I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS AND IDEAS FOR THE HOOKED AU (to the poitn that this is getting typed in my notes app🫣)
- her hitting jack in games is so funny to me. i jsut imagine her managing to slam him into the boards and he looks at nico after like “she could’ve done it harder, maybe she likes me🥰”
- her draft?? if she’s the same age as jack, maybe he was a little shit when she got drafted- but not too mean because i feel like he’d also respect her because of queen ellen so idk
- “i adopted the sad one” please it takes on introduction and quinn is like “she’s perfect for you jack- she bullies you too🫂”
- ….i’m very interested in her “collection” those interactions seem so funny to me
- the nyrangers admin😭
- PEOPLES REACTION TO THE ALL STAR WEEKEND- i just imagine a commentator losing his absolute shit
- “i also called you a felon” made me giggle
- her meeting luke. it’s not a want, it’s a need (he comes on for a game and she’s like “bestfriend🥰” and jacks all pouty?)
- HER DEBUTTT (it’s not a want, but it’s another need)
- them playing on the same team
…i apologize if this is a lot…oopsie🧍🏼‍♀️
I LOVE THIS AND I LOVE YOU
this… also got very long, 😃 but i hope it inspires more asks
- she’s a very physical player considering the main (the only reason i’ve seen that’s not entirely misogyny) reason women don’t become nhlers is the lack of hitting in women’s leagues and she wants to prove that she can be useful in that aspect of the game
the first time she hits jack he is not expecting it and the hits are consistent until they get to know each other and then she pulls a tiny bit
he’s blushing and kicking his feet and whatever and nico is like you’re fucking delusional kid
- she’s either drafted in 2019, 2020, or 2021
if she’s drafted in 2019, she initially sticks to cole like literal glue and that’s how she meets jack, who of course embarrasses the shit out of himself drunk and says something that happened to be a deep rooted insecurity of hers. she gets over it and during the summer she makes plans with cole again and jacks there, and this time he can handle his alcohol a little better and makes a better impression - when they start hooking up he remembers the night and feels like an ASS cause he now realizes why she avoided him like the plague
for 2020, it’s dawson she meets first, which makes a lot of sense with his role in the au. she becomes really attached to him in a permanent way and the first time they play each other he invites her out. a lot of the devils are confused and he’s like she’s cool i promise!! her on ice persona proves to be strictly for on ice shenanigans and a lot of them kind of feel bad as she’s definitely gotten some backlash for being a girl in the nhl. she’s getting advice from nico and she’s kinda tucked into dawson cause he’s her comfort person when jack comes up and also embarrasses himself cause he falls face first tripping over himself when he sees her out of her gear for the first time
if she’s drafted in 2021, jacks watching the live draft with luke and just as everything’s calming down with the excitement of luke going to the devils, the rangers announce that they’ve chosen you. they play a clip from your women’s league and from what he can see your game and energy is very similar to trevor’s (he hates it) and then later that night he sees the clip of you going around celebrating being the first woman drafted to the nhl and he goes back on that thought and cyber stalks you until your first time playing nj in which he meets you at the blue line for warmups and flirts so badly
- when quinn meets her in the media edit her and jack are already hooking up, and quinn doesn’t really piece that together cause she does a really good job at making fun of jack and avoiding his flirting
but jack?? is so obvious abt it
quinn’s convinced his little brother is getting off to her highlight reels
he only brings it up once she’s gone and he’s basically like ‘ur as red as your jersey and it’s pathetic but that whole ordeal was cute i guess. she’d fix you up,’
- her main adoptees (for some she is their adoptee, but i digress) are quinn, luke, dawson cole, nico, seamus and trevor
quinn is like that one friend who will egg on any and all bad decisions because he feels like she’s the only person who will know when to stop herself and that his stupidity will both be understood but not taken too far
‘should i tell igor i’m pregnant’ ‘fuck yes’
luke is like her little brother, they make fun of each other but they also want what’s best for each other and they will both fight for one another,
he is both pro y/n and anti y/n and loud about both simultaneously
dawson is one of her best friends in the world, the first time they connect for a goal once she’s a devil he jumps on her and they fall to the ice and squeeze each other for like a century
he’s like her comfort person and he’s one of the only people that she feels ok just going up to and like.. attack hugging when she’s upset
she is most often found standing under his arm and she’s always stealing ryleigh
cole is her #1 facetime buddy. he’s always on the phone while she’s like doing her hair or something. she has an automatic curling iron and he thinks it’s magic
he’s always her partner for chicken fight at the lake house cause ‘it’s harder to make short legs fall over’
very movie esque ‘duo that’s friends and nobody knows why cause they are so mean to each other’ vibes
nico is another one of her safe people cause after they were introduced in her first season she started going to him when she needed advice
he probably wasn’t the person to ask cause he wasn’t even all that experienced either at that time but regardless of if she took his advice she always felt like he understood
he likes to say that she trained him for his captaincy
he is protective as hell when it comes to her, too and he’s loud about it
seamus is her son. even while she’s a ranger. that is her son. she reaches out to him over instagram and is like how does moyle feel abt sharing?? cause i’m adopting you right now
she doesn’t know why
he doesn’t know why
he’s not complaining
that’s his mom now
