hey lovelies!!!! so I was chatting in my discord server (join link in bio) and I was talking about some of my fav online thrift shops and I was prompted to make a fashion site masterpost for all of y’all!!!! most of the sites are used clothing.

depop

ngl i dont use depop a lot but these are 3 of my top sellers. depop is good for a lot of clothes and shoes sometimes but the prices are very marked up and sometimes sold by white girls (slight gentrification of goodwill etc causing prices to go up) so I would keep that in mind. (also please do not buy bundles from depop, you’ll most likely be disappointed)

celestialyouth - one of the biggest sellers, not exclusively DA, however their retro pieces NEVER fail. has DA items sometimes, but their trousers etc are whats the best in my opinion. (20~ dollars per item)

Lo & beehold - my fav seller. their clothes are very cheap, almost the same as thrift store price, and their style is just *sigh.* more light academia than dark but they have pretty good items for both. (10-20 dollars per item)

Prophecy Vintage - not very DA but quickly becoming one of my new favs. they have very cool reworked jeans (with celestial prints!!!!) but they are quite expensive. (60+ dollars per item)

terms I would search for -

double pleated trousers, khaki pants, blazer, double breasted blazer, tweed, long khaki coat, etc. (if you search up DA directly it’s most likely clogged in my experience)

etsy

yeah NGL i dont use etsy either ( I dont really shop online) but etsy is good for small things like crystals sometimes and even bigger thrifts (cheaper than etsy) but it can be hard to find sometimes. I don’t really have a shop specifically (again, don’t use etsy) but here’s some terms I used: dark academia blazer, vintage earrings 14k gold, vintage trousers, suit vest, wool coat, and then literally [color] [clothing item] usually just works. oh and they have a CRAP TON of good decor as well.

other sites

EBAY - case by case. similar to etsy. just use the same terms. oh and EBay has better bags so......

SHEIN - I hate shein, however if you are broke, sadly shein is the only way to go sometimes.

and uh finally (I literally don’t wanna release this)

beacon’s closet - one of my absolute favorites. so good for jewelry and occasionally steals in the clothing dept. their online site is a lot worse since COVID and not as many items but their physical stores? Muah. make sure you check them out (they’re in NYC)
