okay so i just saw Secrets of Dumbledore and I am... emotional... I’ll put my spoiler thoughts (mainly about grindeldore... tbh ALL about grindeldore) under a cut if anyone cares but first I just want to say... wow... the heart of this movie really WAS a gay love story and... it was far more gay than I even expected. Jude and Mads carried this movie on their backs. They are perfect. Jude is my favorite iteration of Albus Dumbledore and Mads really brought out a humanity and also a strange... gentle cruelty in Gellert that I am absolutely in love with... more thoughts (SPOILERS) under the cut.
my thoughts might be all over the place, but I’ll try to keep it as organized as possible.
1) The Restaurant Scene - God. I knew it was the first scene but... what a way to start. I’d seen the scene in clips online already obviously, but somehow seeing it in the theater in full... it was even more... I don’t know if romantic is the word I would use, but you could FEEL how much Gellert and Albus loved each other and had missed each other over the last few decades. Jude and Mads’ chemistry feels like they’ve been working together since the very beginning of these movies. I BUY that they’re in love with each other.
I enjoyed how Gellert almost seemed to... beat around the bush over what they were to each other, almost as if he wasnt’ sure if he should say it out loud, especially around people (even if those people are lesser being muggles, of course), but Albus was just like “no. I was in love with you.” and finally then Gellert was just like “yes”. I also liked seeing both of them just... allow themselves that brief moment of basking in each other’s company for the first time in what probably feels like forever to them before they get down to why they’re actually meeting.
I really do get a sense of Gellert feeling betrayed by Albus through this movie (and I’ll speak more on that at the end as well). He loved Albus as well and Albus turned his back on their plans (and tries even to brush off how it was HE who originally said that it was their birthright to rule). Albus doesn’t quite put all the blame on Gellert, yet at the same time, he still wants to deny just how much he played a hand in it because he never went through with their plans--and yet, as Gellert points out, they were his plans.
2) Albus, Newt, Theseus - I really just want to say again how upfront Albus is about his feelings for Gellert. It makes me wonder if certain scenes were rewritten from the novels, if Albus would be less... ashamed of himself in the future. Maybe not though. I know Harry was important to him and he was afraid that Harry would think badly of him if he knew so maybe that’s where the difference is with Newt for instance? Newt is clearly important to Albus, but not quite to the level that Harry was. Ofc, Harry was also a child, whereas Newt is a full grown adult. But who knows.
And on a slightly related yet unrelated note, the line “You must trust me. Even if every instinct is telling you not to.” was so good. I loved it. Jude DELIVERED that line and it really made me go “wow... This is Albus Dumbledore” because... yes, Albus is a kind person, but he can also be manipulative. I know Albus has a lot of haters (i’ve never been one of them and never will be), because he IS so manipulative... but he is manipulative while having the *best intensions*. Also, his HUMOR. Like for the very first time, I felt Albus Dumbledore from the books. Not that they didn’t do a GREAT job as Albus in the HP movies (minus that DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE?! instance which absolutely was not the fault of the actor), but I never felt the same humor from the *writing* in the HP movies as Albus had in the novels. But I absolutely feel it here.
I do have one request tho. Can we PLEASE get Jude Law in some purple????
3) Albus and Aberforth (& the tale of the battle of 1899) - I’m sorry but seeing Albus and Aberforth together was one of my FAVORITE things from this movie. Like it was absolutely HILARIOUS seeing how different they are and how they interact and its basically exactly how I imagined it in my head. Albus trying to be nice (even when he’s kinda exasperated over Aberforth) and Aberforth’s passive aggressiveness (the talk about Ariana’s favorite dish. “she used to beg mother to make it” “yeah i lived in that house too. i KNOW what went on”.
And before I get to THAT specific line from the tale (you know the one if you saw it), I just wanna talk about the actual battle first. So does anyone else feel that they slightly changed it? Or maybe just Albus didn’t say the full thing? Cuz up till now it’s been Gellert started torturing Aberforth and Albus tried to defend him and Ariana “wanted to help” or something, but Albus said “Aberforth raised his wand which was foolish. I raised my wand which was even more foolish. And Gellert sat there laughing because he was the only one who knew that Ariana had come downstairs.” So from this it makes it sound like the killing blow to Ariana HAD to be either Albus or Aberforth. Albus didn’t even mention Gellert torturing Aberforth in this version of the story (and I kinda like the idea of Gellert literally just sitting there laughing his ass off as the brothers fought, but it also makes me wonder how the aftermath of that would turn out and how it’d end between Albus and Gellert). Also one more point about Aberforth... I much prefer Aurelius being teenage Aberforth’s love child than their brother. Like okay, I buy that (Albus and Aberforth were BOTH getting down that summer...), but does anyone else think that they literally retconned Aurelius being their brother just because novel fans threw a FIT over how much that’d fuck the original time line??? lmaooo I do. And finally that line - “We were going to leave together.” “We were going to leave together.” “WE WERE GOING TO LEAVE TOGETHER.” guys they were going to leave together.
Like they never said this before. Originally it was always Gellert was mad because he thought Aberforth and Ariana was “holding my brilliant brilliant brother back”. We were left with the feeling that Albus was somewhat bitter (even if he DID choose to take on the responsibility) that he’d have to stay home to care for his siblings, literally forcing Aberforth to return to school even though Aberforth offered to drop out to care for Ariana. This is the first time that we hear that Gellert actually managed to talk Albus into leaving with him.
Holy shit.
They were going to leave together.
Also I can’t quite remember which scene this was in but “the summer we fell in love”........................ the summer WE fell in love. WE FELL IN LOVE. THEY FELL IN LOVE! TOGETHER! WE! THE TWO OF THEM! TOGETHER! WITH EACH OTHER!
4) The Battle of Hearts - I almost don’t know where to start. This scene broke my heart. The moment the pact broke and the two of them started to battle... and we could see the pact slowly falling in the background. They were so desperate, yet at the same time, the battle felt so half-hearted. You could FEEL that they didn’t want to do this, even though they both moved at the same exact time. They got closer and closer until they grabbed hold of each other... the way their hearts beat as one. Their hands over each other’s chest--they could feel and hear each other’s hearts. The way they were staring at each other was just... SO HEART-BREAKING... like there is no other word for this scene. They both love each other. They love each other so much, but their sense of responsibility (both so different, two opposite sides of the spectrum) is too great to ignore. they are on opposing sides of the war. Albus wishes he didn’t have to fight Gellert, and Gellert wishes that Albus were still by his side.
The way they stare at each other as they grab one another, their hearts pounding, the spells from their wand fading as neither of them can bring themselves to casting the finishing blow. Either one of them could, but both clearly didn’t want to... and the way they let go of each other and turned away from one another at once was so... powerful. Like... my god. Anyone who doubts Gellert’s feelings like.... just absolute denial on their part. If Gellert didn’t love Albus as Albus loves him, he would’ve cast the final curse to take Albus down. He could’ve, because Albus couldn’t, and that’s the whole story--we know this. Albus couldn’t bring himself to face Gellert. He avoided it. And unless they screw with the timeline, Albus will continue to avoid it until 1945 and Gellert’s threat is too great. The blood trot was an excuse to avoid it; no longer does Albus have that excuse, but here... he had the perfect chance to defeat Gellert, just as Gellert had to defeat him, and he couldn’t take it.
Neither of them want to fight each other.
And then Gellert’s yell; “Who will love you now, Dumbledore?” and it’s such a pointed use of “Dumbledore”. I think Gellert knew that Albus would never be by his side again, but he could almost pretend otherwise. Using Albus’ surname here was Gellert trying to break their bond further. Their bond is already broken. The blood trot is on the ground, shattered into 2, but that trot was just a pact--in the end, it didn’t change their feelings. As I said, the trot was an excuse, now there isn’t one. They still can’t defeat each other, but Gellert tries to toss their broken bond in Albus’ face with the use of his surname. They once had each other. Now they don’t. Now Albus is alone as much as they both know he still loves Gellert.