she will absolutely never admit it but a lot of her game is based off trevor (as well as mm16) he’s very high energy and every time she saw him do something that had literally no place in an nhl game she was like heart eyed
if we think she was drafted with luke then she definitely had a FAT crush on him when he was on the u17 team
she can’t stand him (affectionate) now that she knows him better but he still inspires her a lot and all of the attention he gets for his style drives her even more
- rangers admin LOVES her cause she’s always on tiktok and she’s like ‘if u do this it’ll get views’
- twitter was in a FRENZY during the asg and the whole all star weekend
since it’s in toronto in 23-24 i can so see her trying to make an impression on mitch cause she wants to talk hockey with him so bad and i’m gonna assume austons there too so jack is butthurt that she’s hanging out with him and at some point he plops next to her on the bench and is like ‘we’re gonna get a goal together and we should plan a celly’
she’s opposed until he’s like ‘fine i’ll just pick you up and make you celly with me then’ and she gives in
(give me ideas for the celly)
but whatever it is they choose to do has people going fucking INSANE on twitter and tiktok and then the next four points they get together they just start making it more and more elaborate and at the last one (y/n goal, jack primary a) he just slides onto his knees and grabs her legs while she’s essentially t posing and yelling
they absolutely have the most energy out of anyone there (i don’t really remember the asg so i don’t even remember if the players even celly?? but i mean 5 pts warrants a scream celly even if it’s a scrimmage)
jack wouldn’t normally be like that for an asg but he’s LOVING the fact that almost all cellys include a hug
she views the all star weekend as one of her favourite nights and weekends off all time cause it’s one of the only times that all of the love she was getting and the love for her and jack overpowered all of the misogynistic keyboard warriors that hate women whining on socials and she had a completely positive weekend where all of her teammates were actually supportive and she felt wanted
commentators DO lose their shit over the two of them having such good chemistry and because commentating in the nhl is so bad i can assume that the words ‘a devil and a ranger’ were said about 28392748374 times that night alone
i want to say she gets mvp for the weekend but knowing the nhl it would be jack
he does not shut up about her during his interviews he’s like ‘she deserves this just as much or more than i do’ and then MORE people go insane cause jack ‘i didn’t know there was a town in new jersey’ hughes is eloquently complementing a teammate during a SCRUM
- she was genuinely so confused writing that comment cause at this point she’d called him j many times 😭 i think he was shocked she said it publicly but that’s all she could bring herself to reply
- assuming her first game in the nhl was before his they would probably meet in the 22-23 playoffs while luke was still in the press box
jack already had a HUGE crush on her and when she meets luke in the parking lot, walking with dawson she’s like !!!!!!! luke !!!!!!!
he’s with jack and jacks kinda thinking to himself like ‘she’s never like !!!!!! jack !!!!!!!!’ and dawson, being dawson invites them for beers at her place and she gets really close with luke that night
they’re giggling like they’re telling each other secrets and dawson is like ‘dude grow a pair and go fucking talk to her’
the next day luke’s texting her on the couch and she’s calling him moosey and her contact name is very incriminating and jacks a GROCUH for the rest of the day
- rangers debut? or devs debut? both??? i’ll do both
her debut with the rangers is so awkward because obviously she was chosen and signed because she’s skilled and deserves her spot
but a lot of them just do not like her
it’s the biggest reason she requested her trade
the only friend she felt that didn’t secretly just hate her guts for existing was igor, who obviously couldn’t help her case much seeing as he’s stuck in the net
during her very first game she was on the third line and her line mates were trying their very best to keep the puck from her cause they didn’t trust her with it
during the third period they’re down by two and she just takes the puck and leaves with it while her centre is obviously trying to set up a play that she was not meant to be a part of
she goes for the five hole and pots it and they don’t even really celly with her other than going behind her to shake hands with the bench
this fixes nothing and they still don’t want her with the puck so the coach moves her up a line and there’s much better chemistry and cooperation despite them still not being her biggest fan
igor gets it to her for a breakaway and she goes bar down with him as the only assist
this is mostly because the other team is also really underestimating her and they feel like they don’t really need to be on her
they’re covering her line mates cause they’re assuming she’ll pass and set up the play especially since her pass was from the goalie
the game goes to a shootout and after the other team misses their third shot the coach just kinda looks at the bench and calls her name
she’s shocked and the arena is dead quiet when she goes out on the ice
like pin drop quiet
she wins them the game and pretty much tells them that if they underestimate her again she’ll just let them lose and that she was signed for a reason and they need to grow tf up
her devs debut goes much more smoothly. it’s definitely a little harder for her to score at this point cause the other teams aren’t underestimating her as much
however the tension with her and jack is at an all time high after that text conversation
the first point she scores is a goal and jack isn’t an assist, it’s bratter and johnny
during the celly she smiles at him cause she feels different than her rangers debut - she feels different with the team and she feels like they actually love her and want her around
