not to dive back into my apparently controversial video game opinions but the "they probably left out nigh all references to botw to not confuse new players" argument for totk really confuses me in turn bc …

if an overgrown non functioning botw shrine confuses you so much you cant keep playing how are you ever getting through any video game?? if you are not familiar with botw its just part of the environment for you, a fallen apart titan or a half collapsed shrine of life with a cave now leading somewhere else shouldnt completely confuse you-

but mainly ... this is (supposedly................) a direct sequel to botw, a literal second part, if you dont play the first one and just get into the second one you cant blame it on anyone but yourself for not understanding some things? like if totk actually built on what botw set up and you get into totk without having played the first one you really have no right to be angry about being confused by some things its like if you start watching a series with the second season instead of the first one, your own darn fault if you dont get it (also theres plenty of people who summarize video games for you so you could also jsut watch one of those if you really really dont want to play the first one)

if this is really the reason nintendy forcibly bent everything in totk to not dare have a proper connection to botw then ... im sorry but why the heck did you call it a sequel then, if you want to have a standalone game then make a standalone game, and if you want to reuse the map and models so badly then just say its some paralel universe or something, you have literally done that before!!

I was going to buy some Zelink fanart stickers on RedBubble. I saved some designs a couple weeks ago because I was still deciding which ones I wanted. I check my favorites today, and everything Zelink related is gone! What the hell Nintendo? They're just stickers.

Damn, I went into the Direct with basically no expectations since it's clear that Nintendo is winding down development for the Switch in anticipation of the next system, but this one was surprisingly solid. Mario & Luigi coming back from its assumed death after the closure of AlphaDream, a new 2D Zelda, new Mario Party, and the long-awaited return of Metroid Prime 4 - plus some decent third-party announcements in the original Dragon Quest trilogy getting remade, the Marvel vs Capcom collection, and Ace Attorney Investigations 2 finally getting an English release. And some more minor but still neat stuff like Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and the door officially being open for M-rated games on NSO (was hoping to see Conker, but hey, it's way more likely now). Not the best Direct ever or anything, but it gave us more than I was expecting.

i do think a lot abt the fact that totk answers no questions at all btw its so funny always. is the ancient hero a zonai or some other race? like how those statues in the depths Clearly aren't hylian? if he is a zonai, why does he have a tail if rauru and mineru dont? is that just what half-hylians half-zonai look like? well. we'll never tell <3

Honestly even with the versatility of her wand I think Zelda is still going to get dungeon items-- at the very least, a bow, since that's Zelda's typical weapon

echoes of wisdom seems cool! i'll probably make designs for its link and zelda once the game comes out, but it won't be integrated into cr (my au) unless it turns out to be the same link and zelda as a different game (some people have been theorizing it's alttp link&zelda, and if that's true then they will be in the au because alttp link&zelda are already in the au.)

as it is, i've already started making the comic (surprise!) and don't want to A: go back and edit the already done pages and B: edit my mostly-planned story to include more people than i was prepared for (hence why eos link&zelda can only be involved if they're actually the same as a different link&zelda.) but i'll probably give them a cameo of some kind

Let's start with some realistic ones actually: Zelda Tears of the Kingdom gameplay. Please. Also news on the next wave(s) of Xenoblade 3 dlc

In terms of realistic predictions I'd expect fire emblem engage dlc update as well but I honestly don't care about that one

Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy. Please Square. I am once again begging. Once the Pixel Remasters drop on console the entire series will be on modern consoles except 13. Aka the one I'd really like to play. PC version doesnt count I don't like PC gaming

Xenogears remake in the HD 2D style they used for games like Octopath Traveler. Once again beggin Square despite knowing they will just disappoint

Obligatory please port Xenoblade X to Switch. (Even if they do eventually they definitely won't until after Xenoblade 3 has had its final dlc wave)

Nintendo please revive the Style Boutique/Style Savvy franchise. I really loved those games on 3DS and I desperately want a new one :(

I know Engage just dropped so no way this would happen but remake the Japan only Fire Emblems and also the Tellius games so I can play them on my Switch :)
