The wrath that had sent your fire reeling banked at the cool touch of Loki’s hands around your waist. In one moment you were a raging inferno, destroying every artefact, every decoration and drape in your path, sending other gods fleeing back into side rooms and up onto the balconies. The next you were cradled so softly in his arms, his touch pushing back your anger like a cool breeze on a summer day.
The burnt cinders of the corridor were gone and you found yourself alone in a similarly vast marble throne room, sealed from floor to ceiling in onyx black marble, seams of gold tracing through the wide blocks into an endless ceiling, twinkling with candlelight.
Loki held you to his chest, petting the back of your head and down your arms, quenching the fire under his touch and, when you finally looked at him, he still held that pale blue hue that had appeared when he created a sedir shield against your explosive anger.
“Asynja,” Loki breathed your name like a prayer, cupping your cheek and drawing you closer.
“Loki,” you sobbed, collapsing back into his chest and allowing your tears to fall freely, “I don’t want to join any of their families.” You finally let the tears flow, now that your anger was subsiding, and your fear rose swiftly to the surface.
“No one can make you go with them, my darling,” Loki soothed, but you still hiccuped around another sob. “I promise, as long as I am beside you, my darling Asynja, no one shall take you from me. Do you understand?” He pulled back to look down at you, his eyes brimming with a potent mixture of anger and possessiveness.
“I understand,” you took a deep breath, but the flames that had surrounded you continued to dance around your feet and temples. “It’s just - it’s an awful lot to deal with so suddenly.”
“I know, I too have experienced a revelation about my parentage, and the powers that come with it.” He kept his eyes steady with yours but you could tell from the twitch in his jaw that he was holding his emotions back.
Confused you allowed your gaze to rove over him for the first time, he didn’t appear to be hurt by the flames but he still looked different somehow.
“You’re blue.”
“Yes,” Loki laughed a little, “I am blue. I thought it might help you to see that you are not alone in discovering new things about yourself and that you are also not alone in being frightened. Although this is only part of my other body.” He admitted.
You took Loki’s hand, colder than usual, and led him into the centre of the ballroom before tugging him to sit on the floor beside you. “What are you frightened of?” Your dress pooled around you, shimmering slightly, and Loki carefully arranged your skirts so that he could press as close to you as possible.
“I imagine the same as you, what I will become, should I let the truth of my nature show.”
“And what is your true nature?” You took his hand and traced the darker blue lines that had appeared along the back, dipping between his fingers.
“Odin was not my father, my father was Laufey, of Jotenheim, King of the Frost Giants. That is why I am Loki Laufeyson. Father, Odin, used to say that both Thor and I were born to sit upon the throne. It was only recently I learnt that he meant separate thrones and not a joint ruling of the kingdom as I’d believed. I had imaged that we would share responsibilities, divided by our personal skills in both warring and intrigue. But father had other plans. My brother, of Asgard, would rule over the people that we love, the home that I knew. Yet I, the son stolen from his homeland, was destined for a throne in a room I did not remember, a people I did not know, a land I have visited but once.” He choked on his words, fighting the emotion he’d tamped down for so long.
“Oh, Loki, I’m so sorry. He should never have kept that from you, or teased you and Thor like that.” You squeezed his hands tighter and Loki turned to give you a sad smile.
“Fear not, darling, I do not wish for a throne, it is no great disappointment to me that it belongs to another.”
“What are you afraid of then?”
“My form, this is a body, a form, that I was given as a child by my mother. Frost Giants are unlike Asgardians, I fear that my Jotun form would be a terrifying prospect for all around me, there is precious little regard for me as it is, I should hate to ruin my reputation further.” Loki smiled again, patting your hand. “We should leave, we can return to Tonsberg as planned, we’ll be safe there and we can put this whole sorry mess to rest. We have no need to fear prophecies, we can write our own futures.” Loki seemed so sure, confident that he could walk away from this threat as he had so many others that you almost believed him.
Perhaps you could, but you would have no secrets between you if you did.
You allowed him to rise, but tugged him back when he offered you his hand, “show me.”
“Excuse me?”
“Show me, let it go, be a Jotun, show me.” You repeated, raising your eyebrows and watching him expectantly. “I already saw your skin go sort of blue, what else happens?”
Loki looked almost bashful, “really, darling, I have no concept of what might happen. Frost Giants can be ten feet tall, I would not wish to risk any harm coming to you.”
“Loki, please, look at the size of this room,” you both looked up at the ceiling, though it was so high you could barely see it, shrouded as it was in the darkness of the marble.
“If you insist,” he conceded, “but only for you, my darling.”
Loki stepped further from you, and as he did he began to change subtly. When Loki used his sedir the change could be tracked by the journey of the magic over his body, but this was different. He grew taller and as you watched you missed his hair lengthening, growing down his back. His skin, an icey blue, was marked with more and more intricate designs and his eyes became red. His growth slowed and you stared up at him. Naked and in his full glory for the first time.
Loki must have been at least ten feet tall, if not more, though the ballroom ceiling was still far away he could reach up and touch the cascading chandeliers, he was certainly towering over you, sprawled as you were on the floor, attempting to take in his full height.
“Wow.” You continued to stare, your hand reaching out for him.
“Is wow a positive expression?” Loki asked, his voice still the same, though louder now. The sound vibrated through you and you clenched your legs together.
“Uh - definitely a good thing.” Loki was always beautiful, but this form, so tall and broad, muscular and strong, so purely alien. He was truly a god and you felt small before him. “I bet you could pick me up with one hand.” You said, touching his calf absently.
Loki laughed in response and you felt hot, you hadn’t meant to say that out loud, but it had taken you by surprise how attractive you found this form.
“Probably,” he quirked an eyebrow. “Shall we find out what else we could do?”
Loki bent down on her haunches and extended a hand towards you. His hands were still decorated with whirls of darker blue, and you traced them with your own fingers. With a grin he scooped you up, knocking you backwards so that you landed in his open palms.
Shocked, you gazed up at him open mouthed and his smile didn’t fade, instead it morphed into the teasing grin that knew you were in for both pleasure and mischief.
In this form you looked different too, although Loki was always taller he had certainly never viewed you like this. So small and vulnerable in his hand. He clenched his fingers gently, folding his thumb over your waist and circling your back with his fingers. You curled your arms around his thumb, hanging on tightly.
When he stood you shook, each of your movements amplified in his palm, as if he was back catching creatures in the forests of his youth, a nymph of his own to play with. He clenched his jaw against the thought - a plaything. His own goddess to play with.
“You look so - delicate.” He cooed, keeping his voice lower now you were closer to him.
“You look enormous.” You choked out, heat spreading over your chest and neck despite the chill of his touch. “Please, Loki, distract me from all this?” You asked, he had been right, this was exactly what you needed to feel less alone, less strange in this alien world. But now you needed more of him, you’d never get enough of anything that Loki could offer you, you’d take every facet of him, every version.
“What do you require of me, my tiny darling.” Loki lifted you higher, holding you to his cheek, your legs dangled in the air but your arms reached forward, touching his cold skin.
You leant towards him, pressing your lips against the expanse of smooth skin that covered his still sharp cheekbones, and pressed tickling kisses there, “make me forget, Loki. Please?”
“How could I deny such a polite request.” He cupped his other hand around you and, in a warm shimmer of magic, you felt your clothes vanish from your body. Still surrounded by his fingers your skin tingled, erupting in goosebumps at the press of his cold palm.
Loki lifted you back towards his face and pursed his lips, blowing warm air into his cupped hands and you giggled. You’d been expecting him to launch into some debauched idea of his, knowing that at least ten crackled around his thoughts at all times, but his playfulness caught you off guard as it always did.
“Loki!” You squirmed in his grasp and he held you all the tighter for it, bringing you back to his lips. This time he opened his hands and held you still, his second thumb covering your arms over your head so you couldn’t move, and then kissed the soft swell of your stomach. His lips were as cold as the rest of him, but as gentle as ever.
You giggled again, heat skittering over your skin and then shooting between your legs. His thumb swiped over your body and he kissed you again and again, turning you this way and that to find a spot on your side, on your hip, that he hadn’t yet worshipped.
“My darling,” he sighed, tipping his hand back so that you fell into his palm again, sprawled before him, “what a delicious little morsel you are.” His smile was vulpine and the only warning you got before he licked you, his tongue dipping between your spread legs and swiping up towards your breasts. You squealed in surprise, trying to close your legs but his fingers tangled over them, holding you open and he licked and licked, pausing only to blow gusts of cold air over the heat of your flesh.
“I could eat you forever and never be satiated.” Loki fit his tongue between your legs, teasing the tip against your entrance until you felt him stretch you gently. He angled his tongue upwards, humming softly and you swore you saw all the stars exploding as the vibrations thrummed through your bones. Loki continued, tilting his face forwards so that he nose pressed on your lower stomach, his tongue still angling upwards and your body sang for him, taut and ready.
“You’re devine,” he cooed, the rush of his words like a breeze, cooling your slick as it ran down your sticky thighs.
“Please, Loki, I can’t - I need - I want to cum - I’m going to - agh!”
Like a sacrificial offering he kept you pinned open until you were begging, pleading for more, the ever tightening coil of your arousal turned and turned in your stomach until you could take no more, gushing onto his tongue with a scream of pained pleasure. The sensations were overwhelming, heat and cold and pressure and pleasure and ecstasy all rolled into one.
Loki gave you a few seconds to recover before he lay you onto the table, sprawled before him.
“You are truly a feast, Asynja. Look at you, covered in us both and still smiling.” He kissed your cheek the best he could, swiping his thumb over your belly and thighs, rubbing in his kisses.
Your chest heaved, sweat cooling between your breasts and you longed for his touch again, even if it was icy, anything but this loneliness now that he had put you down.
“Loki -” you gasped, reaching for him and finding one of his large hands, your hand barely fit around his finger but his touch was soothing and pleasant on your heated skin.
He brushed his thumb over your breasts, around your nipples, down, down until he could lift your leg and cup you again, his thumb covering your folds and applying pressure to your aching clit. Your body no longer belonged to you, given over to the pleasure that touch created, your hips lifted, rolling into the pad of his thumb and he let you, a satisfied smile on his face as your pace increased, riding his hand. With an obscene moan you arched from the table and into his awaiting touch.
“You’re not satisfied, darling?” He smirked as you looked at him with heavily lidded eyes, “I promise I’m going nowhere until you are completely sated,” he bent over the table, looming over you and filling your senses, “we shall only leave when you are panting, crying for me to stop.” Loki kissed the side of your face, close enough that you could twine your hands in his hair in an effort to keep him there, so close you thought you could breathe him in. Despite all of the changes to his body, his hair felt the same, soft and silky and smelt like the expensive shampoo he insisted on using. It blended with his usual deep amber scent and something else, perhaps something Jotun, that reminded you of snowy days and icey nights.
“God - Loki - I - fuck me, please.”
You both looked down at the sizable erection tenting his magically enlarged trousers, his words rumbled through you, his lips still at your cheek, “I do not wish to break you, my Asynja, perhaps something else may sate your lusts.” His cock bobbed under his trousers, twitching in time with his words, and you knew without looking in his eyes that he was using every ounce of his self control not to at least try and push himself deep inside of you.
Suddenly his thumb was gone and you gave a low whine at the loss, dropping a hand between your legs to try and continue the glorious cresting of your impending orgasm, but Loki moved your hand away.
“Patience, darling,” he chided, still cupping the backs of your legs, tugging you to the edge of the long table. Instead of his thumb he stroked his pinky finger down your stomach, one hand keeping you still, the other drawing teasing circles over your belly button, lower and lower with each circle.
Even his smallest finger felt enormous, Loki in his usual size was enough of a stretch and heat flooded through you at the thought of trying to take even his finger.
“Lo’,” you were incoherent now, thrashing on the table with every movement, but he pressed on, the pad of his finger at your entrance, spreading your arousal over your clit and pushing slowly, intently, until you felt yourself stretch around him.
“Norns, Asynja, you are the most delicious woman in the nine kingdoms, in every realm, every universe, every time,” he cooed, pressing further until you keened, your hands rushing back between your legs as if to both stop and continue the onslaught of pleasure.
You had never been so full in your life, so full and so loved, held as you were between Loki’s gigantic hands, his lips kissing away the sweat on your brow, sparkling like diamonds in the low light.
“Loki, I - I -” your fingers struggled to find purchase in his hair - on his hands, slipping over his arousal soaked skin and you were dimly aware that that was the feel of you, hot and slick between you, dripping onto the table, before your orgasm hit you at full force, just from the stretch alone.
“Good girl, Asynja,” Loki growled, moving only slightly as your walls clenched around him, he could feel very flutter and movement on his sensitive fingertips and then you gushed, squirting over his finger and soaking the his chin where he perched between your legs.
Loki’s red eyes went darker, a blood red full of his widened pupil and drinking in every inch of your sweating, heaving body, your velvet skirts pushed up around your waist and bare legs shining with your arousal.
“Fuck, Loki - that was -” you dropped your head back onto the table with a thunk, staring glassy eyed at the lights twinkling above.
“It’s my pleasure, my darling.” He drawled, grin feral, tongue poking out between blue teeth. The first lap was soothing on your heated skin, sending goosebumps up and down your legs.
You peered up, tucking your head into your chest to view the god between your legs, still worshipping you, still thinking only of you. It was overwhelming, his devotion, and you wanted - needed, to make him feel the same.
Carefully you eased yourself to the edge of the table, level with his smiling face, and then you let your feet drop to the floor, a hand on his bare chest, pushing him backwards until he lay on the marble floor. Loki was the only other colour in the room, a bright star in the darkness. The bulge of his trousers was pressing against the zipper and you carefully settled on his hip, pushing your hands against the fabric.
It was Loki’s turn to groan now, the sound a deep rumble that travelled down his body and back between your legs. A fresh wave of arousal made itself known, but you tamped down your feelings. It was Loki’s turn now.
He helped you to tug the zipper down, freeing his impossibly large cock from its prison.
“Fuck.” The word was out before you could stop it and you left your mouth hanging open while you took in his full glory. In his Asgardian form Loki was already generously endowed. But as Jotun - you placed your hand against the firm length and marvelled at how delicate his skin still felt, albeit colder than normal. His cock twitched beneath your palm and a large bead of precum slithered from the tip, tracing the contours of a thick vein that ran up the bottom.
“Please -” Loki whimpered, his hands twitching. One came to wrap around your waist, gently holding you, the other he clenched in the fabric of his trousers.
“Can I taste?”
“Yes - of course, please, Asynja, do not torment me, can you not feel how I ache for you. How my body needs you?”
He squeezed his eyes closed, the sound of fabric ripping slowly accompanying the tightening of his first.
“I’d hate to leave you aching, my Prince.” You teased, leaning forwards and wrapping your hands around as much of his girth as you could. Tugging yourself closer to him you let your tongue dancing over his throbbing vein, arching higher towards the flare around the head. Marvelling at the beautiful shades his Jotun form afford him, you missed a second roll of precum escaping down the side and soaking your arm.
“Norns -” Loki clenched his jaw, “I must apologise for -”
“Please, don’t.” You knelt up and licked him again, eagerly tasting as much of him as you could. “You taste a little different, it’s fascinating.”
“Asynja,” he warned.
“Well -” you licked, “you do.”
Reaching the sensitive head you dipped your face towards his slit, pressing your nose into the soft flesh and pushing your tongue down, swirling it and pulsing as he did to you. You were rewarded with more and more of his cum, weeping past your pressing fingers.
“Asynja, I cannot hold back any longer - my darling -”
His cock pulsed, you could feel it against your body were you had pressed yourself against the entire length of him and it felt devine. Your body responded, clit aching for the feel of it.
“Do that again,” you begged, rubbing yourself against him, pushing on his length until you were lying on his stomach, wrapped around him, legs thrown over his base, toes curling.
The hand at your waist squeezed too and you felt the sensation of him moving you gently, the drag and pull of skin on skin, your pussy wet and wanting against his cock.
“You feel so fucking good, my darling, I can’t help it, your little body is perfection, made for me, made for my cock.”
You mewled, licking and sucking at his rigid length, thrusting your hips into him in seach of your own pleasure.
“I’m going to cum, Asynja and you haven’t even tried to move away.” He growled, his voice wavering as he neared his release.
“Don’t want to, Lo, I want your cum, want you to drench me in it, want you to use me and rub me on your beautiful cock, please - please!” Your sobs of pleasure joined his own, a deep knot tightening in the pit of your stomach.
“My goddess, my princess, my darling I will give you every drop you wish for.” He promised, fingers so tight you knew you’d have an array of bruises to enjoy tomorrow, but now, plunged into the most exquisite pleasure you’d ever felt, you latched onto the spot below his glands and sucked and sucked and -
Loki came with a shout, chasing your own release with each pulse of his cock, and spurted down your arms and hands, your back and legs. He painted his own chest in ropes and ropes of cum until he sighed, releasing your body and sagging into the floor.
Slowly he shrank until you were lying chest to chest on the cold floor and laughing.
“Loki, please tell me we can do that again.” You mumbled into his chest, lazily kissing his now, slightly warmer, skin.
“I’d be disappointed if we didn’t.” He agreed, “although I think we may traumatise my poor brother should he stumble upon us. Perhaps it’s time we find him and return to Tonsberg?”
“Can’t we stay here and have a nap?” You closed your eyes defiantly, hoping he’d give in despite how uncomfortable you both were.
“Sadly, I can not allow a Goddess, such as yourself, to take her rest on a such an appalling hard surface. Only the finest pillows and sheets will do for you.” He pressed a kiss to the top of your head, “luckily, I know just such a place.”

“It matters not to me what form you take.” Thor soothes, echoing the words he spoke centuries earlier when Loki hesitantly explained that he was not always a prince but that did not necessarily mean he was Asgard’s princess either. “Whether you are my brother, my sister, my sibling, or a glorious snake, you are still my kin to protect above all else in Asgard.”
“And what do you propose I am, if not Asgardian?”
Fear grips tight to Thor’s heart but he does not falter. “Loki, you are Jotun.”

Tease
Loki Laufeyson x reader
Tags: Dominant reader, sub Loki, ropes, slightly public sex if you see it that way, no plot just porn, short drabble.
Note: It is currently 2:06am and I am tired. I wrote this to get it off my mind. I didn't read over this.
His grunts were music to your ears, struggling to hold on as you sunk on his cock and grinded down. His hands were tied to the chair, a little trick up your sleeve that he didn’t see coming or probably allowed it, considering how precious you were to him when you weren’t teasing him with your pussy. You pressed further, putting your hands on his suit vest, working on his buttons. “Mm.. I said no..”, his velvety voice filled the quiet room, almost a growl as it came out.
“You’re tied up, darling. You got no control over me..”, you put on a teasing voice, leaning in and smelling his cologne before licking a stride up his neck, earning a shiver from him. His hands were tightened into fists, knuckles turning white from the amount of pressure he was putting on them. You pressed a chaste kiss to his adam’s apple before ripping open his suit vest, knowing you were going to pay for that with the buttons flying across the room. Either you are getting pounded into a desk or you are sewing the buttons back on his vest.
You ran your hands along his chest, feeling the warmth on your palms before undoing his shirt buttons, not wanting to damage anymore of his clothes. His chest was heaving as you exposed it to your eyes.. your favorite part of his body. Not his cock, but his chest and stomach. His chest rising and falling with each heavy breast. As you pressed your staining kisses to his pecs, wrapping your lips around his nipples, he bucked his hips up to no avail. You took the precaution of tying his hips to the chair, wanting full control of him. “Relax.. let me take care of you.”, you grunt, running your tongue against the erect nipple earning a moan. “You sound so pretty..’
“You are treading dangerous waters.”, he growls out, yanking on the ropes a bit before trying to relax when you start to ride him again, slower this time. You wanted you both to feel every inch dragging out of your sopping wet cunt and filling you out each time, hoping to drive him crazy. Your fingers dance around his broad shoulders, pushing the white shirt off his shoulders. Your fingers move higher, grabbing his crown and yanking on it, making him grunt. You were trying to hold on, wanting to tease him and make him tetter on the edge like he does to you, but you were losing your composure. Damn, did his cock feel good.
You could feel his eyes roaming your body, trying to distract himself from the fact that he felt like he was about to combust under the touch of what he considered his pet. You let go of his crown and his head falls back, leaving his neck exposed. You take the prey, making marks all over his neck and claiming what was rightfully yours. Your arms wrap around his waist, pressing your body into his warm one, grinding down on his cock. “You are such… a tease.. gods, I cannot stand you.”, he pants, unable to keep up his exterior as he felt himself unravel, filling you with his godly seed, gripping the chair arms. Your head rolls back, stopping for a minute to let your hips rest before riding him through his high, eliciting an out of character plead.
“You are begging a mortal to stop, Loki?”, you cup his chin, as he does to you, a little smile playing on your face. “How pathetic.” You watch his head roll back, tasting his own medicine and enjoying it a little too much for an arrogant asshole. His moans started to get louder, the overstimulation running rapidly in his body. He hisses, feeling you tighten around him, squirming in his seat. You lean into him, more for leverage, but also teasing him more with your moans and pants of his name. He wasn’t sure what you were doing to him, but he was sure you were a seductress or a witch of some sort. No way a human could do this to him.
“I’m almost there, baby.. just be a good boy for me.”, you grip his shoulders, panting softly and riding him a bit faster. He groans in response, eyes closing at your words and the way you were obviously holding back to drag this torture out. You place your feet against the floor, thighs pressed against the arm rests of the chair and standing a bit. You grab his hair, yanking on it; needing something more out of him to get you to spill over. He grunts, opening his eyes and meeting your gaze with some less of dominant in his eyes,
“I’m your good boy, princess.”
You moan out his name, shivering and shaking as you soaked his dress pants in your essence. You put your head against his chest, panting heavily. His head laid back, eyes back to closed and savoring the moment of you still wrapped around him.
You pull back, untying his wrists and waist. His arms wrapped around you, embracing you in his warmth. “You are going to pay for that.”
“I know I will, love.. but it was fun.”

Borrowed Time - Chapter 24
FROM THE START
Chapter 24 - Too Many Questions
Excerpt:
“This is the only delivery my contact will be able to make for some time,” he warned, his voice suddenly as tired as the rest of him.
Eir nodded as if she knew exactly why. Then again she was there when Vanlandi spoke of Amora’s ransacked jail cell and she was not a fool so maybe she did.
“I have other contacts,” continued Loki, “but none as reliable as this one was. Do stress to your aides the importance of reading twice before doing once. I can’t promise a fast turn around on supplies from now on”
“Understandable. How is your back?”
“In pain. How is Jarl’s potion?”
“Simmering”
“Who among us isn’t?” shrugged Loki and added, “I have one question for you, not strictly a medical one.”

The Old Gods and The New - Chapter 27
The Goddess | Loki x Reader
You finally ascend to your full power and take your place in the Aesir.
Warnings: none really! Happiness, fluff, Loki being Loki. Rated F for Fin.

Series Masterlist | Loki Masterlist | Masterlist
Madam Gina was in her element. As soon as you’d agreed to her help she had whisked you off to her cottage to discuss the details further. Loki had been left standing with Brunnhilde and Thor before the latter had dragged him into the recently reopened Dog and Bilgesnipe for a celebratory drink where he shouted the news from the centre of the bar.
Jane had congratulated Loki as well before tracking you down at Madam Gina’s to join in with the planning, which you thought was probably a good sign that she’d stick around a little longer, even if her relationship with Thor was over.
By the time you joined them again later for dinner and drinks the entire village was in their cups, dancing and singing. Loki tucked you under his arm and gave you a whisky flavoured kiss before pulling you into the centre of the room.
It had been bitterly cold outside so his body warmth was even more welcome than usual. His injuries healed and bruises gone, Loki was as solid as always under your hands. He'd taken to wearing a series of fine knitted cashmere sweaters now the weather was warming up and the material was butter soft as you clung to him.
“My beautiful bride!” He declared and the entire bar cheered and raised their glasses while you smiled shyly, pressing your cheek into his shoulder.
The warmth of the bar was as intoxicating as Loki’s kisses, a drowsy heat that had your body relaxing into your chair, snuggling close and smiling dreamily. It had all been worth it for this.
The winter melted away into spring, leaving behind a carpet of crocus and bobbing narcissus in it’s wake. Loki took you for a walk daily, replacing your memories of your kidnappings, battles and scars with kisses and fond smiles.
Despite Loki’s protests that you make your ascension into a grand occasion, he relented and allowed for a smaller ceremony. But only on the condition that he could create extravagant surprises for you at your wedding the following year. Now the day was drawing closer and closer and your nerves were on fire.
“My darling,” Loki wrapped his arms around your waist, nuzzling his nose into the ticklish spot below your ear. “What ever has you so troubled on such a beautiful morning?” The sunlight was sparkling on the gentle waves across the bay, the day already turning out warm and fine, perfect for an ascension, you supposed. But your stomach was in knots.
“I’m nervous.” You admitted, holding his hands tighter around your waist, “I’ve never even seen anything like this -”
“Neither have I, Asynja, and yet I know this is what you deserve. Full access to your power so we can stand shoulder to shoulder, Gods of Asgard.” His voice was low and playful and though the thought of being beside Loki forever sent electric currents through your veins, the responsibility felt heavy.