he wants so badly to make it up to her for everything he said in his messages and all he can think to do right in that moment is to hold the back of her helmet and knock his visor against hers a little
halfway through the period things between them are going so much better and the chemistry is very much there
she assists on his goal and they recreate the celly from the all star game and then she screams in his face out of pure excitement
he’s smiling at her like she created the world and people go nuts for that whole thing
a little bit into the second period is her wonderwall concert
her and dawson are belting with each other and there’s a gifset that goes around of the two of them singing that pans to jack being all heart eyed for her
the next shift she gets another goal, this one assisted by him and luke and the vibes are absolutely immaculate
during the very same shift luke scores, assisted by her and jack and she jumps onto luke like a proud older sister and shakes jacks shoulders all excitedly
in the final period she scores her last goal to complete the hattrick, assisted solely by jack
that’s when she jumps into his arms and he kinda spins around with her and squeezes her tight so her skates come off the ice a little
dawsons on the ice for this one cause it was mid shift change and he fake gags at them
she sticks her tongue out at him and when he joins the hug jack slides down to his knees and hugs her legs like he did at the asg
dawson screams ‘you two are fucking disgusting’ at the top of his lungs and she throws her head back and laughs
the post game celly includes a lot of beer and a shot for every one of her points (it was a long night) (there was a lot of making out) (and a lot of dawson, luke and johnny being grossed out) (and a lot of nico being a proud dad)
- them being on the same team is so good for everyone involved
chemistry?? off the charts
when they lose?? hugs on the bench
when they win??? jittery hugs on the bench
during the playoffs?? anxious hugs on the bench
being eliminated? you guessed it,
she’s a safe space for a lot of the team cause she gets it but it’s different? if that makes sense
they don’t usually rely on each other for emotional support hugs but with her they feel like that’s normal
in conclusion i love her

LUCAS RAYMOND/MORITZ SEIDER (2353) PRIMER
Tumblr media
Mo Seider is already well loved on hockeyblr, but most folks here don't seem to know about his cute, codependent relationship friendship with his teammate Lucas Raymond... like, look at the above GIF, then look me in the eyes and tell me you can't already see how adorable they are together. So because I feel like they’re underrated but have great shipping potential, I decided to write a ship primer!
I'm going to give some info about Lucas and Mo individually first, then I'll dive into why they make a good pairing... Feel free to read or skip whichever sections you'd like, since this is a pretty long post. Oh, and (as best as possible) I'll be linking to my sources, plus a few easter eggs! 😉
Moritz "Mo"/"Seids" Seider
Tumblr media
If he already looks familiar to you, it might be because Mo was the 2022 Calder Trophy winner. In the 2021-22 season, he led all NHL rookies in assists (43), power-play points (21), and average time on ice (23:03) in addition to being one of only 3 NHL rookies to play all 82 games (Lucas being one of the other three). Oh, and before he ever reached the NHL, he won the DEL cup in Germany with Adler Mannheim in 2019 and made it to the SHL finals in Sweden with Rögle BK in 2021, both of which he still happily talks about.
Tumblr media
Mo is known for his confidence, optimism, and "infectious personality." He plays and practices hard (look up any of his highlight clips) and is fairly humble when talking with the media. Although, his teammates are all quick to point out that he brings a lot of positivity, fun, and goofiness—in addition to a “big bod,” according to Lucas—to the locker room. Completely unsurprisingly, Mo loves chirping his teammates as well as his opponents (... and also his family). He doesn't overthink or worry about things, and he absolutely doesn't let himself get worked up—to the extent that he completely refuses to drop the gloves (like, at all).
Tumblr media
Birthday: April 6th, 2001 (♈︎)
Draft: 2019, 6th overall (to Detroit)
Jersey #: 53 (because of Herbie the Lovebug*)
Nationality: German 🇩🇪
Hometown: Erfurt, Germany
Height: 6’4” / 193cm
Teams: Detroit Red Wings (NHL, 2021-Present), Rögle BK (SHL, 2020-21), Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL, 2019-20), Adler Mannheim (DEL, 2017-19)
Position: Defence
Shoots: Right
*personal headcanon: Lucas would definitely call him lovebug as a pet name
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A big part of Mo's appeal off the ice is his childish joy about damn near everything. His favourite breakfast foods are Eggo waffles and Nutella, which makes it not at all surprising that he kept a tub of candy in his locker when he played in Sweden... He just has an enormous sweet tooth. He's also said (more than once) that if he weren't a hockey player, he'd be an Uber driver, of all things (honestly? I feel like the Wings media team should jump on that as a video opportunity... but what do I know...), although he's also admitted he would have been happy to be a pro-biker. And, adorably, he's incredibly ticklish.
As far as media goes, Mo has owned up to the fact that he watches the bachelor (even though Larkin says that he doesn't watch much TV—you'd think Dylan would embrace someone else on the team watching shitty reality TV?). He also has Generic Hockey Boy™ taste in music (rap, hip hop, and a bit of country—all lots of fun, but predictable), but is, some what more surprisingly, constantly dancing and singing (and singing even more... and even more... and there's still more singing later on in this post........). He also enjoys playing video games, especially Formula 1.
Also, Mo talks quite a bit with the other German players in the NHL, who he calls "the boys." He's especially close with Leon Draisaitl, who acts as a bit of a mentor toward him and Tim Stützle... although Leon happily, publicly chirps Mo (and vice-versa!).
