would you recommend infinity nikki as a game? i heard it's got like, loads of micro transactions and stuff since it's a gacha/lootbox game

Well the base game is entirely free with no paywalls anywhere and you don't actually have to buy anything. Like if you want certain outfits you really like sure, but you get enough crystals while exploring and doing the special events you don't need to unless you're one of those 100% perfectionist types and even then if you're crafty you prob don't need to do it. I don't mind buying stuff now and again but that's 'cause I got disposable income lol. It just means you'll need to do more grinding for items or crystals but it's actually fairly easy enough to do. I actually found the fact you have to play it constantly online as more annoying than the store.

The base game has more than enough content for you to ignore the store entirely. The game is also good if you like open world exploration and dress-up games, which I both like so I've been playing it a lot lol but yea, store is not essential. I just like this game a lot cause it's cute and pretty and open world like Portia and whatnot

I usually pick brown hair&eyes combo because of a promise to my younger self who was really hung up on never seeing these things on the pretty characters in cartoons. Besides that, I just go with whatever I'm feeling at the moment, or which message I want to convey with their appearance.

Sometimes, I make the badass characters look doll-like cute on purpose (the warden) because I think it's funny. Other times it's full cunty cover-of-vogue model deadpan stare.

And if the game has an appearance editor, then I try to have fun by incorporating their looks into the storyline! For V, I've been changing their hair colour during every major act and switching to a faded look at the second part of the act. It's an attempt by V to have a resemblance of control over the body they're slowly losing. Even then a lot of V's more extreme and clearly artificial body parts (like eyes) were a result of a teen rebellion phase they never truly got over. (name a single nomad without massive mommy/daddy issues)

Or with Shepard, who I switched their wardrobe to more dark clothes and military unifroms during ME3, while they had a more "middle age mom going to a party" vibe in ME2. Also, the style of only using dark lipstick as makeup and nothing else is very common in older women.

For my Tav in bg3, I gave a lot of accessories and over the top outfits to fit their "vain" personality since this Tav associated their worth based on their appearance. And while they look pretty, they put a shit ton of work into it each morning. It's a double-edged sword as the more good-intentioned people compliment them over their appearance, the more they reinforce this Tav'a toxic thinking.

While for Rook, I wanted a more natural beauty sort of vibe, someone who's been handed a good deck of card in life and never been the underdog. Seamlessly charismatic but stunted emotionally wise. Someone who's down for a good time but not a long time, they can't take things seriously and expect everything to work out at the end through sheer blind optimistim.

For Ryder, I made her during Valentine's Day, so I tried to envision what a rose would look like as a person, and this was the results! Using red hair for the petals felt a little too... predictable.

For Nikki I'm just balling ngl.

Shepard is my favourite to make ngl. All the other characters are pretty young, so they had a certain youthful style. But Shepard is in her 30 or 40s! That's the perfect time for a cunty older woman look. Mature styles that would've fallen flat on younger characters make Shepard glow instead.
