Joker POV
“Welcome to the Velvet Room, Goro Akechi”
Swap AU/NG+/Velvet room AU
Reading direction from right to left
Yes I just had to combine all the AUs and fandom troupes into one bc I am indecisive
Basically Ren made another bet of reviving Akechi and play the game again in his place bc he believes he will win, surely given right chance Akechi would do better, right? Right??? 😬
#it has a lot of possibilities: does Ren stay as attendant and disappear after the game is done?#or Akechi finds a way to turn him back to normal?#anyways your pick!#fanart#persona 5 fanart#persona 5 Royal#persona 5#persona 5 royal spoilers#akeshu#shuake#art#persona 5 protagonist#ren amamiya#akira kurusu#akechi goro#goro akechi#role swap au#velvet room#ng+

WOAH AU JUMPSCARE!!! hi yes this is my very self indulgent hamtoshi au I have lovingly called reversed fates!
Basically it's a ng+ au where Hidetoshi somehow travels back in time a year after wishing he could have done something to save Kotone and takes on the wildcard role in her stead. He's the only who remembers everything, but he quickly learns how little that actually helps him when it comes to the dark hour...
More details under the cut! (Huge shoutout to some of the peeps over in the Hidetoshi Server btw for their big brained ideas... ya'll are my life saviours i swear fjghf)
More details on the main gang's personas (+Hidetoshi's starting social stats)
(Note: as of writing this I have not finished P3P so I don't have a list of the Personas from Kotone's compendium yet.)
As for the velvet room, Hidetoshi gets his own Velvet Room attendant by the name of William, who I have shared a reference here, his velvet room basically looks like those film noir detective office.
Because of the nature of his arrival to the velvet room, and the fact that Kotone already filled her compendium, Hidetoshi is not allowed to fuse personas- he is however free to summon and use Personas from the compendium (William is... too nice and socially anxious to charge him money for it).
Some other info about the AU! >Kenji swaps roles with Junpei, while Rio swaps roles with Chidori. >In his au, Kenji knows Rio but hasn't seen her in 10 years so is unware she is also a persona user working with Strega. >Chidori is a regular student at gekkokan, a third year student who manages the art club. >Kotone remembers nothing, however the death incarnate within her does! The bad news is that Pharos' memories are scattered and he can only remember enough to know that he can't let her sign the contract... The good news is that Hidetoshi can see & hear him for some reason and doesn't hesitate to sign it if it means saving Kotone. >Did I mention this is a hamtoshi au? yeah this guy didn't get to confess his feelings last time around and he ain't about to mess that up twice...He just has to get to know her as a friend all over again. (oooh he internally yearns for her sooo bad you have no idea, he loves her so much) >Aigis is no longer here, instead taking her role is Makoto! He definitely wasn't there last time though... >Hidetoshi and Kenji are in 2-E, while Kotone and later Makoto are in 2-F.
#robin draws things#persona 3#reversed fates au#hidetoshi odagiri#kotone shiomi#kenji tomochika#makoto yuki#technically its just makoto in this au but shh#hamtoshi#robin kenji posting#(also while incredibly lowkey and not a focus at all you bet your damn arses i will sprinkle some kenjikoto in there somewhere lmao)#(it's my au and therefor i can do whatever i want)

WIP: list of P5 AUs
Crown the Pawn: Your ol classic Roleswap Shuake AU but Akechi remembers. goro has to use loki via bluetooth on joker to trigger call of chaos, make him go pyschotic so it maybe unlocks his memory back so they can do shit right. joker isnt very happy with the role he has to play.
Heart of Depth / The Mightiest of Seas (Pirates AU): Ren was a captain at some point and Goro was a pawn for shidos fleet. (its complicated)
Superconduct (Pacific RIM AU): Ren an ex-pilot works on makeshifts jeagers with futaba. Akechi practices solo piloting patrolling and ravaging illegal and unregistered units made outside the corps in the outer suburban areas. The smugglers call him the Black Mask.Akechi finds them scavanging metal components in a discarded unregistered Jaeger(Arsene) in the outer urban areas and he tears Arsene apart. Ren was a perfect Pilot, the best scores, but after something. he starts failing every test. Upon his brief imprisonment and his return his compatibility tests keep failing, he leaves one of the PTs on a comma
Noragami AU: Lowly God Akira, Akechi is Shidos Shinki. working with Nao
Side Hustle (Hades AU): Zag-Akechi, Demigod Prince of thieves Joker.with Nao
Passerine/? (HadesxPJO AU:) child of zeus (unclaimed) akechi praetor, amnesiac hermes child joker, goros very mad about this. with Nao
Arcane AU: Firelight leader (here called the phantoms), Joker, and Enforcer Akechi.
