Ajax returns home and enjoys caring for his family (and the woman he wants to add to it).

Ajax typically woke up early when he was home. As the house slept, he enjoyed making breakfast and having time to set the table and clean the dishes before his siblings trickled in one at a time, their sleepy eyes lighting up at the sight and smell of a hot meal. It was something he took great pride and joy in, there was truly nothing quite like nourishing your loved ones.

On days like these, Grace usually slept until he woke her for breakfast, and he had grown accustomed to hearing a steady purr beside him when he woke. Today was silent, and the bed next to him was cold.

That meant it was flurrying outside.

Grace had admitted that she had only seen snow a handful of times in Fontaine, and despite them having stayed in Snezhnaya for months now, she was still amazed by certain patterns of snowfall– particularly how the wind whipped the snow around, but the flakes still landed delicately onto her skin. At one point he caught her staring out the window holding a catalyst close, trying to recreate those small delicate bursts of frost.

He rolled out of bed and began finding some warm clothes, both for himself and for her. Despite her time in Snezhnaya, she still didn't dress warm enough when she went out. She hadn't learned to fear the danger of the cold building over time.

With an armful of scarves and blankets, he stepped out onto the porch, where he saw her sitting on the edge of the steps, just barely sheltered as the wind whipped stray snowflakes onto her cloak and skirt.

“So you are out here,” he gave her a coy smile.

She briefly turned around to acknowledge him with a slight smile before she was sucked back into watching the snowfall, as if she would miss something important if she so much as blinked too long.

He sat beside her and began sifting through his pile, wrapping scarves from her neck all the way up to her nose, which she sat and accepted without comment. He threw a blanket over the top of her head, because he still hadn’t figured a better way to keep her ears warm yet. He laid a thick blanket over her tail, which she twitched once in noncommittal protest. He huffed out a laugh.

He leaned close and took her bare hand in his. It was freezing to the touch, but she refused to wear gloves. She argued that cryo was her element, and it was no colder than using a catalyst. She didn't want to give up the feeling of snow crunching against her fingertips.

So he kept his hands bare, too, because that was the best way to warm hers up.

“The cold will sneak up on you,” he warned her, “You’ve gotta be careful, or you’ll get sick.”

She snorted and barked out a laugh through the scarf over her mouth. She peeled it down to her chin.

"You're the last person I want to hear that from," she rolled her eyes and huffed out another laugh, “It’s weird seeing you be the responsible one.”

It wasn't the first, or even hundredth time she had said it since they came to Snezhnaya. She pointed this out whenever he gently scolded a sibling for coming home too close to dark, or double checked the household rations in case the weather turned.

He was surprised she saw this as a new side of him. To him, these were the same feelings of protection and responsibility he had been showing her since they first traveled across Chenyu Vale.

Sure, he had had a personal reckless streak in Fontaine, but that was ultimately necessary.

Besides, it was different when it concerned those he loved rather than himself.

“Hey, I promised when we met, didn't I? Come with me and I’ll protect you,” he stood up, still holding her hand, “Now come inside,” he tugged her arm. There’s no telling how long she had been outside, but she was due to warm up.

“Just a little longer,” she leaned her cheek against his knuckles, her eyes still locked on the snowy landscape.

She was stubborn, but that wasn't news to him.

and I was like yeah it's definetly a rareship ngl but!!!! it actually makes a lot of sense and they have a -potential- great chemistry

let me elaborate (I love to talk about these two sorry)

okay let's start with the canon things!! ♥ as I said earlier I consider wriolotte a rareship so naturally we don't have a lot of in-game interactions between them (I'm still crying). we can find anyway some hints of Charlotte's genuine interest about Wriothesley on her voice-over + this Paimon's dialogue.

(she sounds so sad when the traveler can't tell her nothing personal about the Duke... I bet she talked about him with the traveler and Paimon more than once heheh--)

after Fontaine's archon quest, they finally meet in person!! tbh I love these adorable small dialogues........ Charlotte radiates joy and Wriothesley is so calm and gentle (ꈍᴗꈍ) ♡

he doesn't even sound upset when she insists a little. girl just wanted to be sure she will see Wriothesley again.

when she's done with her job, she says "till next time, everyone!"

aaaand this was the last time they were seen together. my personal headcanon is that Charlotte keeps visiting the Fortress of Meropide until she gets that interview with the Duke himself! I mean she already told him she's coming back for more stories, ehe.

in the Imaginarium Theater lounge area, both Wriothesley and Charlotte state they like books for children. Wriothesley says he likes how they are written and how good they are to unwind and chill while reading a book. Charlotte likes to investigate (obvs) about the books and their writers.

