I'm sure this is not all of them... I mean. I have read more. And probably forget a bunch...

I wouldn't say I have a favourite ship... well there're times that I would invest more in a specific pairing, but that doesn't mean I like other ships any less. I have 5 drafts for Jasico and then I have a Nicobaster week and then a Percico-marathon. Generally speaking though, I would say I usually... prioritize (?) the rarepairs. Since you know, the canon one and the more popular ones alr have people building the empire for them. I might be the only one invested in a Son of Persephone with Nico, for example, so I tend to gravitate towards it, in hopes of contributing a small brick for this little tent compared to their nation; or sometimes it's just because there's someone else more invested in me and their dedication fuels me (yes you @drksanctuary).

Anw I hope this gives you an insight into how wild of a being I am LMAO. I'm a proshipper. I have no qualms when it comes to enjoying fiction - as long as I enjoy it. Be free. Trust me.

2nd General of the Zodiacs

Info:

Zodiac Ox or Run Niu was the second to step foot in the finish line just after Rat did. Ox helped him hitch a ride. He didn’t mind getting second place, seems chill and composed but deep inside the fella is actually socially awkward.

Role in the Celestial Realm

-Just like Zodiacs, he weaves the fates of time…

-His main role in weaving destiny is the foundation of civilizations, he ensures each civilization exists in a moment of time, even if in one cycle one thrives and in the next it is destroyed that one civilization still existed at some point regardless of the cycle.

-As for individual Fates, same with Zodiac Rat, he can only decide the fates born on the year of the Ox. He mostly gives them strength though.

-If not tending to his duty as a Zodiac, he maintains his role as the Builder/Keeper of Celestial Structures

-Before the Celestial Realm was this huge realm of cities and palaces, The Zodiac Ox made the Jade Palace, it was made to be a fortress to protect the Jade Emperor. He is credited with its construction.

-He helps alongside Rat in managing technology, he’s credited with most of the labor here, the Blacksmithing, the Construction, he’s basically in charge of all that needs crafting. So it takes a lot of responsibility for him

-Nezha’s ship and mech is a gift from him for taking care of Nico and the other ‘rejected’ Constellations. Ox deeply cares for his Cons, but because of his social awkwardness and anxiety he tends to keep silent about his opinions and choices, but with Rat he expressed his resentment to it openly and thus the extra district of the Zodiac Realm was made specifically for Nezha to take care of rejected cons.

-He barely shows up for meetings unless it’s important, which is mostly rendered to meetings with the Jade Emperor or meetings that require ALL the Zodiacs, on rare occasions he goes to the meeting because construction needs to be done but almost all the time he’s always busy working on something else.

-Also handles the Architecture of the Celestial Realm, examples are like the Lotus Palace…the Celestial Realm is mostly Greens, Blues and Yellows plus a few pink for people like Guanyin or other Celestials with Lotis motifs. He likes to make the color match the scenery so don’t try to protest his ideal…almost all the time it does end up looking grand and unique despite the buildings following the same patterns as the rest of the Realm.

Personal Info:

-Second in Command of the Zodiacs, but again typically when Rat isn’t available they all turn to Dragon. However if both aren’t available, Ox steps in. Despite what Ox thinks he’s actually a pretty good leader.

-So we got a cute leader who won’t be taken seriously and a socially awkward and anxious second in command…no wonder Dragon hangs out with these dudes.

-Surprisingly to Rat, he held no ill will for Rat winning the first place, again he was socially anxious and because of that was nervous of going first in the race, much to Rat’s surprise.

-He can get visibly irritated and will express it if he needs to, he is still a big dude. In fact, most people, even the Zodiacs don’t realize he’s actually nervous on what to do 24/7 during work, mostly because he’s also hardworking, he tends to look more cold and strict.

-He’s literally only close with Rat and Dragon…Snake is still debatable.

-Drinks with Rat in his spare time, mostly because they’re both workaholics. Sometimes Ox is Rat’s ‘designated driver’ but most of the time Dragon picks the two of them up.

-He can be strict if he’s the one personally constructing buildings, but if he’s not then it’s free rein basically. He tends to let the other celestials handle repairs and minor construction elements like fountains or extensions. Main construction? He’s usually handling that. Rumor has it he’s currently trying to find inspiration for a new spot for the Mountain gods because they’ve been complaining that the Celestial Realm being too high in the sky makes it harder to develop their powers.

-His Constellations are made out of obsidian. Strong enough to withstand almost every damage…because of this they have strong durability and last longer than most Constellations.