Hunger Games AU: pawn of the revolution joker. games victor goro works both as celebrity and agent for in the games. after winning Joker realizes he is being used by the revolution so he makes his own group to cause mayhem, and Goro double crosses everyone
Arcana Shuffle AU: NG+ only adults remember, joker isnt fated anymore but like remants of weird power and fate clung to him so instead of waking arsene he wakes the fucking reaper, goro's mother is alive, he has a real life and friends and so makoto is the trickster and haru is the other side of the coin. akechis role here starts when jokers unstable state threatens to break the timeline preventing the main events from happening. Goro awakens Robin and arsene.
HermitFaith AU: NG+ where Akechi and Ren remember, but they awaken memories as soon as the game starts, in the arcana swapped roles of Hermit for Akechi and Faith for Ren. They have to navigate the timeline supervising for the main events to ocur and reach the end of the timeline. Goro has a Palace that happens to look like the Engine room, lol
The Forge (Fantasy AU): Altoi crown prophecy, the cursed throne prince akechi decides he wont be doing and fated prophecy prince duty so he becomes a mage in the Norden lands. Joker is a blacksmith apprentice who is actually a pretty good mage himself, hes from Yongen the Fortress, mining town that legally belongs to Altair. Shido is waging war refusing to doom the kingdom because akechi doesnt want to die for the prophecy lol.(im using an old worldbuilding i really love but i never actually put to action). joker is some sort of ex mage from the velvet ring but his soul-bond died and to everyone in the ring you are supposed to have died with your soul-bond. so he isnt well seen in the Velvet Ring anymore. Lavenza Adopts him as blacksmith for custom catalysts. but like mages are pretencious , and full of shit and joker dislikes them
Steampunk/dieselpunk AU (Berserker cyborg Joker AU):
Lesbian SHUAKE aus:
Hockey Lesbians AU: they are angry lesbians playing hockey, originally by ned and swervey
The Night the world ended we- (Post-Apocaliptic AU): Mementos collapsed and they are left to beat yadly on a fistfight.

okay, so, as i mentioned before, i have a million plus arcana swap au ideas, and since i’m never going to actually write this one, why not post it into the void? (also, people will probably enjoy it since it’s shuake lmao)
so! this particular plot nugget is set in a new game plus arcana swap au... except the reset point isn’t yaldabaoth like most NG+ fics, but the maruki bad end (with some elements of the maruki failed deadline end tossed into it for maximum pain).
in the original timeline, akira cannot choose whether to stay in maruki’s reality or go. maruki’s choice makes him have a complete and utter mental breakdown, and, well, if you’ve seen the failed deadline ending for maruki’s palace, you know how this goes. maruki puts him into an enchanted sleep, erasing his presence from the world and dooming humanity in the process.
this sends akira’s spirit to the velvet room, and lavenza. is. pissed. if he’d chosen to stay in maruki’s reality, that’d be one thing, but by not choosing to act at all, he’s spit on his role as a wildcard (namely, that he should be taking responsibility for his actions and that the choices he makes should be his own). so, at great personal risk, she uses her powers to reset the timeline, in the hope that whoever’s chosen to be the new wildcard will find the strength that he lacked.
cut to the reset timeline. akira is walking home from school when he overhears shido assaulting that woman. he goes to investigate, but the second he does - blam. his memories from the original timeline return, slapping him in the face. once his shock has worn off, much to his horror, he realises shido and his victim have already driven away. no assault charge for you, akira.
by now, he’s absolutely freaking out, and after doing some frantic googling once he gets home, he realises things are very, very different. the detective prince doesn’t exist. people who were once dead are now alive, or vice versa.. also, for some fucking reason his name is now amamiya ren.