“I was never your enemy. Not now. Not ever.” This is to the entire wizarding community... but i sorta take it as almost being mostly to Albus. What they had wanted was to be together. Gellert the moment he met Albus and fell in love with him, he wanted to rule by Albus’ *side*--and it was Albus’ idea after all. They weren’t enemies, but lovers now torn across the battlefield.
5) The Wedding - this isn’t really about the wedding but... Albus (and I once again applaud Jude Law here) had so many feelings coming from him in this scene. There was a happiness, of course, for Queenie and Jacob. But there was also a wistfulness and a sadness about him. Jude said so much in this scene without saying anything at all. I could feel that Albus was thinking of his one time lover, of the life that they had once dreamed of having together. Albus is a lover of love. We knew this through the harry potter books and now it’s even more prominent since the heart and soul of this movie was a love story between him and Gellert. He gave his entire heart and being to Gellert. Gellert is his soulmate in so many ways, and Albus knows this. And it makes me think of how Albus really is alone, right up until he dies. Of course, he has important people around him, but he never loves again. How can he love again when his heart still belongs to Gellert? I truly don’t think he ever even considers giving it away again. I think that’s for multiple reasons.
Obviously, because he still loves Gellert, but perhaps he even feels betrayed by his own love and heart. His heart had chosen someone... who had so much darkness within him and though Albus once thought of ruling “for the greater good” we know Albus and we know that he’d never want to go to the levels that Gellert does. It’s not in him, and he knows he shouldn’t, but his heart still loves Gellert. That’s not something that’ll ever just... go away. So perhaps Albus through his life thinks its almost better to not let himself love. He has people he cares for, but he always keeps them at a length, never letting them get too close.
No one ever really got to see the real Albus Dumbledore other than Gellert Grindelwald when you think about it.
And seeing Albus watch the festivities from outside, in the cold snow, happy and wistful and sad, but never letting himself join in... is just another heart-break on top of the heart-break from the battle.
We know how this story ends for the both of them and though the world might get their “happy ending”, the tragedy of it is that the hero of the story, Albus Dumbledore, never does get his... his happy ending, when you think about it, might not have ever existed at all.

Did you notice that Theseus seem to age in this movie? At the beginning, when he was on the train, he looked shining fresh and beautiful. By the time we get to the fight scene with Theseus and Lally Hicks, he looked worn out. He had dark circles under his eyes, he looked like a totally different person. It was like everything he believed in was gone.
I like the political part of this movie, because it is a perfect example of how Hitler took over Europe. People in Europe did not know how powerful Hitler was until it was too late to stop him. Hitler was literally waling into their front doors, by the time they realized what was happening.
Theseus represents these people who did not know what was going on, until he went to that German prison. I really think that Dumbledore real reason for sending them to Germany was so that Theseus could get his head out of the sand and see what is really going on. I think that was the real reason he sent them to Berlin. To try to wake Theseus up.
Theseus represents all the people who blindly follow their government and don't see the reality of the situation. That is why by the time they got to Bhutan; Theseus look like a completely different person. Everything he believed in was a fantasy, and reality of what is really going on had set in. The Ministery, Helmet who he thought was his friend, the wizarding government itself was a fantasy.
The only thing he had left was Newt and this group of people who were on this mission with him. That is why I think Theseus and Lally Hicks will end up together, because she is part of his new reality. For years Theseus loyalty was to the Ministery, that was a fantasy. Every though he still works at the Ministry, he doesn't see them the same way, he is not following orders blindly.
I agree with a lot of this. There are a few points I disagree with.
Theseus is never portrayed as someone who followed orders blindly. For example, in CoG Travers who was his superior did not trust Albus. But Albus asked Theseus to keep his men from engaging with Grindelwald's followers at the rally instead of trying to break it and Theseus followed Albus' advice because he saw the sense in it. Even when he tells Newt that he's being watched by the ministry, he's going against orders. But despite applying his own judgement, he trusts the system. He sees it may not be perfect, but he sees it as functional and he cannot imagine how deeply it can be corrupt.
He wants to know what is happening. He wants to have a picture of the plan and for it to be something he finds logical and approves. That’s why Albus had to partly open up as a gesture of good faith, to make Theseus place his trust in him even though it’s a gamble.
Theseus understood that individuals can be corrupted, but he hadn’t grasped that they are at the point of entire systems possibly falling apart, which is what he witnessed when he saw an entire ministry falling under Grindelwald’s sway and was captured by people he considers colleagues.I don’t think his loyalty in the ministry has changed. He is simply more aware of how radical things can get. Albus primary reason for wanting Theseus was probably that he and Newt are ride or die for each other, that he coulld convince him to join because of his loyalty to his brother, and that they needed someone with ministry rank for the gang to easily get accepted into the gathering at Germany to deliver the message. |I don’t  think it was just meant to be a harsh lesson, even though he was aware of pieces moving and that Theseus was in for a cold splash of reality.
I’m not certain Theseus will survive the war. IF he does, I can definitely see him with Lally. But I wonder if, while Albus is still procrstinating and not going to openly duel Gellert, Theseus ends up dead.

In debt
Albus Dumbledore doesn't usually pay a visit to the people that owe him; he sends someone else who normally threatens the family enough to make them pay in a couple of days.
He doesn't want to get his hands dirty; the Ministry of Magic knows he's a dark wizard, a criminal, but they have no evidence against him. They can't arrest him, they can't even accuse him of anything.
Albus shouldn't be in the Scamanders house that morning, but hasn't had a very productive week so he wants to try something new for once. He has a good feeling about it.
Even though he practically owns London, he decides to walk to the house, because he has manners and prefers to knock. Mr. Scamander knows better than to hide from him anyway.
"Pickett, please. I just said that this was a good tree to–"
Albus gets distracted by the soft voice, especially after realizing that it comes from a tree. A young man is sitting on a branch, talking (arguing actually) with a bowtruckle.
"Good morning," Albus says, mostly because he's curious about the man.
He wants to see him.
"Morning!" The man jumps down and the dark wizard feels like he's been hit on the chest.
***
Albus blinks, reminding himself how to breathe and feeling the corner of his lips quirking into a huge smile. The man is absolutely breathtaking; his red hair, his freckles and his green eyes are mesmerizing.
"I'm Albus Dumbledore. I have come to see Mr. Scamander. I'm... an old friend of his."
"Do you mean my brother Theseus? Or are you talking about my father?"
Luck is on his side this time, because the fact that the man is a Scamander and has no idea who he is gives Albus a brilliant idea.
"Your father."
"He's probably in the studio. Come with me... I'm Newt by the way."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Newt," Albus says sincerely, staring at the young man's profile as they both walk towards the house.
He's never seen someone so beautiful before; he starts wondering if the family purposely kept him hidden from him all this time or it's just because they didn't want him to know anything about the debt.
It's probably the later; Theseus Scamander seems to be the protective type, so it was probably his idea to keep his little brother from the family's business.
Newt invites him to sit on the couch and goes to the kitchen to make him a cup of tea as Theseus Scamander walks downstairs and almost has a heart attack.
While he glares at Dumbledore, Theseus tells his brother to go check on his creatures (and Albus finds really interesting that the man has more than one).
"I'll take care of everything, don't worry!" He insists, trying not to look nervous.
"Sorry, I have to feed my creatures, Mr. Dumbledore–"
"Call me Albus and don't worry about it, Newt," he says, kindly.
Once Newt is out of sight, Theseus narrows his eyes at the dark wizard and Mr. Scamander rushes out of the studio.
He pales as soon as he sees Albus.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Dumbledore... I promise I'll have your money–"
"Actually, I'm willing to forget about the money if you give me permission to court your youngest son, Mr. Scamander," Albus cuts him off, unconsciously looking at the stairs. He knows the redhead is probably in one of the bedrooms.
Theseus stares at him like he wants to murder him but the father looks absolutely relieved.
"Of course! Nothing would make me happier than for you to become part of this family!"
"You can't be serious!" Theseus growls at his father, but the man doesn't even blink in his direction. "Newt has no idea–"
"I'll talk to Newt tonight, Mr. Dumbledore..."