Tumblr media
It's also worth delving into Mo’s fashion sense just a bit. He loves Lululemon (in spite of him shitting on "expensive brands" in one of the above breakfast break graphics... we're obviously in different tax brackets...), and Lucas has unhesitatingly said that Mo is well dressed—“Mo has actually a great shoe game… he has a LOT of shoes.” Also, his teammates chirp him about how vain he is about his hair (he's always touching it, even with a hat on). Bizarrely, Mo has said he gets compared to Harry Styles, looks-wise (by who, Mo? who would tell you that???), and oh yeah—tangentially related, but it's in that same link—apparently his hands are "bigger than you may think."
Tumblr media
Mo fell in love with hockey shortly after learning to skate. He got a flyer inviting him and his kindergarten classmates to come skate with the local team, which was a "beautiful moment" for him. After that, hockey was his passion—he loved watching the local, semi-professional team, and wanted to play for them as a kid (he ended up exceeding his dream, though, of course).
Speaking of which, Mo is very close with his family. His parents quit their jobs when he was 14 so he could pursue hockey in Mannheim, in spite of their initial hesitations about the sport because they associated it with fighting—not that they ultimately needed to worry since Mo won't fight! They even ended up buying themselves a hockey ABCs book when they realised he was well and truly head over heels for the sport. His dad, Kay, is particularly enthusiastic, especially when he's with the other Wings' dads. Meanwhile, his mom, Sabine, definitely babies him a little bit, and even decorated his apartment for him. He has a brother Marius, who's 10 years older and played a lot of sports growing up too (although not hockey), and Mo looked up to him quite a bit.
youtube
Aside from Lucas, Mo is closest with Joe Veleno, a Quebec native who had his first full year with the Wings during Lucas and Mo's first year. Joe played (and lived) with Mo in Grand Rapids during the '19-20 season before COVID brought things to a halt, and the two have stayed friends ever since. They had a show together during the '21-22 season called the MoJoe show, where they goofed off, chirped each other, sang "Take Me Home, Country Roads" (see, more singing! still more to come, though...), answered silly questions (such as "what would your perfect date be?"), and had Mo try apple cider. I don't want to spoil everything, though... definitely watch the show for yourself—the episodes aren't very long and it's super cute! (Also, there are episodes where Lucas guest hosts that you should absolutely watch. I'll discuss those a little bit in the relationship section of the primer.)
Lucas “Razor”/"Ray"/"Ray-Ray" Raymond
Tumblr media
Lucas has been a strong first line winger, playing (and gelling) well with Wings captain Dylan Larkin. And as mentioned before, he was one of three NHL rookies to play all 82 games in the 2021-22 season. He got his first hat trick just six games into his career, and he was also one of the early forerunners for the 2022 Calder, although he did ultimately hit a little bit of a slump. Oh, and he was the first Wings rookie since Nicklas Lidstrom to score more than 50 points. (Not to mention, prior to all that he was on the first Swedish U18 IIHF team to win gold, and scored a hatty in the gold medal match.)
Tumblr media
Lucas is not-so-secretly as soft as a marshmallow (although his thighs certainly aren't), much as he might try to put on a tough face with the media. He may be a bit less funny/outgoing in interviews than Mo, but he's great at chirping and is well liked by all of his teammates. Also, according to Mo, he's "always good for a joke—doesn’t take himself too seriously.” He can also be very earnest, and has admitted he wanted to go to Detroit more than any other team, in large part due to the Wings' Swedish legacy.
He's a "solution driven player," and is stubborn and competitive ("in everything," according to his mother), and is maybe prone to overthinking things, especially after a loss. "I just hate to lose. Hate it. Even in just a friendly game of poker with my dad. When we play cards in the evening, and he’s really good at cards, he eventually lets me win so that I can go to bed. I could never stop playing without a win," Lucas has said. All that aside, he is generally a very happy, positive person, especially with the people he's close to.
Tumblr media
Birthday: March 28th, 2002 (♈︎)
Draft: 2020, 4th overall (to Detroit)
Jersey #: 23
Nationality: Swedish 🇸🇪
Hometown: Gothenburg, Sweden
Height: 5’11” / 180cm
Teams: Detroit Red Wings (NHL, 2021-Present), Frölunda HC (SHL, 2018-21)
Position: Left Wing
Shoots: Right
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Off the ice, Lucas really enjoys golf (please click that link), although he's definitely more talented at juggling. He was tasked with learning how to juggle by a coach when he played for Frölunda, and he took to it pretty quickly... although he's not the only one on the team who can! (And both Lucas and Mo are pretty talented at puck juggling.) He's also totally a nap-lover, anytime anywhere. And, maybe most adorably, he really deeply loves romantic movies—“I don’t think Lucas wants me to tell this,” his brother Hugo has said, “but he loves romantic films with a great ending… Every night, we try to find a movie, a romantic movie, with a great ending. And if it doesn’t have a great ending, we watch a new one.”
Adorably, Lucas sometimes writes articles in Swedish for nhl.com/sv (five so far: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]). In these articles he talks about everything from his play to his teammates, his distaste for Swedish Christmas food aside from meatballs (way to be an Ikea stereotype, Lucas), him always packing snuff for away game trips (snuff is a Thing™ with hockey players, especially Scandinavians), his love of Swedish pizza, and him going to NBA games semi-regularly... Oh, and he signs off each blog post with "ha det gött," an informal way of saying goodbye that translates to "have a good one."