in a full-blown panic, akira runs away from home and goes straight to tokyo. none of his friends or confidants recognises him, and to make things worse, some clearly aren’t the people he once knew anyone. to make matter worse, others are just... gone. when he goes to yogen-jaya and realises there’s no leblanc, akira has a full-blown panic attack.
suddenly, his phone pings - it’s the metanav. perks of being a former wildcard, and all that. when akira visits mementos though, his spirit of rebellion doesn’t manifest, and the velvet room is just... gone (he’s not the wildcard anymore, after all). it’s then that he realises that losing all his bonds isn’t the only thing that’s happened - yaldabaoth is now back. akira is extremely, extremely, cognizant of how close he came to losing that battle. now, there’s a very, very real chance that the world is going to end, all because he couldn’t make a decision.
(fun fact: akira’s new arcana in this role swap is the hermit. this boy is having a very, very bad time.)
let’s move to akechi. in this new world, he’s not the justice. his mother survived her suicide attempt or never had one in the first place. money is tight, and he still gets a lot of shit due to his family situation, but his home is loving. sure, he’s not a saint by any means - akechi is still somewhat prickly and has elaborate and violent fantasies about getting revenge on shido, but ultimately he’s a normal teen. he’s the top of his class, a member of the student council, and is already getting scouted by universities. he might even have a stepfather he begrudgingly tolerates and little siblings he loves.
that all changes however when one night, he remembers the original timeline. normal teenager akechi - who’s never genuinely considered murdering someone in his life - suddenly has the memories of his past life as a traumatised assassin forcibly injected into his brain.
suffice to say, akechi absolutely freaks the fuck out. when he looks at his mother, he now sees her corpse. when he spends time with his family, he can’t help but think of the families he’s destroyed with his very own hands. whenever his underclassmen ask him for advice, he hesitates - given how monstrously he’s fucked up, what right does he have to guide anyone?
(whenever he smells the ocean breeze, he feels sick.)
still, despite having an extremely unique type of mental breakdown, akechi is a person of action. like akira, he has the metanav on his phone, and akechi wants answers. unlike akira, he’s still got enough defiance to manifest a persona, even if robin hood has only a fraction of the power it did before. during a trip to mementos, he encounters akira. he finds out his former rival has run away from home (it’s not like his parents would miss him, after all), and is currently funding himself via a ludicrous amount of part-time jobs.
reunited, they start planning. still, while there are remnants of their old rivalry, their dynamic has fundamentally changed. akira still possesses his inherent kindness and big heart, but he’s far more jaded than the old joker ever was, and the fire that once animated him had been snuffed out. meanwhile, this timeline’s akechi is the opposite - his basic personality is still intact, but he lacks the sharp edges the original akechi did. this akechi knows what it’s like to be loved, after all (not that he feels like he deserves to, given all the blood that he’s never technically spilt that’s staining his hands). these boys are a very different shade of fucked up, and it shows. anger has been replaced with despondency and rivalry with understanding. in every world, they’re two different sides of the same coin, after all - doomed to be the ones who understand each other the best.
back to the plot, while akira still has no persona, akechi can still fight, which means they can at least attempt to rig things in the phantom thieves’ favour. the second they try to go to the metaverse to interfere with shido/any PT target, however, the app glitches, stopping them from entering. their worst suspicions are confirmed when akechi first meets the new PTs and tries to warn them about yaldabaoth, but he finds that he suddenly can’t speak. they’re just pawns in this new game between gods, after all, and neither of them can break the rules. this is the inciting incident to the formation of akira’s palace, who believes he’s doomed to watch as his loved ones die.
akechi probably fills the high priestess role - he tries shoehorning his way into the phantom thieves and gets them all into trouble, or alternatively, gets caught up in some bad shit while attempting to investigate shido, and the PTs bail him out. who knows! this is sort of where the plot bunny ends - there’s a reason i’m never going to write it in full lmao. still, if you’ve gotten this far, i hope you enjoyed it!

Yknow, I am in LOVE with the new chapter ;-; AHHHHHHH I CANT ITS SO GOOD
And since this is all role swap, and I love that, but I also love time travel, and I am no writer, AT ALL, like I am so bad at it, but I wanted to share an au that's been living rent free in my mind.