"No, I don't want him to know what I do. I just want your permission, I'll take care of the rest," Albus assures him, making a dismissive gesture. "I don't want to involve him in any of my business. He'll be protected, I assure you."
What he doesn't say (and doesn't want to admit) is that he doesn't want Newt to find out because Albus is almost sure the man would never love him if he knew.
And Albus wants his love; he wants him in every way possible.
"Father–"
"We have no choice, Theseus."
"I can get you the money, Dumbledore. If you leave my brother out of this."
Albus shakes his head, Theseus freezes, half afraid, half furious.
"I don't want the money, not anymore."
***
Albus pays them a visit again, although this time he doesn't spend too much time with Newt's father, instead he seems curious about Newt's job.
"I'm a magizoologist," he says, grinning from ear to ear; he doesn't usually find someone that interested in magical creatures.
They sit next to a tree and Newt starts talking about his babies; not only Albus seems to be paying attention but also asks Newt to introduce him to them.
"Where is your brother? I haven't seen him since I got here."
"He's in the Ministry," Newt says and has the strange feeling that Albus is actually happy about that. "He works too much."
It takes a few days of constantly getting inside the case for Newt's babies to start trusting Albus Dumbledore, but they do mostly because Newt seems really happy with him.
They become friends; Newt even goes to Albus's house and realizes that the man is even more rich than he thought at first.
When Newt meets Fawkes, Albus's phoenix, the magizoologist trusts the wizard even more.
"Hi!" He gets closer to the creature, who immediately likes the redhead since is one of the few people who know how to interact properly with a phoenix.
"I'm glad you two like each other," Albus comments, staring at Newt in a way the magizoologist is not used to.
Or maybe he hasn't noticed it before.
Albus gets closer and takes one of Newt's hands in his, he kisses the back of it, prompting Newt's cheeks to turn bright red.
"I'm in love with you, Newt," Albus tells him, in his blue eyes there's no doubt. "I want to spend my life with you. However, I know this could be too much for you right now. That's why I just want you to give me a chance. Allow me to court you."
Newt blinks, surprised. Then, he realizes that he really likes Albus and could see himself falling in love with him.
His creatures like him too.
"Alright," he mumbles, nervous. Although the sensation vanishes the moment Albus leans closer to press their lips together; the kiss makes Newt shiver but in a good way.
"I'll take care of you," Albus promises.
When Newt tells his family, his father seems really happy and Theseus looks like he's having an aneurysm. His father assures him that his brother is just being dramatic.
But Newt feels a little bit worried about him.

PLEASE share your fantastic beasts 2 opinions
alright I’m not gonna turn this into a full fledged dissection of the story or anything because I’m tired and also don’t want to care about the movie that much, so I’m just gonna list stuff off the top of my head I remember bugging me when I saw it yesterday. obviously, spoilers:
so like we established the American Wizards™ have a congress with a president and everything but literally the very first thing we see on screen is the words ‘American Ministry of Magic’ please just remember what you named things
the whole opening scene with Grindlewald escaping literally. did not need to be That Long. surely if he was powerful enough he could’ve just…killed everyone at once and bounced like
I know it looked cool at first but it really just ended up dragging on
‘how do we make him look even more evil’ ‘ooh…let’s make him kill the lizard’
the title, “Crimes of Grindlewald”, made me think oooh, we’re gonna get a backstory here, we’re gonna find out what he’s been doing that makes him the most-wanted wizard in Europe!!! but no
he literally barely even COMMITTED crimes in the movie asdfgh like a few murders but nothing that would imply he was Worse Than Voldemort…literally the most he did was give a speech which the aurors themselves said wasn’t illegal
Nagini was. worse than I expected
like did she even talk??? I’m screaming
Eddie Redmayne was phoning it the fuck in acting wise and honestly mood
like. my love has an Oscar. we know what it looks like when he’s trying. he really just read his lines and got his paycheck lmao I can’t blame him
actually speaking on that, Jude Law and Alison Sudol were the only ones who seemed to care lmao
did Tina do anything the whole movie??? no
Credence had like maybe three lines despite being the center of the plot
we didn’t need the parasite in the eye scene
why was Nicholas Flammel…………Like That
GOD that character that was half-house elf. like, first of all. Blatant Starkid plagiarism. they could make a case for copyright infringement,
but ANYWAY I HATE THAT SO MUCH BECAUSE!!! NOW THAT I KNOW PEOPLE FUCK HOUSE ELVES!!!! ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT IS HOW IN GOF  BARTY CROUCH’S ELF WINKY WAS SO DEVESTATED AFTER HE FIRED HER THAT SHE BECAME AN ALCOHOLIC!!!
JK Rowling wrote that character in there, made the concept canon in this movie, as a means of leaning over to me and whispering in my ear, “Barty Crouch was an Elf-Fucker, Barty Crouch and Winky the Elf were fucking” AND I HATE THAT FOR US!!!
why did they have to make every single thing about Leta be cryptic like…calm down
why did we have to make Queenie a rapist, kidnapper and a fascist??? like. like. I just feel as though we could have…..not? done that? like there could have been other routes taken? just saying
why was every other sentence spoken reminding you that they were in Paris
were Leta and Credence on the Titanic??? wtf
out of every hp character they could have referenced with a relative….McLaggen??????????
I thought Dumbledore was the transfiguration teacher??? why was he DADA???
McGonagall being a grown woman and a professor at least 10 years before she was born…..imagine being that powerful
why did all the aurors move in a fucking pack like….am I supposed to assume there’s absolutely no other crime happening other than Grindlewald?? not a single thing people might need the police for??? nope all of them just had to roll up to Hogwarts to stare at Dumbledore and pose like they were in fashion catalogue
so how did we get from ‘Dumbledore won’t move against Grindlewald because he’s still in love with him but he eventually realized he needed to put the good of the world before his personal feelings, a character point that plays a major role in Harry’s story, and took him down and imprisoned him’ to ‘Dumbledore is 100% pro taking down and possibly killing Grindlewald and he wishes he could do it himself but because of a blood pact he physically cannot do anything and has to send spies to do the work for him’ like. how did we make that jump. just curious
the really went and implied Grindlewald could’ve stopped Hiroshima and the Holocaust. that….was a lot
also, actually, you know what? can JKR just….stop trying to tackle Hot Button Issues™ already because she’s really fucking bad at it???
I remember in the first movie there was that scene where Newt and Tina were given the death penalty, and the way it played like. it was CLEARLY supposed to be a statement on the American justice system she wasn’t even trying but uh!!! hey Joanne!!!! you already established that in Britain the wizards have their souls sucked out of their bodies!!!! so you kinda fell flat!!!
and then in THIS ONE it was all, the aurors are trigger-happy, they’ll torture you, You Cannot Trust The Wizard Cops and yeah! that could’ve been an interesting route to explore! especially given the current political climate about the police which obviously inspired that plot point! BUT UH. THE BAD GUY WAS THE ONE TELLING YOU THE COPS WERE BAD???
so even though we were *showed* the aurors doing these Bad Things uh!!! you aren’t supposed to agree with the evil fascist dude!!!! and Theseus and Leta and Tina were all portrayed as good guys even though they were among the group!!!! Hmmmm!!!!!!
um. some good things? The scene where Newt disguised himself as Theseus and then immediately ran into Theseus was the funniest fucking thing ever. Tina still being able to do her job and work with Newt while she was upset instead of being played as the Jealous Scorned Ex Who Won’t Cooperate was good. Pickett and the Niffler were still cute. the magic fight scenes were visually stunning. that’s all.
why the FUCK DID THEY KILL LETA
Zoe Karvitz is a solid person to have in your franchise!!!! she barely even had a coherent plot line!!! what happened there!!!
they could’ve done more with Theseus
the timeline for Credence to be a Dumbledore LITERALLY IN NO WAY works out with the already established timeline honestly what the fuck. that was the dumbest thing ever
probably gonna be some fucking twist like Grindlewald fucked Arianna or Albus’ mom or something and he’s Credence’s father. just wait. I literally wouldn’t put that past this franchise.
uhhh…that’s all I got for now. if you like bad movies, I definitely recommend!! :)

FBCOG SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Sooo I just watched FBCOG and I have so fucking many thoughts and shit so here we go
(Be aware that this post is gonna be kinda long. Oops)
NEWT IS SO FUCKING PRECIOUS I LOVE HIM
Queenie gave Jacob a love potion wtf Queenie?? (Also wow Tessa's prediction was correct)
In general just Quennie and Jacob... I am tbh not even sure if I want them to end up together anymore... I feel like their relationship wouldn't be completely healthy
But that might have to do with me wanting Queenie to be a lesbian
Everything is so freaking well done!!