I really REALLY think Charlotte,,, kinda,, had a crush on Wriothesley long before meeting him irl Idk is just the way she talks about him in her voice-over ;; she's so cute

Wriothesley honestly enjoys spending time with Charlotte, he always invites her to a cup of tea during her visits to the fortress. that's how he gets to know she's not like other journalists, he even starts to admire her job

I know Charlotte is 100% professional but what if she uses that interview to figure out if Wrio is single or,,,,,, (ofc he's single)

I've been having a lot of genshin x twst brainrot lately so here we go, I'll try to draw them later but rn I don't have my tablet with me so please bear with the messy text block

((note that if we're speaking twst lore then technically ALL of them would be catalyst user (save for rook, silver, sebek and maybe vil since he did fencing but we're not gonna talk about them here) but we're going to ignore all of that and go with aesthetic/vibes))

starting from ace, I feel like he'd either use bow or polearm because as seen in the og alice in wonderland movie, all of the trump soldiers use some sort of lance(?), but I'm going with bow because I feel like it matches his vibes the most. rust would fit his overall visual especially with his dorm uniform (bc I am not about to teyvat-ivy their outfits I Am Not The Art Archon).

if we’re talking about kits/skill set, I picture him having an anemo vision (dead friend aside and purely by aesthetic bc we dont know much abt his past/um/I will not kill deuce) and being an off-field dmg dealer sort of like yelan and his skill being an enemy aggro that also do a mini swirl like mona’s/faruzan’s. so a sub dps maybe.

then we go to deuce, I want to say he’s a catalyst like heizou that punches his enemies like he got a personal grudge but listen to me : deuce with a claymore. deuce just. swinging that shit around and beating the mobs to death. I mean I can picture him being a catalyst that do normal, sort of calm attack until you make him do his charged attack and it’s a rage-filled uppercut sort of but. claymore deuce. deuce wielding song of broken pines.

now about the kit, I can’t see him with any other vision than hydro and I’m torn between him being an elemental dmg dealer with parry gimmick like beidou or just a full blown physical dps. while hydro isn’t a good element to do physical reaction, at the same time I also see him being able to deal some sort of decent physical dmg so I’m really conflicted about what his kit is going to be like. but I DO see that he’s going to be the type thats going to scale off of hp like zhongli or nilou.

next is trey, I see him as somewhere between sword or polearm, but then I decided on polearm because imagine trey with those baker hand swinging a polearm around. also he reminds me of thoma for some reason (househusband material, serving powerful/important figure??). Also he’d look good wielding skyward spine, no?

I cant decide on his vision but I can see him being dendro, mainly bc he’s green and also that the whole reaction with dendro kinda(?) fits his unique magic ig. Which means he’d probably be both a healer and em support/buffer. I think he’d have kits similar to shenhe and bennett where he increases dmg with his skill while he heals and buffs em/atk with his burst and doing small continuous dmg.

cater is kind of hard for me to picture in this setting. like ace I do think that bow fits his vibe, but so does polearm and sword. I literally cannot decide. I wanted him to be like childe where he wields one weapon and change stance during skill, but I already have different idea for his skill that would match his um better so. I ended up going with polearm after seeing mika with that crossbow

just like his weapon, I cannot decide on a vision for him. it’s either cryo or electro, based on his personality alone. he reminds me of fischl in a weird way. kit wise I think he’s going to summon his clone for his skill that function more as totems like yae’s that also do aggro (it is a bit funny imagining like 3 caters ganging up on a mob in game tho lmao). I think it wont do that much damage but it’ll be a consistent element applicator. as for his burst I really have no idea except maybe it’ll be like gorou where he’ll summon just 1 copy/totem that follows the character and also buffing/dealing damage alongside them(?)

now riddle, we can already tell that this boy is a full blown catalyst dps. I’m sure he can wield a sword/polearm just fine but catalyst just seems to fit his vibe the most. blackliff agate would look sick on him even if it’s not a 5 star weapon.

and yeah he’s definitely pyro. his kit would also be like yanfei and klee mainly bc I cannot think of a way to integrate his unique magic completely (zhongli’s burst is literally stunning the mob and his um is more close to taking the vision away from his enemy teyvat-wise). so he’d be a normal+charged atk focused dps. like yanfei he’d have this point(?) thingy(???) on his back everytime he do normal attack and if he do charge attack with them (max 4) he’d do big damage. I think his skill would have that pyro/elemental res effect while dealing damage and I think it would be cool if his burst is a one-shot pyro hit that deals lots of dmg like hu-tao’s while also giving him the maximum amount of point for charge attack. 