Tumblr media
In spite of Mo being the more obviously vain one of the two, Lucas apparently spends a lot more time getting ready in the morning, and Mo has said they share an interest in fashion. Unlike Mo, Lucas tragically rarely shows off his curls, instead preferring to keep a backwards baseball cap on off ice almost always (hence there not being all that many good pictures of him without one on). But, again like Mo, he does enjoy singing (if a tad bit less enthusiastically than Mo), and has the same stereotypical Hockey Boy taste in music.
Tumblr media
Growing up, Lucas played a really wide variety of sports, from swimming to gymnastics to golf to soccer (which he might have gone pro in if he didn't love hockey so much) to hockey, as well as wind-surfing, water-skiing, and skiing... his parents just encouraged him to do what made him happy, and constantly practising and pushing himself was what made him happiest. He basically had a constant drive to be better and do more.
Lucas is even bigger on family than Mo is—in fact, he frequently called home his first year (Mo has teased him about it). He has a lot of fond memories with his dad, Jean, who coached Lucas in soccer growing up and played floor hockey with Lucas and his brother (Lucas liked to play goalie), and also took Lucas to visit his family in France (according to that same article, Lucas apparently spoke French fluently as a kid). He's especially close with his mom, Cecilia, though. The two of them are similarly (freakishly) competitive and athletic, even among their already athletic family. Cecilia actually made the Swedish national team in squash as a teenager, and she's a personal trainer and dietician now... so she made sure to emphasize the importance of a proper diet and having fun while working hard to Lucas while he was growing up. (Lucas is still fairly strict about his diet, although his mom does say in that article that he hates vegetables.) Lucas has also always been pretty close with his older brother Hugo, who plays professional hockey in Sweden’s Division 3 league—the two of them grew up playing street hockey and soccer together, in spite of their two-and-a-half year age difference.
Tumblr media
And lastly here, I have no real excuse for including the above photo of Lucas with recent Wings rookie Jonatan Berggren, it just makes me giggle because they both look incredibly dorky. My fake excuse though is that I figured I should mention Lucas's friendships with the other Swedes on the team, including another recent Wings rookie, Elmer Söderblom, who's from the same town as him.
Raymond/Seider (2353)
Tumblr media
So now you're wondering—what makes the two of them so good together? (Especially since they both claim they wouldn't want to be stuck on a deserted island together.)
Lucas and Mo have insane chemistry—look, they even clap in time together! (That's weak evidence, I know... but bear with me here...) They basically instantly clicked—as Lucas put it, "It was really nice to have each other in the beginning... Everything was new for both of us, both in the same position, so to have each other to kind of talk to and just... it was not even that much about hockey often, it was just about other things and life ... It was really nice." Although, they quickly clicked on the ice too, in spite of playing different positions—Mo has said that "it’s easy giving [Lucas] the puck, and you know, like, either you get it back or something good will happen," and Lucas has said (in that same video) that Mo is a "complete defender" and that "it's easy to play with him."
Tumblr media
Their instant connection before even hitting the ice makes a lot of sense since, as mentioned before, they have overlapping tastes in music and fashion, among so many other things... And both are frequently described as mature and unusually clean for being young men (although Mo claims to be the messier of the two). They're also similarly competitive, but are both fairly joyful and laugh easily (see the first GIF of the post for proof, or even the first video of this section). And they hang out all the time—either at each other's apartments, or by going out to the movies together or, occasionally, NBA games (see above picture).
Tumblr media
Also, if Mo and Lucas frequently, publicly hanging out didn't make it clear already, they totally live in each other's pockets. They played most of their first two seasons together—aside from when Lucas had a lower body injury in February of 2023—and have been practically inseparable the whole time, starting with their first training camp.
Lucas stayed at Mo's apartment during camp and the start of the 21-22 season, when it wasn't clear yet if he was going to stay up for the whole season. He didn't actually want to move out of Mo's place—he mostly did because they wouldn't have enough room for everyone if both of their families were visiting at the same time (🥺). But Lucas has said that they still, "... live close to each other and spend a lot of time with each other. It was great for both of us to work through the same things [our first] season."
(It also sounds like they might have been/might be road roommates, based on vague comments in a few videos? But I can't find a definitive source on that. Still wanted to mention it, though!)
Tumblr media
Hilariously, Lucas never bothered to figure out Mo’s TV remote while living with him, so he’d just crash on his couch right when they got back from practice and then waited for Mo to come out to the living room to turn it on and pick a channel. He also would make Mo chauffeur him to practice until he got a licence and car.
Tumblr media
Also when they were living together (because there are so many good stories that came out of that), they would go out and play catch with a mini American football. Mo really loved that football, so when they were playing with it one day, Lucas threw it up onto a different apartment's balcony to mess with him a little bit. Kids were playing with it the next day though, so they didn't want to ask for it back... but they were ultimately gifted another one by fans during pre-game warm-ups.
Tumblr media
Their rookie year brought them together in mutual suffering too, beyond just the Wings' losing record. On one of their earliest road trips, they took one of the first elevators up when they got to the hotel, but neither of them had realised that elevators are supposed to be taken in order of seniority, veteran players going first... Lesson learned though (after some chirping and likely some fines), and they both "are waiting very patiently" for the later elevators now. Also, when they first played in Vegas, they were the only underage players on the team, so they didn't get to go out and have fun like the rest of the guys... they just had to hang out together, instead.
