As promised, here are the details of Sam Heughan's appearance at the exclusive fan event held today, August 26, 2023! From a source who was at the event in person today!

These are DMs from my source who participated in the event today and gave me permission to post. I can't say where the event was held until Sam leaves; most likely he will be gone by tomorrow from the city where it was held. But here are the source's DMs with all the details!

So there you have it! So exciting for the people at this event. I'm sure more info and pics will come out in the next few days. But I wanted you guys to have the first scoop on it. I'll post anything else that I get later. 🤗

Ruben Amorim, here we go?

No sooner had we acclimatised to the news that Erik Ten Hag was out and Ruud Van Nistelrooy was at the helm, did The Athletic then double-down on us with the news that Ruben Amorim was in talks with Manchester United about taking over at Old Trafford.

Fabrizio already has him mocked up in a United jacket lmao.

There's a lot to be said, a lot other people have said, and a lot we don't know, so this will be a bit of a Twitter compilation post to showcase the discourse:

There's a reason a lot of teams want/wanted him. Liverpool have been quite amusing, decrying him as not "all that". Maybe he's not, but Slot had similar stats and has done well.

That said, ETH had slightly better stats and failed. It's a coin toss.

And with United comes THE MOST pressure of any job in professional football. This man could have the vibes to do it though.

Some players would evidently flourish under Amorim. Martinez-De Ligt-Yoro are obvious, Onana suits his style too, and Ugarte was weapons grade for him before the PSG move.

I think the new gaffer could be the making of Zirkzee though, and the one to bring Harry Amass though and mould him.

Amorim, as explained by Statman Dave six months ago, likes a 3-4-3, likes to overload on the press, and likes to push wide then underlap to come in on the offensive. Coincidentally, we have ball-playing defenders and wide forwards who like to cut in.

United's big issues are at LWB and RWB. We have Dalot and Mazraoui, and apparently we have Shaw and Malacia (ETH confirmed Shaw's had another setback lmao). Normally Amorim likes an offensive LB at LWB in case he needs to drop to a back 4, and a middle of the pitch RM for creation and possession. Amass and Amad would be perfect for this, but then where does that leave Dalot and Mazraoui? LWB? They've been a bit shit there. It might be that they go right side while we move to bin off our LBs and let Amass develop a bit more; maybe a mid season loan or even next season out. I don't know.

The other issue for him will be goals. Maybe this style gets our front line firing. Confidence breeds goals breed confidence. But if they don't... we might see things falter for a bit until the summer transfer window.

Being only 39, Amorim has the benefit of experience and many years ahead. He's one year older than Tom Heaton, played with Victor Lindelof at Benfica, and played against both Jonny Evans and Christian Eriksen.

As we mentioned Liverpool, we should also mention 115 FC.

The best video, from back in the summer, goes a little further than Statman Dave's deep-dive with the flaws of the team. Alex points out how Sporting overperformed thanks to individual brilliance (that sounds familiar...) and could be over-egging his qualities.

It should be said though that this season, Sporting have fixed up and reduced their defensive frailties from last season and are smashing it. Maybe they were lucky, maybe it was just an early outlier of a system being implemented.

As for next summer, Viktor Gyökeres is the obvious signing candidate. He was tipped as a gamble for United before his Sporting move and he has flourished. A return to England, and to the top table, could please him, Sporting, and Amorim, and could give United the goalscoring firepower we need - and proper motivation to Hojlund.

Another potential is Zeno Debast; a Football Manager fan favourite along with the likes of Yoro, Scalvini and Silva. The former Anderlecht player moved last summer and is a very promising talent, and with United expected to ship Maguire, Lindelof and Evans... we need someone. It's unlikely we'd get a double raid off, but then we did get Martinez and Antony so we'll see. I suspect Real Madrid might poach him to be honest, and that they'll bag Yoro and Garnacho down the line.

Anyway, Amorim might be announced later in the week after tomorrow's Leicester game. We wait and see.

Oh, joy!!! Oh, happy day!!! I just read two articles saying that the Yankees are, finally, thinking about replacing Aaron Boone. I've been saying that they should do that for years. We have one of the most talented rosters in the game, but with the bad decisions that Boone makes constantly, we are struggling. Hopefully, the new manager would replace DJ Lemahieu with Oswaldo Cabrera, and he would put Anthony Volpe back at the top of the order and Ben Rice batting clean up. That would help us a lot. Boone makes bad decision after bad decision. It's exhausting to watch that and not be able to do anything about it. The Yankees team this year could win the World Series with the right manager. I'm gonna be praying that they replace Aaron Boone soon. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Sorry, Mr. Boone, but it's gotta be done. Let's go Yankees!!!!!

"Are you Jason Peter Todd?!" demanded a deep and commanding tone from the strange glowing being in front of them.

All the Bats stiffened and tensed, no doubt gearing up for a fight against the being that somehow knew Red Hood's full name.

Jason, Red Hood, decided to put on a brave front despite no doubt cursing in his head and wondering how the heck did this thing know his full freaking name.

"Whose asking." he snarled out, his hands twitching for his gun when the huge glowing knight with purple flames coming out of his helmet and cape, who was riding on a nightmare looking horse while they all had been in the cave going over tonight's patrol.

The Knight didn't seemed bothered by his response nor did he even seem to care or flinch when Batman made his own demand on 'Why was he there and who was he' or when Damian unsheathed his sword and pointed it towards him. Instead the strange glowing Knight reached to it side and pulled out... A glowing scroll? Huh. (Also he completely unnerved everyone in the room when the Knight didn't even react when Batman had tossed a Baterang when he reached for his side)

The Knight opened the scroll and spoke clearly with purpose.

"Jason Peter Todd,

You are hereby invited as a special guest of honor to the crowning of our future King of the Infinite Realms.
