THE ENDLESS WORDS streaming out of your algebra teacher’s mouth bored you to death. you groaned internally as your heavy eyelids slowly closed, making it impossible to grasp any of the information that entered your ears.

just as the last bits of your consciousness were about to disintegrate, the door cracked open, piquing your curiosity and causing you to look up.

in stepped a tall male, visibly varnished with confidence and a certain tartness that glinted within his irises; his hair was partially bleached and he wore a black hoodie that swallowed the upper half of his body.

“you’re a bit late.” the teacher turned to him, and you couldn’t help but scoff at that understatement, he wasn’t a ‘bit late,’ since class had started 29 minutes ago (of course, you kept count).

“sorry, i got lost.” the boy stated blankly with unmissable boredom dripping off his tone; the rudeness he held almost made you gasp aloud, was the teacher really just okay with this?

“well, it’s okay for now, since you’re new, please introduce yourself to the class quickly.” he motioned towards the new boy, prompting everyone to turn their heads toward him.

he obliges. “hi, i’m nishimura riki, and i’m a transfer student from japan.” you watched riki shove his hands into his jeans pockets and then glimpse down to the floor, seemingly unsure of what to do next.

“thank you, riki. take a seat now.” and with that, the classroom went soulless again. you were about to return to your untouched notes, which was when you caught a glimpse of riki walking dangerously close to the empty seat right next to you.

his pale fingers reached for the chair, pulling it out and then settling down without even paying note of you. he messily threw his bag on the floor, then rested his head on the desk.

the lesson continued like this for a while: barely any students paying attention, riki possibly asleep next to you, truly oblivious to whoever stared at him.

a few minutes later, the teacher passed out an exit ticket, sitting leisurely in his chair while his students racked their minds to complete the paper. you sighed, massaging the top of your temples in attempts to keep yourself as sane as possible for another 8 minutes until the bell rang.

you turned to your left, checking the clock for the nth time today.

an annoyed ‘tsk’ met your ears and you furrowed your brows, frowning. “what?” you mumbled, quiet enough so that only riki heard.

“stop looking at my paper, you’re copying me.”

you blinked, then again. did you hear that right? you, copying someone? it was like your ears were playing tricks on you. why would you, of all people, need to cheat? “i’m not trying to copying you!”

“hm, really? your empty paper says otherwise.” riki pointed to your exit ticket, and he was right, there wasn’t a single pencil mark on it.

your cheeks heated up at the realization, and you huffed. “so? that doesn’t mean i need your stupid answers, be realistic, riki.”

he laughed as you shunned him away, turning back to your own paper and away from the conversation. “whatever you say, i guess.”

you tried to work on the assignment, but your mind was too frustrated to focus on anything other than what had just happened. who did he think he was?

you couldn’t be upset for much longer, however, because the bell rang, disrupting your thought process. as soon as the ringing sound graced your ears, you were the first one to turn in your (empty) paper and run out of the room, garnering weird stares from your classmates, but you didn’t pay attention to them.

all you knew right now was that you wanted absolutely nothing to do with that horrendous boy ever again, and you were going to do everything in your ability to avoid him.

you have a dance practice today with your team, therefore, you went to the store in advance and bought snacks so that you would have something to eat. after filling the bags with a bunch of stuff, you happily walked back to school.

you've missed this routine so much. spending school days with friends, having lunch in the school cafeteria, dancing after school, and tired but happy to go home. you missed it so much while living in a completely different continent for a year.

“can't wait to go home, i am so tired” gyuvin groaned and barely walked, holding heavy bags in his hands.

“we haven't even started,” haerin looked at him sceptically and lightly slapped him on the back.

“don't be a bore, gyuvin. i know you missed it too,” wonyoung exclaimed and yes, she was right.

gyuvin, your childhood best friend, missed those days when you were with them and lay tired together on the floor in the studio. even though he doesn't talk about missing you, but shows it with his actions. he would repeat your habits or eat your favourite snacks, as taki has noticed.

“yes, i did,” he rolls his eyes and shyly grins.

but before the practice, you had one more class so you patiently waited until the end of the school. however, something didn't let you focus properly on the lesson. you only had to turn around once to see jungwon who was looking at you and turned away as soon as you caught him. ‘that's strange’ you thought and got back to your work.

after a few hours of chemistry class, you finally got free and headed to the sports hall. your friends were already there, waiting only for you, so without wasting any time you went to the studio. it was not so far from the sports hall, so you guys arrived fast.

“he was just looking at you?” taki asked you, after hearing your story of what happened in chemistry class.

“no, he was staring!” you exclaimed and wanted to say something more, but some female voices and laughter you heard from the studio immediately caught your attention. “does someone have to be there at this time?” you asked, looking confused at your friends.

“uhm no, at this time, the studio should be free for us,” wonyoung checked the time on her phone and had a confused expression as everyone else.

you carefully opened the door and saw a bunch of girls in cheerleader uniforms. they all looked at you with some strange expressions on their faces and the girl who was standing in the middle was approaching you with slow steps.

“hyejung, what are you doing here? today is tuesday, our time to use this studio,” wonyoung got closer to her and the smirk on Hyejung's face pissed her off.

“why can't we use the studio? don't be so greedy,” she rolled her eyes.

jungwon and his friends who were passing by the studio stopped at the door after hearing sounds from inside.

“but we have indicated the day and time when we will use the studio, haven't we?” haerin stepped forward and stood beside wonyoung.

“oh please shut up, it's not a big deal,” hyejung crossed her arms and this is when you lost your patience, after quietly standing and observing the whole situation.