Time travel into swap au.
Goes along the line of oh shit, Marukis reality is collapsing and Akira getting caught in the effect of reality changing.
And Akira wakes up 2- ish years in the past. But he is the Detective prince and Goro is the Shujin Protag. Imagine Akira just freaking out and having to somehow deal with seeing Goro get connected with all his friends that don't even know him.
Your wonderful art and writing have just elevated this thought in mind again ;-;
Thank you for all your hard work!
i've definitely heard the premise before!! i forget what the fic name is but the summary was like, "ng+, but whoever booted them back had very bad aim"; i never got to finish it but its certainly a neat idea. try writing it out! you never know it might be a hit :)

I think if I had a recognisable writing quirk, a signature of sorts, something that’s recognisably me each time I write... it’d probably be that I never shy away from the consequences of traumatic events, but I also don’t shy away from showing the characters healing.
One of the things I love so much about P5R is how the fandom really gets how the characters - not just the protagonist, but all of them! - have trauma. Palaces as a concept (when used with Akira and/or Akechi) are all about recognising said trauma, and healing from it.
Some of my fics go into this more than others - Cognitive Resonance has the core of the story being Akira pushing everyone away because he’s afraid of how they’ll see him at his lowest points, and having to heal in order to let anyone back in (even Akechi).
Harisen Recovery and “A Little Too Good To Not Be True” are both the idea of “what if Akira was suckered into the false reality, and kept having trouble being sure what’s real after breaking Maruki’s control.” Both of them deal with the aftermath of him not being able to tell anyone when he’s affected, and the courage it takes to talk about it, and especially the coping mechanisms he’d use to remind himself of what’s real.
In Pyrrhic Victories, Akechi has to live with the realisation that his victory was meaningless, and that he has all of the memories of hurting someone he grows to care for even more than he did before.
I have a NG+ role swap AU in the works where one of my favourite things for it is that the boys have a future, one where they’re able to be happy even if they are changed and they’re never going to get back who and what they were.
And talking of NG+ ideas... all this came up because I was reminded of this one idea I’ve never yet written (though given my current feelings, I may be going back to it).
Akira, having gone through an indeterminate amount of time either looping to the start or back to a prior safe room or just a single loop, just... he’s been living parts of the same year for a while now. But he’s already out, and Akechi comes to visit his hometown to tell him that he’s alive after Maruki, and at some point in their conversation the whole “Akira is a time traveller” thing comes out. He remembers things he shouldn’t. More than that, he’s deathly afraid that he’s going to reach a point where he does something wrong and wakes up a week or two in the past. Or he walks down a familiar street at night and he’s back on the night he first got arrested. Or he’ll wake up on the train to Shibuya, and he’ll have to do everything all over again.
And to be honest, as much as I love NG+ time travel stories, this is a big thing that I think gets left out of a lot of them. The sense of - when does it end? Can we be sure it does? Not knowing that a cycle has been broken is a specific kind of horror. There’s no future, because there’s only the past. Nothing you do makes a mark on history, because for you, the world ends and begins with the loop. You can never be sure that the world outside of it moves on without you. If it goes far enough that a person has children, does going back in time erase those children? Does it mean they’ll never be born, or that they’ll grow up into a totally different person?
For my own story, I liked the idea of Akechi being the point of view character, having this horror of realising what his rival had been going through without telling anyone up until now (or has he? was there a time when he tried, and it failed? or did it work, and he had to leave that behind?) and, in spite of not having wanted to get back into contact with the Thieves more than necessary, texts Futaba and tells her that they need to get Akira back to Tokyo, because all he has in his hometown is basically silence and Morgana, and Morgana isn’t enough.
(Sometimes, the hope that things will work out and that tomorrow will be tomorrow isn’t enough.)
So, Akira coming back and having everyone support him, remind him that he’s moving forward. Get him tools to help if he ever does get sent back, even if everyone hopes it never happens, because it’s like giving a kid a stick to fight off dragons with (and if the dragons are real - they have a stick to fight with).
Just... if someone’s had something traumatic happen to them, the break isn’t going to happen immediately. And it’ll be like earthquakes, with tremors and aftershocks. Like grief, it comes in waves.
