Imagine the news you want to hear!
This is my new project and I am having so much fun. So what is Imagine the News? Imagining the News we want to hear has a number of benefits, in addition to being entertaining through silly spoofs. Focusing on what we WANT - whether it be personal or global goals - is really important. First, it has the immediate result of raising our vibration in the here and now, i.e. uplifting our mood, i.e. staying sane during the Trump Administration. This benefits you and everyone you come into contact with. Important caveat: this is assuming that when you focus on what you want, your mind doesn't immediately think of its current lack of existence - if it does go there, a mindfulness practice can help you stay focused on the positive. Second, focusing on what we WANT directs energy and resources towards the desired outcome - whether in the form of emotional, physical or financial investment, and therefore increases the likelihood we will make this want/goal/desire/vision real. I'm a firm believer that when you really set your mind to something with such intense focus, and your actions follow consistently and continuously, you will make it happen. Where there's a will there's a way. Thinking about the opposite can help drive this point home. When you are thinking about what you DON'T want, it's a mathematically certainty that you are not thinking about what you want. Less mental energy is there to focus on the desires/goals, and therefore you are less likely to take actions towards your goals. It is also essential that we believe what we want is possible, achievable, doable! Naturally we are much more likely to action on something we believe is possible for us to accomplish, than if we don't. If you want to write a book, but don't think you can, how likely are you to take the steps to sit down and write it? This is a familiar concept, perhaps stated in a different way, but we've heard it time and again since kindergarten. It is so important to believe in yourself and your abilities because when you do, you can move mountains. And this is where Imagine the News plays a special role, because delivering the vision in a way that sounds like official news that's already happened, helps training the brain to believe it's possible...and therefore we are more likely to try. Metaphysical mumbo jumbo aside, the intention of Imagine the News is, in addition to making you laugh, it to shift the attitude of "that could never happen" to "hmmm...I could see that as possibility" to "Yeah, that's totally doable! 1984 and Brave New World aren't the only outcomes for planet earth!" Just think back to a year or so ag0 when Bernie was running for president. Suddenly it's totally possible for someone who truly cares about the children, to become the leader of the free world. We've read many books that have foreshadowed dire events we see transpiring now and what we need is more books/writing foreshadowing the things we DO WANT, for the reasons described above.