You sagged back against him, letting him take your weight, “what if I’m not good enough?”
“Good enough for what?” He pulled you closer, your back against the warmth of his chest.
“To be a goddess.”
Loki laughed, “I thought you were worried about being my wife, I was concerned. My darling, if I can be a god, flawed as I am, then you will be a triumph.”
“You’re a wonderful god, Loki. Jane told me what you did for her, Korg told me about the rescue from Ragnarok and Thor told me about how you tried to save him from yourself when he was newly come to power. You’re a lot to live up to.” You turned in his arms and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek.
“There’s no requirement to behave as another god does, the brilliant thing about being a God, or Goddess, that has ascended is…you make your own rules. Whichever facet of life you oversee is yours to protect and to shape in your own image.”
“No pressure then,” you sighed, tucking your face into his neck to hide your fear.
“Some pressure, but only because I know you to be an honourable, hard working and passionate woman and I expect you to be so as a Goddess as well.”
That would have to be enough for now, you supposed, there was no going back on your agreement to ascend or the plans that the village had made. Everyone needed something to look forward to and focus on, a happy occasion to wash away the fear and bloodshed that had marred the Solstice celebrations.
Madam Gina has suggested Disting, but it had all seemed too soon, some houses were still being rebuilt and their was a rawness to the the village that didn’t feel right. So Loki had suggested waiting, just a few weeks, maybe a month, until true spring was arriving with its more palatable weather. Then you’d be at your brightest, he was sure. If you could appear radiant in the Avengers medical wing, he couldn’t wait to see how you shone in the open air, the warming sun dancing in your hair and the flowers bowing at your feet.
The weather was just as Loki predicted, there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky, lending the day the perfect spring feeling of bright sun and crisp air.
Loki was already awake, pottering around downstairs and singing to himself as usual, so you allowed yourself a moment of quiet. Stretching like a cat in the patch of sun that slanted across the bed, you looked at your ceremonial dress, hung on the outside of the wardrobe to stop it creasing.
It was a dark blue, in your own colours, with silver threads woven in to it. Madam Gina and the other village elders have made it themselves, weaving the story of your victory over Bres and the Vanir into the hems, as well as the story of your love for Loki. Yggdrasil was depicted over your heart, as well as Loki’s own symbol, the cross of your mother and a white calf.
Yet there was space for more stories and they had taken great pleasure in showing you all the places they could include further victories and tales, although you’d had quite enough battles and heroism for an entire godly lifetime.
You had planned to summon your cloak and spear when the time came, still unsure of where they actually were whenever you didn’t need them. You’d asked Loki once but he’d waved his hand in that way that said gods didn’t bother themselves with such worries, so you decided not to worry either.
“Are you awake, darling?” The man himself poked his head into the bedroom, hair mussed and beaming with excitement. “I brought you breakfast!”
He nudged the door open further, revealing a wooden tray laden with toast, scrambled eggs, a coffee pot and two mugs.
“Loki you didn’t have to do all this!”
“Of course I did!” He snuggled back into bed, setting the tray down between you and pouring a cup of coffee. “It’s not every day your betrothed becomes a goddess.” He lifted your hand then, kissing your hand and then turning it over to kiss your wrist as well. “I’m so proud of you, my Asynja.”
“I haven't actually done anything.” You insisted, laughing before taking a bite of your eggs and toast, heavenly as always.
“If you say so, darling.” He took a sip of coffee, eyes glinting with mischief.
The morning passed in a blur of people and activity. Jane came round to help you get ready as well as Gertrud, who ran the hair salon, to make sure you looked perfect. It was far too stressful to think about, so you closed your eyes and focussed on their chatting as they got you ready.
Before you knew it you were coiffed and made up to perfection, the dress sitting perfectly on every curve and dip of your body, floating out around you.
“We have to go now,” Jane said, checking her watch, then her phone, then her watch again. “I really hate to leave you but I have to -”
“No, no it’s fine, you go. Thank you Jane, Gertie, I really appreciate it.” Tears were welling in your eyes and you weren’t sure why, you tipped your head back so they wouldn’t spill and ruin your makeup, but then you found yourself wrapped in their arms and you laughed. “I’m just so grateful!”
“Don’t be silly,” Gertie laughed, “look I have to go too, we’ll see you out there.” She gave you a wide smile and surveyed her work one last time, “perfection! Let’s go Jane, I’ll help you do your hair.”
“What’s wrong with my hair?” Jane patted her head as she left and Gertie looked back at you, rolling her eyes.
Loki met you outside of the door, dressed in his full ceremonial regalia, he looked ever taller than normal. His curved horns bent out from his temple where his usually wild hair had been tamed back neatly. The emerald leather on his tunic flared to his narrow waist, but his trousers hid nothing and he smirked as you let your eyes drift down and back up.
“Are you ready, my darling?” He held his elbow out to you, one eyebrow raised, and you placed a shaking hand on his arm.
The way to the Long House had been scattered with petals, guiding you along their fragrant path. You’d imagined the village would probably want to celebrate your ascension, especially after such a difficult winter, but you hadn’t expected the children to be lining the streets and throwing petals and confetti at you.
“Is this the ascension or the wedding?” You whispered to Loki, who was beaming proudly, waving at the children and allowing a few to take his other hand and walk with you a few steps.
“Maybe I’m letting the children try out some suggestions, so that our wedding may be even more spectacular.” His eyes met yours, his usual mischief glinting in his irises and you smiled back, unable to contain your joy.
Outside of the Long Hall a small stage had been built complete with a throne of flowers draped in blue and silver fabric. It sat alone and as Loki handed you up the stairs you longed for him to stay.
You stood, looking out at the village that held so many memories, the quay where both you and Loki had been taken, The Dog and Bilgesnipe, where you’d spent many evenings with friends. The cliffs and houses, shops and school. The smiling faces of the Asgardians and their fellow travellers, all welcome and safe within the harbour. Truly a home.
Brunnhilde joined you on the stage, taking your hand and then pulling you into a tight embrace before whispering, “you can sit down, you know,” into your ear.
With one last squeeze you let her go and sat on the throne, stomach churning with nerves.
Thankfully, Brunnhilde took centre stage, raising her arms to quite the clapping of the crowd.
“Welcome to the ascension of our Lady Estrid. We will bear witness to your ascension to the realm of the gods and discover how you will watch over us, the Asgardian people, as our warrior.” The crowed cheered again and your mouth went dry, what would happen if you just threw up and ran off the stage?
You will not be ill, my darling, you are strong, a proven warrior, and warriors do not lose their breakfast during ceremonies.
Loki’s voice was soothing, but your chest felt hollow.
My mother told me that, the first time I had to attend a council meeting.
You smiled and thought back to your returning memories of Loki as a youth, his shock of black hair in the golden halls, his nervousness. If that nervous boy could ascend and become a powerful god and sorcerer, then you could too.
Head held high you smiled at Brunnhilde as she welcomed Madam Gina onto the small stage.
“Our village elders have kept the knowledge of this sacred rite, we thank the elders for their wisdom and their guidance.”
Madam Gina gave you a small smile, warm and kind as always, before patting your shoulder. “Young Estrid, I have had the pleasure of overseeing your education while on Asgard with my Princely charges, I offer you now a Golden Apple of Idunn, a precious Asgardian gift, to aid in your ascension.”
The village drew in a collective breath, you’d read about these apples as a fairy tale. They kept the gods young and youthful, but you were also under the impression that Loki’s antics had stopped that centuries ago.
“But-”
“Here, my dear,” Madam Gina withdrew a pairing knife from the folds of her tunic and cut a thick slice. “As you eat, you will allow your power to fill your body. When the apple is finished, rise as the Goddess you are.”
The apple was delicious, spiced of its own flavour and perfectly crisp. Brunnhilde cut the next slice, then Jane, Thor and finally Loki approached, his own knife appearing in a flourish of magic, and fell to one knee at your feet.
“My darling,” he smiled, cutting the last chunk into two. He held them out to you on his palm and they tasted even more delicious than the first slices.
As soon as you finished you felt a swell of magic, your beloved fiery cow, Ymir, who had returned to you after your battle, appeared from behind the throne, blazing white hot and danced around the stage, blossoms of flame drifting in her wake. Loki took your hand and helped you to rise, the apple sitting heavily inside of you.
“Allow your magic to flourish, my darling, my Asynja, it is no longer the time to hold back.”
Perhaps you were going to be sick instead, the roiling of your stomach building, cramping.
Brunnhilde stood to your left and took your free hand, squeezing, and looked at Loki with a nod.
“May I present to you, Princess Estrid, daughter of Brigid, beloved Warrior and Consort of Asgard and the Goddess of -”
It was like a lightning strike, the sun flared before the world fell dark, you dropped Loki and Brunnhilde’s hands, falling to the ground.
“Darling?” Loki had his hand on your back not a moment later, “are you injured?”
“Estrid?” Brunnhilde shook your shoulder to try and get a response.
Around you the crowed went eerily silent until - “what’s that?!”
You felt stiff, heavy, but you looked up at the dark sky anyway. Lightening cracked but instead of moving towards the earth it moved horizontally, lighting up the sky and revealing a haze of green and blue branches beyond.
“Yggdrasil!” Madam Gina shouted, falling to her knees, “Yggdrasil lives!”
“Asynja?” Though you were curled into yourself, Loki still sought your hand, pulling it free of the folds of tulle and silk that made up your skirts.
“Loki, what’s happening?”
He wasn’t looking at the sky, or even at your face, he was looking at your other hand.
“Open your palm, darling.” Loki’s long fingers brushed against your own, opening your clenched fist and revealing a perfect silver leaf. As soon as it was free a line shot out, branching and twisting, more leaves, flowers, stems, it got thicker and thicker, reaching up to the sky until it joined the tree of life, tugging at you.
Madam Gina was openly sobbing, holding her hands out to the sky and whispering her thanks. The rest of the crowd was silent in shock but Loki stood again.
“The Princess Estrid, Goddess of Life and Rebirth, saviour of Tonsberg and Yggdrasil!”
As if broken from a spell the crowd cheered and roared, rushing up to the little stage and throwing their arms around you.
You were home.

This had to be a joke.
Not only had you been given the ridiculous assignment of “accompanying” the newest member of the Avengers, the so-called God of Mischief, to Finland. Not only did you know it wasn’t accompaniment, it was actually babysitting, because despite Thor’s intense insistence that his brother be given this chance at redemption, the rest of the team still didn’t quite trust him yet.
Not only were you sure that this mission was just busy work - a way to simultaneously keep Loki distracted, and away from the prying eyes of the American government and media. And not only had this man single handedly usurped your rise from common S.H.I.E.L.D. agent to the next member of the Avengers, because the dungeons on Asgard were just too cruel for the precious Prince…
But now, there was only one bed left in this entire goddamn inn.
The sweet old woman checking you in apologized profusely when she broke the news, and you just stood there, silently fuming and clenching your jaw so hard your teeth would be aching for days. Truthfully, you should have known better - it was only four days before Christmas; how could you forget that it was technically a holiday, and that millions of people around the world would be traveling for leisure right now?
Maybe it was just because you couldn't recall the last time you'd taken a vacation, or the fact that you hadn’t spent a holiday with loved ones in years. Or maybe you’d been cursed somehow - most likely by the man standing next to you, with an infuriatingly charming grin on his face.
“Please don’t worry about it, my dear, we’ve just had quite a long day of traveling,” Loki gently assured the woman, reaching for her hand as she all but cowered in fear at your palpable rage. She seemed to relax as Loki soothed her, and you hated that it was him covering for your negative attitude instead of the other way around. “My fiancé - she’s just a bit old fashioned, and she wants to wait until marriage, you see...”
The woman smiled as if he was describing kittens snuggling together on a cold and rainy evening, and you were this close to absolutely losing your temper; he was already deviating from your mutually agreed upon cover story, that you were simply colleagues traveling to the Muotkatunturi Wilderness Area on a research trip, and he intentionally chose his own cover story to replace it - one that was designed to deliberately piss you off.
You knew Loki could feel the anger radiating off your skin, and he turned towards you with a smile of his own as he continued to act as your doting fiancé. “And I’m determined to make that a reality. I promise, I’ll be fine sleeping on the floor, alright, darling?”
He slipped his arm around your waist and pulled you closer, his emerald eyes shining as he surely relished in your discomfort. You tried to focus on that, on how angry you were at him about everything - instead of his warm embrace, or how inviting his scent was.
“Well, you’re in luck. We’ve got the most comfortable floors in all of Rovaniemi!” the woman laughed as she returned to filling out the guestbook.
It was humiliating, but it seemed as though you had no choice. You let out a heavy exhale, deciding it would be easier to just go along with his story and get this interaction over with as quickly as possible. Your only saving grace was that this was temporary - soon this reconnaissance mission would be over, and sooner or later Loki would ruin the good graces of Tony and Steve and be sent back to the dungeons on Asgard.
But until then, you were going to have to find a way to make him pay for all of this later on.
“There’s my girl. Always the brave little soldier,” he purred softly, leaning down as if he was going to kiss you. Your eyes widened in panic, desperately fighting the urge to push him away and possibly punch him in his handsome face, but Loki caught the hint and quickly looked the other way.
You turned your attention back to the front desk as the woman fiddled with the paperwork, and a group of figurines for sale caught your eye, nestled among the garland and twinkling lights. A wicked grin crept across your face as you nudged Loki’s ribs unplayfully. “Look, dear - they’ve got some Odin statues for sale. Shall we buy some to hand them out with our Christmas gifts this year?”
Loki’s gaze slowly descended into madness, and you cheered silently once you were sure you’d gotten under his skin. His jaw tightened, along with the hand pressed against your ribs, but the woman smiled happily, unaware of just who she was talking to.
“Ah, yes - these make excellent souvenirs!” the woman laughed as she picked up one of the figurines, admiring the wood carving with a loving eye. “Did you know that the myth of Santa Claus is based partially on the myth of Odin - and that it all started right here in Rovaniemi?”
“Oh, I had no idea!” you lied, almost giddy with how much this was going to piss Loki off. “Could you tell me more about that? I find Norse mythology to be just fascinating…Of course, that pesky God of Mischief certainly leaves a lot to be desired, wouldn’t you say?”
She opened her mouth to answer, clearly very pleased that someone was finally so interested in her offerings, but Loki quickly interjected with barely contained rage. “Actually, if you could just focus on retrieving our room key now, I’d really appreciate it.”
“What is the God of Mischief’s name? Loki, or something like that?” you continued with absolute delight, slipping your arm around his waist the way he’d done while teasing you. “Pretty ridiculous name, if you ask me. Thor’s name is so much more elegant…”
“Well, it’s funny you should mention that. The name Loki actually means - ”
“The keys! Now. Please,” Loki snapped as he yanked your arm away, gripping your wrist so hard you were sure it was going to leave a bruise. That was definitely going in your mission report once you’d returned to Stark Tower.
The woman faltered briefly, clearly not expecting the charming man to shift his attitude so abruptly, but she reluctantly obliged and began rummaging around in a drawer for a set of room keys.
“You’ll have to excuse my fiancé, m’am…He just doesn’t believe in all that Norse mythology nonsense, even though I think it’s super interesting…” you smirked as Loki stewed with indignation. “But it’s just this one night that you have to endure the tall tales of Norse mythology, and then we’re off to Inari in the morning…aren’t we, sweetheart?”
The sweet old woman furrowed her brow as she pulled the last set of keys from the drawer and extended them over the counter. “Oh, didn’t you hear about the blizzard arriving tonight? They’re saying it’s the storm of the century. I doubt you two will be going anywhere for a while.”
Loki’s face fell alongside yours, and you both turned to the woman with matching grimaces. “I beg your pardon?”
⊱ ─ ༓ ── ⋅•⋅⊰ ─ ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ∙ ⋅ ─ ⊱⋅•⋅ ── ༓ ─ ⊰
Your mood quickly soured by the time Loki led the way upstairs to your room; of course there was a blizzard incoming, and of course it would mean you were trapped here longer than anticipated with the most inconsiderate man alive. He took the stairs two at a time, leaving you behind to struggle with your luggage, while his belongings were no doubt stored easily inside that stupid pocket dimension of his.
If just one more thing went wrong on this trip, you feared you might actually lose it - consequences be damned.
By the time you made it down the hallway to the door of your room, Loki was casually leaning against the wall with his arms folded across his chest and a brooding expression on his face. If you didn’t hate him so much, it would have been a beautiful sight to behold.
“Hey, thanks for offering to help,” you called out sarcastically as you made your way over to him. “I’m absolutely shocked by how thoughtful and courteous you are.”
Loki scoffed and pushed himself off the wall as he pulled the key out of his pocket. “I could have just gone inside and left you wondering which door was ours. You should be grateful I didn’t.”
“Aww, is someone a little mad that I made him think about Odin?” you taunted, enjoying the way he tensed up again at the sound of his father’s name.
“No, it was just foolish. Do not make that mistake again…”
The door swung open and you rolled your eyes as you followed him inside. “Are you threatening me?”
Loki whipped around with barely restrained fury as soon as the door closed. “We’re meant to be under cover here, yes? So do you really think it’s a good idea to be throwing around my actual name just to infuriate me?” he snapped angrily, eyes blazing and fists clenching at his sides.
Your stomach did a flip in your abdomen, and you struggled to maintain an air of defiance as he continued. “You don’t know who anyone is here, or who could be listening to our conversations. So keep your mouth shut if you don’t want us to be discovered! Am I being clear?”
You nodded meekly, because that was all you could manage while kicking yourself. He was right, you were being foolish and forgetting the true purpose of this trip. Hydra could easily have eyes and ears everywhere, and if you kept pissing Loki off, he might not be inclined to save you if necessary.
And you hated that it might be necessary, because he was a literal God with infinite magic at his disposal, while you were just a fallible little human that he absolutely despised.
As Loki turned away and started pulling the drapes shut, you distracted yourself with examining the room you’d been given. Three large windows took up the entire outside wall of the room, and on either side of the lone queen-sized bed were two end-tables, each with a dark green lamp providing the only light to the room. A stone fireplace sat on the opposite side of the bed, decorated with greenery and frosted miniature Christmas trees, and a tiny wooden desk and chair were the only other pieces of furniture in the room.
It was definitely cozy, even you couldn’t deny that, but that just made it worse. In any other circumstances, you might have enjoyed this break; but the Christmas decorations just reminded you of how alone you were, and Loki’s presence only reminded you of how unnecessary you were.
And it was already starting to get uncomfortably cold inside the room. Just before Loki yanked the last curtain closed, you caught a glimpse of the snow outside; it had quickly transformed from light flurries into heavy sheets of frozen precipitation. You were in for a very cold, very long and lonely night, and daylight couldn't come soon enough.
A deep sense of dread settled in the base of your spine as you realized how long you might be trapped here with this narcissistic, self-important and delusional mockery of all the sacrifices you’d made to get to this point of your career.
You’d foregone relationships with family, friends and potential lovers to spend every waking moment either training your body or honing your skills, trying to prove your worth and dedication to keeping this world safe from anything that ever threatened it.
And the planet’s most recent threat, the reason for the Avengers’ very existence, was making himself busy pulling pillows and blankets off the bed to make his own on the hardwood floor. Loki was silent as he worked, and you couldn’t help but wonder if he was actually hurt by your teasing.
You hated it. You hated this - especially since you hadn’t expected to feel so badly about taunting him. Clearing your throat, you set your suitcase on the chair and pretended to look for something inside. “Look, I’m sorry about what happened before. I guess I’m just…on edge.”
“Why bother?” he replied coldly, and you didn’t know if it was because he wasn’t actually hurt, or if it was because he didn’t care that you were potentially sorry about hurting him. Either way, the dismissal stung.
You continued rummaging through the suitcase, anything to avoid looking at your roommate for the night. How long had it been since you’d shared such close quarters with another person? Had there been anyone since college? You already felt raw and exposed by the idea of falling asleep within the same four walls as another person; but at the very least, Loki was sticking to his word about sleeping on the floor and not in the bed with you.
“You’re not worried about the mission? Or the blizzard? Or the fact that we might kill each other at any moment?” you laughed nervously, hoping to at least break some of the tension.
Loki sighed. “This mission is a joke. The blizzard might be a problem, and yes - we might certainly try to kill each other…but none of that is cause for real concern - not to me, anyway.”
Your brow furrowed, and you turned to look at him; the God of Mischief was on his hands and knees, arranging pillows and blankets on the floor. It was an amusing sight, and you struggled to maintain focus. “Wait - you think this mission is a joke?”
He paused what he was doing, staring off into the distance with regret in his eyes as if he’d already said too much but couldn’t bring himself to stop. “Don’t think for one moment that I don’t know what this mission actually is…”
You rubbed your neck nervously, unsure of where he was going with this.
“I know how easily it would be for Stark to send in his machines to do this reconnaissance, and that the Scepter likely isn’t here. Obviously, I’d be the last person they’d ever want close to it,” Loki continued, pinching the bridge of his nose with his forefingers. “I know the others are probably on the other side of the world recovering it as we speak, and that this mission is completely pointless - hence, assigning you and I to it.”
Your heart sank as he spoke, knowing that he was probably right; that this mission was utterly pointless, that it wouldn’t advance you any further in your career. That the only thing this mission was going to lead to was meaningless and unnecessary frustration and pain for the both of you.
“I know what they - and you - don’t particularly like or trust me. And you have good reason not to.” Loki cast a tragic glance in your direction before quickly looking away again.
“So why are you here then? If you don’t want to be here, and if you don’t…” you trailed off, unsure if you should finish that thought.
Loki sighed and shook his head. “It…doesn’t matter,” he answered sadly, and your heart broke over the entire situation. You didn’t know what to say to make either of you feel better, and it was likely that nothing ever would.
“There. I think that’ll do nicely,” he announced pleasantly, abruptly changing the subject and rousing you from your pensive thoughts. You glanced over to see a grown man - a God, in fact - standing proudly over the neatly arranged pillows and blankets on the floor, and for a brief moment you couldn’t help but be amused by the sight - that is, until you noticed the state of your sleeping quarters for the foreseeable future.
“You stripped off most of the bed!” you protested angrily, examining the three paltry blankets left to keep you warm overnight.
“On the contrary - I stripped precisely half of the bed,” Loki replied as he began to remove his coat. “Of course, there’s a simple and quite easy way to double your warmth if you’re so concerned…”
“Absolutely not.” The words came out harsher than you’d intended, but even just sharing four walls felt way too close to him; sharing a bed was probably way more than you ever could handle.
“Fair enough. Shall I light a fire to keep us warm then?” Loki offered without skipping a beat, the sudden change in his tone giving you multiple rounds of whiplash. He stepped over to the fireplace to examine it, running his hands over the stone hearth’s arch before crouching next to the pile of logs.
How was he able to switch so suddenly, from profound soundness to being so thoughtful? You wanted to accept the kindness and be grateful for the change in tone, but all it did was put you on edge. You sat down on the bed and began to unlace your boots, still desperately trying not to look at him. “Don’t bother on my account,” was all the response you could manage.
The room was silent for a moment, and you could almost feel the gears turning inside Loki’s head as he tried to come up with something else to say. But why was he trying so hard? You had been counting on him retreating into himself the way he always did back at Stark Tower, or worst case - that he would be deliberately messing with you, making your life hell and again ruining your chances at proving yourself worthy.
You could feel his gaze boring into the back of your skull as your boots clattered to the floor. And when he still hadn’t tried to speak, you cautiously looked over your shoulder to him. “Was there something else you wanted?”
Loki sighed and let his eyes drift away as he shook his head. An expression of restrained exasperation crawled across his features as he made his way to the makeshift bed on the floor. “Nothing. I don’t need anything from you…”
Your brow furrowed and guilt poured into your veins with every step he took. But guilt about what? You weren’t friends. You owed him nothing. This was just a mission - nothing more, and nothing less. You opened your mouth to speak, but Loki was already laying down on the floor with his back to you, clearly uninterested in speaking anymore that night.
The room seemed colder after Loki withdrew. It was an odd, incredibly distracting feeling - one that you hadn’t ever prepared yourself for, and didn’t have the energy to explore at the moment. Sleep was calling out to you, beckoning you closer as it always did whenever the feelings all became too much.
It took so much effort to crawl underneath the three blankets on your bed, and you didn’t even bother changing out of your street clothes before cocooning yourself inside. You thought about everything in your life that had led up to this incredibly excruciating moment, all the choices you’d made and the pain you’d gone through.
All that sacrifice, and where had it gotten you?

Sleep did not come easy for you that night. Despite your body exhausted from travel and the gentle bed cradling your wearied soul, you laid awake far longer than you would have expected. So many thoughts flitting uncontrollably across your mind, so many shivers slipping along your frigid bones.
A cold draft seeped in through the seams of the windowsills as the snow poured down outside. You were still awake, curled up on your side with the blankets pulled tight around your narrow frame. Eyelids pulled shut and breath held cautiously, you struggled to keep from shivering too much as you imagined Loki on the floor.