This is one of the reasons I love hurt/comfort, because if I’m gonna traumatise my characters, then no way am I just going to leave them like that! It’s like impaling someone. If I leave them in the situation, it’s like leaving the object inside of them. If I take them out of the situation but I don’t give them the ability to heal from it, it’s like yanking it out and letting them bleed to death. But if I take them out of the situation, if I give them a support network, if I tell them it’s okay to hurt but to say when it’s hurting so that people can help... that’s basic first aid. That’s making sure they don’t die (or, just that they don’t fall into despair, time and time again, or break into something less.)
I see the term “kintsugi” used in terms of letting emotional scarring heal, and to be honest... this is the kind of thing that comes to mind.

*Knife* Talk about any OC, they are all cool.
[sets down Aurien Florence] You made the mistake of not specifying which means I get to infodump my #1 blorbo.
Since Aurien is my current favorite that means I have ended up with way too many AUs for them since I like testing how their storyline would be in different settings. Currently we've got: Cerdinen (canon, my writing setting), Golarion/WotR, Deadlands, World of Darkness, swap AU, and a couple of less serious ones.
Since I am reusing the same character I also divided their storyline into main themes/plot beats. Usually these are their disagreements with their twin, Orion, the fact that they were raised by a supernaturally strong being (in canon a goddess) in order to inherit her power and continue her legacy (which they don't agree with), the twins being meant to be embodiments of winter and death and how that translates to their personalities and choices, their being a DnD Eladrin-based elf revealing their emotions to all who know how to read their shifts, a yearning for acceptance and acknowledgement, Religious Issues, love without communication between the twins, whatever is going on with Vio, and accidentally adopting almost every child or teenager.
In Cerdinen, their storyline forces them to live for millennia as a wandering healer trying to restore the reputation of their twin so that they can finally reconcile, though through unnatural means, all while being hidden from the view of the gods save for the one who hid them.
In Deadlands... they're an ex-mormon doctor in 1800s alt-history America who battles their religious upbringing and tries to form their own beliefs without that influence. Orion is ready to shoot on sight.
In the swap AU, Orion is the one who breaks away from Mabhan's upbringing while Aurien embraces it. Which is arguably the scarier version of them because instead of Orion being LN and Aurien being CN their alignments are NG and NE, respectively.
In World of Darkness, the twins are from a revenant family in service to a Tzimisce. Orion gets Embraced while Aurien chooses to escape and they spend the same amount of time as the elf timelines resigned to killing Orion as a Hunter because there is no way to change a kindred back into a human. Meanwhile Orion is trying to Embrace Aurien, by force if necessary.
The one that is most applicable to my newer followers is the Golarion writing, which is mostly Wrath of the Righteous but also includes the two partial campaigns of Skulls & Shackles and Rise of the Runelords. The twins were raised by an Eldest, Mab, who was raising them to take on the trial of the Starstone with help from her power. The usual "Orion embraces the role while Aurien rejects it and runs to the south, where they raise and mentor Vio for a while" storyline happens, but the difference happens when they're faking it til they make it as a Cleric of Besmara in the Shackles. They get pressganged, have to be a pirate for a few months, and then the game got cancelled the ship is swallowed into a whirlpool and through handwave shenanigans and "how are we going to explain Aurien in the final session of Runelords after the Bard died," they got time traveled by the people of Leng working in Xin-Shalast and just kinda. Helped some weirdos kill a reawakened Runelord real quick, Resurrected the Bard, and then went on their way 5 years in the past. Weird time. ANYWAYS cut to the beginning of WotR, Aurien has moved to Kenabres masquerading as a Cleric of Erastil (trying and failing to get the god's attention again) when the plot starts! Their divine spark that got them noticed wasn't from the canon source, but is actually from Mab. They begin attracting the attention of the fey again, and Queen Galfrey putting them in charge of the Fifth Crusade isn't helping their goal of laying low and just being a healer. So Aurien gets to spend the rest of the plot and the ending of their story being forced from under their mask and having to deal with the unwanted inheritance from Mab, manifesting as a re-flavored and winter-themed Azata mythic path. Orion is nowhere to be found, probably sulking that their twin got all the cool god powers, and Vio is about to break something in the Stolen Lands and if no one's careful it might be Aurien in the future.
anyway YES I adore my dearest Aurien. I cut short the other AU descriptions so I could lay out the whole WotR nonsense I have for them. I am happy to elaborate on the other AUs.

