Like because of those subtext, there can be fanfics and fanarts, right? And then I decided to read your fics and this blog of yours are the best...

okay, so... there are so many things in those tweets i have issues with lol

the first being the judgment and policing. both tweets u shared w/ me have those vibes and i h8 those the most, in fandom space AND irl. just... why? let ppl enjoy what they what. I'm all about recommendations but not w/ this sort of disdain and condescension... they're just unnecessary.

the second is kinda related to the first in that it's all about preferences and circumstances... should be more open-minded and consider that, maybe, ppl LIKE actions and mysteries and whatever and the shipping is a side gig... we just happen to like the relationship dynamics between some characters within these media and we ship them.

honestly, ppl really, really need to learn to just not be bothered by what other people like.

the third thing being NOT EVERYTHING WITH INTENSE SAME SEX FRIENDSHIP IS QUEERBAITING. there are nuances to relationships beyond the typical heteronormative, allonormative, and amatonormative ones.

ngl but i never really understood why ppl thought some anime or drama are queerbaiting when friendships and kinships are just as intense, maybe even MORE intense than romance. and not everything is romance either, jesus christ... just because a relationship or a dynamic doesn't neatly fit with their version of how relationships work doesn't mean the creators are queerbaiting... relationships are so saturated with cultural and traditional nuances, even languages! and they can be very situational as well. idk why ppl insist on examining relationships from such narrowed lenses.

6. Do you have a certain kind of ship you’re more attracted to?

My first instinct is to reply “the queer ones” XD but other than that, I think I’m drawn to ships that have a lot of intensity between them in canon. I’m not really the kind of person to high-key ship any pairings that are entirely fanon-based, as a rule; I need to be invested in their relationship in canon. With Drarry, for example, I didn’t ship them when I read the books, but once I got into the fandom I realised just how intense their interactions in canon are (I mean? Sectumsempra? RoR? The Malfoy Manor scene?) and I couldn’t stop thinking about them. Same with Catradora (they CAN’T be chill around one another, jesus, they’re helpless), Sheith (every time they talked or even looked at each other I was at the edge of my seat), Bubbline (they had me at I’m Just Your Problem ngl), Entrapdak (love me some good 'character who feels unlovable and can’t trust anyone finds someone that actually cares about them'), Simon/Betty (seriously if you’re an Adventure Time fan you KNOW what’s up), Ellie/Riley from TLOU (my heart still fucking hurts okay??) and a long, long etc.

Hmm 🤔 obviously there are a lot of popular ships that I don’t like because I’m not in the fandom and don’t know who they are, but some popular ships in my fandoms I don’t like are Grindeldore, Neville/Luna, Princess Bubblegum/Finn the Human, Klance, Aloy/absolutely anyone (from Horizon: Zero Dawn), Pearl/Amethyst... and I’m sure I’m forgetting some, lol. Oh! I also watched BBC Sherlock and the queerbaiting was so obvious it made me not ship Sherlock and Watson at all, lol.

As in canon scenes, or as in scenes I love the most in fic? I’m gonna go with the second option because I can’t choose just one canon scene for all my ships XD I love confession scenes so much. I love the knowledge finally downing on them that the other is in love... the thrill of tentative/intense/rushed/desperate first kisses/touches/sex scenes... 😍

when of if I started shipping it: do I though? DO I??? XDD (Dean is my Schrödinger fave and my feelings for a couple of his ships go down the same path lol). I guess the answer is, I don’t really know LOL. All through s4 their scenes were very impactful but I was resisting it; then the endverse, aka post-apocalypic AU with their future versions interacting with present!Dean came and hit me in the face. So there.

my thoughts: it’s a far more interesting dynamic that I’d expected it to be. And the queerbaiting is... wild. Like I objectively knew there was queerbaiting but like. Dean makes him a mixtape at some point?? What kind of 80s romcom bullshit is that xDD. I have a lot of issues with this fanbase, but sometimes I can understand why they went a little feral ngl.

What makes me happy about them: like I said, their dynamic is interesting lol. It’s not very charitable of me, but I have to say that’s not what I usually find whenever I’m face to face with Migratory Slash Fandom phenomenon. I can actually understand the ~hype for this one instead of just being... baffled and dismissive lmao.

What makes me sad about them: I’m spoiled of things down the road that I know will sour the ship for me beyond repair, so there’s that.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: I haven’t read any fic, but my guess is that it’d probably be about characterization. Just in tumblr over the years I’ve seen a tendency to defang Castiel and woobify Dean, and both those things would annoy the hell out of me.

things I look for in fanfic: when I eventually look, I’m guessing the first thing I’ll go for is Endverse angsty stuff xD (after I write my own, to avoid ~cross-contamination ofc.

My kinks: well, the show favours dom!Castiel and who am I to contradict it xDD (like, he’s one of those characters where the actor physically does nothing for me, but then he gets intimidating/dommy and the scene itself is always sexy, it’s a fact xDD).