Everyone is so talented ugh!
The creatures huuu *dies of cuteness*
Baby Newt being so much like grown up Newt. Like even their voices! When he first spoke I honestly thought that it was Eddie speaking.
Newt’s commentary on Tina’s feet
Everything Jacob says is wonderful and he never fails to make me laugh
EZRA MILLER.
EXCUSE ME MCGONAGALL DID NOT TEACH AT HOGWARTS DURING THE 20s !!!
I love that they threw in names that were familiar from the HP books like "McLaggen" and "Travers"*
I hate that Grindelwald is so fucking convincing. I honestly think that I would've joined him if I was there and did not know everything we now know he would do
Noo baby Credence don't fucking trust him T^T
Queenie too? NOOO goddamnit!!!
Leta saying I love you to Newt right before sacrificing herself and Theseus thinking she said it to him
Leta never stopped loving Newt
The Scamander brothers hugging aaahhh
The moment when Tina finds out that Newt isn't the one who's engaged to Leta
Salamanders
That wandless relashio
NEWT IS SUCH A TALENTED WIZARD
Nicolas Flamel. More please.
The whole Lestrange family history
Leta's boggart *cries*
Okay but now on to the things that really fucked us all up:
Firstly, I have realised that I am okay with the whole Nagini-used-to-be-a-human-thing, if Voldemort's pet-horcrux-snake isn't actually the Nagini who used to be a human and got turned into a snake because of the maledictus curse and Voldemort just decided to name his pet-horcrux-snake after the maledictus Nagini. _And, even _if that's not the case (if Voldemort's snake actually is the maledictus Nagini), I find that I kind of can accept it, because...
AURELIUS DUMBLEDORE
*sighs deeply*
When Grindelwald first said this I honestly was so mad. Like, what the fuck J.K? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK??
I was almost prepared to just stand up and walk right out of the theatre, but I didn't, and here's what my mind came up with/scenarios in which I think I can accept this:
The theory I first came up with that I would probably accept pretty easily, and that I actually wish was able to be true, is that Credence/Aurelius is actually Ariana, but I know that that is definitely not the case... It would kind of fit though, since we all pretty much know that Ariana was an obscurus (not sure if JKR has announced this as canon yet, but we all pretty much qualify is as canon... Right?). Other than the obscurus thing I know it doesn't really fit since she's supposed to be dead and stuff but still. It would be cool.
Otherwise I cannot under any circumstances accept that Credence is the child of Kendra and Percival, because if that was the case, Albus and Aberforth would definitely know about it and it should have been mentioned in the HP books. Therefore, I believe that Credence is supposed to be the child of Percival and some woman yet to be known. When this happened though, I reallh don't know and I definitely have to do more research on the Dumbledore family... But anyway this is the scenario that I think is most probable, and I actually think I might be able to accept it, as long as Credence's birth date and shit works with everything.
Now, if this is the case, then Albus would definitely find out in the upcoming movies, and then it should have been mentioned in the HP books. But, Albus was very secretive and didn’t actually share any of his family’s history and stuff with Harry himself. Everything Harry found out about Albus’ family was from “The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore” by Rita Skeeter, or from Aberforth. I don’t think that Albus would tell Aberforth about Aurelius (I actually think that Albus would try to cover it up and make sure as few people as possible knew about it), and I don’t think Aberforth would find out by himself either, which means that there is no logical reason for Aurelius to be mentioned in the HP books.
What I am actually hoping for though, is that Credence is not at all Aurelius Dumbledore. That that is just something Grindelwald made up to make Credence trust him, buuut sadly this is most likely not true. I just like the idea of Credence’s real identity not being revealed until the very last film, just as Tina and Newt won’t kiss until the last film (cause we all know JKR loves her slowburn romances)
The fact that Credence actually is a Dumbledore is kind of proved by the phoenix (whom I believe to be Fawkes), which apparently seeks out male Dumbledores (? not sure if I remember that correctly, please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong :) ) This could of course also be staged by Grindelwald, but let’s be real. We know that is not the case.
Okay. Phew. I think that’s all, complete with my theories on Aurelius Dumbledore. Wow this post really became wayyyy longer than I first thought...
Anyway, feel free to reblog with (or without) your own additions of thoughts of the new Fantastic Beasts film! Just remember to tag spoilers or fantastic beasts spoilers or fbcog spoilers or all of them, so that no one gets their experience of watching the film ruined :)

🙈what’s my muse’s biggest blind spot?🍰what’s my muse’s guilty pleasure?😰when my muse is stressed, how do they act out?💚what does my muse get envious over? - Theseus and gellert
Theseus:
His biggest blind spot is likely those he cares about. While he may tell Newt what he is supposed to do, one would never convince him that Newt was doing anything wrong either. Same with Leta. Lestrange or not, he loves her and cannot even think that she might lean towards the dark side.
Guilty pleasure is probably coffee. He’ll drink tea as well, but he loves having a cup of coffee. Especially when does alone with a silencing charm, just a little bit of peace in his busy days.
Theseus tends to get louder, his voice sharper and whether there is actually any intent to attack or not, he’ll normally end up with a hand on his wand.
Sometimes he feels jealous of Newt’s freedom, but he’s really not one for jealousy most of the time. If he wants something, he’ll go for it, so jealousy isn’t something he’s terribly good at.
Gellert:
He doesn’t have much of a blind spot very often. Though, because of their bloodpromise, he doesn’t always equate that Albus has influenced anyone into coming after him.
While he isn’t one to have guilt over much, he does have his secret in regards to letters. He doesn’t send hand written letters but once in a great while, though he does write one near weekly. It’s just after he writes the letters to the one person who ever understood him, he burns them and scatters the ash. No one is allowed to see his innermost thoughts after all.
His voice gets sharper, his eyes narrow, he’s more demanding than charming. He will issue orders rather than make suggestions. Stress makes him more likely to be physically aggressive as well.
He envies Albus’ ability to gain people’s trust so easily. He envies those who are well loved.

nrh!! the boys buy slave!newt bc he’s so lovely, but newt is very untrusting, shy and insecure :( maybe past abuse? but the boys give him lots of kisses and cuddles and tell him how pretty he is!!🥺
Maybe they all bought him to free him, but Newt doesn't know that and he's nervous and stressed all the time because he thinks they're gonna return him to that horrible place and he's just overworking himself to the point of exhaustion...
It's probably Albus the first to notice so he tells Gellert and suddenly the two of them are hugging him and kissing him but Newt's sobbing so Percival and Theseus find them like that and they assure him that they love him and he's not there to be their slave.
It takes a while, but Newt starts trusting them and finding himself really happy around them.

The opportunity
Even though Newt knows his brother would give him anything he wanted; he doesn't like asking for money. Working as a veterinarian is great, he loves it, but the money he makes goes mostly to his bills and his two dogs and his cat.
It's difficult to save money, some months he is left with nothing to save and others he has to use the little extra he has in the bank for food or to repair something in the house.
Despite everything though, Newt hasn't given up on his dream of building his own shelter.
One day, while he's worried about a couch he'll have to replace soon, his friend Jacob decides to give him some advice.
"You should go to my girlfriend, Queenie. She has a bar and needs someone to do a performance... One of the dancers is injured I think. It'll be just a couple of nights."
"What kind of performance?"
Instead of telling him, Jacob manages to convince Newt to take him to the bar. It's early in the morning, so the place is not open yet.
The redhead blushes to the tip of his ears as soon as he sees the pole.