The common routes (au’s)
Canon+ the regular events that happen in Akira’s canon, and any time after his canon in the future, akira is his usual aloof but noseily caring self here, still possessing the power of the Wild Card and the power to swap through his various persona/visit the velvet room to fuse or recall old masks
Ng+++: the Phantom Theif, akira is stuck in a time loop, endlessly repeating through the events of canon, he doesn’t understand why or how, but he is desperate to escape it, his rebellion will not stop here, he believes that the path out of this loop lays in achieving a “perfect” loop but he doesn’t know the path forward.
Broken Bonds: They failed, it was close, the phantom thieves fought ferociously but one by one they fell before That Thing calling itself God, until only akira was left, until only he stood in a doomed world, forcing his body, his soul to fight, in the end, he only wounded this “god” and had to flee ever deeper within mementos, the subconscious realm of humanity, until he found himself somewhere new (he fled the timeline, his powers are greatly weakened but he is learning on his own to fulfill the roles the velvet room held before)

okiiiiii you asked for itttt
i'm going to assume you have a basic level of fandom knowledge bc this is tumblr so-
it all started when someone decided to make a game called "undertale". there's a lot to unpack about this game but the only important part for this long essay was that there was a character named sans, okay?
now, the fandom of undertale, being a fandom, began to make AUs of this game. these AUs began to stick around more, until we eventually had an entire fandom dedicated to "outcode characters" which, instead of AUs of the entire cast, mostly revolved around sans.
here's where it gets fun: a few of the most popular AUs were sanses called Cross, a chaotic and mostly destructive (and m/rd/r//s but we don't talk about that) sans from "xtale"; Ink, a forgetful artist (also the protector of the AUs themselves) with no soul who used paints to feel feelings, who was mostly energetic (so the complete opposite of your ink); Error, a self-proclaimed "god of destruction" who's only goal in life is to k/ll everybody in the multiverse then itself; Blue, who actually came from a normal AU where all of the characters swapped personalities with each other (it's more complicated than that but it makes sense okay) who is an energetic royal sentry and aspiring royal guard-to-be; aaand Dream and Nightmare who came from an AU where they were made by some tree lady but then nightmare had a hard time growing up and decided to eat some negativity apples and become an evil octopus and dream has to try and stop him from making literally the entire multiverse negative without d//ng-
*deep breath after overly long explanation*
HOWEVER the thing about dreamswap is that these roles are, as you know, obviously reversed. the main switches are dream and nightmare, blue and error, and ink and cross however it's a lot more complex than that
basically the fandom surrounding dreamswap knows everything about your backstories, your inter-person-relationships, your life, and yeaaaaah so anyway this is probably gonna give y'all an existential crisis but there you go-
————————————————
h
So who’s gonna tell Dream we’re all fictional lmao

Reincarnation/time skip fanfiction ideas (Dororo).
The next one post in the 'dororo fanfiction ideas' series will be much shorter, then previous two and I got just a couple more short posts to have most basic concepts covered. Listing these ideas proved to be a great method to keep better grasp on them, so... bear with me, I need it. So, ideas:
characters need to finish the mission they couldn't in previous life. Be it defeating the rest of the demons or preventing new ones from awakening, finding each other as per promise, recollecting their missing memories, protecting the other, minor characters from the ghosts of past-life karma.
NG-life fashioned AU. A.k.a one of them has memories from the past life intact and is born among all the same people, who, at majority, have no idea about all this stuff. And while they maay look alike and have some similar traits compared to the past incarnations, a lot of things may change depending on individual character. Including: age, occupation, social/familial/relationships status, image, gender, dreams. Some of the characters also have memories intact, some develop recognition later on and some will remain clueless — seemingly per random, but actually for reasons. Is there any danger or is life calm and happy? And will either option to prevent some of characters drive themselves up the wall, trying to figure out the mysteries from the past.
Several incarnations during different eras (can lead to anything, from classical Asian legend to some wild cyberpunk space opera). And that's not limited to canonically existing versions.
Aaand just like this tumblr had the best half of the post eaten along with all formatting, so I had to re-type it.