He had to be colder than you were, and part of you wanted to ignore his possible discomfort. He deserved it, didn’t he? Maybe if he was more pleasant to be around, it wouldn’t have to be like this.
But another part of you hoped he’d be so uncomfortable that he’d ask to join you in the bed. Your thoughts returned to when he had slipped his arm around your waist earlier that evening, and you struggled to keep your heart rate in check. It was wrong, you knew it was so wrong because you were supposed to hate him, the villain who had terrorized New York City, and he was supposed to hate you, a simple mortal who was only good for kneeling.
“I know you’re awake.” His voice was a whisper, a small shadow in a room full of empty ones. You slowly opened your eyes, your pupils taking their time to adjust the dark and make out the furniture inside the room. You wanted to sit up, to peer out into the world and see if he looked any different on the floor.
“Can’t sleep. It’s too cold,” you murmured softly, barely able to even pull the blankets tighter around you.
Loki sighed off in the distance. “The power’s been knocked out by the storm, so the heating’s off.”
It was only then that you realized the bedside table lamps had gone out. Too busy retreating inside yourself, the only warm place you had left. “Oh. Hadn’t noticed.”
“I could light the fire now, if you’d like.”
No, you thought. No, that won’t do. That’s not what I want from you. “Why are you being so nice to me now?”
Loki stirred on the floor, presumably shifting underneath his blankets. He could be sitting up right now, looking at you in the dark and you wouldn’t ever know. “Some things are easier to say in the dark.”
You thought for a moment, wondering about how to beckon him closer without risking rejection, or your dignity. This shouldn’t happen; and yet, it never ever would in the light. “Then let’s stay in the dark.”
Loki didn’t respond, and silence descended upon the room again. You couldn’t stop the shivers tormenting your flesh, and your teeth clattered together as you waited for a response. This time, you were sure you were going to freeze to death, despite burning in the waiting, and yearning, and longing that rolled up and down your spine.
“But where there’s light…there’s heat,” Loki finally answered. His voice was closer, much closer now; he’d stood up, and maybe he was right next to the bed. Could you reach out and touch him? Should you?
“I’m doing just fine in the cold.”
Loki chuckled, and you felt the blankets pull away as the mattress dipped under his weight. “You shouldn’t lie to the God of Mischief, dear,” he whispered softly as he settled in behind you, curling his knees behind yours and brushing his nose against your ear.
His body was so very warm, and you were aching for his touch. “I think it’s only fair. You came to my bed, and left your blankets on the floor…” you sassed, unable to help yourself.
“You want me to retrieve them?” Loki’s voice carried the slightest hint of mockery as he started to pull away. You panicked and grabbed his hand, eagerly pulling his arm back around your waist.
“So fussy…” he murmured with a smile, his voice hot against your neck as he settled in to spoon you once more. “You want heat, but not light. You hate me, but you want me close…”
You melted in his arms, and forced out a soft, defiant sigh. “You have no idea what I want…”
“And you do?” He matched your sigh with one of his own, and pressed his hand flat against your stomach, moving languidly over the fabric of your many shirts and jackets. You could feel how much he wanted to move his hand upwards to more stimulating areas, and it was so very thrilling.
“So what do you want, hmm? Why did you tell the innkeeper we were engaged, when that wasn’t our planned cover story?” you whispered, shifting your hips and ass against his crotch.
Loki swallowed a deep groan, and you could feel your own arousal beginning to coat your inner thighs. His hand latched onto your hip, but he didn’t stop you from moving.
“Was it just to piss me off, or was it because you wanted to pretend it was true?” you continued, shifting back against him and hoping the movement would cause your clothing to reveal a little bare skin.
“The…first option. Obviously…” Loki whispered, his lips grazing over the shell of your ear as his hips started to grind against yours.
You swallowed back a moan, trying desperately to ignore his hardened length against the swell of your ass. “Which one of us is the liar now?”
“Gods, do you ever stop talking?!” he hissed as he began rummaging underneath your jacket, eagerly searching for bare skin as he pulled your shirt upwards. His hand finally found your bare hip, and his touch was white hot as he began unbuttoning your jeans.
This time, you didn’t bother hiding the moan, and you twisted ever so slightly underneath the sheets to encourage him to keep going. Your heart beat frantically in your chest and your lips parted, intending to tease him one more time with the brattiest ‘make me’ ever spoken aloud…
And then his fingers dipped beneath the waistband to slip between your slick thighs.
The sound that tumbled from your lips was equally parts gasp and whimper as his fingertips grazed over your soaked clit, and his breath was heavy against your neck. “There we go. That’s more like it…” he whispered breathlessly, slowly dragging his fingers back and forth.
Your thighs drifted apart, as much as they could while trapped inside the unyielding jeans, and your hips rolled eagerly as he pressed harder against your clit. Heat flooded your veins, pooling beneath your cheeks and spilling out of your lungs as you whimpered for more.
Loki slipped his other arm around your shoulder, those fingers curling in your hair as his lips started to kiss and suck along your neck. “So sensitive…have you always been this wet for me?”
“Yes…” you moaned honestly, unable to deny it any longer. You’d say anything to make him keep going, to keep those delicate fingers pressing and massaging and coaxing endless satisfaction from you.
“That’s a shame. We could have been doing this the whole time then…” he groaned heavily, shuddering and sighing along as if he was getting as much pleasure out of this as you were.
“Oh, my god - Loki!” you gasped as he slipped a finger inside, slowly pushing and withdrawing it from your swollen, throbbing pussy. Your hips bucked with his movements, and your fingers curled around your clothing, desperately trying to pull and shift to give him more room to work.
Loki smiled against your neck, and brought his lips up to nibble on your earlobe as he added a second finger. “This feels good, doesn’t it? You’re enjoying what I’m doing to you?”
That familiar coil of release was beginning to contract inside your core, tighter than it ever had before. Frantic whimpers of ecstasy fell from your lips, unashamed and without second-guessing. With your eyes closed and your hips writhing, you moaned louder and louder as your climax approached.
“Careful, little one. Do you want the innkeeper to hear us breaking our vows of chastity?” he taunted in a low, thrumming voice against your ear.
“I don’t care, I don’t care! Just, please - keep going!”
Loki’s fingers moved faster still, skillfully and without hesitation, as if he was completely determined to bring you to Heaven himself. But just as the floodgates were about to open, just as you were about to come so very hard, he cruelly withdrew his fingers.
“What?! No!” Your eyes flew open in shock as the pressure receded and the coil in your belly began to loosen.
Loki gazed at you with a triumphant grin on his face, his emerald eyes blazing in the dark. “Maybe now you’ll be nicer to me…now that you know what I can do to you…” he murmured, bringing his fingers to his lips and sucking your arousal from them.
Your mind reeled uncontrollably, so furious and yet still so turned on by the pleasure he’d brought and subsequently taken from you. “I- I can’t believe you…Wh-why would you’d d-do this…?” you stammered, clumsily pushing yourself up to sitting.
Loki settled on his back, grinning from ear to ear as he watched you struggling to pull your jacket off. “Surely you can. But the real question is…what are you going to do about it, hmm?”
“Oh, my God, I hate you. I hate you so much,” you groaned as you finally freed the zipper and yanked the jacket off your frame. You stumbled out of the bed, thighs trembling violently as you worked to remove the rest of your clothing. You weren’t lying; you did hate him, but goddammit he was so alluring and you desperately needed to come.
Loki watched hungrily as you stripped the rest of your clothing away and climbed back onto the bed, settling yourself over his hips. “Well, this is certainly an interesting strategy,” he whispered as he curled a hand behind your neck and pulled your lips down to his.
You moaned deeply as you kissed him back, violently and passionately moving your lips and tongue with his. You eagerly rolled your bare pussy against his clothed hips, searching for any sort of friction and for a way to tease him more than he’d teased you, to make sure you wouldn’t be denied a second time.
He met your lips just as eagerly, groaning and moaning against your mouth as he moved his hands to cup your breasts, his thumbs brushing across your nipples and driving you mad with want. Your hands moved to his jacket, grabbing and struggling to align the zipper with the chain and be able to feel his skin directly against yours.
“Use your magic, undo your clothing…” you whispered frantically against his lips, unable to see or think clearly.
“Absolutely not. Show me how much you want me…” Loki hummed teasingly, shifting his hands downwards to grasp your ass and force you to roll harder against his hips.
You grinned, pleased with his words, and pulled back to sit upright on his hips. With your full weight pressing down, you rolled yourself harder against him, and his back arched in pleasure. When his jaw clenched tight and he rolled his hips with yours, you violently pulled the jacket zipper down and then ripped his shirt open.
“Oh, you are going to pay for that, minx!” Loki hissed angrily as shirt buttons went flying across the room. He pulled his hand away as if preparing to smack your ass, but you ignored it, leaned forward to take his nipple between your lips.
Loki moaned loudly as you sucked, flicking your tongue as he squirmed and writhed beneath you. His eyes closed and both of his hands returned to your ass, and you matched every one of his moans with some of your own. Vindication and pleasure rushed up and down your spine - and then he finally magicked his clothes away.
You found yourself pressed directly against the length of his throbbing cock, and you both moaned loudly in unison at the intimate contact. He wasn’t even inside you yet, but you couldn’t believe how amazing it felt already. You shifted to bury your face in the crook of his neck, breathing in his scent and basking in the warmth of his naked body as your hips gyrated together.
The blizzard outside was forgotten, the cold air nipping at your bare skin was no longer a concern, and in that moment you couldn’t remember why you ever hated him. He whimpered in your ear and wrapped his arms tightly around your waist as your hips writhed in unison, and soon that coil was wrapping itself around every fiber of your being again.
There was nothing anyone could do to stop you from coming this time; in fact, Loki actively encouraged you to keep going through a heated, growling voice. “Yes, take it from me. Let it all out, I’ve got you…” he commanded, his fingers pressing harder into your flesh.
The orgasm ripped through you, searing every nerve ending as you thrashed on top of him. Your fingers and toes curled beyond what you thought was ever possible, and your muscles kept tensing and relaxing, grinding and rolling in a desperate attempt to keep this pleasure flowing.
Loki held on tightly, groaning and gasping right along with you until you finally started to come back down. One by one your muscles relaxed until you lay limp, breathing heavily between parted lips on top of him. You were finally sated, with no thoughts passing through you any longer; maybe now you could finally fall asleep…
Satisfied that you had gotten yours - and the better of him - you started to roll away, but his arms tightened around your body, keeping you on top of him. “Oh, I don’t think so, darling. I’m not done with you yet…”
Your eyes fluttered back open as Loki adjusted your body on top of his, and before you could muster the strength to tease him again, he was pushing himself inside you. It felt incredible, like his body was molded to fit inside yours, and you couldn’t believe he’d somehow figured out what your favorite position was.
A deep whimper of pleasure was all you could manage as you took him in, his cock pulsating inside you and filling you entirely. Loki moved his hands back down to grip your ass as he began to thrust upwards, his thighs tensing and pelvis tilting to hit your sweet spot. You shifted your knees away from his hips and hovered above them as he drove himself into you over and over again.
Almost immediately you were on the verge of coming a second time, and you cried out his name as every nerve ending fired off in rapid succession. Loki’s thrusts were relentless as he came apart with you, his fingers digging into your flesh and hips bucking wildly and uncontrollably beneath you.
You clung to each other the entire time, your minds wracked with pleasure and bodies spent until you were both just panting and laying peacefully in each other’s arms. When clarity returned, you had no idea how to react; should you push him away? Should you say something rude? Was he going to beat you to either of those options first?
The deepest, most vulnerable part of you just wanted to stay there, lingering in the bliss you both had created with each other. You’d never had a partner this exquisite before, and you didn’t know what you were going to do when you returned home - let alone the next morning.
You nestled in against his chest and listened to the sound of his heart beating - steadily, calmly, peacefully. Loki kept his arms around you, and his fingers ran through your hair, gently massaging your scalp as he held you close.
“I’ve got a lot of amends to make,” Loki said quietly, his voice tinged with melancholy.
You blinked and cautiously brought your hand to his chest, placing it soothingly over his heart. “What do you mean?”
“Earlier you asked why I was here. I’ve got a lot of amends to make,” he repeated, placing his hand over yours. “For New York, for the pain I’ve caused my father and brother, for letting myself be - ”
Loki swallowed hard and shook his head, and could almost feel the regret swelling in his eyes. There was something important he wasn’t sharing; maybe he didn’t know how, or maybe he didn’t know if he could trust you yet. Something deep inside you longed to earn that trust, something you didn’t quite understand.
“You don’t need to say it if you don’t want to. But…I’d be willing to listen, whenever you are ready,” you replied sincerely, hoping he’d believe you. And then you continued on, to make a joke and hopefully lighten the mood. “First, though, I think we need to agree to a cease-fire. In the spirit of Christmas, and whatnot.”
Loki smiled and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “I knew you’d be the first one to concede…” he murmured playfully. “But I’m feeling generous. Let’s just call it a draw…”
Your mind reeled with possibilities, unsure of what to say that wouldn’t make anything worse or ruin the moment. “Really? I thought your hatred of me was permanent…” you answered cautiously.
Loki shifted his hand to gently grasp your chin, tilting your head to look at him. “I don’t hate you. You just…bewilder and confound me…”
His gaze was soft and warm, and it almost took your breath away. If he was this delicate with someone he found this irritating, how tender could he be with someone he actually loved? And could he ever actually love you someday?
You forced a smile, and traced his cheekbones with your fingertips, hoping he couldn’t read your thoughts. “I don’t know. Maybe all the teasing and insulting was what made this so good?” you murmured playfully.
Loki returned your smile, although there was a hint of sadness you couldn’t quite place etched upon his features. “I suppose we’ll see what happens in tomorrow’s light, won’t we?”

How the fuck did I miss these two?!
It's probably because I would have died not reading them both at once. That's the only explanation I have 🤣
The Feast [Asgard!Loki x Fem.Reader]
A follow up one-shot to Hail, Commander A Link to my Masterlist is HERE Summary: A filthy Commander Loki is ravenous post-battle. (w/c 1.7k) Warnings: 18+ Minors DNI. Smut. Oral (F), Salirophilia (dirty Loki) Exhibitionism. Language.
The approaching drums were deafened by a low roar from Loki’s throat as he came undone. It was harsh. Ragged. It was fierce. The rush of hot breath flooded your ear, carrying the syllables of your name on wings of relief. His grip on the cape wrapped around you both loosened as he rocked you; held against the sharp drop of the balustrade safely in his arms.
“My love…” you whispered against his moist, dirt soaked brow, as Loki panted heavily into the curve of your neck. He hummed drowsily in response, hips continuing a gentle thrust to the beat of the victory procession hundreds of feet below. The heat of your lovemaking had warmed the primal scent clinging to his scalp, its tendrils winding their way deeper into your senses. The first time he had returned from battle, it had disgusted you. For a moment, at least. But now, your body only wanted more. It meant victory. It meant glory. It meant days of violently passionate fucking while he shook off the animalism and barbarity of war. You ran your fingers through his tangled hair, crusted and clumped with the stale filth of battle. The scent of blood and sweat and death clung to your fingertips, a tacky residue holding fast as you worked your digits to the back of his skull. Hail, the fallen; the lone chanter cried, hundreds of feet below. His voice was soulful and solemn, misting around the high towers like summer pollen. Hail, the shuffling crowd reprised in a haunting hymn. You didn’t know if it was the adrenaline bubbling down in your blood after Loki had thoroughly claimed you, but they sounded louder now. Or maybe it was just the wind. Loki’s grip tightened around your thighs, sliding upwards. His thumbs pressed into the crooks of your pelvis, pushing your legs wider. Without raising his head, he sank to his knees; war-ravaged leathers creaking as layers of festering dirt and grime cracked. His hands settled around the pristine skin of your thighs, marking them instantly.
“Loki…” you whispered warily, glancing up to the guards standing to attention, their gazes fixed in a thousand yard stare. Hail, the deliverer; the dark victor; the faceless voice sang, soulful reverence bouncing between golden turrets which glinted in the setting sun. Hail, Loki. Hail; the crowd chanted like a prayer in the depths below the balustrade. “Loki…” you murmured again, as trumpets blew a regal tremor alongside the eerie thump of ceremonial drums. “The guards…” The victorious god chuckled against your skin before he slid his cheekbone firmly up your thigh, a possessive harshness glinting in his eyes. “I am their commander. They will do as I say.” he growled coldly, his stare never leaving yours. A muscle in his jaw bobbed as he clenched, a ferocious haze descending over his features. He turned a stained cheek to the side, the marr of slaughter and destruction smeared messily where he had rubbed against your leg. He placed a wet kiss on your knee before he spoke. “Guards! About turn.” he roared.
Your gaze fluttered from your betrothed to the dozens of Einherjar standing to attention against the columns lining the balustrade. In perfect synchronicity, each one turned in a tight semi-circle to face the interior walls. They thumped the base of their spears against the stone in receipt of their order, the cold clunk of metal making a wave of arousal flip in your stomach. His presence. His power. You had almost forgotten. Almost.
Loki’s fingers resumed their iron grip around your thighs, sliding the hem of the dress gathered around your hips higher. “I trust this satisfies you…” he murmured, the brilliant blues of his irises startling against the shadows of brutal deeds layering his face. You thrust forward, aching to feel him against you; letting your hands wander over the buckles of his armour.
The leather felt ragged beneath your touch; burnt and battered. You could feel the tacky stick of warmed blood beneath your fingertips; the proof of his violent prowess. “We can wait...until...after the feast.” you panted half-heartedly, feeling his cracked lips graze against your freshly cum-soaked folds. Loki looked up from between your legs, the heroic commander on his knees ready to devour your glorious pussy. You could feel his seed pooling in thick drips on the stone below. His eyes were wide, brows slanted in mock innocence. “Oh, love…” he purred darkly, as his softness melted to a mischievous smirk. “But I haven’t eaten in days.” The prince’s nose nudged against your slit, making you groan shamelessly above him. “You know how ravenous I become after the rage of battle, love.” he purred, smirking against your hot, wet cunt. “You would not deny your Commander. Would you?”
You shook your head silently, fingers gripping the side of the cold stone balustrade. Loki inhaled deeply, letting it go with a shuddering sigh. Without another word, his warm tongue melted to your core; licking a flat stripe which made you jerk against his face. The filthy god’s fingers wrapped around your calves, pausing to hoist them over his shoulders. The grime-coated gold of his armoured epaulettes slid against your bare skin; the chill making you buck into his open mouth. Your back arched against the glittering lights of Asgard; darkening skies illuminated by the ethereal glow of thousands of candles held in homage by grateful citizens below. Were they praying to the god kneeling between your splayed thighs? You hoped they were. Loki’s tongue slid in messy kisses against your sex, searching every soft pleasure point as he sucked his sacred cum from your centre. Muffled moans of pleasure sounded against your heat, his unfettered enthusiasm loud and wet against the rock of your hips. The naked curve of your ass scratched against filth-soaked leather as the god suckled your clit, moving in rhythmic swirls that coated your womanhood in waves of unbearable pleasure. Your lover leant you backwards so you hovered at an angle off the edge of the balustrade. Gusts of warm dusk air skated over your bristling skin, melting into the dangerous thrill of his obsession. Hail, the victorious dead; the bellman called below, a resounding chorus following the settling of his words; echoing in the night. Hail. The call made your pussy clench, sweet juices beginning to spill against Loki’s lips. He groaned wistfully, tightening his grip around your thighs hanging against his shoulders. You wound your hands in his hair, feeling the familiar resistant tug of crusted sweat and dirt which covered every war-drenched inch of him.
Hail, our Benevolent Protector. Our God. Hail. Your gaze lingered between your legs, the sight of his unmistakeable dark curls bobbing against folds of silk as he dove further sending waves of bravado through your veins. “Did you think of this while you slit the enemies throats, my prince?” you gasped, feeling him nod slowly against the methodical slide of his tongue. “Did you b-burn their world... and their hope... take their lives, uhhh g-gods... just to feast on the pussy you c-crave?” you murmured, seeing a violent shiver roll over his broad shoulders as he moaned in response.
His nose slid into view as he leant back ever so slightly. He knew when you were watching. He always did.
Slowly, Loki licked from the pucker of your ass to your clit, the width of his tongue hovering against the swollen bundle as he lapped gently. The flat massaged the underside, every soft, soaked caress accompanied by a deep groan simmering in his throat. “Did you...f-fuck...miss the taste of me?” you whimpered, seeing him nod again with his brow creased in shameless adoration. The pressure of his talented mouth latched to your sex was incomparable; a light wind rustling against your shoulder-blades making it feel primordial. And perhaps it was. You caught a glimpse of your blackened inner thighs as he dipped lower, grime marks from the slide of his skin and the rub of his hair making you as filthy as he. The unspeakable paint of war coating his sharp cheeks and chin rubbed against your swollen sex, eagerly disappearing in messy slurps down the god’s throat as he lost himself between your spread thighs. Loki could feel you beginning to shake against him as you tried to control yourself, a smirk tugging at his dimples as he put on a show. Relishing you falling apart like foam on the shore beneath his tongue. If there was one thing Loki of Asgard loved more than public adulation, it was giving head. You let out a shameless moan as the low blow of trumpets sang beneath the balustrade, a fervent hum from the citizens now gathered in the square below accompanying the conclusion of the traditional victory prayers. Hail, Commander. the bellman roared; the final steps of his journey giving new gravitas to the most sacred chant. Hail, the crowd refrained. Their intensity rose like a wave of heat, wisping against the back of your hair as your head fell back.
“Do you w-want me to..uhhh-fuck, cum in your m-mouth, Commander?” you gasped between shaky breaths. A loud moan shuddered through you as Loki rumbled against your wet slit, a whine of need bubbling on his lips. You wound one hand through his blood-crusted hair, the other clutching tightly around the ledge of stone beneath your ass. A surge of power vibrated as you pressed the commander deeper into your pussy, his searching tongue curling inside your channel as you rocked against his face. How many women in the streets below would slay their own grandmother for what you had between your legs this very moment? And many men, too; you’d wager.
Loki’s grip tightened around your femurs as he smothered himself. He shook his smooth jaw slowly back and forth, teasing every aching inch of protracted pleasure from your approaching orgasm. He would be soaking. The dulled shine of his battle-leathers glinted in the torchlight, dark stains of brown and red and black sliding easily from his armour to your fresh, perfumed skin. Hail, our Victorious Commander; came the final forceful shout; as violently clear as though the man the voice belonged to was standing by your shoulder. Hail, Commander. Hail; the crowd roared in unison. There was a rapturous cheer as the drumbeats quickened, signalling the arrival of the procession to the main square of Asgard set below the balustrade. Loki’s tongue delved deeper against your cunt, his carefully timed laps burrowing against the source of your undoing. You bucked into him, his name a strangled cry in your throat as you tugged gently at tangled curls. Fingernails dragged down the leather of his overcoat, feeling a layer of enemy blood gathering beneath them. With a final twisted groan, you came over his waiting tongue. Hot arousal flooded his mouth, a welcoming sigh of pleasure sounding from the leader of Asgard's victorious forces as you rocked against his face. Loki could spend hours buried in your cunt; although tonight you suspected you would not be afforded that luxury. “Commander?” a low voice muttered nervously. Your eyes snapped up in alarm, seeing a young guard trembling to your side – facing away from the scene. Had he walked backwards towards the two of you? You thought he must have, if he valued his life. Loki was still lost in your heat, carefully gathering every drop of your cum with fastidiously gentle precision. Your fingers ran lovingly under his chin, cupping the angle of his jaw. His sex-drunk eyes rose to yours, stare hardening as he finally registered the unwelcome figure off to the side. “What?” he spat incredulously, not deigning to rise from where he was spread on his knees in full battle armour on the stone before you. The guard cleared his throat. “Majesty, I am bound to ask you to make your way to the feasting hall. The Allfather impatiently awaits your glorious return, Commander” Loki sighed. “Go.” he ordered bluntly, watching with growing amusement as the terrified guard hurried away without looking back. He lowered your legs from his shoulders, rising regally to his full height. Flickering lamplight illuminated his ghostly features, a glistening slick shimmering around his mouth and jaw revealing his familiar perfectly fair skin beneath the dirt. His lower face. It was the only part of him that was clean.
You closed your legs reluctantly, taking the hand of the victorious god and standing from your perch on the balustrade. The silk of your dress fell against your newly dirt-smeared legs, the folds of antique fabric stained with the same unspeakable remnants of battle as your lover. As your Commander. “It’s incredibly obvious that you have been busy on your return, my prince.” you smirked, biting your lip as you regarded his increasingly dishevelled state. If it were possible, he was even more of a mess than before. Loki chuckled, flicking his tangled hair as the new layer of saliva and cum settled against his war-worn features. “My love, it is us...” he purred, raising your hand and turning it over. He set a kiss down on the delicate underside of your wrist, the cracked sheet of grime covering his beautiful face doing nothing to hide the mirth playing beneath it. “They would not expect anything less.”