"I don't think–"
"Jacob told me you were a ballet dancer and practiced gymnastics," Queenie cuts him off, eyes roaming all over Newt's body with professional interest. "You have very nice thighs."
"It was a while ago," Newt mumbles. "Besides, I don't know anything about pole dancing..."
"I'll show you," she insists, taking him by the arm. "Please, sweetie... Just a couple of nights..."
Finally, Newt agrees to try and follows every single one of Queenie's instructions and movements. Thanks to the years he spent practicing gymnastics, he doesn't find that difficult to get suspended in the air for a couple of seconds, using only his thighs wrapped around the pole.
"You're a natural, sweetie," Queenie looks pleased.
And then Newt realizes that he absolutely loves it. However, he's still very shy... He doesn't think a couple of days of trying it would help him much...
But then Queenie tells him how much he could make just for a few nights...
"Alright, I'll be there this Friday," he mumbles, already thinking it's a bad idea.
He really needs that couch though.
***
The outfit is beautiful, but Newt is not sure he looks so good in it, he's never worn something that tight before or that revealing, especially in front of a group of people.
"Just have fun, sweetie," Queenie hugs him. "Forget the people... And you look gorgeous by the way."
The other dancers are truly nice with him; they notice his nervousness and help him feel better by assuring him everything is going to be fine.
Newt hears the music first, the music Queenie picked for him to dance to.
He takes a deep breath, ignores the hungry eyes over him and the compliments he hears about his outfit, his hips and legs and starts dancing around...
With his thighs and hands carefully wrapped around the pole he climbs up and when he finally takes his hands away he feels free. Like he's floating with the music...
He slides down at the end of the song and the people are cheering and trying to get close and some of them are throwing money at him.
"You were made for this," Queenie tells him when he finally goes back to the back room.
"I don't think so," he says.
But Newt quickly becomes one of the most popular dacers there and when Queenie offers him a job he immediately accepts.
He's going to build his shelter soon if he keeps like that.
***
Sometimes he doesn't believe when Queenie tells him the bar has become one of the most popular ones because of him, even though his performances are constantly followed by enthusiastic wolf whistles and people screaming at Newt they'd like to marry him or take him to their home that night over the sound of the music.
No, he usually just focuses on the things he has been able to buy for his dogs and his cat; he's also unbelievable happy because his savings keep growing and he thinks he'll be able to start paying rent for the place he has chosen for his animal shelter.
He still needs equipment, food, and probably a few people to help him keep the place in good condition, but at least it's a very nice way of getting started.
Besides, dancing has become one of his favorite things to do. He can almost forget he's really shy when he's up there, spinning around the pole.
That night is no different from the others; he's excited even though he knows there are many people out there, waiting for him and the other dancers.
He's in the back room, looking a pair of stockings and lovely panties he just put on for his new performance when one of the dancers, a woman with very long and brown hair walks towards Queenie.
"They're here," by the look on her face, those people must be really terrifying or something else is going on.
"A-Are you–but they have never... Alright, it's okay," she adds the last thing to the other dancers, who have started to look nervous. "It'll be fine, just keep working... Pretend nothing has happened. I'll deal with them."
"Queenie... Are you okay? What is it?" But Newt's friend is already gone and doesn't get to hear his answer.
The woman with the long hair takes pity on him and decides to give him some information.
"The Dumbledores," she mumbles. "They own the whole city. Crime lords... they are. Dangerous. Although they've never been here. I have no idea what they want."
"We should go with Queenie then," Newt says immediately, looking at the door. "What if she needs us? She could be–"
"She'll be fine, Newt. Trust me. Besides, you can help her more if you focus on your performance. I think you're next, right?"
"Yes," the redhead nods, but he's not so sure he could focus on dancing now that he's worried about Queenie.
***
As soon as the performance ends and Newt slides down the pole as dozens of dollars fall to his feet, he starts glancing nervously around to see if he can recognize Queenie among the crowd.
There's no need. Queenie is rushing right towards him, although there are two men in front that just keep staring at Newt in a way that makes him blush.
The people around move away from the two of them... And Newt knows, even though he's never seen them before that they are the Dumbledores.
"You were absolutely fantastic," says one, right after he introduces himself as Aberforth. He is quite handsome.
They both are.
"I'm Albus," the other grins as he offers a hand to Newt. "Would you please get down, baby?"
He doesn't want Queenie to get into any kind of trouble, so he nods at him and takes his hand, allowing Albus to help him.
Aberforth takes Newt's other hand to kiss it.
They convince him to sit with them and have a drink, although Newt just agrees to a lemonade; he's still not sure why they want him there but he doesn't question it.
For some reason, they start asking Newt questions about his life; he doesn't want to give them too much information but he mentions how much he likes animals.
"Do you know who we are? What we do?" Albus mumbles after a while, putting a hand over Newt's. His eyes are so very gentle.
"I–I have an idea," he says nervously, not sure what to do.
"That'll save us a lot of time then," Aberforth whispers, leaning forward, grin quirking up the corners of his lips. "Newt, we want you."
"To do what?" He blurts out immediately, wondering what he'll have to do for them.
Albus chuckles and strokes Newt's soft cheek before looking at him in the eye.
"We want you to be ours," he says and then adds in a whisper. "In every way possible."
Newt's blush spreads downwards and since the outfit he's wearing doesn't hide too much of his skin, both men follow the blush with their eyes.
"We'll give you anything you want," Aberforth assures. "Anything."
Does he really have a choice? The anguish on Queenie's face tells him there's nothing he can do about it.
"Will you protect my friends?"
"All of them," Albus assures. "And your family."
Theseus must never know about this. But he'll also need protection.
"I-I want an animal shelter," he dares to ask, trying not to shiver.
"Consider it done, love," Aberforth smiles, touching Newt's shoulder.
The weirdest thing is... Newt really feels attracted to both of them.
"You'll dance only for us from now on," Albus says, pressing his lips against Newt's neck.
He's in so much trouble.

Just a month ago it was just his brother Theseus looking at him from the other side of the glass, usually pacing around nervously with his gun in hand. The only reason he got a job in the place Newt is currently working is because he's scared something may happen to his little brother.
Newt has already told him many times that the dinosaurs are not dangerous and they all trust him, but it seems nothing works, because Theseus is constantly having a heart attack.
The only reason he's not there with Newt while he attends Blue and the other raptors is because Albus, the doctor in charge of the lab, tells him he could make the dinosaurs nervous with his presence.
But now there's another security guard, who's a soldier, just like his brother. It's been just a week since he introduced himself to Newt as Percival Graves and he's turned out even worse than his brother.
He keeps following Newt around whenever he can, sometimes he even glares at Gellert, who's the owner of the whole park no less, because the man with mismatched eyes asks him to have dinner with him and Albus quite often. However, Newt is always too busy for that.
Newt looks back at Blue, throws her a piece of meat, and giggles when the raptor gets closer, waiting for Newt to stroke her muzzle before running away.
He doesn't need to look behind him to see what Percy and Theseus are doing at the other side, they both are probably having an aneurysm at the moment.
When he walks back in the building, he doesn't flinch when his brother jumps at him and pulls him in his arms.
He's not even surprised.
"You're hurting him, Scamander!" Percival protests which gets him a snarl in response. Honestly, Newt doesn't know why they can't get along.
"Shut up, Graves!" His brother glares at him, before turning to face Newt and a soft grin. "Are you okay, little one?"
"Are you hurt?" Asks Percival at the same time, touching Newt's cheek gently.
"No, why would I be?" Newt rolls his eyes as he detaches himself from his brother. He pretends he doesn't see the way Theseus pouts.
"You were absolutely amazing, Newt," Albus says then, smiling and blushing when the redhead smiles back. "You know... Gellert has told me–"
The metal door slides open and the man himself walks into the control room with a huge grin on his face; somehow he always seems to know where Newt is at all times.
"You look so beautiful, Liebling," the man mumbles and it seems it's Newt's turn to blush. Percival gets a step closer to the redhead, glaring at Gellert, even though he's basically his boss. "I do believe you are free now, right?"