My favourite idea to muse over is concept of Dororo's and Hyakkimaru's images and lore undergo drastic changes over the time, and nobody, but them, knowing the truth.
Let's go wild. For example, Dororo and Hyakkimaru could basically merge into one single legendary hero image, since teen/adult Dororo would have the same sword (he-he-he) and probably somewhat similar fighting style, or could use the pattern of Hyakkimaru's clothes as a part of personal crest, which become famous later on, or could travel with some kids and slay some demons too. Growing out the hair just like aniki? Would go! And so on.
Can you imagine them going to cinema to check out a movie about themselves and totally freak out about it (as in: "how in the world did it even come to this?!?!" and "they didn't get my nose right AGAIN", etc). All the more fun if you add Tahomaru in the mix.
Or some of them trying to recreate a right version of legend so people won't forget?
Or end up consulting for some book/movie/painting to be created and meeting the others thanks to that?
And yes, another personal favourite is Hyakkimaru, Tahomaru and Dororo seen as a trio. They would be a perfect unit... Also, definitely, Mio.
How about more crack in a fashion of: "reincarnation goes wrong, guess, I'm a cute animal now. Still gotta do stuff..."?
Or more serious ones:
Restrictions or gifts from the past life?
Roles/(dis)abilities swap (or memory loss/keeping) as a price for another one to be alive and well? Or was it some new curse?
Friends to rivals and back to friends dynamic?
***
The best thing about reincarnation AUs is the range. Reincarnation can go anywhere from "all the same, but modern" to "and who are all these people?.. WAIT." They can be born as exact copies of themselves from the past, or look and act very differently. Have different (normal, alive) families and different goals. It's just that most important parts are the same.
Phew, looks like I wrote it all back. And if I forgot something, I'll add more later on.

Would you ever write an AU with Alec as Jack Frost? 😋😋😘😘 (I ask this because I care and Ily.)
Friendship over.
Anonymous said: Would you ever write a bodyguard AU? Not the movie the concept, i’d actually would love a Yona of Dawn AU but it’s not a very well known anime 😭😭
I don’t know that anime either, sorry. But I guess it is a good idea for a drabble. Especially because I could see Raphael being an asshole and pointing out Magnus’ arms are bigger than his bodyguard’s. I find that hilarious.
Anonymous said: What about good father but also mobster/terrorist/corrupt politician/monster/literal demon Asmodeous and conflicted Magnus for the would you write ask?
Cool, interesting concept. I always have a hard time predicting the personality of upcoming characters. I think I’d have to wait until Asmodeus show up to see if that would work for me, but, a priori, I very much would write that.
Anonymous said: Seeing Troya mentioned in your blog made me think of my favourite character of the Illiada, Cassandra whose warnings no one believed and I still have a bit of residual salt from s1 and s2 so forgive me the weirdly specific ask but would you write an AU were Alec!Cassandra gets fed up with no one listening to him and befriends helenic!Magnus? Or anything about greek mithology, really.
lnlvan;vnerk;ng;krwgn;knw;gr I was one of those kids that were obsessed with Greek mythology. That’s a concept I’d love to write. I love the gender-role swap, by the way. And that you’re so salty about people not listening to Alec, you actually made him a prophet.
Anonymous said: Would you write an spies AU? Or a les Mis (well or revolution, maybe agaisnt asmodeous?) AU?
I’m traumatized in relation to Les Mis, but Spy!AU is so cool. I have a Kingsman!AU drabble but there is no such thing as too much Magnus and/or Alec in a tux, carrying a gun, and using codenames.
Anonymous said: What about a Dr strange AU?
... I fell asleep all three times I tried to watch this movie. I think it was the bright colors. But anyway, I don’t have nearly enough knowledge of the character to write this AU.
Anonymous said: Would you ever write shadowhunters in a the 100 au?
Although I love The 100 (the premiere was lit af), I wouldn’t know where to begin with this AU. I kind of the see the Shadowhunters as the Grounders because of the cult of violence, with Magnus & CO being Skaikru (magic = technology), plus maybe the Seelies as the Mountain Man? Maybe? I have to say Magnus as Wanheda and Alec as Heda sounds appealing. Very appealing indeed.