A/N: Thank you @simplyholl for being absolutely feral the night she read Hail Commander and immediately hitting me up with this mental image. A Christmas to Cherish, A Yule to Remember l L. Laufeyson
summary : When tasked with organizing a holiday cultural exchange between Midgard and New Asgard, you face clashing traditions and unexpected connections. To foster goodwill, you plan a hybrid celebration that blends Christmas with Yule, inviting world leaders and dignitaries to experience Asgard's unique customs. However, hosting off-worlders, especially a skeptical Loki, proves challenging. His sarcasm only more adds tension as sparks begin to fly between you, testing your growing connection. As Yule and Christmas traditions collide, an unexpected kiss under the mistletoe might just be the season's most surprising twist.
pairing : Loki Laufeyson x f!reader
warnings : tooth-rotting fluff, mutual pining, cultural clashes, emotional vulnerability, sarcastic banter, mild angst with eventual heartwarming fluff, some hurt/comfort, teasing, suggestive flirtation, references to holiday traditions, references to norse lore and traditions.
word count : 18.3k
author's notes : Ho ho ho! You didn’t think I would pass up the chance to write an Asgardian Christmas story, did you? I admit, I may have gone a bit overboard with this fic. What can I say? Santa’s spirit inspired me greatly. Well, this and jschlatt's christmas album.
Like my first ever Loki fic, this is loosely connected to the A Tales Of series (though in an AU way?) but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. This narrative is somewhat like a Hallmark movie, but let’s be honest: who would turn down a feel-good story, especially featuring our dear god of mischief?
As Gossip Girl once said, have a holly jolly Christmas, xoxo.
(ao3 version)
The snow-dusted village of New Asgard glimmered under the pale light of a crisp winter morning. Nestled along the rugged Norwegian coast, the settlement was a patchwork of old-world Asgardian charm and Midgardian practicality. Wooden houses stood sturdily against the biting wind, their roofs lined with faint traces of frost. Small boats bobbed gently in the harbor, and the faint hum of activity filled the air as Asgardians went about their lives. For you, this place was no stranger—it felt like stepping into a world both ancient and familiar, a realm that had become something of a second home.
Your arrival this time lacked the fanfare of your first visit. You stepped out of the rumbling helicopter onto the cobblestone square, the crunch of your boots against the frosty ground drawing a few curious glances from passersby. You adjusted the scarf around your neck, the chill of the air biting your cheeks as you scanned the familiar faces awaiting you. Your attire was both practical and stylish: a dark wool coat cinched at the waist accompanied by equally dark thigh stockings and combat boots, a deep burgundy scarf, and black gloves to ward off the cold.
Ever the picture of poise and authority, Brunnhilde stood at the forefront, her arms crossed and a knowing smirk playing on her lips. She wore a sleek leather jacket lined with fur, a modern touch to her otherwise warrior-like appearance. Beside her was Thor, his golden locks catching the sunlight as he waved enthusiastically, clad in a thick knit sweater that somehow managed to look regal, and slightly behind them, Loki, who looked as though he’d rather be anywhere else but here. Dressed in a dark green cloak over his tailored Asgardian tunic, his expression was one of perpetual exasperation.
“Well, if it isn’t our favorite Midgardian diplomat,” Brunnhilde called out, her voice carrying easily over the chatter of the square. “Welcome back, sweet cheeks.”
“Favorite? Or just the one who causes the most trouble?” Loki quipped, his tone dry as he adjusted his green-and-gold cloak. His sharp eyes lingered on you momentarily, taking in your wind-flushed cheeks and bright smile.
“Missed you too, Mischief,” you shot back with a grin, brushing past him to greet Brunnhilde with a brief hug.
Thor clapped a hand on your shoulder, nearly knocking you off balance with his exuberance. “It’s good to see you again, Lady [Y/N]! Come, you must be freezing. We’ve prepared a feast worthy of a returning friend.”
“I’m sure it’s as subtle as ever, big guy,” you teased, raising a brow. As you followed them towards the grand longhouse, you turned to Thor, a hint of curiosity in your eyes. “I thought you’d be off-world with the Guardians of the Galaxy. What brings you here?”
Thor shrugged, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips. “Even the god of thunder needs a break, and what better place to rest than home? Besides, someone has to make sure these two don’t kill each other.”
“That’s reassuring,” you said dryly, earning a chuckle from Brunnhilde. “But I’m not here just for feasts. There’s a little diplomacy to be done too, remember?”
The newly appointed Allfather led the group toward the longhouse that served as New Asgard’s central hub. “We wouldn’t dream of letting you forget your duties. Though, knowing Thor, he might try to bribe you with ale and roasted boar.”
“Would it work?” Thor asked, grinning as he held open the door.
Inside, the longhouse was warm and inviting, its timber walls adorned with carvings that told stories of Asgardian history. Intricate designs of Asgardian history and the nine realms stretched across the beams, illuminated by the flicker of firelight. A large hearth roared at the center of the hall, its heat radiating outward and mingling with the smell of spiced mead and freshly baked bread. You let the warmth seep into your bones, feeling a sense of comfort you rarely found elsewhere.
You took a seat at the long wooden table, its surface polished to a high shine, the grain of the wood still bearing marks of its Asgardian craftsmanship. As you settled around the long wooden table, the conversation shifted naturally, the camaraderie among them making you feel like part of the family.
“We’re honored you could join us again,” Brunnhilde said, pouring you a cup of mead. “Especially so close to your Midgardian holiday—what is it called again? Christmas?”
“That’s the one,” you confirmed, taking a sip of the sweet drink. “It’s a huge, worldwide deal here. Lights, trees, gifts, food—basically everything Thor loves, but with more glitter.”
Thor laughed heartily. “Glitter sounds like a fine addition to any celebration!”
“Hardly,” Loki muttered, his tone dripping with disdain. “Leave it to Midgardians to turn a perfectly good winter solstice into a gaudy spectacle.”
“Oh, come on,” you said, leaning forward with a playful smirk. “You’re telling me Asgardians don’t have their own version of an over-the-top winter celebration?”
Loki exchanged a look with Thor, who chuckled sheepishly. “We do,” the blonde admitted. “It’s called Yule. But it’s not quite as… excessive as your Christmas. It’s more about tradition—feasting, storytelling, honoring the turning of the seasons. We celebrate every five years, given our longer lifespans.”
“Every five years?” you repeated, your brows lifting in surprise. “That’s… really long and sad to hear.” You mulled over the information before your eyes lit up as you sat straighter, as if struck by lightning. “Hey, I’ve got an idea. The United Nations and New Asgard have been strengthening ties through mutual aid, cultural exchange programs, and even security. But diplomacy shouldn’t just be treaties and meetings—it needs moments of connection. What better way than inviting emissaries from Midgard to experience Yule with you?”
Thor beamed, slapping the table. “Now that’s an idea worthy of Asgard!”
Loki’s scoff was almost immediate. “Ah yes, because what we need is another excuse for Thor to hang glittering baubles everywhere.”
“Don’t tempt me, brother,” Thor replied, his grin widening.
Ignoring Loki’s grumbling, you pressed on. “I’m serious. Think of it: world leaders, ambassadors, and cultural experts all coming together to witness your traditions while sharing ours. It’s symbolic—a reminder that Earth is now your home too. It’ll also facilitate recognition of your country’s borders from the neighboring countries, and God knows how much you need it for the UN to get off your asses.”
Brunnhilde nodded thoughtfully. “It would certainly help foster goodwill. But it’s not without its challenges. Hosting off-worlders isn’t exactly simple. Though organizing something like this would take effort. And volunteers.”
“I’ll handle the logistics,” you offered. “We’ll make it a hybrid celebration—Christmas and Yule, blending the best of both worlds. Think of it as creating a new tradition for New Asgard. We have three weeks at most for this, I’m sure we’ll manage to come up with something nice.”
Loki let out a soft, sarcastic laugh. “How charming. Perhaps we can also write jingles to serenade these dignitaries.”
Thor, however, seemed genuinely excited. “Brother, you must admit—this could be grand event. We can show Midgard our hospitality while learning from them in return. You should participate with us, especially considering your probation status.” He said brightly, clapping his brother on the back.
Loki’s expression darkened immediately. “I will do no such thing.”
“Oh, don't be such a wet blanket,” you teased. “Think of it as a way to get back into everyone’s good graces. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to be doing?”
His sharp gaze met yours, and for a moment, the air between you seemed to crackle. “If I agree to this farce,” he said finally, his voice low and deliberate, “it will not be because you’ve managed to guilt me into it.”
“Of course not,” you replied sweetly. “It’ll be because you secretly enjoy a good challenge.”
Brunnhilde leaned back in her chair, smirking as she watched the exchange. “Well, it’s settled then. [Y/N], you’re officially in charge of Christmas diplomacy. But don’t expect Loki to be helpful.”
Loki sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose. “This will end in disaster.”
“Only if you let it,” you said, your tone light but your eyes sparkling with determination. “Besides, a little festivities never hurt anyone.”
“You’re delusional if you think this will go smoothly,” he retorted, earning a laugh from Thor and a pointed look from Brunnhilde.
As the conversation wound down, you couldn’t help but feel the excitement bubbling inside you. This was going to be a holiday unlike any other—a melding of traditions, cultures, and worlds.
⠀
The royal library of New Asgard was a marvel of timeless craftsmanship and quiet grandeur. Its towering, vaulted ceilings bore intricate carvings of Asgardian myths, the golden threads in their design shimmering faintly under the glow of enchanted lamps. Rows upon rows of towering bookshelves, brimming with ancient tomes and fragile scrolls, stretched upward as if reaching for the heavens. The air carried the faint scent of aged parchment and polished wood, a comforting reminder of centuries of preserved knowledge. Warm light illuminated the dark, ornately carved furniture, casting soft shadows that danced with a gentle flicker. It was a sanctuary of wisdom and serenity—and, at present, an arena of subtle conflict.
You sat at a large, circular table, its surface strewn with papers, notes, and an assortment of books ranging from Midgardian holiday traditions to Asgardian histories. You tapped your pen against the notebook in front of you, glancing across the table at Loki, who looked entirely unamused. He lounged in his chair, one leg crossed over the other, absently flipping through a book as if he couldn’t be less interested.
“This is supposed to be a brainstorming session,” you said, breaking the silence. “Not a sulking session.”
Loki didn’t look up, though the corner of his mouth twitched slightly. “I assure you, I’m doing neither. I’m merely tolerating this… exercise in futility.”
You raised an eyebrow, leaning forward slightly. “You mean the logistics for what could be one of the most culturally significant events New Asgard has hosted since its founding?”
“Culturally significant?” Loki echoed, finally looking up. His emerald eyes glimmered with amusement, though his tone remained dry. “You’re combining gaudy, Midgardian frivolities with centuries-old Asgardian tradition. Forgive me if I fail to see the ‘significance’ in that.”
“Excuse me—gaudy?” you repeated, mock-offended. “You say that as if Asgardians don’t have a penchant for drama and grandeur themselves. I’ve never seen more divas than you guys, actually.”
Loki smirked but said nothing, instead closing the book he had been flipping through with an exaggerated snap. He gestured to the pile of materials on the table. “Very well, enlighten me. Which Midgardian traditions are we meant to subject ourselves to this time? Ugly sweaters? Marshmallows floating in heated milk?”
You laughed, leaning back in your chair. “First of all, ugly sweaters are iconic. Secondly, you can’t tell me that enchanted ale or Thor’s thunderous feast presentations aren’t Asgard’s version of over-the-top. It’s practically the same thing.”
“That’s debatable,” Loki tilted his head, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “But I’ll concede that Thor’s idea of revelry is... boisterous. But at least our celebrations have history, tradition, and dignity—unlike your chaotic, candy-cane-laden spectacles.”
You narrowed your eyes playfully. “Oh, sure. Because nothing says ‘dignity’ like smashing a barrel of mead over someone’s head when you’ve had too much.”
He couldn’t suppress a chuckle, the rich sound echoing in the quiet library. “Touché. Still, I doubt you’ll find a single Midgardian festivity that rivals the elegance of an Asgardian Yule feast.”
“Well, then,” you said, leaning forward with a teasing glint in your eye. “Let’s make sure this one does. What do you say we blend the two? Grand Asgardian feast meets Midgardian charm.”
Loki tilted his head, narrowing his eyes as if studying you. “If we are to make this ‘blend’ of yours work, it will require proper execution. I refuse to let Midgardian cuisine overshadow Asgardian delicacies.”
You smirked, folding your arms across your chest. “Who said anything about overshadowing? I’m just saying the two can complement each other—if you don’t insist on being so stubborn about it.”
“I am simply being practical,” he countered, feigning offense at the remark. “Your realm’s fascination with things like marshmallow-topped casseroles is... baffling.”
“Okay, first of all, not every dish is like that,” you retorted with a laugh. “Secondly, maybe you just haven’t had the right Midgardian food. Let me handle it, and you’ll see.”
Loki leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms as a smirk tugged at his lips. “Very well. If you’re so confident in your culinary abilities, I’ll leave the Midgardian fare to you. But don’t expect me to lift a finger if it turns into a disaster.”
“Oh, I wouldn’t dream of asking you to,” you teased, your tone dripping with mock sweetness. “I’ll manage the Midgardian menu and decorations—after all, I’ve got experience with this sort of thing. And you can handle the Asgardian side of things. Deal?”
He regarded you for a moment, his emerald eyes gleaming with intrigue. “Deal. Though I expect nothing less than perfection on your part. Our reputation depends on it.”
“Funny, I was going to say the same to you,” you shot back with a grin.
Loki leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. “Then it’s settled. I’ll curate a feast that embodies the grandeur and tradition of Asgard. You... can figure out how to make your chaotic cuisine somewhat palatable.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t suppress your laughter. “Whatever. We need to make this event big enough to fund itself. That means inviting not just the locals but foreign envoys, dignitaries, and even some of the press.”
Loki’s eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of disapproval crossing his features. “Ah, commercializing a solstice celebration. How very... Midgardian of you.”
You shrugged. “Well, we don’t have unlimited resources. Unless you’d like me to request funds from the treasury—and deal with Val’s budget lectures?”
“Perish the thought,” Loki muttered.
“Exactly,” you said, smirking. “So, we’ll sell tickets for the main events and some of the smaller ones leading up to the big day. Maybe even have booths with crafts and snacks. People love that kind of thing. You’d be surprised how much they’ll pay for something with a story behind it.”
“Fascinating,” he said dryly. “You’ve turned a festival of tradition into a marketplace.”
“Don’t be dramatic,” you teased. “It’s just good planning. Besides, someone has to oversee the sales and ensure we don’t turn this into complete chaos.”
Loki arched a brow, his lips curving into a faint smirk. “And naturally, you’ve decided that someone is you?”
“Of course,” you replied with mock seriousness. “I happen to be very good at multitasking. I’ll handle the ticket sales, the booths, and the Midgardian side of things while you can focus on maintaining Asgardian traditions. A win-win.”
“Convenient,” he remarked, leaning back in his chair. “You delegate the tedious work to me while you run your little market empire.”
You grinned. “It’s called playing to our strengths, Loki. And besides, don’t pretend you’re not secretly thrilled to have complete creative control over the Asgardian portion.”
Loki chuckled softly, his gaze sharpening with intrigue. “Very well, but if I’m to oversee Asgardian traditions, you’ll have to prepare yourself for customs far richer—and far more theatrical—than your quaint Midgardian charm.”
“Like what?” you challenged, leaning forward.
“For instance,” he began, his voice slipping into a storytelling tone, “the Wild Hunt. A tradition led by Odin himself, where ghostly riders swept across the skies in search of lost souls. It’s a spectacle of power, mysticism, and awe. Imagine recreating it, with shadowed steeds and ethereal warriors galloping through the night.”
You blinked, your expression shifting between amusement and concern. “You mean you want to reenact something that, if I recall correctly, terrified Midgardians for centuries? Sounds... subtle.”
His smirk widened. “Subtlety is overrated. The Hunt would remind everyone of Asgard’s grandeur, a symbol of tradition and strength. Besides, it’s far more engaging than watching mortals sing around a fireplace.”
“Oh, speaking of fireplaces,” you interjected quickly, “what about the Yule log? That’s one tradition I can get behind. A cozy fire, some mulled ale—it’s charming.”
Loki rolled his eyes, waving a dismissive hand. “The Yule log is passable at best, but it pales in comparison to the Wild Hunt’s grandeur. Imagine thunder rolling in the heavens, spectral figures cutting through the sky, and Odin’s name whispered in awe.”
“Yeah, because holiday cheer is guaranteed by scaring the wits out of everyone,” you replied, crossing your arms. “How about this—we tone it down? Maybe we could turn the Hunt into something interactive, like a quest. A game for everyone, where they follow clues and complete challenges to ‘join’ Odin’s riders or uncover their secrets. It keeps the mystique but makes it fun rather than terrifying.”
Loki tilted his head, considering your suggestion. “An interactive quest... intriguing. It could preserve the spirit of the Hunt while appealing to the masses. But I insist on weaving in Asgardian lore—stories of valor, wit, and cunning—so it isn’t entirely watered down.”
“Fine by me,” you said with a grin. “And while you’re at it, I’ll make sure the Yule log has its rightful place. Even if it’s not as ‘grand’ as the Hunt, some traditions are worth keeping simple. Maybe the quest could end with everyone gathering around the fire to share stories and rewards.”
Loki gave you a sidelong glance, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “If we must. But I reserve the right to oversee every detail of this quest. If it fails, it’ll be because of your Midgardian ‘simplicity.’”
You rolled your eyes. “Speaking of Midgardian traditions, what about something for the children? Maybe they could write letters about their wishes for the new year. It’d be a way to honor the spirit of giving—and maybe a subtle nod to Odin. After all, he was considered a Santa-like figure back in the day.”
Loki’s expression darkened slightly, his teasing smirk fading. “A ‘Santa-like figure’? Is that how you choose to remember the All-Father? As some mortal caricature who doles out trinkets?”
You softened your tone. “It’s not about reducing him to that. It’s about creating a memorial that’s accessible to everyone—something heartfelt for the people, especially the children.”
He shook his head, his gaze dropping to the table. “Children don’t need to write frivolous letters when they already have the tradition of storytelling. It was one of the few times we, as a people, passed down something meaningful. Stories that carried wisdom, courage, and strength.”
You noticed the melancholic edge to his voice, the faraway look in his eyes. “You miss it, don’t you? The way things used to be.”
Loki didn’t respond immediately, his fingers tracing the edge of a page in one of the books. “Asgard was flawed, but it was home. These traditions... they’re all fragments of a life we can never fully restore.”
You reached across the table, your hand brushing his. “Then let’s make sure those fragments shine as brightly as they can. We might not be able to bring back everything, but we can honor what mattered—and maybe even create something new along the way.”
His gaze lifted to yours, a flicker of gratitude softening his features. “You’re unbearably persistent, you know that?”
“And you’re unreasonably dramatic,” you replied with a teasing grin, leaning back in your chair. “Now, about those stories...”
You went on like this for nearly the entire evening, your playful banter echoing through the quiet halls. One idea led to another, each suggestion sparking either spirited debate or begrudging agreement, until most of the tasks were neatly divided between you. Somewhere along the way, it turned into a friendly competition—Midgardian ingenuity versus Asgardian grandeur. Loki, ever the perfectionist, declared that his half of the event would be a masterpiece of tradition and elegance, while you, with a teasing grin, promised to bring charm and creativity to yours. By the end of it, your rivalry was set, and the stakes were clear: whoever’s contributions won the most admiration during the celebration would earn the undeniable right to gloat.
Three days after the council meeting, New Asgard had been buzzing with excitement. Word of the upcoming celebration spread like wildfire, and the entire realm was invested in the planning. Everyone—from the youngest child to the oldest elder—had some part to play in bringing the festivities to life. The atmosphere was electric, filled with anticipation for the grand feast, the traditions, and the merging of Midgardian charm with Asgardian grandeur. The excitement was contagious, and for a brief moment, the people of New Asgard felt united in their mission to make this event unforgettable.
With only two and a half weeks left to pull everything together, things seemed to be running smoothly. The decorations were coming along, the entertainment had been secured, and the Midgardian food vendors had been booked. However, the first hiccup came when you checked in with the cooking team about the feast’s food supplies.
You walked into the grand kitchen, where the chatter of the chefs and cooks filled the air, the scent of spices and roasting meats already beginning to mingle in the warm atmosphere. You neared a table where several of the Asgardian head chefs were organizing inventory, noting down large quantities of food on a parchment. You could already smell the fragrant aromas of roasting meats and simmering stews. You had heard murmurs of excitement as they prepared the grand feast. However, when you glanced over the inventory list, your stomach dropped.
“Ah, my lady, good to see you,” said Thorvald, the head of the Asgardian cooking team, a stocky, broad-shouldered man with a booming laugh and a fondness for rustic dishes. “We’ve made sure we have plenty of meat, and the roasts are looking excellent for the feast. Odin Allfather, bless his soul, would’ve approved of this spread!”
You scanned the numbers on the parchment and furrowed your brow. “This is... a lot of food, Thorvald. Too much, in fact. The quantities are well over the planned budget.”
“Ah, you worry too much, my friend!” Thorvald chuckled. “We want to give the people of New Asgard a true taste of our heritage, yes? We shall not scrimp on food—especially not when it’s for such an occasion!”
“That’s the problem, Thorvald,” you sighed. “We don’t have the funds to support all of this. I was told that the Asgardian part of the menu has far exceeded the budget we allocated for food. It’s going to require cuts—somewhere. And we can’t afford to cut corners with Midgardian elements just because the Asgardian offerings are more expensive.”
Thorvald blinked in surprise. “Cut some of our dishes? That is... not an easy thing to ask of me, my lady. I’ve spent weeks perfecting these recipes for the feast. These dishes are the soul of Asgardian culture!”
“I’m aware of that,” you replied, your tone strained. “But we have to balance the budget. You can’t expect the Midgardian side to be neglected. I’m going to have to speak to Loki about this.”
You left the kitchen with a heavy heart, your mind racing as you made your way to the main hall. As you passed through the stone corridors, you wondered who had approved such a large quantity of food. You assumed it had to be Thor—he had always been more enthusiastic about showcasing Asgardian culture, after all. But when you entered the hall, you spotted Loki deep in conversation with a few council members—Thrain and Freya. That’s when it hit you.
Of course. Loki.
Your steps slowed as you approached the trio. Loki glanced up as you neared, his usual sly smile spreading across his face. “Ah, darling, what a pleasant surprise. How are the preparations coming along?”
“Mischief,” you said, keeping your voice steady, “I just checked the food inventory. You’re over budget. The Asgardian portion alone is far too much. We’re going to need to cut back on something.”
Loki’s grin widened, though there was a glint of something almost mischievous in his eyes. “And what exactly is the problem?”
“You’re blowing the budget,” you said bluntly. “The quantities are ridiculous. You’ve put us in a bind, Loki. I can’t go back to the Midgardian vendors and explain that their share of the food is being cut so we can accommodate your... extravagance.”
Loki’s smile never faltered, and he leaned in slightly, as if savoring the moment. “Everything is permitted when it comes to Asgardian feasts, don’t you think? I had to make sure our food was sumptuous. If we’re going to impress our guests, we must do it right.”
You blinked, incredulous. “You did this? I thought it was Thor who went overboard with the food. But you—you—decided this was appropriate?”
“Indeed,” Loki replied, his tone light, yet his eyes sharp. “Thor is far too busy with other matters. He’s off delivering invitations to the world leaders. Someone had to make sure the Asgardian side was flawless.”
You shook your head, frustration bubbling up. “Loki, I don’t think you understand the issue. This isn’t just about impressing people. We have to balance both sides. If the Asgardian dishes are more expensive, we’ll have to trim something else to stay within budget.”
Loki’s expression hardened slightly, though he kept his composure. “I already told you—everything is permitted. The Asgardian food will be nothing short of magnificent. If that means cutting a corner somewhere else, so be it.”
“This isn’t a game, Loki!” you snapped, your patience thinning. “We agreed on a budget, and I won’t let you push the Midgardian side aside for your grandiose plans.”
Loki’s lips curled into a small smirk. “Very well, then. We’ll trim a few corners where it pleases you. But I’m telling you, it won’t be the same. Asgardian feasts are a tradition. And traditions don’t come cheap.”
“Maybe next time you’ll think before you make decisions like this,” you warned, your tone firm. “This is your best chance at redemption, Loki. Either we figure this out, or the entire celebration could be in jeopardy. I won’t let you sabotage everything.”
Loki held your gaze for a moment, his eyes flickering with something unreadable. Then, he gave a barely perceptible nod. “Fine. I’ll speak with Thorvald and see where we can adjust things. But don’t think this is over, [Y/N]. You’re too concerned with rules and budgets for your own good.”
“Rules and budgets keep everything in line,” you countered. “Without them, chaos follows. Just remember that when you try to pull off another stunt like this.”
With one last look, you turned on your heel and stormed off, leaving Loki standing with a sly smile, no doubt enjoying the brief conflict. As you left the hall, you knew the next few days would be even more challenging. But one thing was certain—you wouldn’t let him derail the celebration, no matter how much he tried to push his agenda.