"Well... yes, but I–"
"Would you finally have dinner with us? Albus is getting impatient." Gellert comments and the poor doctor turns completely red at that.
"I–"
"My brother needs to rest," Theseus protests, but Gellert seems to ignore him completely.
"Come on, darling. You can't keep saying no..."
"We should have dinner... I mean the five of us," Newt proposes and the four men don't seem to be really pleased with that idea. "You're all my friends, after all."
"Friends..." Percival repeats like he's just been slapped across the face. "Newt, I–"
"Well, I guess this is better than nothing," Gellert cuts him off, still staring at Newt. "Tonight. At eight. Albus and I will come for you... And your friends."
"This is going to be a disaster," his brother whispers and honestly Newt doesn't see why.
It's just dinner.

Part II of the mafia nrh au.
You can read the introduction here.
And part I here.
***
The problem is that Newt likes all of them, so they all hesitate when it comes to hurting the others; it'd break Newt's heart. So they all kind of tolerate each other.
Albus and Gellert start helping Newt with his shelter and both Theseus and Percival have to admit they've never seen him happier.
But still... neither of them are particularly inclined to share Newt with the others. Although at the moment the biggest problem they have is to let Newt know they all want to court him.
Unfortunately, nothing of what they tried so far has worked. Newt still doesn't know every time Albus and Gellert ask him out to dinner it's because they want to have a date with him.
He has no idea Percival brings him flowers because he's trying to woo him or the reason why Theseus is constantly taking him in his arms it's because he's also silently asking for a kiss on the lips and not just a hug.
He doesn't notice, but everyone else around them does and suddenly the fact that a man with reddish hair and innocent smile has four crime lords wrapped around his little finger, it's just too good not to talk about.
Rumors spread quickly about his beauty, some of them think he just has an unnatural ability to entrall men, but knows exactly what he wants. Others say it's impossible he knows what the four really do and he's just as innocent as he looks.
They begin to call him the Sweetheart.
The only problem is that their enemies also find out about him...
***
He convinces them to go visit his friends in America and even though they still don't like each other they agree to go together for Newt.
"These are my friends," their beautiful man says excitedly. "Tina, Queenie and Jacob."
And because they have no lucky at all, turns out that Tina Goldstein is a cop. Although she seems to trust Newt too much to think that his new friends and his brother could be crime lords.
Newt has no idea either and it has to stay that way.
They stay in a hotel. The few days they're there, Newt wakes up early in the morning to help Jacob in his bakery; but Albus and Gellert are the ones with the most experience of them all, so they send Vinda to follow him just in case.
It's actually thanks to her that nobody takes Newt that day.
***
Vinda hides in plain sight as a charming customer and asks for a coffee and a couple of croissants while she keeps an eye on Newt.
He's beautiful, although there's something more about him; there's a kindness in his green eyes and the soft tone of his voice that's probably the reason why her bosses are acting like besotted idiots.
It's dangerous; Grindelwald is right about having someone keeping an eye on him, because he's just the perfect tool to use to control four of the most dangerous men in the world.
Perhaps that's why Vinda suspects of the people that walk into the bakery just a couple of minutes after her.
She doesn't like the way they look at the Sweetheart, following all of his movements while looking around at the people inside.
They're waiting.
Vinda writes a quick text on her phone to her bosses and gets her hand inside her bag, where she keeps one of her guns.
Then she recognizes the woman with the curly hair and knows it can't be a coincidence that one of Dumbledore and Grindelwald's enemies are in that particular bakery.
With a kind, relaxed smile on her face she walks towards the counter and asks Newt for a hot chocolate, because she knows it'll make him go to the kitchen.
"I'm so sorry! I forgot to ask the other man for a panini too!" She giggles at the owner of the bakery.
"Don't worry! I'll make it for you. I'll be right back!" The other says and disappears behind the door quickly.
The rest happens just so quickly; she sees Dumbledore out of the corner of her eye and she knows there has to be more with him. The old lady and her son get out of the bakery because one of the people in the group starts harassing the man so bad, they decide to walk away.
She takes the opportunity to grab a chair a put it under the door knob that leads towards the kitchen to keep Newt and his friend inside.
The men notice as well as the woman with them, but it's too late; Graves hits the first two while Scamander and Grindelwald take care of the rest.
Dumbledore runs to check on the back door of the bakery and locks it too.
"We can't kill them here," he tells the others when he's back. Then he looks back at Vinda and asks: "Are you sure they came for Newt?"
"Absolutely."
"Let's get rid of them then," Grindelwald growls; Vinda has never seen him so pissed before.
Newt and Jacob realize they have been locked inside the kitchen and probably they have heard some of the noises from the fight.
They have to ignore them.
The place is a mess by the time the trucks arrive, fortunately there's just a few people on the streets, but they're too busy to be suspicious of the men getting huge plastic bags inside the trucks.
"Make it look like a robbery," Grindelwald tells his men. "Be quick, the cops are probably on their way. Rosier, you come with us."
***
Newt is not scared when the police comes, he's just worried about what his friend lost. Theseus arrives as soon as he calls him, followed by Percival.
Albus and Gellert get to the bakery a couple of minutes later and promise Newt they will help his friend.
"Thank you, you're so sweet," he mumbles, beaming at them.
They get back to Queenie and Tina's flat and the only problem they find is that the young cop is not that sure about the robbery.
She doesn't explain why, but it's obvious to Gellert that they all need to watch her closely.
They have a reunion that night; they make sure Newt is completely asleep inside his room before start talking.
"If we want Newt safe, we all need to protect him," Albus says and to his relief, both Theseus and Percival seem to agree with him.
So they decide they'll definitely gonna share Newt; they'll take care of him, make sure he remains clueless to the crimes they've committed and they all are going to court him at the same time.
Their Sweetheart is going to be so happy and all theirs.

Hello! I absolutely love all your writing 😍 I was wondering if you could write something about Dumbledore setting up Newt and Percival (Newt’s the Care of Magical Creatures professor and Percival’s staying in Hogwarts for some reason) because he can see that they really really like each other??? With lots of platonic!scamandore fluff and gramander being adorably flustered around each other? Thank you!!!
“Newt? This gentleman says he wants to talk to you about poachers. MACUSA believes a group from America has come to England,” Albus says as the magizoologist walks in his office. So that’s the reason Albus sent his patronus all the way to the Forbidden Forest.
Newt sits next to the auror and tries not to look flustered when he realizes it’s Percival Graves, Theseus’s best friend. He’s as handsome as Newt remembers.
“Newt! I mean… Mr. Scamander, it’s a pleasure to see you again,” Graves mumbles, blushing to the tip of his ears. Albus is still sitting at the other side of his desk, quirking up a curious brow at both of them.
“I’ve told you, you can call me Newt,” the magizoologist smiles.
“Then please call me Percival,” the auror insists. And then clears his throat and adds: “It’s been a while. I didn’t know you worked here.”
“I do, I’m the Care of Magical Creatures professor,” Newt’s cheeks turn pink as Percival smiles fondly at him.
“You must be a great teacher.”
“Oh, not at–”
“He’s the best,” Albus cuts Newt off, making him blush even more. Which prompts Percival to frown at professor Dumbledore. “He’s also a great friend, Mr. Graves.”
“So… you wanted to tell me something about poachers?”
Flustered, Percival nods and looks back at Newt.
“Yes… that’s the reason I came here,” he mumbles and starts explaining quickly to him about his investigation. He believes the group wants to start “business” in England. “I just wanted to ask if you have seen anything unusual lately?”
“I haven’t actually, but it’s been a month since I returned from my last trip and I’ve been in the school most of the time since then so I’m not sure…” Newt bites his lip, concerned and notices that Percival looks away suddenly.
“Perhaps you two should go to Hogsmeade to ask around?” Albus suggests, grinning. “And since it’s lunch time you should probably look for a nice place to eat…”
Newt narrows his eyes at his friend in confusion and Albus just winks at him, which only confuses him even more.
“It’s a great idea!” Percival jumps from his seat and walks towards Newt with a more confident smile that makes the magizoologist’s heart bump like crazy inside his chest. “Would you come with me, Newt?”