-He’s kind to his cons, he’s never actually told them what to do. He just guides them on what they need to do. It’s really rare for an Ox Con to have an assignment.

-Ox really enjoys his job, he tends to work on his own pace though…often times you’ll see him in the mortal realm in his free time.

i know you said you haven’t figured out it out yet but i’d like to hear any thoughts or random ideas you might have abt nezha & nico, either in general or in the time travel verse 👩‍🏫

Wow I didn't expect someone would actually be interested in this... Well, all the more motivation to be enthusiastic, then. xD

You're right that I've yet to figure out their connection, however, I can tell a little about that that drew me to the idea of them in the same picture.

The first would probably be their characterization.

Both are painted in black and white, of kindness and the flaws within. Afaik, the whole thing about Nezha is that he's a naughty, carefree, uncontrollable menace yet also kind in his own ways. He did so many wrongs and he tried to do just as many rights to make up for it. It's similar to Nico, in the way that they are kind at heart, yet can appear evil in others' eyes for some reason. And yes, they both have committed conventional horrible. Hell, Nezha peeled off Ao Bing's spine or st. Would you look at that, Bryce?

Grudge-holding. Now, I'm not saying I fancy what Rick did to Nico's fatal flaw, but talking in canon here, Nico held his sister's death against Percy (and himself) for quite a while; whereas Nezha, having died and was reborn again, literally came fighting his father because the man ruined his temple, where his soul resided. Like. If that isn't one hell of a grudge then I don't know what is.

Their spirits, their willpower, the prowess they possess despite their young ages. They are both so fierce, unstoppable, and resilient. Nezha is portrayed as a literal child in Chinese mythology, but his story is one hell of a ride (ya know, with all the slaying dragons, carving up his own flesh...). Idk about you but it gives me an impression of how intense Nezha might be, which is quite a reflection of Nico's story and characterization. Because Nico is... extreme, too, and you can't possibly tell me Nico's life story, with all that Tartarus and torture in the jar, isn't a grand tale in its own way. Alas, against all odds, they both emerge victorious. I love them.

They're both freaking powerful too, btw. But again, I guess every mythological figure is powerful in its own way.

Idk about you but I think Nico and Nezha should be allowed to sit down together and trade gory, creepy, bloody stories about themselves just to scare everyone else.

2. Their backgrounds, their stories.

They both have daddy issues omfg. Nezha literally fought his father, who ruined Nezha's temple, to the point of interference from other deities. And while I love Nico and Hades's love with everything in me, they did have a strained relationship throughout PJO. Hades told Nico he would prefer Bianca over him, and later nearly fired a ball at him. If that isn't parallel I don't know what is.

Their mothers love them so much I'm crying. Nezha's mother, Lady Yin, carried him in her womb for years and built him a temple when he asked her in a dream. And I suppose we don't need to talk about Maria anymore.

They are both, technically, 'prince's LMAO. Nezha is known as the Third Crowned Prince (or whatever that is bc Chinese is so hard to translate into English omg) and Nico is well, Nico. Their fathers are both technically kings, as well. Hades because obviously, Li Jing is known as one of the Heavenly Kings. And if you really look into it, Nezha is a commander of Heaven's army, directly under his father, whilst Nico is the Ambassador of Hades. Wow.

They are viewed as awful in people's eyes but still took efforts to help. I'm gonna admit my viewpoint might be altered by the Nezha (2019) movie. Nonetheless, I find it quite interesting that Nezha and Nico, though being scorned and ostracized by their kind, ended up being their saviors. Nezha killed himself when the Dragon King threatened to flood his hometown, and Nico went such lengths to aid the Seven with their world-saving quests. This is also proof of their kindness, which I adore so much, btw.

Feud with the sea. Well maybe not feud in Percy and Nico's case. A sensitive topic. History, maybe? Lol. Anyway, the fact remains that both Nico and Nezha share an unpleasant history with a son of the seas. If you take Nezha (2019) into consideration though, they both make peace with said animosity too! xD

They both befriend their old enemies. I'm talking about Wukong and Bob. It's fascinating, in a way lol.

These are everything I can come up with so far... Huh. I didn't expect them to share so similarities... I'm serious about Nezha and Nico having a bonding session now. These two are deemed to be besties.

It doesn't need to be in the Time Travel AU. Nico crash-landed in China before, didn't he? Maybe, Idk, Nezha was sent to investigate, and they ended up friends because Nico is as social as a capybara and Nezha has all the purity and generosity of a carefree child who fears nothing.
