha and Nicolas lived in the forests, to be close to Rio. That's why when Nicolas says his mother needs him home, he runs back to forest and why Agatha is so worried.

Rio is his mother. Agatha is his mama and she knows his end is near.

God, this show is so layered and working on such deeper levels. I can't wait to rewatch.