“Of course.”
***
There are still no signs of activity in Hogsmeade, not according to the people that live there. Percival does a couple of revealing spells to see if someone has been there that matches the description he’s been given and Newt confirms there has been no a single creature around, besides the ones he takes care of.
At the end they go to a cafeteria to have lunch and Percival decides to stop talking about the case and asks about Newt’s life instead. He seems interested in magical creatures and has been fighting to change the law in America to protect them.
“And when you decided to fight for them?” Newt asks, curious.
“After your brother introduced us,” Percival mumbles, looking a little bit shy out of the sudden.
Newt doesn’t understand why because that’s the sweetest thing he has ever heard.
Without even thinking, he leans to kiss the auror’s cheek who stares back at Newt in awe.
“Can I come here again… to see you? And maybe have lunch or dinner with you?”
Not trusting his own voice, Newt nods, blushing.
***
“How was your date, Newt?” Albus asks, without even looking away from the book he’s reading.
“It wasn't–”
“It was and you know it.”
Newt’s face looks like it’s on fire, making Albus chuckle.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know I love your fan fiction, especially the ones about Newt's Reverse Harem. I love the series Love is not a victory March and am wondering how Graves' first meeting with Albus will go.
@victorianfantasy
Continuation of the Love is not a victory march series.
You can read the complete series here.
***
The Ministry of Magic believes in Albus Dumbledore. For the past few weeks he has had meetings with Newt to tell him everything the Ministry knows about his boys, which is not much and it’s useless because Albus is constantly confusing them.
It’s perfect and Tina has the feeling Albus is making all that effort just to see Newt smile and sometimes get a kiss on the cheek in return.
He has been clever enough to avoid Graves every single time, although Theseus always makes things a little bit difficult for him anyway. Theseus is constantly next to Newt, taking his hand or nuzzling the back of his head, while Newt runs his fingers through his hair.
Although that doesn’t often happen when the Director is around, like in that moment. Newt is kissing Graves on the lips, probably to calm him down a little bit before Albus arrives. And Theseus is just pacing around Tina’s living room (because of course they chose her and Queenie’s apartment for that meeting) sometimes looking at his brother in Graves’s arms with a bit of pain in his eyes.
She has always thought there’s something really bittersweet about the way Theseus behaves around his brother, although that’s certainly not the time to think about it.
Queenie is making tea and coffee when Albus arrives and despite of Graves’s clear reluctance, Newt greets the man with a hug as soon as he walks in the living room. Although this time it’s not enough for the man, because he takes Newt’s hand and kisses it.
Neither Graves nor Theseus like that.
Then Albus’s eyes meet Graves’s and they both spend a couple of minutes just staring at each other, Graves keeps glaring at him and even though Albus doesn’t look happy with him, he doesn’t glare back.
Finally, Newt gets in the middle of them both and Albus has again that full, sincere smile on his face.
“The Ministry won’t be a problem for you for a while,” he says and Newt grins back at him and Tina can tell Albus was waiting for a smile like that since he arrived. Newt kisses his cheek while Theseus frowns and Graves puts a possessive hand on the magizoologist’s waist.
“Well… now you can go,” Graves almost growls and Albus quirks up a brow at him.
“Percy, please. Albus is just trying to help,” Newt mumbles, pressing his lips against Graves’s and Tina can see the moment he gives in.
“We all just want the same, Mr. Graves,” Albus says then and both Theseus and her boss look at him for a moment, like they’re communicating only with their eyes.
The Director is about to argue when Newt takes Albus’s hand and intertwines their fingers together and sits him next to him on the couch.
Graves sits at the other side, taking a deep breath, because he knows what that means; he has to accept Albus in their group, like he eventually did with Grindelwald.
They all have to accept him.
Because Newt has just given him his trust.

I've noticed in like every fic where two people are fighting over Newt, that eventually Newt is all like "If you guys don't stop I'll take my case and leave and you'll never see me again!" Now, I've only ever seen it where the two people immediately start fighting and look at him like he's about to disappear, but what if they didn't? What if they don't stop fighting because they don't believe Newt would actually leave (1/2)
Tumblr media
The four men stop cold after Newt apparates away; they even forget about the thing they were so passionately discussing about seconds ago.
Albus pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. He looks at every single one of the wizards with him; it's fascinating how Newt's absence can change things. He wouldn't dare to say that the love they all feel for that magizoologist is... healthy or normal, but they all are damaged people and they love him in their own twisted way.
"What should we do now?" He says, because it's clear that something must be done and quickly.
"We chase after him!" Theseus almost snarls, but he's stopped by Graves.
"We have no idea where he is." The American auror points out.
"Probably with the Goldsteins."
"Newt is really pissed right now so I don't think he'd go to a place where he knows we can find him," Albus tells the older Scamander, Graves seems to agree with him and Gellert... He's getting desperate, which means he's already planning something.
"We have to make him come to us," he sits on the couch, mismatched eyes looking at the fireplace. "And once he's with us, I'll bind him to the ground. Newton cannot leave us again."
It should be concerning how quickly the four men agree to the idea, but honestly Albus is so scared not to see Newt again to worry about morality.
"Graves and Scamander are gonna use their contacts in both the Ministry and MACUSA to get us a creature, but you have to make it look like it's in danger. And Theseus, make it sure it doesn't look suspicious!"
"I like how you think, Albus," Gellert purrs, making the other to roll his eyes at him.
"Then, when he gets to the creature, Gellert will bind him, but it'll only be temporary," Albus says and purposely continues talking over the dark lord's protests. "Enough for me to talk to him. Because if you want this to work, you will let me do the talking."
***
"Hello, baby girl!" Newt beams at the little wampus in front of him; it took him a whole bottle of sleeping potion to get to the basement of the house without a fight. He picks the creature up and it surprises Newt that the wampus is willing to go with him, she seems to trust him already... But why?
He starts looking for wounds or signs of abuse, but doesn't find any... which is even more weird.
After a loud 'crack' four symbols appear around Newt's feet and he instinctively pulls the creature closer to his chest. He starts thinking something went wrong with the potion until he sees those mismatched eyes that are now so familiar to him.
"I've missed you, my love."
One of the symbols on the floor shines as Gellert steps closer to him. Newt rolls his eyes, he has always been so dramatic.
"Listen, Ge–"
Another symbol lights up and suddenly Theseus is there with him and then Percival and... Albus.
Newt can't apparate or move, not too much anyway.
It was a trap.
The truth is that Newt has missed them as well, which makes him feel not as angry as he should be.
"You can't keep me here."
"Actually, my love–"
"We won't, Newt, I promise," Albus cuts Gellert off. "We just want you to listen. That's all."
Newt sighs, almost losing his neutral expression when he sees Theseus worried frown.
"Fine."
Of course Albus is the one that is gonna talk; Newt almost smiles at that. Although it's surprising that the others agreed to it.
"I know you don't like seeing us fight, Newt. We can promise you we'll try not to do that again, but the truth is we can't assure you it won't happen. We're just broken people after all, Newt," Albus smiles sadly, blue eyes glued to his. Newt lips part to talk, but the wizard doesn't give him the opportunity. "But have you thought about how it'd be without you? How our own wounds would end up consuming us? How we would tear each other apart eventually? Gellert and I would be the leaders of two different groups. Two sides. Opposites."
Newt closes his eyes, shakes his head to shove away those terrible images off his mind. He reminds himself that Albus is talking and he has never been a powerful wizard because of his magic, but because of his words.
"We need you, Newt. We love you," the magizoologist opens his eyes again to look at Albus, at all of them, knowing already he's going to give in. "And you know that."
"Just promise you'll try not to fight again."
They do; Newt's freed soon after that and as soon as he gets the wampus inside the case, he feels Gellert's arms around his shoulders, nuzzling the back of his neck. Out of the four of his boys, he's always been the touch starved one.
Albus takes his hand to kiss it, while Theseus and Percival press their lips to Newt's cheeks, making him giggle.
He had missed that.

Note
could you write something fluffy/smutty for scamandore?