⠀
It had been a few days since the food fiasco, and you had hoped the worst was behind you. Yet, when it came to the holiday festivities, a new challenge emerged. You had been put in charge of the decorations, a task you had anticipated would bring joy, but you hadn’t expected the clash of cultures to be so pronounced.
The Asgardians, with their love of grandiose displays, had created decorations featuring intricate carvings, golden accents, and shimmering lights. The Midgardians, on the other hand, had opted for a more homey approach: a mix of soft pastels, tinsel, and small handcrafted ornaments. It was a cacophony of styles that left the hall looking more like a battlefield than a festive wonderland.
You stood in the center of it all, rubbing your temples in frustration. There were a few standout pieces—like the Runestone Ornaments, which you had suggested to add a touch of Asgardian culture. The beautifully carved runes for good luck and blessings were meant to bring harmony, but they were far too overpowering against the gentle hues of the Midgardian decorations. Some of the Asgardians had even insisted on sun-shaped ornaments to bring a sense of warmth and light, while others had complained that they clashed with the more subdued Christmas tree lights.
But the real problem didn’t come until you began unpacking a box of mistletoe. You had seen the tradition in Midgardian homes and thought it would add a charming touch to the festivities. After all, kissing under the mistletoe was a beloved tradition for good fortune, something light-hearted to bring the Asgardians and Midgardians together.
You hung the first mistletoe up near the doorframe, stepping back to admire your handiwork. That’s when it happened.
Asgardians walking by froze in their tracks, staring wide-eyed at the sprig of mistletoe hanging innocently overhead. A few of them stiffened, exchanging uncomfortable glances. The tall Asgardian warrior and member of the council, Thrain, quickly turned and muttered something under his breath, visibly distressed.
“What’s going on?” you asked, genuinely confused.
“You... My lady, you’re hanging that?” Thrain asked in a low voice, his expression grim. “You do know what it means, don’t you?”
You blinked. “The mistletoe? Yeah, it’s a tradition where I come from. You kiss under it for good luck and good cheer during the holidays.”
Thrain’s face turned pale, and a few of the others stepped back cautiously.
“Bad luck, Lady [Y/N],” Thrain said with a sigh. “That’s not just a decoration. It’s a symbol of misfortune in Asgard.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Misfortune? How can a sprig of mistletoe be a symbol of misfortune?”
Thrain glanced around as if to make sure no one else could overhear. After a moment, he leaned in closer to you, his voice lowering. “It’s a long story... but the mistletoe reminds us of an event that happened many centuries ago. It all goes back to a farce Prince Loki pulled on one of our greatest commanders, Balder the Brave.”
You furrowed your brow. “What happened?”
Thrain glanced around again and then began telling the story. “Oh, he’s quite the trickster. This one wasn’t as bad as some of his other schemes, but it certainly caused a ruckus. It happened during a festival many years ago.”
You frowned. “I don’t doubt this behavior coming from him, but I still fail to see how a simple prank would create a ruckus over some plant.”
“One evening, during the midwinter festival,” Thrain continued, “Balder, one of our finest commanders at the time, had just returned victorious from a long campaign. Everyone was celebrating in the Great Hall. Prince Loki, as always, couldn’t resist a chance for a little mischief.”
You frowned. “What did he do?”
“He enchanted a sprig of mistletoe, knowing that Balder, proud as he was, would never let anyone get the better of him. He tricked him into standing under the mistletoe, and as the tradition goes, whoever is beneath it must perform a challenge or take on a task.”
You tilted your head. “A challenge?”
Thrain nodded. “Yes. The challenge was a bit harmless—nothing like what you’d expect. But Loki, ever the trickster, made sure it was something unexpected. He enchanted the mistletoe so that whoever stood under it would be compelled to challenge the nearest person to a game of strength, wit, or skill.”
You laughed. “That sounds fun, not dangerous.”
Thrain smiled but his eyes darkened a little. “It was comical... until it got out of hand. Balder, in his pride, ended up challenging Hodr, his brother, to a contest of wit. But because of Loki’s enchantment, neither of them could back down. The game grew more and more intense—what started as a harmless wager soon escalated into a full-on competition, with the entire hall watching them argue over the silliest things. The game became a battle of pride and ego, and by the end, it nearly caused a rift and a blood battle between the two brothers.”
You raised an eyebrow. “A game of pride? Over mistletoe?”
“Exactly,” Thrain said, sighing. “It became a symbol of misplaced warfare rather than cheer. And since then, the mistletoe has been associated with that... heated contest. It’s seen as a bad omen for anyone who might fall into the trap of too much pride or too much competition.”
You frowned, considering the tale. “I didn’t know it had such a backstory. But I still think it’s a nice tradition. It’s about bringing people together, not creating rivalries.”
Thrain shook his head with a smile. “I suppose it’s not all bad. But many of us are cautious when it comes to mistletoe, considering its history.”
You smiled warmly, standing your ground. “I understand, but I’d like to carry on with the tradition. Maybe this time, it won’t be such a surprise. After all, it’s all in good fun. And, it’s a way to bring the Midgardian and Asgardian sides together.”
Before Thrain could say anything more, Loki casually strolled by, his ever-present grin spreading across his face as he overheard the conversation. He looked at you standing beneath the mistletoe, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“Well, well,” Loki drawled, “looks like someone is trying to bring some of Midgard's cheer to Asgard, hmm?”
Thrain narrowed his eyes at Loki. “You’re the one to blame for this mess. You do remember what happened with the mistletoe and Balder, don’t you?”
You looked from Loki to Thrain. “So you don’t mind? I mean, you’re the one who started it.”
Loki raised an eyebrow, a sly grin creeping across his face. “I never said I minded. You’re more than welcome to give it a try, darling [Y/N]. I’ll just be here to watch the chaos unfold.”
You rolled your eyes, trying to keep the grin from spreading. “Don’t act so smug, Loki. I’m just trying to bring some cheer around here.”
Loki leaned in a bit closer, his voice low and playful. “Oh, I’m sure it’s all in good fun. But if you’re going to hang mistletoe, you must be prepared for the consequences. After all, I did start this tradition with a bit of mischief. Who’s to say what might happen next?”
You gave him a pointed look, not backing down. “I’m not scared of a little mischief, Loki. And if anyone’s at risk of causing chaos around here, it’s you, not me.”
Loki’s grin widened, and he took a step closer, leaning in just enough for his voice to drop further. “Ah, but you’re the one daring enough to carry on the tradition, aren’t you? I’m just here to watch... and perhaps enjoy the show.”
Thrain raised an eyebrow at the playful exchange, clearly amused but also a bit wary of what would happen next.
You shot Loki a playful smile. “Well, I hope you found a good spot because everything is going to go as smoothly as a baby’s bottom. Just wait and see.”
Loki chuckled, stepping back with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “I’ll be watching, indeed. But don’t be too disappointed if things don’t go exactly as planned.”
You didn’t back down. “We’ll see about that. And just so you know... I do like a bit of trickery in my holiday traditions.”
As Loki walked away, still laughing softly to himself, Thrain shook his head, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “I see now... you’re not just abiding by mere traditions. You’re leading to misconduct.”
You grinned and hung the mistletoe with a flourish. “Maybe. But it’ll be fun. Besides, what’s a Christmas holiday without a little bit of naughtiness?”
With that, you carried on with your task, hanging the mistletoe, while Loki strolled off, still grinning as he watched from a distance.
⠀
As you walked briskly down the hall with a bundle of fairy lights in hand, you tried to shake off the growing frustration gnawing at you. It had been a long day filled with last-minute details, and the pressure was starting to mount. The grand hall was coming together with decorations now adorning every corner, but you couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. When you passed by the table where Loki was supposed to be organizing the gifts for the prestigious guests, you nearly stumbled.
The sight before you made you stop dead in your tracks.
On the table laid haphazardly a collection of... unusual objects. You blinked, certain you had misread the situation.
The gifts were mismatched and meager, hardly fitting for the prestigious guests who would be attending the feast. They were strange—vastly different from anything you could imagine giving at such an important event.
There were intricately carved wooden figures, but they weren’t graceful or beautiful. One was a grotesque hybrid of a raven and a wolf, its features stretched and contorted as if trying too hard to be intimidating. Another was a stone, awkwardly shaped, with jagged edges and no real discernible design. You couldn’t tell if it was meant to represent a mountain, a fortress, or just... a rock.
Then, there were the vials—delicate glass tubes filled with what appeared to be tiny, glittering shards. There was a strange metallic sheen to them, as though they were meant to be potions. But it wasn’t something you could imagine anyone actually using. Certainly not the dignitaries they were expecting.
Your irritation bubbled up to the surface. You couldn’t imagine how these would be seen as a suitable gift, especially not for the dignitaries of Midgard.
“Loki?” you called, your voice a little sharper than you intended as you approached the table.
Loki glanced up from the strange wooden carving he was inspecting. His eyes lit up with that ever-present mischievous gleam, but his smile faltered when he saw the look on your face.
“Darling. I see you’ve found the gifts,” he said smoothly, clearly pleased with his work.
“Yes,” you said, your voice tight. “I have. And I’m... not sure what to make of them.”
Loki raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. “What’s wrong with them?”
Your jaw tightened as you glanced from the wolf-raven hybrid to the glass vials, each one looking more out of place than the last. “Loki, these—these are not what I imagined. They’re... off-putting.” You took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself but failing. “These are not appropriate for the guests we’re inviting. These are—” you pointed at the grotesque wooden figures “—bizarre.”
Loki’s eyes narrowed slightly, his expression shifting from playful to defensive. “I don’t understand,” he said, his tone cold now. “What’s wrong with them? They’re authentic Asgardian craftsmanship. I thought the Midgardians would appreciate such unique offerings.”
“Unique?” you snapped, your frustration spilling over. “These aren’t unique, Loki. They’re strange. Midgardians have a different taste in gifts, and you’re not exactly showing the best of Asgard here. Look at this! This is not something you give a king or queen!”
You gestured toward the awkwardly shaped stone again. “A rock? Really? And these vials—” you picked one up, nearly dropping it when the tiny shards inside shimmered in the light “—what even is this?”
Loki’s expression remained calm, though there was a flicker of annoyance in his eyes. “Well, perhaps you Midgardians are more accustomed to giving mundane things like jewels or soft fabrics. But these gifts are symbolic of our realm’s might and history.”
You let out an exasperated breath, rubbing your temples as your stress levels rose. “Loki, gifts are about more than just showing off. It’s about connecting with the person you’re giving it to, about meaning. You can’t just throw a bunch of random objects together and call it a gift. They need to reflect the people you're giving them to—something personal, something that makes them feel seen. Not just... intimidating displays of power!”
Loki’s lips curled into a smirk. “Are you telling me these aren’t worthy of Asgardian guests?” His voice was laced with mockery, but there was a hint of genuine confusion beneath it.
“Not worthy—appropriate,” you shot back, your patience wearing thin. “They need to fit the occasion! We need to think about the people we're giving them to, not just impress them with how ‘mighty’ Asgard is!”
Loki was silent for a moment, staring at the table of strange objects. There was a flicker of something in his eyes—was it doubt? No, it couldn’t be. But something about your words made him pause.
Finally, he exhaled slowly and raised an eyebrow. “So, what do you suggest I do? I am not accustomed to the delicate, personal gifts you Midgardians are so fond of.” He made air quotes around the word ‘personal’, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
You stood your ground, your voice tight. “For starters? Hand-carved wooden jewelry boxes, a set of hand-blown glass ornaments, fine, elegant cloaks, scrolls with inscriptions of peace and goodwill, or something more symbolic. Something that shows you’ve thought about the person receiving it, not just what’s flashy and ‘impressive’.”
Loki leaned against the table, crossing his arms, his gaze unreadable. “Hm. So, you want me to take all these—” He motioned toward the array of oddities. “And turn them into something bland and safe?”
“I want you to make something thoughtful,” you retorted, your voice sharp. “I’m not asking for ‘bland’. I’m asking you to take a moment and actually think about the people who’ll receive these gifts. Just because they’re from Asgard doesn’t mean they’ll automatically be appreciated.” You were starting to feel more and more on edge, but you didn’t back down.
Loki studied you for a long moment, his lips curling into that familiar, teasing smile. “Perhaps you’re right,” he said with a sigh, raising his hands in mock surrender. “I shall reconsider my gift choices. But I must say, I do find your attitude a bit... aggressive for something as simple as gift-giving.”
You didn’t smile. You glared at him, your chest tight with both frustration and exhaustion. “Maybe it’s the pressure of this entire event that’s making me a little on edge, Loki,” you said, your voice laced with sarcasm. “You know, considering I’ve got a million things to handle, and your weird-ass gifts are not helping.”
Loki tilted his head, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Ah, so you admit you’re a little... stressed?” he teased, his voice dropping an octave.
You forced a smile, your tone sharp but controlled. “Stressed? No, irritated, and you’re the reason why.”
Loki laughed softly, his eyes dancing with amusement. “Well, I shall do my best to improve the situation. As you so kindly suggested.”
You shot him a final glare before turning on your heel, muttering under your breath. “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
Loki, still grinning, watched you walk away, a smirk tugging at his lips. “Oh, I’m sure you will, darling. You’ll see.”
⠀
The days were growing shorter, and the pressure was mounting. You had barely slept in the past few days, and you were starting to feel the weight of everything pressing down on your shoulders. As you stood in the hall, supervising the lights and sound systems for the grand celebration, you couldn’t help but feel the overwhelming anticipation in the air. The event was drawing closer, and there were still so many things to check off your list.
You were adjusting a speaker, ensuring it was positioned properly, when you couldn’t resist. The temptation to hear the music was too much, so you quickly branched the speaker and connected your device. A soft click and then—Christmas carols filled the air. You smiled, satisfied with the sound quality, as the cheerful tunes resonated through the room. But your satisfaction was short-lived.
The room grew suddenly quieter, and a few Asgardians who had been nearby shot you disapproving looks. One of them, a stern-faced woman, crossed her arms and approached with a disapproving glare.
"You... put this on?" she asked, her tone tight. "This is not how we celebrate our Yule. This... commercialized nonsense. What is this Midgardian tradition you’ve chosen to impose upon us?"
You blinked, confused. “What do you mean? It’s just Christmas carols... The song is about goodwill and joy. It’s part of the festivities."
The woman shook her head sharply, clearly upset. “Yule is a sacred time for Asgardians. We do not need the influence of Midgard’s festivals to ruin it.” She turned on her heel, walking away, muttering something about traditions being lost.
The sound of footsteps behind you caught your attention, and soon you were surrounded by a small crowd of disapproving Asgardians. Your stomach sank as their frowns deepened. The more they gathered, the more agitated they became, and soon voices were rising in frustration.
“This is not the way we do things here!” one of them exclaimed. “You can’t just commercialize our holiday!”
“I never agreed to this,” another voice chimed in. “This is a travesty to our sacred traditions!”
Your pulse quickened, and your mind raced, but the words felt like they were getting jumbled in your head. You tried to speak, but the frustration in the room was suffocating. The weight of their disapproval settled heavily on your chest, and you felt the first stirrings of panic. You had tried to make everything perfect, to blend the two worlds, but it seemed you had miscalculated, and now you were drowning in the pressure. You took a deep breath, but it felt shallow, and your hands trembled slightly. This was going wrong. Everything was going wrong. You were failing—again. You opened your mouth, but before you could say anything, a familiar voice cut through the tension.
"Enough."
Brunnhilde, with her ever-present calm and authority, stepped forward, her eyes scanning the crowd with quiet dominance. The Asgardians fell silent, and though they clearly weren’t pleased, they respected the king's presence. She turned to you, offering a small, sympathetic smile before addressing the group.
“We are guests in Midgard’s customs, and we are also here to celebrate Yule,” the Valkyrie said, her voice firm. “You are welcome to honor your traditions, but we must also respect the customs of the land we are in. Lady [Y/N] meant no disrespect, but there are many ways to celebrate, and it’s important to find balance.” She glanced over her shoulder. “If you have concerns, I am happy to discuss them with you. But for now, let us all move forward in the spirit of the festivities. There is no need to argue further.”
The Asgardians grumbled but eventually nodded, dispersing with a few sideways glares. Brunnhilde turned back to you, her expression softening.
“You’ve got a lot on your plate,” she said quietly, once the crowd had broken up. “And I know it’s not easy. But you can’t let every little mishap break you down. You’re doing the best you can.”
You let out a shaky breath, feeling the weight of everything crash down on you again. “I just... I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Everything’s falling apart, Val. I thought this was going to go well, but—” You paused, your voice catching. “It feels like everything I try only makes things worse.”
The Valkyrie placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, giving you a reassuring squeeze. “You’re not perfect, sweet cheeks. Of course you’re going to make mistakes. And you’re in charge of something that’s never been done before—of course, things will get complicated. But you can’t let it get to you like this. You have less than a week to go, and you need to pull yourself together. You can’t keep running to me for help every time something goes wrong. You’re more than capable of handling this.”
You gave her a strained smile, trying to hold back the frustration and exhaustion threatening to spill over. “I’ll do my best,” you said, though your voice was tired, worn. “I just want it to go well. For everyone.”
The Valkyrie's expression softened further, a knowing look in her eyes. “I know you do. You’ve put so much of yourself into this, and it won’t go unnoticed. But if you don’t take a moment to breathe and trust in your abilities, you’re going to burn out. So please, just... take a step back when you need to.”
You nodded, feeling the sincerity in her words, even if you weren’t entirely convinced. “I’ll... I’ll try. Thank you, Val’.”
She gave you a warm smile, her eyes full of understanding. “That’s all anyone can ask for. You’re doing great, even if you don’t feel it. Just don’t forget to keep breathing.”
With a final pat on the shoulder, she turned and walked off, leaving you standing there, a little more grounded. You took a deep breath, steadying yourself. You had a week left—you could do this. You had to.
It was supposed to be the highlight of the festivities. The Christmas tree. Everyone had been looking forward to it—the centerpiece of the entire celebration. You had spent weeks planning for it. You had found the perfect tree—a towering Asgardian pine, with thick branches that would hold the glowing lights and ornaments just right. It was going to be the perfect way to end all the planning, a moment of beauty and unity.
But when you arrived at the hall that morning, ready to supervise the decorating, you froze in horror. The spot where the tree had once stood was now empty.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you rushed through the room, looking everywhere, even behind the columns, but the tree was nowhere to be found. You moved faster, your panic growing.
“Where is it?” you muttered to yourself, voice rising with panic.
You turned the corner and saw a scene that made your stomach drop. The tree was... in pieces. Cut into sections, dragged across the floor, and stacked near the Yule log, ready to be burned. Your breath caught in your throat. The beautiful tree that had taken so long to pick, to care for, was now destined to be turned into kindling.
You stood frozen for a moment, staring at the pile of branches and needles.
You began to ask around, stopping the first Asgardian you saw. “What happened to the tree?” you demanded.
The person looked confused for a moment before answering, their voice careful. “Oh, the orders came down this morning. The tree was to be cut down and used for the Yule log. It’s been taken to be prepared for the fire tonight.”
Your blood ran cold. “What? No, that was the Christmas tree!” you said, your voice rising in disbelief. “Not for the Yule log. That was for decorating—”
Before you could finish, another Asgardian approached quickly, clearly out of breath. “The treasure hunt,” they said urgently. “It’s gone. It’s disappeared.”
The words hit you like a wave crashing over you. You couldn’t breathe. Your stomach twisted in horror, and your vision blurred as panic surged in your chest. You turned back toward the pile of cut branches and needles, but this time, you couldn’t stop the overwhelming flood of emotions.
“No! No, no, no…” you whispered, almost choking on the words. You couldn’t do this anymore. Your hands shook as you looked from the missing tree to the empty space where the treasure hunt should have been. You had worked so hard on every detail, every tradition. And now it was all falling apart.
Your breath caught in your throat as you realized just how much was slipping through your fingers. The pressure, the endless demands, the mistakes you couldn’t control. Everything you had worked for—everything you had poured your energy into—was unraveling before your eyes.
Without thinking, you screamed in frustration, the sound of it echoing in the empty hall.
“This is insane!” you shouted, your voice breaking. Your hands balled into fists at your sides as you fought to keep yourself from completely losing it.
As your outburst rang through the room, you realized a small crowd had gathered. They were watching you, exchanging glances. You could see the looks of confusion, even pity, but it was too much. Too much to bear.
You spun toward Loki, who had appeared in the doorway, clearly having heard the commotion. The sight of him was the last straw.
“You!” you yelled, your eyes blazing with fury. “This is your fault, isn’t it? You’re the one who gave the order to cut down the tree, aren't you?”
Loki didn’t flinch, his expression calm as ever, though his eyes narrowed slightly at your tone. “How kind of you to assume it originates from me,” he answered smoothly, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “It’s a tree. It wasn’t going to last anyway.”
“No!” you snapped, your voice cracking. “It was supposed to be the Christmas tree! This was supposed to be the centerpiece of the entire festival, and now it’s—gone! Everything is falling apart!”
Loki raised an eyebrow, clearly unamused by your outburst. “I’m not sure what you’re upset about, darling. It’s just a tree. We have plenty of others.” He shrugged nonchalantly. “And as for the treasure hunt... perhaps it’s just better you move on.”
The words felt like a slap to your already fragile state. You were barely holding yourself together. “You don’t get it! Do you even know about how much effort I’ve put into this?” you cried, your voice shaking with frustration.
Before you could continue, the Asgardian who had spoken earlier came rushing in again, their face full of urgency. “The treasure hunt—there was another problem. The maps and clues were taken. We can’t find any of it!”
You stood there, your mind reeling, your entire body trembling as the weight of everything you had been carrying finally broke through. You were suffocating under the pressure.
“I can’t do this anymore,” you whispered, voice barely audible. Your chest heaved as tears began to burn at the corners of your eyes. The anger, the frustration, the helplessness—it all collided inside you, and you couldn’t keep it in anymore.
Loki, standing calmly in front of you, regarded you with a mixture of curiosity and mild irritation. He stepped closer, his expression unreadable. “You need to calm down, [Y/N]. It’s just a few mistakes. We’ll fix it.”
“You don’t get it!” you shouted at him, your voice cracking with emotion. “You’re the one who screwed this all up!” You were shaking now, your entire body trembling from the storm of feelings threatening to consume you. “I’ve been working so hard to make this perfect, and you—you just came in and ruined everything!”
Loki’s calm demeanor didn’t change, though there was a flash of something like annoyance in his eyes. “Enough,” he said simply. “You need a break.”
Before you could respond, Loki encased one of your arms with his hand, and suddenly, the world around you disappeared in a rush of swirling light. The noise, the chaos, the pressure—all of it vanished as you were transported far from the hall, away from the mess.
Thor, who had just returned from handing out the invitations, stepped into the hall, ready to greet the others and take in the progress. His cheerful mood faltered however when he saw the tension in the air. Brunnhilde stepped in front of him quickly, her presence a calming force.
“Thor,” she said softly, “don’t worry. We’ll take care of it. The tree and the treasure hunt will be set right.”
Thor frowned but nodded slowly, trusting her judgment. “What happened?”
“Leave it to me,” She replied with a reassuring smile. “It’s not as bad as it seems. Just give us a little time, and everything will be in order.”
Thor sighed, his face softening. “Alright. Just... make sure everything is alright.”
The valkyrie gave him a firm nod. “It’ll be fine. We’ll handle it.”
⠀
The sudden rush of magic had barely settled when your power surged inside you, raw and untamed. Your emotions, a swirling storm of anger, frustration, and fear, acted like a catalyst, and without warning, your armor materialized around you—jagged and radiant, the energy radiating from you like a tempest.
The environment was eerily quiet, isolated from the hustle of the main celebration preparations. The corner they were in was a secluded stretch of rocky outcrop nestled between tall, jagged trees that seemed to protect the area from view. The ground beneath them was soft with moss and small, scattered leaves. A few low stone walls were partly overgrown with ivy, adding to the sense that this was an untouched space, perfect for moments away from the prying eyes of others.
Your frustration boiled over. “You!” you screamed, pointing an accusing finger at Loki. “This is your fault!” Your voice was raw with rage, and the air around them crackled with your energy as you lunged at him.
Loki blinked, clearly caught off guard by the sudden eruption of power. He barely had time to react before you lunged at him, your armor glowing with destructive energy. “I told you to take it seriously!” you yelled, your voice hoarse, as you swung an energy-charged fist toward him.
Loki, still calm despite your fury, sidestepped the attack easily, but he wasn’t expecting the ferocity of your movements. “For Norn’s sake, calm down,” he exclaimed, dodging another strike, his voice measured. “You’re losing it!”
“Don’t tell me to calm down!” you spat, your energy only intensifying. You launched yourself at him again, this time in a flurry of punches and energy blasts that tore through the air. Each time Loki parried, it only made you angrier, and you screamed in frustration, the energy from your armor flaring brighter. The surrounding trees shuddered in response to the intensity.
Loki’s face hardened with determination as he blocked your energy with his seiðr, deflecting your blows. “You need to stop this,” he said, barely dodging another attack. His voice tinged with something more serious than usual. “I know you’re angry, but this won’t solve anything.”