That is all for now, I think. might also do a hsr au with heartslabyul (please don't ask me why I keep throwing them into aus. I. Am not. A Heartslabyul fan I swear ((that's a lie)))

Let me explain to you why I am in genuine tears right now, because HE TOOK 140+ WISHES (lost the 50/50 to get Dehya to C1 and I like her more than most people, but I still don't have Tighnari) and I've run myself almost completely out of primos and wishes to do it, but this patch+next is absolutely brutal for what I wanted. - Neuvillette was a must-have, BUT WATER DRAGON HUSBAND FINALLY CAME HOME - Wriothesley is a 5* cryo catalyst user and that sounded really fun, like maybe pair him with Xinqiu and have a really fun freeze comp team??? - Venti rerun is coming and I HAVE ALL THE OTHER ARCHONS do you know how sad it makes me that I can put a team of them together and make them run around the world together and have Venti be SO ANNOYING about it?? I have been dreaming about getting Venti for like a year and a half now, but I'm not sure I can spare the wishes. Especially if they're running him and Wriothesley at the same time?? Do I prioritize completion or shiny new character?? At this point I don't need any better units for playing the game, this is entirely about who makes my fannish heart beat/who makes the game fun. - Furina is coming and I NEED HYDRO ARCHON, I MUST HAVE ALL THE ARCHONS, THEY'RE ALWAYS SO GOOD. So, you see my dilemma. I'm hoping to at least get Furina when she comes out, but do I save or splurge on trying to get Venti or Wriothesley? BUT AT LEAST WATER DRAGON IS HERE even if I have to go farm those stupid starfish now oh my godddd they're so hard to find and the underwater area tends to make me barfy and I STILL don't know how to defeat those red flower thingies uggghhh.

That being said, the upcoming banners are 90% useless too me. I have c6 every 4 star and have both 5 stars. I might go for Kazuha's weapon but like, I don't use him enough to justify that. I don't use him at all really. I prefer Venti for CC bc he has tighter CC and longer stunlock. I think the most I use Kazuha is...my Lyney team. Tbh. I don't even think I use him much there either. I have a C6 Layla and she buffs normal and charged attacks + applies cryo and shields. I only use Kazuha if Layla is taken for another team (which is a lot...Layla is the only shielder I use really since I don't have Zhongli yet. He's the only archon I have yet to get bc I got Raiden while pulling for Cheveruse.

Tbh, I'm glad the upcoming banners are worthless to me bc I have a guarantee for Arleccino (thank you Itto for breaking my win streak. I'll 100% get you next time.)

Also, the starters are in the Chronicled Wish banner and its a higher chance of getting them bc its a smaller 4 star pool. But the thing is, I want Amber. I fucking love Amber and if they dont give her a skin soon I will riot. But like I'm only getting Lisa. I have a c4 Lisa now. I love Lisa. She's so fucking pretty and she's my second strongest starter (Kaeya...isn't built. Amber's my strongest and my only starter to hit 50k as of rn.) But like-

My starter luck is good in the worst way. I got c1 amber forever ago, bought c2 from the shop after Neuvie's banner, got c2 Lisa from singles i got FROM ASCENDING LISA and took way too long to get a c1 Kaeya.

If they run arleccino with a wanderer rerun im going to simultaneously die and ascend because Im a wanderer main, but i want arleccino, but that will also mean theres a chance to get that damned bell at r2 while pulling for arleccino's weapon.

I have, 100%, called wanderer's bell Titty Remembrance bc i couldn't remember how to spell Tuttulyas whatever and I gave up.

My favorite no resin things to do with friends:

Bootleg windtrace: hide and seek but we have to chase each other and its fucking terrifying half the time

Randomizer: i spin a boss wheel i spin a character wheel. Assign characters and try to beat the boss with said characters. Reroll if the boss is immune only if the character is catalyst. Cue confused and terrified screaming for bosses that you don't know the mechanics of. It's more fun when using someone's world who has all bosses open. (Thats the only reason I soloed lvl 90 Raiden with a lvl 40 Dori and a lvl 60 Candace.)