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: well, my preferred Castiel ship is actually Megstiel lol. And I enjoy him with Anna, Sam, Crowley, potentially more rareships... The only other Dean ship I’ve had feels-feels more (AND also a love-hate relationship with lol) is Deanbela, so there’s that (I have a Thing for Anna/Castiel + Dean but that’s another story).

My happily ever after for them: eh. I don’t think you can have a happy ending with someone that treats your son the way Dean did Jack, especially when Castiel seems to be kept in the dark from it. So from season... 13 I think? onwards, I just don’t think it’s in the cards *shrugs*.

1. When did you start watching Supernatural?

December 2017. It was an accident, I swear. I used to be really into Overwatch (before uni took over my gaming life (I dont play anymore)) and I came across this post. At first I thought it was like Dr. Who or something, I didn't know. So I reverse image searched it on Google, and found Supernatural. I found out it was on Netflix, and watched the pilot. I was scared, but didn't think it was anything special. But then Jess burned. And then at Sam's "we have work to do" line, I was sold.

(And then I sat through 7 seasons trying to spot the scene that was in the gif that started it all.)

2. Who is your favorite in TFW?

Castiel, easily. That isn't to say I dont like Sam and Dean though. I love all of them. All of them. I just have a preference for Cas

Sam: I was genuinely worried about him not making it back to his interview on time. I just wanted him to be alright.

Dean: I wanted him to be my older brother ngl. He just cares so much, and I loved that about him.

Cas: "Holy shit that's Castiel. Oh my god that's his voice?" (I thought he would lose the voice and the trench coat over time. He did neither.)

Jack: I just wanted him to be good so bad. I was so relieved when he turned out to be an actual bean.

9. What’s your favorite season?

Season 12, probably. I didn't like the whole BMOL thing, but 12 has a ton of my favorite episodes (Stuck in the Middle (With You), Lily Sunder has Some Regrets, Baby, All Along the Watchtower)

10. What’s your least favorite season?

Season 7. There's just... not a lot there? Leviathan weren't as big of a threat as I thought, and there was a substantial lack of Cas.

11. Opinions on Destiel?

Oh god, it's taken over my life. I love it, I really do, because you know what? It's so goddamn sweet, and soft, and romantic, but at the same time it's tough, it's gritty, and it's just two guys trying their best under almost impossible circumstances. And at the end of the day, when the world is safe, they deserve each other. They've earned some semblance of peace, which they can find in each other. No one understands Castiel like Dean does and vice versa. They're a match made in hell and they're perfect for one another. I just want them to be happy

12. Do you believe Supernatural queerbaits?

Well, to some extent yes, but not on purpose.

13. Seasons 1-7 or 8-14?

8-14. Maybe it's because there's more Cas, or maybe it's the character development. Maybe it's just personal preference.

14. Favorite villain (plot wise)?

Lucifer from s4-5. In case any of you didn't know, I used to adore Lucifer when I first watched the show. He was my favorite character when I was watching seasons 4-5, (like almost toppled Cas for 1st place favorite). I really liked Lucifer. When they brought him back officially in season 11 I was ecstatic. Then they kept him in 12, but his personality wasn't the same. Then 13. It just really ruined the character for me, and I wish they just let him get his closure in 11 before ending his storyline completely. But no. They just. Kept. Bringing. Him. Back. And now he's like a whole different character entirely. I hate it. I miss old Lucifer :( Sorry for the rant

15. Do you think they should end the Lucifer plot line?

Lucifer is dead, so technically it's already over. But I would be really upset if they brought him back if that answers that question.

It's a tie between Stuck in the Middle (With You) (12x12) and Lazarus Rising (4x01)

Yes. It reminds me of Old Supernatural, and it's just nice to see the boys helping people no matter what. End of the world be damned that lady has a poltergeist and hell, if they aren't gonna help her who will?

Dean. I dont know if it's the music, the cars, billiards, humor, cowboy obsession, or being a closeted bisexual, but we've got a lot in common.

It's such a unique show. When I first joined the fandom, and I saw the tag SPN family, I was like haha sure. But once I got involved, holy hell. Absolutely no fandom is like the Supernatural fandom. Yes we may have our differences in opinions, ships, characters, but everyone here loves this show. And I love everyone here. It really does feel like a family. This is kind of the same reason I adore the show. The theme of found family, and the way that Team Free Will will always find a better way because that's what they do. ngl i’m usually That Bitch who ships the most popular pairing (i.e. marvel -> stucky, teen wolf-> sterek, hobbit-> bagginshield) but if Sciles is considered popular, let’s go with that one (even tho i prefer most of my fics with as little scott as possible)

8. Unpopular opinion about Teen Wolf?

I feel like most of my opinions about it are shared by a lot of people (and i’m sure you know them all too), but my hatred for Jeff Davis and Tyler Posey has no limits, and the show should definitely not have gone on for 6 (technically 8?) seasons. Also, the queerbaiting was through the fucking roof, and forcing your own actors to stop talking about a certain ship that a lot of people (including said actors) like is disgusting and vile.