“I don’t care!” you shouted, charging forward again, your movements fueled by raw, uncontrolled power. Each punch you threw left ripples in the air, crackling with auroral energy. The moss beneath their feet quivered under the force, and distant birds flew away in alarm.
Loki, his expression tightening, continued to dodge your strikes, his calm demeanor beginning to crack. “You don’t need to do this. Control yourself, you’re letting your emotions take over.”
“Everything is falling apart!” you yelled back, your eyes blazing with power. “I worked so hard for this and it’s all crumbling! I don’t even know what to do anymore!”
The wind picked up around them, swirling the fallen leaves into a frenzy. Loki's stance grew more defensive, his magic weaving through the air to deflect your blows. “I understand that, but lashing out won’t make it better,” he countered, his eyes flashing as his powers met yours in the charged atmosphere. “Destroying yourself over this won’t help either.”
You recoiled slightly, eyes wild, but there was a flash of uncertainty in them now. Another blast of energy shot from your hands, missing Loki only by a hair. But this time, the force of your attack wasn’t matched by the fury you had before. The anger was still there, but it was beginning to dissipate, replaced by sheer exhaustion.
Your attacks slowed, and you found yourself dropping to your knees, the heavy weight of your emotions finally catching up to you. You were gasping for breath, your chest heaving. The power surrounding you flickered and began to fade as your energy drained. Your armor seemed to collapse in on itself, leaving only your trembling form.
You pulled your knees to your chest, your body curled inwards as your arms wrapped around yourself. Tears started to fall, hot and fast, as everything you had been bottling up poured out in sobs. You didn’t even try to stop them. You felt broken, like all the pressure and expectations had crushed you, and there was nothing left but this overwhelming, suffocating exhaustion.
Loki watched silently, his expression softening as he took in the sight of you. You had been so strong, so determined, and now you were crumpled in front of him, vulnerable in a way he had rarely seen before.
“Darling,” he said softly, his voice lacking its usual edge. He took a step forward, his tone gentler than it had been all day. “I didn’t want you to get to this point. But you’re not alone. You never have to be alone in this.”
You sniffled, your voice breaking as you spoke through your tears. “Shut up. I tried so hard… But—But nothing is going right and—and I can’t keep pretending like I’ve got everything under control.”
You sat quietly, your head resting on your knees as the last remnants of your armor faded away. The hum of the distant festivities was a dull echo compared to the storm of emotions that had overwhelmed you moments ago. Loki remained beside you, his posture relaxed but his eyes never leaving you, watching you carefully as if gauging when to speak.
The silence stretched between them, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. It was as if they were both taking a breath, letting the tension of the moment settle before moving forward.
Finally, Loki shifted slightly, lowering himself to sit beside you. He rested his elbows on his knees, his gaze softening as he looked at you, his usual playful demeanor absent for once.
“You know,” he began softly, his voice a comforting murmur in the quiet space between them, “I’ve seen many things in my time—more than most can fathom. But there is one thing about Yule that has always amused me.”
You glanced up at him, the exhaustion in your eyes still clear, but there was a small flicker of curiosity and apprehension in them as you met his gaze. Loki smiled faintly, leaning back slightly to get more comfortable. He seemed to take a breath before he began, his tone easing into something reminiscent of a tale he had long since retold to himself.
“When I was younger, and Asgard still celebrated Yule in its true, ancient form, there was a tradition... one that many might call ‘foolish’ now,” he began, a glint of mischief creeping into his voice. “We used to have a grand competition every year—a Yule feast, yes, but with a twist. It wasn’t just about who could decorate the best or bring the finest gifts. No, it was about who could make the best ‘Yule pudding.’”
You looked at him with a raised brow, unimpressed. “Yule pudding?”
Loki nodded, a mischievous grin tugging at his lips as he continued. “Yes. It was an Asgardian delicacy, made from all sorts of strange and exotic ingredients—some of which were better left unspoken of. The twist, however, was that everyone’s pudding had to be kept a secret until the feast began. The idea was that the other competitors would be surprised, even horrified, by what they found in their bowls.” He gave you a playful, knowing look. “And trust me, some of the ingredients were... less than appealing.”
You slightly tilted your head up, your curiosity piqued despite yourself. “So... did anyone actually win?”
“Oh, yes,” Loki chuckled, his eyes lighting up with a familiar mischief that was comforting, even in the current tense atmosphere. “But not in the way you’d expect. The prize was a crown, yes, but the true victory came from seeing the faces of the other competitors. You know, nothing is more satisfying than watching the mightiest warriors of Asgard choke down something so vile... all for the sake of tradition.”
You couldn’t help but let out a scoff at the image he painted, the tension in your shoulders easing for the first time that evening. “I can’t believe you used to get people to eat that stuff,” you said, shaking your head, though the corners of your lips twitched into a small smile.
Loki’s grin softened at the sound of your laughter, and he leaned a little closer to you, resting his arm across his knee. “I may have been a bit of a... troublemaker,” he said with a small shrug. “But the real lesson was the spirit of Yule itself—not in the feasts or the gifts, but in the laughter and joy that followed. Even in the worst moments, there is light to be found.” He glanced at you, his voice dropping to a quieter, more serious tone. “Even now, during times like this. What matters is not how perfect everything is, but how we come together, despite it all.”
You stared at him for a moment, the weight of his words sinking in, but it was the warm look in his eyes that made your heart settle. It was an understanding you hadn’t expected, and for the first time since the pressure began to mount, you felt a little less alone in your frustration.
You leaned your head against his shoulder, your breath steadying. The soft comfort of his presence, the closeness, and the warmth of his energy settled the lingering chaos inside you.
Loki’s posture stiffened for a moment, surprised, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, he allowed himself a small smile, his fingers lightly brushing against your forearm as if offering silent reassurance. “Better?”
You sighed, closing your eyes for a moment as you nodded, allowing yourself to rest in the calm space he’d created. “Yeah. Thank you, Mischief.” You paused, your voice quieter. “I’m still angry with you, though.”
He chuckled, though there was an apologetic undertone in his laughter. “I know,” he replied softly, his hand finding hers, the contact warm and comforting. “And… I apologize. I should have thought more carefully about how things would turn out, but as you know, I never could resist pushing your buttons.”
You gave a half-hearted smile, your eyes still closed as you rested your head against his shoulder. “Yeah, I noticed that alright. I guess I’ll have to be more careful around you in the future when it comes to important duty stuff.”
“I’ll consider this a compliment,” he said with a sly smirk, though the softness in his tone betrayed his true feelings. “I never did well with being ignored.”
You let out a small laugh, your shoulders relaxing fully now. The tension you’d carried for so long seemed to ease with each word he spoke, each breath he took. “I could’ve never have guessed,” you said teasingly, lifting your head to glance at him. Your gaze softened as you looked into his eyes. “But truly, thank you. You didn’t have to do this.”
Loki’s lips curled into a small, sly smile as he looked at you. “I suppose even I, the magnificent and benevolent god that I am, cannot resist the allure of your stubbornness,” he said with a mockingly grandiose tone.
You stayed seated, the world around you hushed, save for the gentle rustling of the snow and the occasional sound of distant footsteps. The snow blanketed everything in serene stillness, creating a peaceful atmosphere that made it feel as though you were in a world of your own, far removed from the stress of the impending festivities.
Loki, still holding your hand without realizing it, gently rubbed his thumb along the back of your hand. The touch was comforting, soothing in its quiet rhythm, as if trying to calm the lingering tension in both of you. You didn’t speak for a while, content in the peacefulness of the moment.
You sat there, side by side, the stillness of the world around you filling the space between you with an unspoken connection. The flakes of snow continued to drift down around you, their quiet dance a gentle reminder of the calm you shared.
You glanced at him, your heart beating a little faster than usual. You weren’t sure if it was the cold, or something else, but your cheeks felt warmer, and when you looked at Loki, he seemed to be feeling the same quiet shift between you. Your fingers remained intertwined, a small, unnoticed act of closeness that neither of you questioned.
For a long moment, neither of you moved, both content in each other's company as the world around you continued to fall into the winter stillness. The silence felt comfortable now, and neither of you was in a hurry to leave it.
As the minutes passed, you felt the cold slowly creeping back into your bones, a shiver running through you. You glanced at Loki and saw that his eyes had softened, watching you carefully. He felt it too, the quiet coldness in the air.
Loki, still with his thumb brushing against the back of your hand, looked at you for a moment before speaking again. “I believe we’ve overstayed our welcome here. Let’s get you back before someone else decides to accidentally destroy something.”
You let out a small laugh, this time free of the weight you’d carried for so long. You felt lighter—easier. You stood up and offered him your hand, which he took with an ease that made the whole moment feel just right. “Can’t wait to see what other problem awaits us,” you answered sarcastically, a small smile on your lips.
You had said "us"—a small word, but one that meant a lot in this moment. The connection between you, the quiet bond you shared, felt even more solid in the simplicity of it.
When you finally stood, neither of you noticed how your hands were still clasped together. It was only when you began walking back toward the hall that the warmth of your intertwined hands made you realize just how natural it felt. Neither of you spoke of it, but both knew that something had shifted. Neither of you knew if your cheeks were flushed from the cold, or from something else entirely, but neither of you minded.
The sound of your footsteps blended with the soft echo of the falling snow as you made your way back, the world around you still and serene, leaving you alone in your thoughts and the shared comfort of each other's presence.
The first thing you noticed upon waking the next morning was the soft, golden light spilling through the windows, casting a warm glow over the room. The warmth was a welcome contrast to the cool air of the hall you’d fallen asleep in, and you slowly stretched, your body sore from the events of the previous day. Your mind was still clouded with memories of the chaos—broken decorations, missing trees, disorganized gifts. A faint sense of panic clawed at your chest, but as you sat up, you realized the quiet hum of activity had returned to the castle.
You wiped your face with the back of your hand, trying to shake off the weight of the previous day’s exhaustion. It was hard to believe it had all come to a head the night before—one misstep after another, and yet, here you were, still alive and breathing.
When you pushed yourself up from the bed and stepped into the hallway, you found it quieter than usual. The usual hustle and bustle of the Yule preparations had faded into the background. Your feet carried you instinctively toward the great hall, but when you stepped inside, your breath caught in your throat. The hall had transformed overnight.
Where there had been scattered remnants of undone decorations and unfinished projects, now there were beautifully decorated trees, glowing with twinkling lights. The large, grand Yule tree, full of shimmering baubles and sparkling tinsel, stood proudly near the center of the hall, towering over the tables. Garlands of holly and ivy draped across every surface, and the sweet smell of freshly baked bread and roasting meats filled the air.
But despite the stunning transformation, your heart still raced. You looked around with wide eyes, trying to take in everything, but it only seemed to make your nerves flare up.
“Where is everything?” you muttered under your breath, mostly to yourself, but the words were tinged with a hint of anxiety. Had they truly fixed everything? The tree looked perfect—tall, regal, and sturdy—but was it the right one? You had been so frantic, you hadn’t even stopped to look at it properly.
Your footsteps quickened, and you moved to the table where the feast had been laid out. Platters of food, colorful and hearty, were stacked in layers of decadent variety. The bread, the pastries, the meats… everything looked impeccable. Had they managed to get everything right? What if something had been missed?
“[Y/N],” came Valkyrie’s voice, drawing your attention. You looked up to see her walking toward you with a teasing grin. “Good morning. I see you’re already making your rounds.”
You swallowed, forcing yourself to appear calm as you turned toward her. “I just—I just want to make sure everything’s in order,” you said, though your tone was strained. “The tree... it’s the right one, isn’t it? And the feast—did we get everything? We can’t afford to make any more mistakes.”
The Valkyrie arched a brow, crossing her arms over her chest. “You’ve got a lot of fretting to do, don’t you? You need to take a break. Everything is done. The tree is perfect, the decorations are all set, and the feast... well, the Asgardian delicacies are sure to make an impression. Relax.”
You hesitated, eyes scanning the room again, but the weight of the last few days, added to your constant sense of responsibility, didn’t allow you to settle so easily. “But what about the gifts? Did Loki handle everything? And the—the treasure hunt?”
Brunnhilde gave a small chuckle. “Oh, the treasure hunt is a... success,” she said, the way she said it making you feel slightly apprehensive. “Though, I must admit, I didn’t expect the children to raid the chocolate stash as thoroughly as they did. I’m still trying to figure out how the entire chest went missing, but they found the treasure in the end, and I think that’s what matters.”
“Wait, the chocolates—” you froze, then sighed. “Of course. Of course, they ate it all.”
She smirked. “At least they found it,” she added with a shrug. “But that’s all handled. You’ve done your part. Now, you can rest.”
“I can’t rest,” you muttered, glancing over at the corner of the hall where a few last-minute touches were still needed. “There’s still the lights to check, and the candles—what if they’re uneven? What if the guests don’t like the decorations?”
The Valkyrie watched you for a moment, her expression softening slightly. She walked over and placed a hand on your shoulder, her voice becoming more serious. “Listen to me, sweet cheeks. You’ve been working nonstop for days. Everything is taken care of. It’s all ready. All that’s left for you to do is enjoy it.”
Your face flushed with embarrassment. You knew you were overthinking everything, but it was hard to shake off the anxiety that had built up during the previous days. You had put so much pressure on yourself, and the idea of something going wrong—again—made your stomach twist.
But Brunnhilde was right. Everything was perfect. You had helped put it all together, and now all you had to do was step back and enjoy it. No more fretting.
With a deep sigh, you finally nodded. “You’re right. I just... I can’t help it.” You rubbed your temples. “I’ll try to rest for a bit.”
She grinned and gave you a playful shove toward the seating area. “Good. Now go take a break. Everything is in order. We’ve got this.”
Your steps slowed, and you made your way to the chairs near the fireplace, feeling lighter with each step. It was hard to let go of the responsibility, but in that quiet moment, with everything taken care of, you could finally breathe a little easier.
As you sank into the warmth of the chair and allowed yourself to close your eyes for just a moment, you felt a sense of relief wash over you. The rest of the day would be filled with festivities, joy, and laughter. The Yule festival was coming soon. And this time, you could enjoy it without the weight of worry on your shoulders.
⠀
The royal library had been deemed a perfect spot for the traditional storytelling to take place. The shelves lined with ancient tomes and scrolls seemed to add an air of mystique to the already enchanting setting. Children crowded around Loki, sitting cross-legged on the floor, their eyes wide with curiosity. Even a few of the adults had gathered, drawn in by the sheer magnetism of his presence.
You stood near the doorway, watching quietly from the sidelines. You couldn’t help but smile at the sight before you—Loki, the formidable god of mischief, captivating the room with his magic. His voice was deep and resonant, laced with humor, as he began weaving his tale.
“And so, there I was,” he began, gesturing dramatically with one hand, “standing atop the great peak of Jotunheim, facing down an entire army of giants. The cold bit at my skin, but did I flinch?” He paused, his lips curling into a playful grin. “Of course not. I am Loki, the trickster god, the one who—”
The children erupted in giggles, and Loki’s grin widened. With a snap of his fingers, the air around him shimmered with a faint green glow. He conjured an illusion of a massive ice giant, towering above the group, its icy form glowing ominously. The kids gasped in awe, eyes glued to the spectacle.
“Fear not, young ones!” Loki’s voice boomed as he summoned another flick of magic, and the giant began to shrink. “I wasn’t about to let a little thing like that scare me. With one swift move, I tricked them into thinking they’d already won. I am a god, after all.”
As he spoke, his illusions shifted with every word—mighty warriors battling against beasts, massive serpents coiling around towering castles, and fire-breathing dragons soaring across the sky. The magic seemed to come alive with every flick of his wrist, each new image more mesmerizing than the last.
You couldn’t tear your eyes away. It wasn’t just the magic—though it was impressive—it was the way Loki moved, the way he commanded the room. There was something about him in these moments, his charm and wit flowing effortlessly, drawing even the adults in.
His eyes met yours for a fleeting second as he continued his tale, and you felt your heart skip a beat. There was something oddly endearing about watching him perform for the children. He was so... alive. His usual smirk softened in these moments, replaced by a deep sense of contentment as he captivated his audience.
“You know, the trick to deceiving giants,” Loki continued, his voice lowering conspiratorially as the children leaned in closer, “is not in strength, but in the art of persuasion. They believed me when I said the sun had risen on their kingdom. But I knew better. The sun? It wasn’t even close to rising.” He chuckled darkly. “I’ll spare you the details of the real trick, but let’s just say... they learned to always listen to Loki.”
A few of the children laughed and clapped, clearly entranced by the story, while the adults looked on with amused smiles. You couldn’t help but smile fondly at him from your position by the doorway, the warmth of the moment settling in your chest.
“That was quite the tale,” Brunnhilde said, stepping up behind you with a playful grin. “I didn’t realize you were so captivated by Loki’s antics.”
You turned quickly, caught off guard by her teasing. “What?” you asked, your cheeks heating slightly as you tried to hide the warmth spreading through your chest. “I’m just... enjoying the story.”
She raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the situation. “Mm-hmm, enjoying it quite a lot, I see. You know, if you’re really into the storytelling, you could always go sit on Loki’s lap, like the Midgardian children do with Santa. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind.” She smirked, nudging you playfully.
You flushed, rolling your eyes as you tried to cover up your flustered state. “I’m fine where I am, thank you,” you said, though your gaze lingered on Loki at the center of the room. Your heart fluttered a little as you watched him, and you quickly turned away to hide the warmth creeping into your cheeks.
As the story continued, Loki’s hands wove through the air, creating glowing, animated figures with his seiðr. He made the children laugh, gasp, and even squeal with excitement as dragons flew overhead and kingdoms were overthrown. Each tale he told seemed to be tailored to his young audience, but you couldn’t help but notice how the adults—yourself included—were just as mesmerized by him.
You shifted slightly, and your eyes caught on one of the floating illusions—a massive serpent coiling around a castle tower. For a moment, you thought it looked almost... real. You blinked and glanced at Loki, noticing the slight tilt of his head as he continued to spin his tale.
Your heart skipped again.
“So,” The Valkyrie said, her voice dropping to a low whisper. “What do you think? Still not interested in the man behind the magic?”
You shot her an incredulous look. “What are you talking about?” you hissed under your breath. “I told you, I’m just here for the storytelling.”
“Sure you are,” she teased, nudging you with her elbow.
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes again, but deep down, you felt a quiet warmth in your chest. Brunnhilde's teasing aside, there was something undeniable about the way Loki commanded the room. You were captivated, and you didn’t think there was any shame in admitting it.
Finally, after several more stories, Loki ended his performance with a dramatic flourish. The children clapped, their cheers echoing through the grand library.
“At ease,” he said, bowing slightly, “I hope you all enjoyed the tale. It’s not every day you get to hear the true version of events, after all.” He gave the children a wink before turning toward the adults. “Now, my dear friends, it’s time to take a break and prepare for the real festivities to begin.”
You stepped back as Loki turned toward you, still basking in the glow of the applause. He caught your eye, and you couldn’t help but smile fondly. He seemed so at ease in his element—charming, playful, and utterly captivating.
The Valkyrie’s teasing voice broke through your thoughts again. “Looks like you’ve got a fan club to be a part of,” she whispered with a sly grin.
You could only chuckle, shaking your head. "Oh, hush."
But as Loki’s gaze met yours once more, you felt something stir in your chest—a connection you couldn’t quite put into words. For all his mischief and tricks, something was endearing about the way he made the world around him brighter, even if it was just for a moment.
⠀
The grand hall was alive with the soft hum of conversation and laughter, but amid the lively atmosphere, you found yourself quietly drawn toward the Yule tree. Its towering branches were adorned with delicate glass ornaments, shimmering ribbons, and lights that cast a soft, magical glow throughout the room. You stood before it, mesmerized by the beauty of it all.
But as you stepped closer, your attention was caught by something unexpected. Among the glittering baubles and tinsel were small, folded papers tied with delicate strings, hanging just like ornaments. At first, you thought they were part of the decorations, but as you leaned in to examine them, you realized they were letters—each one carefully placed with intention. Curiosity piqued, you gently plucked one from the tree and unfolded it.
The first letter was simple, the handwriting of a child: I wish for a pet dragon, even if it’s small. You smiled softly, your heartwarming at the innocent wish. You moved to the next one, your fingers tracing the fragile paper. I wish for snow to never stop falling, so I can play forever. Each note seemed to carry with it a small, pure hope, a wish that felt timeless and untouched by the complications of the world.
You let out a quiet laugh, glancing at another letter. I wish for more sweets at the feast tomorrow. That one made you grin wider—something about it felt so wonderfully human, so relatable in its simplicity.
“You seem to be enjoying those.” The voice startled you, and you turned to find Loki standing just behind you, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. There was a certain softness to his gaze as he watched you, a subtle pride that he didn’t always show.
You raised an eyebrow, still holding the letter in your hand. “What is this? Some sort of... Yule tree tradition I wasn’t aware of?”
Loki’s expression shifted, and he looked almost bashful for a moment. “It’s new. After the storytelling, I thought it might be a good idea for the children to write down their wishes. I gave them the task of hanging them on the tree, hoping the magic of the season might make them come true.”
You blinked, surprised. “You—did you get the children to do this?” You shook your head, your tone softening as you looked at him in a way you hadn’t before. “That’s... a really thoughtful gesture, Loki.”
“I may have a flair for splendor,” Loki admitted with a small shrug, his voice laced with both humility and pride, “but even I can recognize the value of sincerity. Not everything must be a grand display of power.” He gestured toward the tree, his gaze lingering on the little letters. “Their wishes deserved more than a fleeting moment. Why not bind them to the spirit of Yule? A reminder that even the smallest dreams can take root and grow into something magnificent.”
You looked back at the tree, your heart feeling full as you saw the wishes swaying gently in the breeze. For a brief moment, the disarray of the previous days, the stress, and all the uncertainty melted away. It felt peaceful, in a way you hadn’t expected. The simplicity of the wishes, the hope behind them, made everything feel just a little bit more magical.
“You’ve thought this through, haven’t you?” you asked softly, the weight of your words more sincere than you’d meant. “I didn’t expect this side of you. You’re a bit of a softy in disguise.”
Loki smirked, his eyes glinting with a playfulness that only he could pull off, though a hint of warmth remained in his tone. "I am many things, but I would hardly call myself soft. My genius is unrivaled, my charm is clearly undeniable, but I am far from sentimental."
He paused, the playfulness momentarily fading as he regarded you with a softer look. "But even the most enigmatic of gods can have their... moments," he added quietly, his gaze lingering on you before quickly flashing back to his usual impish grin. "Don’t tell anyone, though. It would ruin my reputation."
You tilted your head, your gaze softening as you considered his words. There was something in the way he spoke, something unguarded that made you pause. You gave him a small, knowing smile, your tone teasing but with an underlying sincerity. "I guess you do have your moments of wisdom, after all," you said, your voice warm. "I always thought you were all about grandeur and spectacle, but I guess even someone like you knows the power of the little things."
You leaned in just slightly, your smile still in place, but there was a flicker of curiosity in your eyes. "It’s funny," you mused, your words soft, "I didn’t expect this side of you. I guess we all have our layers, don’t we?"
Loki smiled, a touch of pride in his eyes, but it was a softer, more genuine pride than you were used to. “You’d be surprised how much thought I put into things sometimes.” His voice lowered a little, almost as though he was sharing something personal. “Not everything has to be grand or spectacular to matter. Sometimes, it’s the simple gestures that can mean the most.”
You turned back to the tree, your fingers lightly brushing the edges of the next letter you picked. “This is really special, Loki.” Your voice was quieter now, almost reverent as you took in the sight of all the letters hanging on the tree. “You’ve given them something to look forward to and to believe in.”
Loki stepped closer, his eyes never leaving the tree. “I suppose I’ve learned a few things over the years. Not everything has to be perfect for it to be meaningful.”
As you pulled away from the tree, your eyes lingered on the sparkling ornaments for just a moment longer. You turned to Loki, who was still standing nearby, his hands lightly brushing the branches as if contemplating something deeper. There was a warmth in your chest, a quiet understanding of the thought and care that had gone into making this Yule truly special.
"Thank you," you said softly, your voice full of sincerity. "I don’t think I ever would’ve thought of this. It’s perfect."
Loki glanced at you, his gaze softening. Before he could respond, you stood up on your tiptoes and, without thinking, placed a quick, affectionate kiss on his cheek. His eyes widened in surprise, the briefest of blushes flickering across his cheeks before he masked it with his usual playful composure.
"If I’d known something as small as this would grant me such a delicacy, I would’ve done it sooner," he teased, his voice still carrying the usual mischievous undertone, though there was a flicker of something else in his eyes—something a little warmer, a little softer.
You rolled your eyes, fighting a smile as you stepped back, your face a little flushed. "Don’t push your luck, Mischief," you replied, the hint of a challenge in your tone.
He chuckled, raising a brow. "Oh, I never push, darling. I simply nudge… gently," he added with his signature smirk returning, as if he hadn’t just been caught a bit off guard by the unexpected tenderness.
As you shared that moment, something unspoken passed between you—an understanding, a shift in the air, but nothing too bold. Yet, both of your hearts seemed to beat a little faster, and the space between you felt just a little more charged than before.