So i just read your new chapter of MORAL INJURY and oh collei, she’s just a baby and i want to hug her (if she’s fine with it). I love your new chapter, it’s sweet to see the reader and Collei’s meeting and how just soft they are with her. Sure the situation is bad but im glad that Collei (and the other test subjects) see the reader as their solace in that hell of a lab.

For the reader hypothetical vision, i was thinking either electro, cryo, or anemo. They all fit them but my first choice would be anemo since anemo is Venti’s element and he’s the God of Freedom. The reader freed the test subjects and themself from Dottore, free from his inhumane experiments, free from his torture, free from the Fatui. And like the wind, the reader would be vagabond after that whole thing. Moving to place to place and disappear like the wind should the Fatui come close. It’s fitting for them but then i remembered the Wanderer also have anemo and you can ignore this but i have the idea of Collei, wanderer, and the reader be in a team figthing like that and it would be redundant having anemo and another anemo but unless the reader is a support which wait a minute that could work ok nvm ^_^

Also i like your idea on having the reader being a catalyst but that and also a small dagger, like kuki shinobu! Because in my head, they’re pretty good with a scapel since experiments and all right? While having a vision is helpful, i feel like they can just stab you at important part of your body and kill you just as easily.

But yeah, im really happy that you updated MORAL INJURY. And you should also put the fic in AO3, im sure the plot will get people’s attention! Hope you have a lovely day/night!

Teams: Wriothesley, Shenhe, Xiangling Bennett. Wriothesley, Shenhe, Kazuha, Bennett.

Talents: Normal Attack, Elemental Skill, Elemental Burst

rambly thoughts about the 4.1 banners under the cut. contains mentions of leaks

so it's confirmed that venti is getting his rerun in the 2nd half of 4.1 alongside wriothesley. guess i have more time to scrape a few primos off of sumeru. i already have 2k, which is a very unusual amount for me to have, so i'm feeling confident even though it's not even worth two 10-pulls.

i'm feeling a little fomo tho because wrio is cryo and he's a cryo catalyst and-

cryo characters are just bait for me at this point honestly. if it's a new cryo character then chances are i want to pull them. i'm still holding out hope for charlotte to be a cryo catalyst tho. i want her normals to have sucrose's range at the very least. kind of a shame that leaks indicate she's not gonna be a cryo yanfei but oh well. was too good to be true. as long as her normals have some range people who want to play her as a dps can with more ease. but if hoyo makes her a sword character i'm gonna be insanely disappointed. standard or not, i don't have plans to pull for wrio, so i'm really banking on charlotte so i can still have a cryo catalyst. am i gonna use her? let's be real, probably not. maybe in the future i can squeeze her into a mono cryo chongyun team. i just like cryo characters. i would've been sad if i didn't get freminet, even though i don't currently have any plans to use him either. (i still am sad that i don't have him yet on the alt.)

neuvillette having the underwater movement speed buff though.......... i know it makes sense. but how dare you hoyo. how dare you give that to a limited 5 star. i'm definitely speaking for myself here since technically lyney currently being the only character with the local specialties locator passive is objectively more egregious. and it's not like underwater fontaine is all that big. it's gonna get bigger i know, but i doubt even twice the current underwater square footage would make me desperate for a speed buff. all that said... i really, REALLY like diving in fontaine... so the fact that it's only neuvillette that has that passive... and i'm trying to save for venti who reruns immediately after his release... and i'm not even interested in his kit... let's just say i'm saltier than most seas. maybe i should pull for him on the alt JUST for his passive. i don't care about getting zhongli anymore; layla's good enough for me. and if my luck is bad and i don't get freminet on the alt, then that'll just bump the usefulness of his passive even higher.

also re: that one leak that said chongyun is rerunning with venti... i don't buy it one bit. while it would make me extremely happy if true (seriously those two alone would already make the banner tailor-made for me), i HIGHLY doubt they're rerunning chong so soon. he's in the range of 4 stars with the lowest demand, and he just got a rerun in the yae/yoi banner. more likely he's gonna be rerun around the same time next year. which is fair since he's already had a ton of reruns over the years. it pains me as a chongyun main obviously — having to wait literally a year for another chance to c6 him since my luck on the yae/yoi banner was so shit (sure i'm glad i at least got a copy of her, but i REALLY did not need all those kirara cons). but getting new 4 stars is good, and most players have c6'd him many times over at this point. besides, info from leakers seem to be rather unreliable lately, so yeah.