“that's enough, hyejung, right? sorry, didn't quite catch your name. haerin clearly said that you discussed the time of using the studio. i don't know why you would prefer to practice in this small studio rather than in a large sports hall where all of you, 15 people, would fit. even so, you are embarrassing yourselves for not keeping your words and being irresponsible, hence it makes you look disrespectful and dishonest,” you confidently ended your speech, looking at how hyejung’s face began to boil and blush with anger and shame, probably.

she was speechless, everyone were. even jungwon and his friends who were standing outside and listening to it all. yet they were incredibly amazed by your determination and confidence. hyejung walked out from that place with her fellow cheerleaders. she was startled to see jungwon behind outside of the studio and got annoyed as soon as she saw niki’s, ricky’s, hanni’s, and eunchae’s smirks.

“omg yn, you are insane! insanely cool!” taki hugged you behind your back and you couldn't help but smile at your friend's compliments of you putting hyejung in her place.

still smiling, you noticed several people standing at the door out of the corner of your eyes and immediately met with jungwon’s gaze, who was both surprised and impressed. however, your eye contact was interrupted because of eunchae who ran into your studio.

“yn!!! that was amazing! you are so cool,” she exclaimed with so much joy and just stood there admiring you.

“she is really something else,” you grinned and again caught jungwon staring at you.

“okay eunchae, we have to practice now” you walked the youngest to the door and closed it, giving her and the others a last wave.

“hyejung deserved that, yn should get a reward for doing god's job,” niki said, walking slowly down the hallway along with his friends.

“yeah, someone had to do it and i am glad that it was yn” hanni agreed with him still remembering hyejung’s face that was as red as a tomato.

“alright guys, i have to go now, my extra classes are starting soon” jungwon suddenly declared and left.

"Dani come in!" you say to Danielle, standing in front of her porch. She gets in your car and starts blasting music (i hc danielle would be a swiftie idk)

"Oh yeah! that's my jam, dani!" you squeal as Danielle played 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' by Cyndi Lauper on your phone. "You look great!" Danielle said as she looks at your outfit. Wearing a white sun dress with ribbons as straps, along with bows on your half pigtails. You did feel pretty. "Says you!" you said back to Danielle.

"Some boys take a beautiful girl and hides her away from the rest of the world, I wanna be the ine to walk in the sun! Oh girls just wanna have fuuuuuunnn" you and Danielle sang as you drive your car on the highway. "This is so fun!" you laughed. "I know!" Danielle said back, teeth showing as she smiled. "So..." she trails off; "So...?" you ask back. "How are you guys?" Danielle asks with a smirk. "Who..?" you knew who she was talking about, of couse; Jake. Who else could it be? "Jake?? You guys talk alot, no?" She asks. "Mmm yea but i think he thinks I'm weird." you said back.

"What? What do you mean? You always post screenshots on your twitter, you also sent them to us. I'm actually getting sick of it." She laughs. "Well yea, but.. argh I don't know." You responded.

You focused on the road, having Danielle help you to read the gps. Both of you were singing and jamming along to your playlist. You felt adrenaline build up inside of you, excited to see the fest, and Jake of course.

"Aaaaand we're here!" you said while parking your car. You and Danielle walked hand in hand to the front row. "Thank God we're early" Danielle said. "Yea, otherwise we can't get the very front" you laughed. "Oh be so for real. We all know who you're planning to see this close up." She nudges you playfully. "Oh shut up." you nudge her back.

A few minutes passed, the previous empty pit is now full with people. Laughs and cheers fill the surrounding, crowding the area. 2 people walk on stage who appear to be the MC's. "Hello everyone! my name is Wonyoung!" the tall girl said. "And I'm Jungwon!" the other boy said. "And we are your MC's for today! Welcome to Wonderfest!" they exclaimed. The crowd starts to cheer, excited for the fest to begin. After the Wonyoung and Jungwon did their whole MC thing, they exited the stage. The lights began to dim; The jumbotron showed numbers, counting down for the fest to start.

The crowd goes wild as 5 boys walk out to the stage. You could feel your heart racing, seeing the boy you're head over heels on. His hair is shining, reflecting the sun; His skin, glowing and a bit tan; His face looks ecstatic as he picks up his electric guitar. His eyes wandered through the crowd as if he's looking for someone; Then, his angel eyes met yours. You could swear everything around was in slo-mo when he smiled at you.

Jake strums a chord on his guitar, checking if it sounds right. To you, anything sounds good if it's from him. Jake then starts playing a song, one of your favourite songs.

Kiss Me by Sixpence none the richer. You would do that– you would kiss him right now. Heeseung hits the hi-hat and bass drum to the rhythm, Sunghoon following along with the bass. Your eyes were basically heart shaped with the way you look at them, especially Jake. He strums his guitar, then looks at you while singing the first verse of the song; "Kiss me out of the bearded barley, nightly beside the green green grass" he sings— And you wanted to do just that. You wanted to kiss him, right there and now. The way his voice whispers heaven in your ear sounds angelic. His lips worded each lyric just right. His little Australian accent peeked through some words, you thought it was cute. His head nods to the beat Heeseung was drumming; Jay was also playing the guitar, Sunghoon was on the bass; Riki was playing notes on the keyboard; Their whole band played nothing but harmony.

The way Jake dances and taps his feet on the stage to the rhythm made your eyes go star struck. The crowd were singing along with them too. "I bet he chose this song just for you" Danielle looks at you with a grin. "I wish" you look back at her laughing. "No seriously, with the way things have been acting? He's making it go so fast, he's basically confessing to you with this song right now." Danielle adds. "Dani stop making theories" you roll your eyes playfully at her.

"Kiss me beneath the milky twilight, lead me out on the moonlit floor" Jake sings. "Lift your open hands, strike up the band and make the fireflies dance, silver moon's sparkling..." He sang out.