The royal courtyard had been transformed into a winter wonderland. Strings of golden lights intertwined with frosted branches, casting a warm glow across the snow-covered ground. A towering evergreen stood at the center, adorned with shimmering ornaments and glowing runes that pulsed faintly with magic. Tables laden with Asgardian delicacies lined the perimeter, and a faint melody floated through the air, played by an ensemble of musicians stationed near the tree.
As the first portal shimmered open, Jane Foster stepped through, pulling her coat tighter against the chill. Her expression lit up at the sight of Thor, who bounded over with his usual exuberance. “Jane!” he called, his voice booming even in the open air. “At last! Welcome to Asgard’s Yule celebration!”
“Thor,” Jane laughed as he enveloped her in a bear hug. “You’re going to squash me before I even get to enjoy the festivities.”
Before she could say more, another portal opened with a soft hum, revealing a group of familiar faces. Tony Stark was the first to step out, his eyes immediately scanning the scene. “Interesting,” he drawled, tugging his scarf tighter. “Looks like someone’s been raiding the Hallmark aisle. Did you do this, Reindeer Games?”
Loki, who had been leaning casually against one of the pillars at the edge of the courtyard, arched an eyebrow. “Ah, Tin Man,” he said, his tone dripping with mockery. “I see your sense of fashion is as middling as ever. And no, I don’t sully my talents with mere decorations.”
“Sure you don’t,” Tony shot back, already making his way toward one of the tables. “But I’ll bet you were in charge of the drinks. Let’s see if they’re as pretentious as you are.”
Steve Rogers stepped through the portal next, his hands tucked into his jacket pockets. He took a moment to take in the scene, a small smile tugging at his lips. “This is… something alright,” he said quietly.
Thor clapped him on the back with enough force to make him stagger slightly. “Is it not magnificent? Tonight, my friends, we celebrate in true Asgardian style! Food, drink, and merriment for all!”
Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton followed close behind, their sharp eyes surveying the courtyard. “This is cozy,” Natasha remarked dryly. Her gaze flicked to Loki. “I’m surprised you’re not sulking in a corner somewhere or plotting mischief.”
“I’m afraid I must disappoint you, Agent Romanoff,” Loki replied smoothly, his smirk just this side of smug. “My mischief is already in motion.”
You, who had been overseeing the final touches on the feast, approached the group with a welcoming smile. “Glad you all could make it, guys,” you said, your breath fogging slightly in the cold air. “I wasn’t sure if Asgardian traditions would be your thing.”
“Oh, traditions are fine, Skittles,” Tony replied, already holding a goblet of mead he’d managed to acquire. “But I’m here for the food. And maybe to see if Frosty over there pulls off anything entertaining.”
Bruce Banner shuffled over, his smile soft and unassuming. “Thanks for having us,” he said. “It’s… nice to get a break from everything.”
As the group began to mingle, the dynamics unfolded naturally. Jane and Bruce struck up a conversation about the science behind the glowing runes on the tree, with Thor chiming in enthusiastically about the enchantments. Natasha and Clint drifted toward the weapons display near the courtyard’s edge, their interest piqued by the craftsmanship.
Tony, meanwhile, found himself circling back to Loki. “So, puny god,” he began, taking a sip of his drink. “What’s the over-under on you pulling some kind of elaborate prank tonight?”
Loki’s lips curled into a slow, deliberate smirk. “Stark, if I were to indulge in such trivialities, you would not see them coming. But I do hope you enjoy yourself tonight. I’d hate for you to feel… out of place.”
You, who had been listening from a few steps away, couldn’t help but laugh softly. “Don’t encourage him, Tony. He doesn’t need the help.”
“Oh, I’m not encouraging him, Tinkerbell,” Tony replied with a grin. “I’m just testing his limits.”
Steve, who had been quietly observing, walked over to Thor and gestured toward the massive Yule log near the tree. “So… what’s the story with that?”
Thor grinned broadly. “Ah, the Yule log! Its lighting marks the official start of the festivities. A sacred moment, my friend. You’ll see soon enough!”
Nearby, Jane sidled up to you, her tone curious. “This is your first Yule celebration, right? How are you holding up?”
You smiled, glancing toward Loki, who was now demonstrating his seiðr for a small group of curious onlookers. The green-hued magic danced in the air, forming intricate shapes that captivated everyone watching. “It’s overwhelming,” you admitted. “But it’s magical. I can see why this means so much to everyone.”
Jane followed your gaze, then smirked knowingly. “And I’m sure a certain dark prince has nothing to do with that sentiment?”
Before you could reply, Brunnhilde appeared, a mischievous gleam in her eyes. “Oh, she’s smitten, no doubt about it. But don’t worry, sweet cheeks, I’m sure brooding stuff over there will find some way to complicate things before the night’s over.”
“Val’,” you groaned, your cheeks warming.
“What?” she replied with a grin, lifting her goblet. “It’s Yule. A little mischief and romance are practically mandatory.”
The playful banter dissolved into laughter, and soon the courtyard was alive with the sound of merriment as more guests continued to arrive, setting the stage for a celebration no one would forget.
⠀
Soon enough, the air in the courtyard hummed with anticipation as the gathering crowd turned toward the massive Yule log stationed near the towering evergreen tree. The log, carved with intricate patterns of Norse runes and adorned with garlands of evergreen and holly, rested on an iron stand at the heart of the celebration.
Thor stood before it, Stormbreaker gripped tightly in his hand, his broad figure illuminated by the golden glow of the surrounding lights. The faint crackle of his lightning echoed in the air, a promise of the power about to be unleashed. Beside him stood Brunnhilde, her presence commanding as ever, a goblet in one hand and her other resting on the pommel of her sword.
The chatter of the crowd quieted as Brunnhilde raised her hand, signaling the beginning of the tradition. She stepped forward, her voice carrying with a regal authority that silenced even the most boisterous of guests.
“Friends, family, and honored guests,” she began, her tone strong yet warm, “we gather here tonight, under the light of the Yule tree and the vast expanse of the stars, to celebrate the turning of the season and the bonds we share. Yule is not merely a time of merriment—it is a time to reflect, to honor the past, and to look toward the future with hope.”
She raised her goblet slightly, her eyes sweeping across the crowd. “Tonight, as we light the Yule log, we kindle the fire of community, resilience, and renewal. Let this flame burn bright, a beacon in the dark, reminding us of the strength we find in each other. Let it mark the start of a celebration worthy of Asgard’s legacy.”
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, raising their own goblets in response. Brunnhilde stepped aside with a small, satisfied smirk, gesturing toward Thor.
“Now, who better to light the way than the God of Thunder himself?” she added, her tone laced with humor.
Thor grinned broadly, stepping forward with his usual swagger. He lifted Stormbreaker high, and the skies above seemed to darken just slightly, as though the stars themselves leaned in to watch.
“Let us welcome the light, and may it guide us through this season of joy!” He bellowed, his voice resonating through the courtyard.
With a sharp crackle, bolts of lightning arced from the axe, striking the Yule log with an explosive burst of light. The log ignited instantly, flames leaping to life and casting a warm, golden glow over the crowd. The fire danced and flickered, its light reflected in the awestruck faces of everyone present.
The warmth of the fire spread through the courtyard, both physically and metaphorically, as the crowd erupted into cheers once more. The musicians struck up a lively tune, and the celebration officially began.
You, standing toward the edge of the crowd, couldn’t help but smile in childlike wonder at the sight. The sheer spectacle, the sense of unity, and the magic of the moment were overwhelming in the best way.
Loki appeared at your side, his hands clasped behind his back, watching the scene with a faint smirk. “Thor does enjoy his dramatics,” he remarked lightly, though his tone held no malice.
You glanced at him, your smile widening. “I don’t blame him, it’s tradition,” you replied. “And it’s beautiful.”
Loki tilted his head, his gaze softening as he watched you instead of the fire. “It is,” he murmured, his voice barely audible over the hum of the crowd.
As the music picked up and the guests began to drift toward the dance floor near the Yule tree, Brunnhilde raised her goblet once more, her voice cutting through the joyous commotion.
“Let the festivities begin!” she declared, her grin wide and infectious.
With that, the courtyard came alive with laughter, music, and the sound of feet moving to the rhythm of the dance. The Yule celebration was officially underway.
⠀
The flames of the Yule log crackled and danced, casting warm golden light over the courtyard. The lively music of flutes, strings, and drums filled the air as the guests, Asgardian and Midgardian alike, joined in the festivities. Around the grand fire and beneath the glittering Yule tree, people swayed, twirled, and laughed in a joyous dance that blurred the line between realms.
You stood off to the side, catching your breath after spending most of the evening immersed in the revelry. Your cheeks were flushed from dancing—both the lively Asgardian traditional dances you had eagerly learned and the familiar Midgardian waltzes that had followed.
Your earlier conversations with the various United Nations diplomats and Midgardian guests had been engaging yet intense, requiring a level of charm and tact you hadn’t entirely realized you possessed. Between discussing Asgardian culture and bridging gaps between worlds, you had barely had a moment to yourself.
Several guests had gone out of their way to compliment you on the gifts they had received earlier in the evening. Each one was uniquely tailored: intricate wooden carvings of Yggdrasil that doubled as ornate keepsake boxes, filled with an assortment of Midgardian delicacies and Asgardian mead, or beautifully crafted quills forged from Asgardian metals, paired with sleek, modern Midgardian ink sets.
You had been stunned by their enthusiasm. The gifts, which you had initially seen in their raw, almost haphazard state under Loki’s supervision, had clearly undergone a transformation. What had once seemed overly extravagant and mismatched now carried a thoughtful elegance, seamlessly blending the traditions of both realms.
Your gaze instinctively sought Loki in the crowd. He must have changed them, you realized, your surprise mingling with an odd sense of pride. He had somehow taken what could have been a garish display and turned it into something meaningful—something that resonated with both Asgardian and Midgardian sensibilities.
Now, as you leaned lightly against a table laden with mulled wine and pastries, you allowed yourself to take it all in. The flickering light painted everything in a magical glow—the Yule tree adorned with shimmering ornaments and glowing letters, the Yule log blazing brightly, and the joyous crowd swaying in a beautiful, chaotic harmony.
You watched as an Asgardian couple paused beneath a sprig of mistletoe, sharing a quiet kiss before bursting into laughter and rejoining the dance. The sight brought a small smile to your lips, though it also sent a flutter through your chest.
“I’m surprised you’re not out there,” Loki’s voice came from behind you, smooth and teasing.
You turned to find him standing just a step away, his emerald-green tunic catching the firelight. He looked every bit the god tonight, regal and effortlessly captivating, though there was something softer in the way his eyes met yours.
“Taking a break,” you said lightly, raising an eyebrow. “Believe it or not, even I need a moment to breathe after dancing with half the delegation and learning to not trip over myself in your people’s traditional dances.”
Loki’s lips quirked into a sly smile. “I’d expect nothing less coming from you. You managed it to make it surprisingly effortless.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the small laugh that escaped. “Flattery, Mischief? You’re slipping.”
“Am I now, darling?” Loki replied, stepping closer, his tone low and playful. “Or perhaps I’m just warming up.”
You tilted your head, curious. “And why would you need to warm up?”
Loki smirked, offering his hand. “Because the best dance of the night is yet to come.”
You hesitated for a moment, your eyes narrowing in playful suspicion. “I’m not sure I trust you on this one.”
“Wise,” Loki said with a mockingly serious nod, “but not nearly as fun. Come, indulge me.”
Despite your wariness, you placed your hand in his, and he led you toward the center of the dance floor. The lively music shifted into something slower, more melodic, as you joined the other couples. Loki’s hand rested lightly on your waist, his touch surprisingly gentle, as you began to move.
As you swayed to the rhythm, you couldn’t help but glance around the crowd. Your eyes landed on Thor, Jane, and Valkyrie standing off to the side. Thor was grinning broadly, lifting his mug in a mock toast, while Jane stifled a giggle behind her hand. Valkyrie, however, made no attempt to hide her amusement, smirking as she gave you an exaggerated thumbs-up.
You rolled your eyes but felt the heat rise in your cheeks, a mixture of embarrassment and exasperation. “The Justice League is watching,” you muttered, tilting your head slightly toward the trio.
Loki followed your gaze and sighed dramatically. “Of course, they are. Discretion has never been their strong suit.”
You bit back a laugh, shaking your head. “I think they’re enjoying this more than they should.”
“Let them,” Loki said with a smirk, his voice dipping into a playful tone. “We’re far more interesting than whatever ale-induced tales Thor was spinning moments ago.”
“You’re full of surprises tonight,” you said softly as you swayed together, your voice barely audible over the music.
“Am I?” Loki arched an eyebrow, his smirk teasing but his gaze steady.
“You are,” you confirmed. “I know about the gifts—thank you for listening to me, by the way. This… whole thing; this isn’t what I expected from you.”
Loki chuckled, his voice low and warm. “Perhaps you haven’t been paying close enough attention. I’m more than just mischief and chaos, you know.”
As the song came to an end, you felt the faintest tug on your hand. Loki had led you just a step away from the tree, where another sprig of mistletoe dangled from its branches.
You glanced up, realization dawning as you looked back at him. “Seriously? A mistletoe prank?”
Loki’s lips curled into a sly smile, but there was a flicker of something softer in his gaze. “Oh, I assure you, this is no prank,” he replied, his voice smooth as ever.
You narrowed your eyes, your arms crossing over your chest. “If this is about everything—about me pushing you into putting all of this together—then you can save the theatrics. I know you probably still want to argue about it, but I won’t engage in some pitiful argument of pride. We both did well.” Your tone was firm, though there was an edge of exasperation beneath it.
Loki’s expression shifted, his usual air of mischief melting into something gentler. “You think I went through all this trouble merely to settle a disagreement?” He took a step closer, his voice quieter now, almost earnest. “This isn’t about proving a point or one-upping anyone. It’s about—” He paused, his gaze steady on yours. “You.”
You blinked, caught off guard by the sudden sincerity in his tone. “Me?”
“You, who somehow managed to coax an entire realm into celebrating something most would have dismissed as frivolous,” Loki said, a rare softness coloring his words. “You, who demanded I find meaning in the smallest of gestures, who taught me that joy doesn’t always come in grand schemes or victories but in shared moments like this.”
Your breath hitched at his words, and for a moment, you were unsure of what to say. Loki took your silence as permission to continue, his hand lifting to brush a stray strand of hair from your face. “This mistletoe isn’t some clever ploy or a prank,” he said, his voice dropping to a near whisper. “It’s a reminder. A way to say ‘thank you’ for showing me that despite everything, even I am capable of something... good.”
You felt your heart skip a beat, your earlier irritation melting away under the weight of his words. “Loki...”
“Now,” he murmured as he brought you closer to him, his gaze dropping to your lips and then back to your eyes, “are you going to kiss me, or shall I be forced to endure yet another smug grin from Thor when he realizes I failed?”
You let out a soft laugh despite yourself, shaking your head. “You’re incorrigible.”
“I am,” Loki replied, his smirk softening into something more sincere as his voice lowered, “and I dare say I’ve been patient long enough. Now, I demand my gift for my good behavior.”
Unable to help yourself, you closed the distance, your lips brushing his in a kiss that was hesitant at first, testing the waters. But as Loki’s hand tightened ever so slightly on your waist, and your fingers brushed the back of his neck, the kiss deepened, warm and unhurried. It was as though the world around you had melted away, leaving just the two of you beneath the gently falling snow, surrounded by the golden glow of the firelight.
The moment stretched, but just as you parted, the sound of raucous cheers startled you both. Loki sighed, glancing over his shoulder to see Thor lifting Jane into the air triumphantly, having spun her around in an exaggerated display of holiday spirit. Jane, laughing but apparently exasperated, swatted at Thor to put her down, which only made the crowd cheer louder.
Loki groaned, rubbing his temple as if pained. “Leave it to my oaf of a brother to ruin a perfectly good moment.”
You laughed, your eyes bright as you leaned in and kissed him again, this time quick and playful. Pulling back, you smiled at him, your voice soft as you said, “Merry Christmas, Mischief.”
Loki’s lips curled into a rare, genuine smile, his eyes alight with something tender.
“Merry Yule, darling.”

AN: What? What's this? A Christmas miracle? Have I come home for the holidays with a classic 2012 Loki's at The Tower post Avengers fic?
Summary: Loki finds himself rather bored at the mandatory Tower holiday party. Lucily someone catches his attention. Once he's been seen at the party enough, he takes her off to the little apartment he has secred for himself for a private party that will leave her decorated, gasping and questioning where her allegiances lie.
CW: 3rd person, female Reader/unnamed female OC, Dub con, Fem receiving oral, M receiving oral, bondage with christmas lights, creampie, vaginal fingering, dom/sub undertones...
Loki couldn’t take his eyes off her. It was just as well. The party was boring and if not for being forced, he’d have left within the first thirty minutes. Attendance was mandatory, however, and it wouldn’t be doing him any favors to buck against this pathetic little order.
This party could hardly compare to the minor social hours he and Thor had attended in Asgard. The food was subpar; the drink was weak, and the music was not live. That final point offended him the most. The excuse they provided him with when questioned was security- as if there hadn’t been more than adequate time to clear a band.
At least she was there to entertain his eyes.
The little red dress she wore could have been painted onto her body. Every stitch of fabric clung to her curves, leaving little work for Loki to imagine what she would look like naked, spread out on his bed. His eyes traced each swell and curve of her body. She would be soft under a man, of that he was sure.
Heels sparked in the light, making sure his eyes were drawn to her feet only to trace up her legs. The short hem and the sparkling feet accentuated the length of her legs, making them look to go on for miles, though she wasn’t as tall as some.
She worked for Stark in some capacity. He had gathered that much easily, listening in on conversations. The details beyond that didn’t matter to him. They were as unimportant as the stray sparkles of glitter shed from her shoes as she danced with one man after another, leaving a subtle trail of where she had been.
The shoes were new, still shedding sparkles and purchased for this event. Between dances, Loki’d catch glimpses of her, running her fingers over red marks on her feet as she tried to soothe the ache.
She hadn’t known it when she picked out those shoes in the little shop or perhaps in the comfort of her home behind the screen of a computer, but those shoes would lead to doom and salvation for her.
Loki watched as she excused herself from the party, slipping her foot back into her shoe. She walked, a slight limp in her step from her aching feet and champagne glass in hand. No one looked for her while he waited, watching the door she had exited from. He had expected no one to follow or look for her. She had been mostly alone the whole hour she had been there, but he couldn’t be too sure.
What no one else would do, he did.
He set his glass on the table as he passed, walking as if he owned the building. He held his shoulders back and his spine straight. Those who dared to meet his gaze were rewarded with a cold look down his nose as he continued on, slipping through the doors he had watched her exit through.
The delicate click clack of her heels down the hall lead him to her, though with the trail of glitter flakes he did not need the help. His steps were near silent, the hard sole of his shoes muffled by a cushion of magic, suffocating the sound of each step he took.
It didn’t take long for him to close the distance. His swiftness was rewarded with the sight of her, leaning against a railing. She looked down at the city lights outside the window. The tower lights were dim, set low to be easy on drunk eyes and to set a more intimate mood, making the sparkling lights outside stand out in the darkness.
There were strands of holiday lights strung all over the hallway, just as there had been in the ballroom. These small bulbs provided most of the light in the spaces, casting a warm glow over everything while allowing for deep, dark shadows to take up residence in corners and under tables.
“Was the party not to your liking?” Loki’s voice startled her out of her thoughts as he stepped up next to her. The yelp that escaped her throat pleased him, drawing his lips into a charming smile.
“Oh, you scared me.” She clutched a hand over her pounding heart, flinching back as she realized just how close the stranger had gotten to her.
“My deepest apologies,” Loki waited for her to answer his original question and, after a few moments, she did.
“I’m kind of new here still,” she shrugged. “When you don’t know anyone, it’s hard to enjoy a party. Not that it’s not a nice party.” She quickly added the last bit after a moment, realizing that he was one of those who, for whatever reason, existed on the upper floors of her boss’ tower.
It was easy to forget that these people were The Avengers and The Avengers adjacent people. They were important, not just because they were beautiful, rich and, in the case of Tony Stark, her boss. Each one gave such an air of normality around them when she would run into them in the halls. It’s something she couldn’t explain if asked.
“I care not if you speak ill of Stark’s party.” Loki reassured. “I find it rather dull myself.”
“Why’s that?” she took a long drink from what was left of her glass, eyes focused on the glittering city lights. He made her nervous.
Loki looked down at her, taking the moment to admire her breasts in the low cut dress. He could only see a little more from this angle than he could before. The fabric clung close to her skin, protecting what little modesty her dress allowed. What he could see told him her breasts looked natural, not the plastic that woman here insisted on filling themselves with. He could also see that the fabric was thin, a risky move for a work party.
“Asgardian parties are rather… lustful affairs,” he said after a moment. That caused her eyes to snap to his. “The food is sweet and rich and our wine is as strong and free flowing as our affections.”
“Oh.” was all she could think to say as he plucked her glass from her fingers and swallowed the last of her drink without shame.
“We revel in all pleasures when we celebrate. We feast on everything, including the body.” Loki’s charming smile seemed so at odds with the words he said.
“O-oh” She wasn’t sure what she should say to that. Her wide eyes were trained on him, taking in the bluish tint to his slick black curls as the fairy lights twinkled around you.
That was just the reaction Loki wanted.
“Your dress and heels say that you had desired to be feasted upon. Have you gotten enough of the attention you craved?”
“Oh, sir, I wasn’t trying to-” She turned to face him, only to find him far closer than she had expected. Once again, as she was lost in the lights, he had closed the distance between them, causing her to back against the railing in surprise.
“Oh, but you were.” Loki reached out and pulled a few strands of her hair forward, letting the hair flow over his fingers. “Why else would you wear something so short?”
He sent a pointed look down at where the hemline of her dress gave way to her thighs before dragging his eyes up to focus on her breasts. “Or something so low?”
“I didn’t-” It was a lie. He knew she knew that. While it may not have been intentional at the time, attention was exactly why she dressed the way she did.
“Shoes to sparkle and draw the eye.” His eyes hungerly followed on the journey over her body his words were taking. “High hem to reward the eye for dragging its way up your legs. Thin fabric to caress your body as if it was but air, or perhaps a bedsheet. A low neckline to highlight your breasts and simple jewelry to make a man think you are bed ready.”
“Excuse me, I should go.” She tried to dart away, but Loki’s arms were quick to cage her in, palms resting against the handrail and fingers wrapping firmly around it.
“Must you?” Loki spoke softly, his voice rumbling in his chest. “I’ve feasted on Midgardian wine. I’ve feasted on Midgardian food. Now, I’d like to feast on a Midgardian woman.”
“I think you’ve got the wrong idea.” She struggled to make her voice sound as sure as she felt she needed to be. There was no way sleeping with Loki would be good for her career. But who would know?
Without warning, the railing behind her gave way. Fear flooded into her as the feeling of falling sent panic through her nervous system. She had no choice but to throw her arms forward and around Loki’s body for safety, squeezing her eyes shut. Everyone always said these insanely tall buildings were safe and yet here she was, getting ready to fall to her death because a stupid railing gave out.
Loki wrapped his arms around her as her feet left the floor. She felt herself moving backward, held by Loki’s body. They were not falling. He did not fall with her. Opening her eyes, the world shimmered around her in a shower of glowing green sparks.
Then she was in a different room. The railing hadn’t given out. She wasn’t in danger of falling. She was perfectly safe.
“There, now.” Loki said, not taking his arms from around her. “We can decide in private if we wish to continue the little party.”
“Where are we?” She tried to ignore the feeling of him pressed against her, battle strong body hidden under a well fitted black suit.
“Just a little apartment I rented for the weekend.” Loki said as he let her slip from his arms, fingertips trailing down her back and around her waist and greedily taking in the feel of the nearly nonexistent fabric with every lingering touch.
“It’s beautiful,” she whispered, momentarily taken aback by the glittering lights.
Whereas Stark’s party was flashy and exciting in its decor, there was a quiet calm to the apartment Loki had rented. Loki had no women in mind when he secured the short-term rental, but he had a desire for something more akin to the yuletide times of Asgard.
Warm woods, twinkling lights, and plenty of candles and fireplaces littered the space. While solstice on this planet was past by a few days, that didn’t stop the desire to let fires burn through the darkest nights of winter. It had been engrained in him as the only right way to spend the cold, dark season.
With a flick of his fingers, he lit the fireplaces and candles, bringing a living warmth to the space that the warm electric string lights could not give.
“Do you wish to leave?” Loki said, stepping closer to her.
“I don’t know.” She couldn’t help but feel at peace in the space. The warmth made her want to be there. “I don’t usually…”
The sentence hung left unfinished. She didn’t want to put words in his mouth or make assumptions. The reality is she rarely found one-night stands with strangers to be fun. Loki had a way with words, talking in riddles, saying a lot and yet leaving so much insinuated at best.
“Why not?” Loki asked, trailing a fingertip up her exposed arm.
“I just- I don’t usually enjoy… it with strangers. Attention is fine, flirting is fun but actually, with strangers,” she tried to make herself step away, feet failing to give you more than an inch.