Tumblr media
They also regularly hosted Swedish fikas* together during their first season, inviting the older guys and their families over for coffee and snacks. This is kind of surprising (and cute) considering that Lucas can't cook pretty much at all and Mo has only recently gotten better at it. This past season, though, they started cooking dinner together sometimes as their own "tradition" (does Mo do most of the cooking, I wonder?).
*fika = a kind of coffee, snack, and conversation break , which is deeply engrained/treasured in Swedish culture 🇸🇪
Tumblr media
There's been a strong, ongoing narrative with these two since they joined the team. Not only were they pretty much instant best friends, they also frequently talk about each other in interviews, including their pre-game interviews before their mutual 100th game ([1] [2]). They scored their first points (assists) in the same game too—their very first one with the Wings (at home, no less)! Oh, and Lucas scored his 100th career point on Mo's birthday (against Buffalo, April 6th, 2023)—could that be anything other than fate? 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're also constantly chirping one another in the Wings' social media videos, including the promo video for Lucas's bobblehead night (see above GIFs for the best bit). And just in general, they frequently mention one another when answering questions for the Wings' TikTok account... it's sickeningly sweet.
youtube
youtube
Speaking of cute social media videos, here are the two episodes of the MoJoe show where Lucas is a guest host. The episodes are totally adorable and chirp-filled, and even if you don't intend to watch the whole series, you should at least watch these two episodes just to admire how terrible these two fools are at keeping a straight-face around one another. (And to cringe at how neither of them can sing on pitch... I told you guys there would be even more singing... 😂)
Tumblr media
When asked for three words to describe each other, Mo said Lucas, "needs a nap" because he takes a nap immediately after practice, then doesn’t reappear until dinner, and Lucas said Mo is, "funny, smart actually—sometimes—and very driven." (Lucas, that’s technically more than three words??? 🤔)
Tumblr media
And because this post is self-indulgence at its finest, I wanted to round things off with my personal favourite dorky quotes from Lucas and Mo about one another…
"I mean, both of us are very young, but the maturity that Mo plays with, I think that's probably his biggest strength." -Lucas (said very seriously, although he smiled a bit afterwards because Mo giggled in embarrassment and said "Stop...")
"I think especially for me, I just enjoy being around [Lucas], and yeah, he's putting a smile on my face." -Mo (said with a soft smile)
Tumblr media
2353 is still very much a rarepair, but it's worth shipping! 🥰
Obligatory RPF Disclaimer: Clearly these two are not and will never be together in real life. This primer presents carefully curated, publicly available information that does not attempt to give a full or intrusive look into either of these players' lives. This is so that people looking to read/write this pairing can build a better mental picture of characters loosely based on real people.

Wheeling Nailers Re-Sign Defenseman David Drake
Tumblr media
The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, are excited to announce their 12th player signing of the 2024 offseason. Wheeling has re-signed defenseman David Drake to an ECHL contract. Drake, 29, will become the 19th player in team history to play for the Nailers in parts of four seasons. David has appeared in 177 career games in a Wheeling uniform, which ranks tied for 17th on the team's all-time list. During that time, he has tallied six goals, 40 assists, and 46 points, in addition to a very impressive +32 rating. The blueliner's +12 rating was tied for the top spot on the team in 2022-23, while his +18 rating in 2023-24 was second best among defensemen, which highlights his ability to shut down the opposition. Drake was originally acquired by the Nailers in a trade with the Reading Royals during the 2021-22 season. David has also appeared in 14 AHL games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Providence Bruins, and Rochester Americans, to take his career total to 327 professional games, which makes him a veteran. Prior to turning pro, the native of Naperville, Illinois played four seasons of college hockey at the University of Connecticut from 2014-18. Drake registered 25 points in 124 career games with the Huskies, and was an alternate captain during his junior and senior seasons. One of his most notable statistics from college was his 170 blocked shots, as he averaged over one per game in each of his four years. A fun personal fact about David is that he was also an NHL draft pick, as he was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2013, while he was playing junior hockey with the USHL's Des Moines Buccaneers. David Drake and the Wheeling Nailers will open the 2024-25 season on the road against the Maine Mariners on Friday, October 18th. The team's home opener is Saturday, November 2nd against the Bloomington Bison at 7:10. Season memberships and other terrific ticket plans for the 2024-25 season are available now by calling (304) 234-GOAL. The Wheeling Nailers, considered one of the top things to do in Wheeling, West Virginia, provide affordable family entertainment for fans throughout the Ohio Valley. Read the full article

Golden triangle tour with Varanasi by India Golden Triangles Company.
India offers a Golden Triangle vacation including Varanasi. Golden Triangles Company blends the attractions of the well-known Golden Triangle tour with the spiritual and cultural riches of Varanasi. Here's what you can expect from such a tour.
Delhi: The tour would most likely begin in Delhi, India's capital city, which is famed for its blend of antique monuments, lively markets, and modern infrastructure. You may see prominent landmarks such as the Red Fort, India Gate, Qutub Minar, and Jama Masjid.