It’s just fluff and a little bit of angst, but I hope you like it anyway, anon!
***
Albus freezes for a second in the middle of the hallway, he almost drops the many documents his students have left for him. Luckily, he manages to control himself just in time; it’s weird, he doesn’t remember the last time a face provoked such a reaction from him. Because he’s seen beautiful men before, he’s felt attracted to a few, but nothing like… that.
Green eyes staring at him, green eyes sparkling with soft kindness, surrounded by creamy skin and freckles and reddish curls that beg for fingers to run through them.
The man is smiling, beaming at him as he gets closer and Albus feels his face growing hot; it’s been years since the last time he blushed like that.
“Professor Dumbledore!” He says and finally something in Albus’ head clicks.
“Newt Scamander?” Albus stares, hoping the other doesn’t notice his eyes roaming down his body. There are many words that come to his mind, most of them embarrassing, fortunately none of them escape from his lips: “You look… different.”
“Well, it’s been fifteen years.”
Right. So Newt must’ve thirty now and Albus feels oddly happy about that simple fact, but he blames the surprise and shock the meeting has caused him for that reaction.
“What are you doing here?”
Newt frowns in confusion and he says, a little bit shy: “You sent me a letter saying one of the thestrals was sick?”
It’s like his head is not property functioning today.
“Sorry, I must’ve forgotten… I’ll take you there.”
“Thank you, professor.”
It’s ridiculous how much it displeases him Newt saying that particular word; it’s normal even for ex-students to keep calling him professor and yet it bothers him when he hears it from Newt.
“Please, call me Albus.”
He sighs relieved when Newt nods and quickly leads him towards the dark forest; professor Kettleburn must be already there and technically Albus could leave Newt with him, but he feels it’s necessary for him to stay while Newt takes care of the creature.
A grin from ear to ear appears on Silvanus Kettleburn’s face when Albus introduces them both. They like each other instantly, especially because professor Kettleburn starts to praise Newt’s book and begins to talk about dragons.
Albus quickly learned that one of the most useful qualities in a human being was politeness; everyone always praises him for his impeccable manners and patience…
And yet he gets irritated when he notices he’s been completely ignored. He tries not to think to much about, but he ends up interrupting the conversation.
“Newt?” Although he says it softly, not showing any of his emotions.
The magizoologist blinks while Kettleburn looks back at Albus, brow quirking up with curious amusement.
“Could take me to the thestrals?” He says to the professor and the man nods, shooting Albus one last interrogative look before doing as he’s told.
Newt narrows his eyes worriedly at the creature, resting on the ground the moment he sees it; he listens patiently to Kettleburn’s description of her condition and starts approaching the other three first.
He’s patient and kind with every single one of them, probably trying to win their trust before approaching the sick one.
Albus looks fascinated as Newt begins to talk to them.
“Hello, girl,” he kneels in front of the thestral on the ground. Fingers caressing her muzzle tenderly as he looks into her eyes and her mouth; he then puts his ear on her belly and rises again, only with a more confident, hopeful smile on his face. “It’s okay, just a cold.”
Albus stares as he reaches his coat pocket for a potion and puts a few drops on the thestral’s teeth until she licks them clean.
“He’s great, isn’t he?” Albus blurts out next to Kettleburn. The professor looks amused at him, but at least Newt is too far away to listen.
Kettleburn nods.
“He has a spectacular ass too, right Albus?”
“I wasn’t looking at his ass!” He blushes for the second time in the day, trying to ignore his own heart pumping into his chest.
“I didn’t say you were,” he winks at him.
“She’ll be fine within a week,” Newt happily announces, walking towards them.
“Well… You must be hungry, Newt. So why don’t we go the dinning hall and grab something to eat?” Albus says suddenly. He has no idea what’s happening to him that day.
The magizoologist agrees although he waits for professor Kettleburn to join them.
“Oh, no, I’m fine. I’ll stay with the thestrals for awhile,” Kettleburn says, he looks from Albus to Newt and then adds with a mischievous smile: “Besides, I’m not the one starving here, Albus is. I bet he’s thirsty too.”
It’s the first time in a long time Albus has the impulse to hex a co-worker. He manages to hold himself back though.
***
Newt doesn’t go back to Hogwarts, but Albus keeps writing to him and fire-calling him because he’s obviously interested in what his ex-student is doing, or that’s what he tells himself at least.
But it’s not enough; he daydreams and thinks about Newt more than a friend should do, he hopes to get another excuse/reason for him to go back and asks Kettleburn constantly how the creatures are doing, ignoring the knowing looks the professor shoots at him.
Then, after waking up from a nightmare that involved Newt getting seriously injured, Albus decides to face the truth and wanders around the castle until he finds a mirror.
Not a mirror, the mirror.
He steps in front of it, eyes closed, knowing very well what’s going to see once he opens them; knowing that the reflection has changed.
Albus takes a deep breath and blinks his eyes open only to find another staring at him, green, warm eyes and a smile that makes him grin in return.
Newt beams at him in the mirror of Erised and reaches out and Albus, even with all his years of experience and knowledge, he moves closer, only to touch cold glass.
Albus falls to his knees, buring his face in his hands, telling himself he doesn’t deserve that man. That he can stay away, he can push those feelings aside.
***
Newt’s so glad when he receives Albus letter; it’s been months since he hasn’t heard of him and he has hesitant to ask him for those books about phoenixes, because he has thought Albus didn’t want to see him anymore.
It’s been painful and Theseus was practically fuming when Newt told him what happened; he even insisted that Newt stayed with him for awhile.
“Look, ‘Seus! Albus says he’s going to bring the books in person because he wants to talk to me,” he beams, not noticing Theseus worried frown.
“Are you sure you want to see him?”
“Of course, why wouldn’t I?”
Theseus shakes his head and kisses him on the cheek before making Newt promise he’d let him talk to Albus first.
And he does, although Newt misses most of the conversation because he was busy feeding his creatures. When he comes back though, he sees Theseus and Albus facing each other through the doorway; his brother hasn’t even let him in.
Their mother would be so upset.
“Fine!” Theseus snarls. “But if you break his heart again–”
“In that case I would gladly let you curse me if you want,” Albus says calmly, to Newt’s utter bewilderment.
“Albus?”
Finally, Theseus steps aside, takes Newt in his arms and whispers in his ear: “I’ll be in the kitchen if you need me.”
“Thank you, Mr. Scamander,” Albus says, but Theseus just glares at him before walking away.
“Sorry, Albus, sometimes my brother is a little bit of overprotective…”
“He’s right to be angry,” he says, looking at the couch. “Can we… sit?”
Still confused, Newt nods and follows Albus to the couch; the other wizard sits close enough so their thighs are touching and the magizoologist can’t help but blush.
“I need to apologise for not… writing you for the past months, Newt. I’m really sorry, I… I was trying to distance myself from you because I–I really care about you. Does that make sense?”
“Not really.”
Albus chuckles and Newt’s glad that sad expression on his face has disappeared. He takes Newt’s hand, intertwines their fingers together and kisses the back of it.
“Newt, I saw you in the mirror of Erised.”
He has heard about it, his classmates used to talk a lot about it when he was in Hogwarts, but Newt never cared too much about the castle and its mysteries, he cared more about what was in the dark forest.
“I don’t know what that means.”
Albus doesn’t look irritated about his ignorance, he leans closer to him, amused.
“It means you’ll be stuck with me if you allow me to court you.”
“Yes,” he blurts out, heart happily pumping in his chest. But then, as the previous conversation sinks in, Newt narrows his eyes again. “But why did you try to push me away then.”
Albus sighs as if he was in pain and brings their foreheads together.
“Because I don’t deserve you.”
“Now that’s ridiculous.”
“Newt, the things I’ve done, the man I was before I–”
Newt presses his lips to his before he can say anything else and Albus doesn’t hesitate to kiss back.
“So you’re going to court me?” He says over the other’s lips, enjoying how Albus’ eyes turn a little bit darker at the contact.
“Yes, but are you sure–”
Good thing Newt has learned how to effectively shut Albus’ up.