Liyue was still relatively untraveled, basic routes are only what she knows, not like Mondstat was. She had no memory of the country but the slow process of getting back to Inazuma, days spent only in the city and by the docks. Those memories are sour, so she often doesn't visit them and instead sees everything with a new slate to the best of her ability. Her lessons are already helping her out on her own, helping her notice the details of her surroundings much easier. It was because of these tips that she could pick upon signs of hilichurl activity. Amanda often stayed clear of the monster camps if she could. More often than not, a commission would likely pop up if it needed clearing out, and she could better prepare for the encounter.

What she didn't expect to encounter was a child wandering onto the path, with no sign of anyone around. He was a bit further up the path, she needed to call out to get his attention, "Hey, kid! What are you doing out here?" He was too small to be able to truly defend himself, at least when it came to monsters. They always went after little ones... just like one seemed to be doing now. Her gaze draws away from him and widens in surprise. In the next moment, her catalyst is summoned as she rushes towards him, "Get behind me!"

Caught in the nick of time, her Cryo companion leaps from the orb she wielded, latching onto the hilichurl and disrupting its attempt to attack. Amanda stops herself when she's between the unknown boy and his attacker, using the distraction to make sure he's safe.

Genshin Impact is, at the time, a game around 6 (soon to be 7) elements and 5 weapon types. After doing a quick math, we realize we can only get 30 (35) combinations of weapons and elements for us to play and, honestly, that number looks quite small compared to how big the game is. This realization is mitigated by a couple of factors: there are several playstyles to focus a character on like healing, shields, burst damage, consistent damage and crowd control; and the fact we can play up to 4 characters at the same time, making the possible combinations grow bigger than I can think of.

However, for someone like me that’s into weapons and elements combinations, the number 30 keeps coming back. I wanna see every single one these 30 imaginary guys in the game already, despite knowing some of the missing ones would break the game if made incorrectly (looking at you, cryo catalyst), or not having the right setting to exist. This waiting time and previous studies on visions and weapons is what made me think: “what background and (or) setting do we need for the missing combinations to appear?”

And so, let’s dive in a little series to find out one by one what’s missing and, possibly, make us wish for them.

The actual unseen Razor: A Hydro Spear character theory.

First, let’s remember that a spear user is someone that has connections to people, they want to make everybody understand and enjoy their ambitions as much as them. Spear users are not the kind to talk about them, but more about showing. In other words, they’re quite a social-driven class.

Second, the element of hydro is related to lineages, inherited duties, families, secrets, schemes, assistance, intelligence. Hydro users are rivers, followers of the path made for them, never going against its current; and, even if you’re careful, you may end up going their course.

Mixing these two get us someone that at surface level was born to help people, probably behind the scenes. A hydro spear reminds me of those secondary characters that some end up ignoring completely and some will never forget, and this is quite the challenging profile for a game that wants to keep selling and selling characters. Despite all of it, I’m sure there are some roles and personalities a hydro spear can have to make some of us want him.

The first one that comes to mind is the Teacher. Sumeru Academy is getting closer and closer and we’ve seen a lot of its students, why not get to know the academy from the point of view of their teachers? A Hydro spear teacher would be someone from a family that has generations instructing Sumeru students. Someone with great social skills and perfect lectures, too perfect even. I picture them having a permanently tired look, with all of his hard work done in secret but results talking by themselves.

Or what about a Butler? Gameplay-wise we’ve had dedicated supports like Gorou and Kujou Sara so it would be possible to have a character that’s always sticking to his master. Spears have a tendency to social services, so a person dedicated to serve another would work for the hydro one. Thoma parallels come to mind (despite Thoma not being a full dedicated butler), so the main difference between them should come from our hydro spear’s family, serving from generations. There are lots of important families in the Teyvat world, and more to know, so an exceptional butler would be easy to mix in the cast (not to mention we have a maid already).

Some hydro characters like Kokomi and Barbara have connections with religion and every region has at least one temple temple. A Rosaria parallel, that actually gets along with people and introduces us not only to the institution but the whole region, would make a nice simple hydro spear. Maybe too simple, so there should be some shady secret in their life to spice it up.

And last, but not least, I would enjoy having a Fontaine reporter as a hydro spear user. Carrying their kamera everywhere, he would have no secrets of them to protect, but would be great at finding what everyone else is hiding. Words would be their main weapon, honoring their duty of shedding light on the information.

The hydro spear would be swift, never getting into direct action but definitely helping, secretive as a comic relief or not, it would deepen their character to make them, at least, an interesting person to meet in our travels around Teyvat. This is the weapon-element combo I’m excited to see the most and I hope it gets released soon.