Agra: The tour would most likely depart from Delhi and travel to Agra, home to the exquisite Taj Mahal, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Aside from the Taj Mahal, you could see the Agra Fort and other Mughal architectural marvels.
Jaipur: Following Agra, the tour will take you to Jaipur, the colorful capital of Rajasthan known as the "Pink City." You can see the Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), and the bustling bazaars.
Varanasi is the tour's highlight, as it is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities and India's spiritual center. Varanasi is famous for its ghats on the sacred Ganges River, where pilgrims perform rites and festivities. You might see beautiful Ganga Aarti rites, take a boat ride down the Ganges at sunrise or sunset, and wander the small streets lined with temples and lively bazaar.
This tour weaves a complex tapestry of India's cultural, historical, and spiritual legacy, from the grandeur of the Mughal period to the eternal rituals of Varanasi. Make sure to ask about the itinerary's features, such as accommodations, transportation, guided tours, and any special activities included in the package.

Future Favorites as College Basketball Begins
Tumblr media
The college basketball season for both men and women began on Monday, and two unusual upsets highlighted opening night. The best women’s basketball team in the land, the LSU Tigers, were easily handled by the Colorado Buffaloes, 92-78. Frida Foremann of Colorado led the upset with 27 points and seven 3-pointers. Angel Reece, who was the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player when LSU rolled to the national championship last spring, had just 15 points on 15 shots. It was the first time a women’s defending national champion lost on opening night since 1995. On the men’s side the No. 4 ranked Michigan State Spartans lost to James Madison, 76-74 in overtime, making it just the first time a top-five team lost to an unranked opponent on opening night since 2005. That team that lost in 2005 was Michigan State. This was the first November home loss for the Spartans since 1986, and just the second time in school history that James Madison has beaten a ranked team.
Men’s National Championship Favorites
- Kansas (+1000) - Duke (+1100) - Purdue (+1100) - Kentucky (+1200) - Arizona (+1400) - UConn (+1400) - Michigan State (+1800) - Marquette (+1800) Kansas has made head coach Bill Self the highest paid coach in the nation, and the Jayhawks are the favorites to win another national championship. They won it in 2022, but last year they were knocked out in the second round by Arkansas. UConn is the defending national champion, and the Huskies are tied with Arizona for the fifth shortest odds to begin the season. The Wildcats won the Pac-12 Tournament last year and were awarded a two-seed, but they were bounced in the first round by the 15th-seeded Princeton Tigers. Michigan State has fallen to +1800 after their loss to JMU in East Lansing.
Women’s National Championship Favorites
- UConn (+400) - LSU (+450) - Iowa (+900) - Utah (+950) - South Carolina (+1100) - UCLA (+1400) - Indiana (+1500) - Ohio State (+1800) LSU has dropped behind UConn as the early favorites to win the women’s national championship. UConn holds the record with 11 women’s national championships, and this season they have Page Bueckers. She was the AP, Naismith, and John Wooden Player of the Year in 2021, but missed all of last year with a torn ACL. She headlines a great battle for this season’s player of the year, with Reece from LSU and Caitlin Clark of Iowa. Reece is the preseason SEC Player of the Year, and Clark is the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year. Reece and Clark, and LSU and Iowa, played in the finals last year of the highest rated NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament in history.

The latest market report published by Credence Research, Inc. “Global Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Therapeutics Market: Growth, Future Prospects, and Competitive Analysis, 2016 – 2028. The global non-hodgkin lymphoma therapeutics market has witnessed steady growth in recent years and is expected to continue growing at a CAGR of 8.80% between 2023 and 2030. The market was valued at USD 8.5 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach USD 15.34 billion in 2030.
The global non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) therapeutics market is expected to experience substantial growth in the coming years, driven by key factors such as the rising incidence of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, the expansion of potential pipeline medications, high diagnostic rates, and a susceptible pediatric population.

However, the chemotherapy segment is expected to exhibit the fastest CAGR during the forecast period. Among cell types, B-cell lymphomas dominate the global demand for non-Hodgkin lymphoma therapeutics, holding a substantial share of over 80% in 2022 and projected to grow at a rapid CAGR.
Geographically, North America leads the global market growth, contributing to over one-third of the market share in 2022. The region's dominance is attributed to the high prevalence of various cancers, including non-Hodgkin lymphoma, as well as advanced diagnostic and treatment options. Asia Pacific and Europe collectively account for just under 50% of the market share, with Europe holding over 22% in 2022.
Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) Therapeutics Market Major Challenges revolve around the complex nature of this hematologic malignancy and the ever-evolving landscape of treatment options. Union Leaders Rally Behind Su
Tumblr media
Today, Politico highlighted a broad range of voices coming out forcefully in support of Acting Secretary Julie Su’s nomination to be U.S Labor Secretary, including labor unions, business groups, former Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, and others. “‘Julie Su has been a champion for labor, and labor is mobilizing in the way only we can,’ AFL-CIO spokesperson Ray Zaccaro said. he administration has highlighted her support from groups like the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Majority and those representing Asian American and Pacific Islanders. If confirmed, Su would be Biden’s first APPI Cabinet secretary and his fourth AAPI Cabinet member overall.” Walsh has also been actively engaged in the process and advocating for Su with labor and business leaders and senators, according to an administration official.”
The full story:
Politico: Unions pour on support for Biden’s Labor pick amid confirmation worries Authors: Nick Niedzwiadek and Jennifer Haberkorn. Unions are stepping in to boost President Joe Biden’s pick to lead the Labor Department as Democrats seek to avert an embarrassing defeat that would set back the administration’s agenda for workers. Unified Republican opposition to the nominee, Julie Su, has the unions and the White House focused on a handful of moderate senators who have yet to make their intentions known — Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Jon Tester (D-Mont.), Angus King (I-Maine) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.). The AFL-CIO this week began rolling out a campaign to drum up support for Su, with an emphasis on getting local affiliates to lean on undecided senators and a six-figure ad buy running in Washington, D.C. and Arizona. The “Stand with Su” effort is a direct counterweight to some of the forces that have been lobbying against her — including the name choice, as one of the main anti-confirmation groups is called “Stand Against Su.” “Julie Su has been a champion for labor, and labor is mobilizing in the way only we can,” AFL-CIO spokesperson Ray Zaccaro said. A key part of the pitch is that Su, who faces a committee vote Wednesday, is in the same mold as former Labor Secretary Marty Walsh, a seasoned politician who had fans on both sides of the aisle and who has been directly involved in rounding up support for her, according to an administration official. Su served as Walsh’s deputy secretary beginning in July 2021 and has been acting head of the department for the past month, after Walsh stepped down to run the NHL Players’ Association.   “She has worked hand in hand with Marty Walsh,” American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten told POLITICO. “If you liked the way Marty Walsh operated as the Secretary of Labor, then there’s no reason not to embrace Julie Su.”   But Republicans say Su, who was labor secretary California before coming to Washington, would veer sharply left of Walsh and used a confirmation hearing this week to portray her as anti-business and captive to labor’s priorities. Although all five of the senators in question voted to confirm Su as deputy secretary, Manchin, Tester and Sinema are likely to face tough reelection fights next year. “The more that people learn about her track record and just how bad she was in this role in California, we’re seeing that shifting the debate,” Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-Calif.), a leading critic of Su, told POLITICO prior to her confirmation hearing. “It’s very different when you’re going for the top position than being under Marty Walsh.”   The battle over Su is the Biden administration’s first attempt at replacing a Cabinet secretary, and the latest test of Democratic leadership’s ability to confirm nominees after multiple high-profile misfires. Though Su is already steering the department, administrations are typically wary of issuing major policy decisions without a permanent leader, meaning that a protracted confirmation fight could bog down the agency for months. Administration officials are holding nightly “war room” calls with Su’s backers to discuss the game plan for the following day and to track developments, according to a White House official. The administration also holds 15 to 20 check-in calls per day across labor and business groups. Walsh has also been actively engaged in the process and advocating for Su with labor and business leaders and senators, according to an administration official. Many Democrats on Capitol Hill are hopeful Kelly, Tester and King will support Su. If that is the case, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein remains in San Francisco recovering from shingles, Su and the White House would still need to win over Manchin and Sinema, both of whom have bucked the president in the past. Neither senator is on the committee that will vote Wednesday on whether to advance Su’s nomination to the floor and attention will fully turn to them immediately after the vote. Su has been ramping up her meetings with senators of both parties in recent weeks, though she has yet to meet with several key holdouts. She has spoken to Sinema, according to two sources familiar with the situation, and the White House is in touch with Manchin, an administration official said. Su doesn’t have a traditional “sherpa,” a veteran lawmaker or some other plugged-in operative who typically leads Cabinet officials and other important nominees through the confirmation process on Capitol Hill. The lack of one has raised eyebrows among some of Su’s supporters about the White House’s level of support for the nomination. The term “sherpa” is being phased out at the White House, however. Instead, she has a “navigator” — the senior leader of the Labor Department’s congressional affairs shop. The office has led Su through the process and accompanied her at each of her Senate meetings, according to that official. Su is only the second Cabinet official to go through the confirmation process since the first months of the Biden administration — Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Arati Prabhakar being the other — and the agencies now lead the confirmation process, an administration official said. With an obvious eye toward Manchin, the White House has heavily touted Su’s support from labor unions, including the AFL-CIO, Teamsters and, most significantly, United Mine Workers of America. While a recent letter of support from Mine Workers President Cecil E. Roberts may pull weight with Manchin, Su supporters have been cautious to not be too heavy-handed with either him or Sinema, knowing that an overt lobbying effort may backfire.   “The White House knows what they need to do for the best outcome to get Julie Su confirmed,” said an organized labor official, who requested anonymity to discuss political strategy. “They know the relationship dynamics they have with the senators in question. And they know it’s a complicated circumstance that requires deft and delicate management.”   The White House’s light-touch strategy is not entirely reliant on unions to shoulder the lobbying load and the administration has highlighted her support from groups like the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Majority and those representing Asian American and Pacific Islanders. If confirmed, Su would be Biden’s first APPI Cabinet secretary and his fourth AAPI Cabinet member overall. But organized labor is at the center of the pro-Su push. “There’s a world of Julie Su supporters out there, and we’re trying to show that,” the labor official said. “We saw these senators vote for her and there’s no reason to vote against her now. It remains to be seen just how uncertain they actually are.”   Sources: THX News, The White House & Politico. Read the full article