“Are they bad lovers?” Loki asked, inching closer to his prey.
“No. Maybe?” She willed herself to shut up, but his cold blue eyes and the warmth of the room worked together to have her under a spell she couldn’t seem to escape. “I just am picky.”
“Than tell me what you like.” Loki circled her, sweeping her hair off the back of her neck. Loki’s breath fanned over her skin as he hovered behind her, touching only with fingertips.
“I can’t. I couldn’t.”
“Do you like your men soft and sweet?” Loki placed a chaste kiss against her shoulder, nuzzling her neck softly with his nose as his fingertips gave way to the palm of his hand wrapping around her, resting softly on her belly as he pulled her back against his chest.
Her breath caught in her throat and she wanted to answer, but couldn’t. For the whole of her life, she struggled with sexual frustration, unable to ask for what she wanted. It was dangerous. It hurt feelings. Men took it personally or as an attack. It was better to just accept what she was given.
Was that any different with Loki? Offending him was so much more dangerous.
“No?” he hummed against her skin. “Do you like it hard and demanding?”
Loki’s grip on her waist turned firm. His smile turned sharp as he littered love bites against her shoulder. Blunt nails dug into her as she weakly tried to pull away from him.
She shuddered with the change, pathetically trying to keep her reactions under control. In truth, she knew little what she wanted because she had been so scared to voice any interests, to explore anything.
“Do you like to be taken? Hard and fiercely? Do you wish to have what I can give you thrust upon you?” Loki’s hand dragged itself up from her stomach to cup her breast. He could feel her heart pounding under his fingertips with his words, giving her away.
“Yes,” she squeaked as he squeezed.
“The fabric is so thin it almost feels as if there is nothing between your breast and my hand.” Loki mused, biting harder on her shoulder.
She moaned and squirmed into him as his fingers pinched her nipple at the same time.
“You like that?” He licked where he bit, as if that would somehow soothe the hurt. “I will fuck you just how you like it.”
“I don’t know.” She wasn’t sure what she didn’t know.
“Than we will find out together.” Loki promised, determined to feast upon his prize.
Leaving her breast, Loki pushed up and forward until he was cupping her jaw and pulling her to look back at him over her shoulder. He was ready to meet her, his lips savagely latching upon hers. Teeth grazed along the plump swell of her lower lip.
“Wait.” She pulled back. “I don’t usually kiss unless I’m in a relationsh-”
“You will kiss me,” Loki ordered, his lips cutting her words off. She tried to pull away again and was rewarded with his fingers tangling in the hair at the back of her head.
She wasn’t sure if she gave in willingly or not, but she kissed him back. His biting lips felt good against hers. The pressure of his fist in her hair, the pull against her scalp, made her tingle in a way she hadn’t been able to explain.
“Is that what you want?” Loki asked, pulling away. “Do you want my fist in your hair? Do you want me to dominate you and put you exactly where I want you, take you exactly how I want to and to give you orgasms exactly how I want to?”
“I’ve never,”
“I will ruin you for other men,” he promised, pulling her deeper into the rental, toward the bedroom by her hair and his body behind her. “You’ll know exactly what it is you want and no one will give it to you like I can. You’ll pray for me in the darkness while other men leave you unsatisfied.”
Loki pushed her against the wall and pulled the flimsy cups covering her breasts to the side, exposing both. The tension of the displaced fabric and the straps still on her shoulders presented her naked breasts to him, pebbled nipples begging for his attention.
He palmed her breasts, taking his time enjoying the way they filled his hands. He rolled and tweaked her nipples periodically, enjoying the way her breath would hitch in her throat and the way her back would arch with each painful pinch. She was ever so responsive.
“I do love the feeling of natural breasts.” Loki leaned down and ran his tongue over a pink nipple, slathering it with saliva before blowing an unnaturally cold breath on it. She gasped as the frosty cold bit at her sensitive skin. The bud of her nipple responded eagerly, tiny muscles tensing and bunching tp pull the skin tighter.
“You like the cold,” he told her, as if she hadn’t noticed this about herself at the same time. “You like the pain. You like the loss of control.”
Loki pushed her arms back against the wall when she reached out for him, hands seeking to explore his suit clad body as he was exploring her.
“Please?” she asked hopefully.
“You’ve not even begun to beg. You’ll touch me when I say.”
Loki pulled her from the wall, not giving her a moment for her legs to steady. Angles tangled together, making it easy for him to push her down on the bed. She bounced, breasts moving freely.
“Sir,”
He cut her off. “You will say my name while I take you.”
Loki’s hands rested on her knees, strong fingers gripping her. Large hands pushed them apart so that he could step between them. Smoothe, warm skin spread out under his palms as he pushed the hem of her tight little dress higher and higher.
“Wait,” she said, pushing herself up onto the palms of her hands. “Loki,”
“No,” he said simply. “You’re not wearing a single scrap of fabric under this dress, are you? You want me to stop, so I don’t see how badly you wanted to catch someone’s attention. You want me to stop, so I don’t see how much you’re enjoying this.”
Loki wrapped his hands around the back of her thighs when the dress bunched under her ass and wouldn’t go any higher. He lifted and dragged her toward the edge of the bed, her dress rolling under her lower back and exposing her naked sex to his eyes.
Greedily, he took in the sight of her with her hair spread out around her head, dress around her waist and breasts framed by the cups. Her knees were on either side of his thighs as he gazed at her. Oh, what a little present she was.
When she again tried to raise up on her hands, Loki pushed her down harshly with a palm to her chest. Tsking her, he fell to his knees as he slapped her pubic mound lightly.
She had been waxed, giving away the hope for a sexual encounter even though she had denied it. Shoving her thigh up, he opened her sex to him, a delicious fruit he was eager to feast upon.
“Let me taste you,” Loki demanded.
“No,” she again rose up but found her elbows struggled to support her weight when the palm of his hand struck her sex softly.
“I told you, I will have you.” It didn’t go unnoticed by Loki how her thighs twitched at the slight sting of the strike. “You like it when I strike your cunt?”
“No,” again she was on her elbows looking down at him.
He struck her cunt again, the sound of the contact against her folds echoing through the room with each strike. She flinched with each stinging slap, arched her back and slick built up at her entrance. Though his blows were far from hard, they stung more as his palm spread her wetness. The gasps that sounded more and more like moans were music to his ears.
Just as she began to really enjoy it, Loki grabbed her thighs in his hands and licked a long stipe up her slit. Her slick gathered on his tongue as he eagerly sampled her arousal. His tongue twisted and caressed her clit, only to disappear as she panted.
“Do you still desire I stop?” Loki asked, only to instantly repeat the action. He waited patiently for her answer as he took her clit between his lips. Harshly, he sucked and teased at it as she pleaded, though neither he nor she was sure exactly what for.
“Please.” Never had she really enjoyed receiving oral before. It always felt like a tease, almost good than over.
Loki was skillful with his mouth and well versed in reading the way his partner responded to his touches. When her body seemed to tighten up no more, he knew it was time for a change.
Reaching out with a fingertip, he marveled at how soft the folds of her cunt were under his touch. It was as if he was caressing the petals of a flower as he ran his finger tips through her folds, coating his digits in her slick. She flinched from his hand, not expecting the change of contact.
He followed the trail of wetness, finding its source and dipping in. Her body eagerly swallowed his finger as she gasped. Warm, wet muscles clenched and fluttered around his finger as he curled it inside her, stroking her soft walls.
Dragging the pad of his finger firmly against the top of her canal, he withdrew it. She arched under the pressure, tilting her pelvis forward in a attempt to run from the pressure.
Loki hummed in satisfaction, adding a second finger as he worked into her again. She was tight around him, body fighting while he pushed his fingers apart from deep inside her. She rewarded him with the sweetest sounds as he pumped his curling fingers into her again and again. Each thrust had her core tightening.
Fingers and tongue worked together as he played her sopping cunt like an instrument. The sounds of his fingers squelching in and out combined with her ragged breathing and gasping moans to make his favorite music.
She was embarrassed to fall apart under his touch. Throwing her arm over her mouth, she muffled her moans. Each breath that filled her lungs came slowly. She held her lungs under tight control. The way her walls contracted around him and the twitching of her folds under his tongue told the story of a restrained orgasm.
Loki knew she didn’t know what she wanted. It was scary for her to take the type of pleasure she wanted, she needed, from him. There was a world of immense pleasure she was too timid to reach out and grab.
He would thrust that pleasure upon her. Her eyes would be open to the pleasure she hadn’t dared to dream about. No longer would she be able to settle for mediocre love making. She would long for primal sex, for his hands upon her flesh and his direction.
As he rose from her soaked sex, she reached down and ran her fingers through his hair. For a moment, Loki allowed her to indulge in the affectionate touch. The lovemaking she was used to was soft, caring. He would allow her the moment of what she knew.
Once that moment was gone, he snatched her wrist up and away from him. He rose quickly and folded over her, snagging her other wrist as well and pushing them up. With her wrists pinned over her head, he hovered above her. The thin dress did little to cover her abdomen as she stretched out below him.
There was nothing left to Loki’s imagination as he raked his eyes over her exposed breasts. Her chest rose and fell with shallow breaths, desperate attempts to maintain control. Squirming under him, she made a writhing temptation.
Loki lowered his torso just enough for her breasts to brush against him. Nipples rubbed against the fabric of his shirt. When he had discarded his jacket, she never knew. Loki had slowly leached the heat from the room and the cooler air had her nipples pulled tight and firm, pleasure sparking with every light touch.
Loki kissed her neck harshly, leaving a trail of wet kisses and harsh nips down her neck as he worked his way to her breasts. The sensitive bud of her nipple in his mouth had her mewling under him. For as much as she had tried to reject him, she was quickly becoming desperate for him.
“Remember Darling, I touch you, you do not touch me.”
The reminder spoken over her wet nipple, cool breath fanning over her, fell on deaf ears. Bare legs ran up his legs, wrapping around his waist. He growled a warning into her breast as she hooked her ankles together and tried to get some friction against her core.
The disobedience was rewarded with a harsh nip to her nipple.
“Ow!” She jerked from him. The way she flinched had her legs tighten around him.
“I said no touching.” Loki warned. “And yet you do not listen.”
“Sorry.” She whimpered as his tongue danced over the stinging nipple, yet her legs did not fall away from around him.
“Clearly, you cannot be expected to follow simple directions.” Loki pulled away from her. “I’ll have to do something to solve that.”
“What do you-” The sharp, stinging slap of Loki’s hand against her sopping wet pussy forced her question to end as a yelp.
“Take the dress off,” Loki ordered, as he looked around the room.
He could create cords, ropes, ribbons, or straps, but they didn’t seem quite right. This was a festive fuck, and he needed something to embody what the holiday season had become in Midgard.
Reaching out, he grabbed a string of lights running along the headboard and gave them a yank. The strand of lights fell in a twinkling rope. Another yank had the lights unplugged and they should have gone dark. Loki ensured they continued to twinkle and flash with a twitch of his finger.
“Stand up.” Loki’s eyes traveled over her body as she climbed to her feet, naked before him. “Turn around.”
“What are you doing?” she timidly asked, though she did as he said. She was a quick learner.
Loki grabbed her wrists and tied a loop of twinkling wire around them. He wound the wire cord up her arms, ignoring how she jerked and protested, knowing well that she didn’t really mean her protests. The twinkling lights wrapped around her chest, above and below her breasts, framing them in sparking lights.
He pulled each layer of wire tight around her. Loki spared not a thought about how the bulbs would surely bite into her skin. The way the lights lit up her naked skin mesmerized him.
“My, don’t you look like a goddess?” He was speaking more to himself than to her.
He stalked around her, taking in his latest art project in all her glory before reaching out, running his hand over the swells of her breasts. Shadows played over her skin, highlighting over every curve, casting shadows down her stomach.
He tweaked a nipple just as she relaxed. The gasp she let out told him much of how excited she was. He didn’t need her to voice the excitement, though. The slick running between her thighs as he pushed her to bend over the bed told him more than enough.
The lights were not long enough for him to use them to secure her legs as well, but that was okay. Loki used a silken black ribbon to tie her ankles to each foot of the bed, holding her legs spread wide as she struggled and failed to put herself in a righted position.
“Now that you’re all tied up, you won’t be sneaking any little extra touches, will you?” Loki stood behind her as he spoke, hands resting on the round curve of her ass. His thumbs caressed her, smoothing circles into the soft skin.
“It’s not comfortable,” she whined.
Loki slapped her ass in response, the sting pulling a shocked gasp from her. “It’s not intended to be.”
He patted her exposed cunt, the sound of the soft slaps far sharper than the strikes actually were. Her cunt was soaked, slick running from her opening in eager streams. She flinched from the contact, though he rubbed her folds soothingly after finishing the series of slaps.
Did she flinch from the sting or from the shame? Perhaps from both.
“You can try to tell me you don’t like this, but your body tells me another story.” Loki dipped three fingers into her opening. He leaned over her, using the leverage to push them deep inside. “You can try to tell yourself that you don’t like this, but you’ll long for this night for the rest of your life.”
“Loki,” she didn’t know what she was begging him for as she twisted and turned her torso on the bed. Each attempt to relive the pain from the lights digging into her skin just resulted in different lights pushing harder into her.
Loki unbuttoned his shirt and slipped it off his shoulders. As his belt buckle clanked in his hands, he watched as she shifted to look behind her. She was very interested in seeing what Loki was working with, even as she pretended to be far too timid to as him to continue.
He pulled the belt from the loops in one smooth motion. For a moment, he considered just throwing it aside, but changed his mind. Folding the belt, he watched as she watched him, wide eyes looking over her shoulder. Loki swung it softly, enjoying the way she flinched harder from the contact.
“Did that one sting?” Loki didn’t wait for her to answer before softly striking her ass again with the belt on the other ass cheek.
The final strike was against her center, slick smearing over the fine leather. She yelped and jerked as far forward as her limited range of motion allowed. Tears gathered in her eyes as pain radiated out from her wet sex. Only when the belt thumped to the floor, did she begin to relax, peeking once again over her shoulder at him timidly.
He unbuttoned his pants and pushed the zipper down as he watched her watching him. There was no layer of underwear. As soon as the zipper fell far enough, his cock sprang free. The lack of tension sent his pants falling to the ground in a pile.
A twitch of his fingers had the clothes removed from around his feet. It wouldn’t do to be tripping over it. Walking around, Loki climbed onto the bed in front of her, sitting back on his heels.
She had to twist her neck awkwardly to see him. Most of what she could comfortably look at were his thighs and how his cock proudly stood up in front of his abdomen, just as Loki had intended.
“Do you wish to taste me?” Loki asked as she licked her dry lips and nodded her head hesitantly.
Loki leaned over her, grabbing the wire wrapped around her arms, pulled behind her back and lifted her up. If not for the assistance of his magic, the wires would not have supported her weight. He supported her body with a shelf of magic, a bed that carried just enough of her weight to keep the wires from causing any real damage.
It was as much a performance as it was an act of control.
Shuffling forward on his shins, Loki presented his erect member to her.
“Taste it,” he ordered. “Taste me. Take a God into your mouth and perform an act of worship.”
She did just that, tentatively licking the tip of his cock at first as Loki held it pointed at her mouth. She wrapped her lips around his velvety head as best she could and sucked hard, tongue swirling around him while she did so.
Loki scooted forward, thrusting lightly as he did so. He was careful not to push too far into her too quickly, giving her time to adjust her lips and mouth to his size. Soon he was thrusting into her mouth and she was choking, coughing around his cock as hit the back of her throat.
Loki watched her as he fucked into her mouth. There was nothing he didn’t see. He watched how her fingers would flex, straighten and curl as her throat contracted around him. He took in the way the lights on the wire dug into her skin, making ever so slight adjustments when they dug too harshly.
Spit ran down her chin and tears gathered in her eyes as he hit the back of her throat again and again. Mascara ran as wide eyes looked up at him, pleading.
“You’re such a mess.” Loki said, pulling the shaft of his cock out and leaving his head inside, so she could not speak without doing so around him. “What a beautiful mess. Who’s made you such a mess?”
“You.” The word was muffled and indistinct, only recognizable because he knew what she was trying to say.
“Say my name.” Loki ordered and she did.
The word was as muffled and fuzzy as he expected; the L being totally lost to the cock in her mouth.
“Do you want me to fuck you?” Loki asked, twitching his hips forward in shallow thrusts.
“Yes,” she tried to answer, the word almost totally a moan.
“Do you want me to use you?” Loki asked and waited for her to moan around his head again.
“Do you want me to take my pleasure from you?” Again, he waited for her to moan.
He withdrew his cock and sat back, watching as she gasped for breath. She floated, parted lips panting for breath right in front of his cock, shiny with her saliva. The cushion of magic lowered her back down onto the bed as Loki stood, walking around.
Long legs shifted her weight from one sparkling heel to the other. It was nothing more than a desperate attempt to gain stimulation. The ribbons around her ankles tightened, the length growing shorter as her heels skipped further apart on the wooden floor.
It did no good. With how he had her legs spread wide, her folds were pulled open. He could see every part of her. Shifting her weight couldn’t even buy her the friction of her folds sliding and brushing against her pretty little clit.
“You’re squirming,” Loki teased, running a finger along the twinkling wire, painfully biting into her skin. “And leaking.”
“Please,” she whimpered as he stepped behind her.
“I don’t know,” Loki hummed as he grabbed a strand of lights, pulling them from where they had been wrapped around the banister. “You don’t look quite festive enough.”
“What are you-?”
Loki ignored her question as he fed the wire under the strands wrapped around her waist. Bulbs dug into your lower back as each passed through the tight space. He hummed as he worked, a festive tune with words in a language she couldn’t understand.
Shame and desire burned inside her as he wrapped the strand of wires down between her legs. Bulbs pinched into the skin where her thighs gave way to the puffy outer lips of her bald folds. He worked the wire through the front of the strands around her waist, making a glittering, twinkling farce of panties that lit up her cunt.
The remaining wire wrapped around her thighs, each loop passing lower and lower before he tied them off at your knees. It hurt how the lights dug into her skin.
“Oh, how festive!” Loki laughed. “I have half a mind to get some ornament. Would you like that?” He rubbed his fingers up and down her soaked folds as he spoke. “Bend the wires into tight little loops around your nipples?”
He plunged three fingers hard into her core, body making an obscene squelch as he spread them wide, making room for him. She moaned, no longer able to resist the feel of his control. Shame did not leave her, though it made her desire greater.
“Perhaps that is a game for another night,” Loki mused. “You will come back to me, after all.”
Emptiness was all she could feel as he pulled his long fingers from her. She wiggled her ass at him, begging for his attention with her body. All it earned her was a sharp stinging slap to her cunt, fingers dragging over her clit as he repeated the action a second time.
“Use your words,” Loki demanded, knowing full well that asking for what she wanted would be one of the hardest things she ever did.
“Please,” she whimpered. The nonspecificity of her request earned her another punishing slap to her folds, slick splattering against her inner thighs with the stinging force. “Please, fuck me.”
“There you go,” Loki purred. “I knew you could do it, darling!”
His praise felt mocking and oh, how she liked that. The way her cunt twitched, her hole fluttering and begging for him to fill her, told him more than the timid words she said did. Slick glittered over her folds, sparking in the twinkling lights. It ran down her tights, gathering over the wires biting into the fat of her thighs.
“You like being tied up, don’t you?” He ran the head of his soft cock along her slick folds. Each pass coated him with her nectar. “You like being at my mercy, under my control. This is what you’ve craved.”
“Yes,” she moaned your answer as his head nudged her clit, shooting pleasure through her nerves. Each pass, each strike, felt like her body was at risk of becoming little more than a live wire. She realized with a start that this time, perhaps she would actually get to cum.
“Who do you want to use you?” Loki asked, nudging the head of his cock against her opening, letting her slick seep out around him.
“You,” you tried to lean back only to have his hand plant on your back, pushing the bulbs digging harsher into your skin.
“Who?” He asked again, dangerous edge to his voice.
“Loki.” His name became a moan as he slowly filled her, inching his thick cock into her once inch at a time.
“Good girl,” he praised, hand running along her sides before he wrapped his fingers around a tight loop of wire. Using that as a handle, he thrust the remaining length into her harshly, his hips slamming into her ass. The bulbs of lights dug into her sensitive skin and bit his hips, though he didn’t mind the pain.
“Oh, fuck,” she whimpered as he stretched her around him, head seated deep inside her weeping cunt.
“We’ve only just begin,” Loki laughed, pulling his cock from her slowly before ramming himself back home.
Each thrust into her brought pain. She struggled with herself, battling against the desire to submit to him, to submit to how much the pain excited her. Harsh thrusts knocked the air from her lungs as she lay on the bed, spread open for him. Fingers flexed and twitched as she tried to each out for him, to touch the man who was so brutally taking her.
His heavy balls swung, slapping her clit in a soft echo of the pain his hands had brought her. Each thrust drug his heavy cock through her walls, demanding she submit to the pleasure he gave her.
“Loki,” she gasped out his as he fucked into her faster. Though her mouth hung open, gasping breaths filling her lungs, only to be knocked out as he rammed his cock into her, she couldn’t get enough air.
Saliva ran from the corners of her mouth, a mess of lipstick already smeared by how he had fucked her mouth smeared further into the wet mess her face was making on his bedspread.
“Oh, fuck. Oh, Loki.” Her body tightened around him as he drug her back, pulling her up by the wires around her arms. Her back arched as she hung by the wires. Spittal hung in ropes from her bottom lip as he thrust into her, the pace harsh and punishing. Her breasts swung, wires cutting more into the tips of the swells and then the undersides as their weight shifted.
Her orgasm built as he fucked into her, using her. Her foggy mind kept telling her that this was wrong. She never agreed to be tied up. She never agreed to be used. Did she?
Oh, but his cuck spearing her again and again felt so good. She was powerless against the pleasure he gave her. She couldn’t get away, even if she wanted to. Did she want to?
“Do you wish to cum?” Loki asked, leaning forward to cup her breast in his hand as he continued his harsh thrusts.
“Please?” she begged, body tightening around him as he pinched her nipple.
Loki decided it was a shame he had elected against decorating her like the tree she could have been. She’d look so cute, standing in the room’s corner, lit up, legs spread wide, with a vibrator tied to her cunt. He’d tie bells around her, let and hang her from a wire, let the bells sound as each orgasm ripped from her body as ornaments hung from her nipples.
Surly Stark wouldn’t notice her missing for a few days, at least while he kept her as his little yule tree. Perhaps he would. She bent so easily to his will. She’d agree just for the promise of the pleasure of being his.
“Loki,” she moaned as her walls fluttered, twitching and gripping his cock as it ripped through her walls. “Fuck, it’s too much. Too much.”
“It’s not,” Loki purred in her ear, pulling her back to his chest by the breast in his hand. His other hand ran down her body, soothing her flaming skin until he reached her spread folds. “Until I say it is.”
Every panting moan that left her lips shifted into a high-pitched whine as he slapped her clit.
“You’re such a pretty little slut for me. Look at you?” He slapped her clit again and again, stinging pain tightening her cunt around him as he withdrew his cock before plunging forward again.
“Whining as I shape your greedy cunt to my cock. You’re going to cum on me, aren’t you?” He chuckled darkly as he slapped her sensitive bud. “No one will be able to fuck you like you need. No one can take you like I can. You’re going to be my little pet slut, won’t you?”
“Yes,” she cried out as her body pulled impossibly tight around him. “Fuck, yes. Please.”
“Who owns your cunt?” Loki whispered, pinching both a nipple and her clit harshly at the same time. His cock twitched inside her.
“Loki,” she cried out, body clamping down on his cock harshly, orgasm claiming her with violent force. “You. Fuck, Loki! Loki!”
He came harshly, pushing her down onto the bed as he thrust into her impossibly hard and fast. Her walls convulsed, gripped him as she screamed his name, muffled by the bedsheets.
He came with a roar, shooting his seed deep inside her quivering cunt as he forced his cock into her again and again. Bulbs pressed into her ass and thighs with such force that she would have bruises come morning.
His thrusts slowed as she sobbed against the bed, overwhelmed by pleasure as his cock twitched, softening. She was wrecked, just how he wanted her. All it took was one powerful orgasm and the feeling of being unreservedly owned.
“Be my toy and I’ll ensure you are never left unsatisfied.” He rubbed his hands along her body, fingers tracing the layers of wire wrapped around you.
“Why?” You gasped as his hand struck your ass.
“Because if you turn me down, you’ll never get fucked like this again.” Loki laughed as he slipped from her body. His cum ran from her opening as he stepped back. “And you have spent all your life looking for someone to own that little cunt of yours, haven’t you?”
“I-” Her heart beat wildly in her chest as she fought to be able to think through the haze her orgasm left her.
“I’ll leave you to think,” Loki said, running his hand down her back. She gasped and leaned forward as he pushed two long fingers into her twitching hole, covering them in her juices. He smeared the mess onto her thigh as he walked away. “Call for me when you decide.”
“Wait-” you struggled, wanting to sit up, to face him. “You can’t leave me like this?!”
“I can,” Loki laughed as he picked up a book, stretching out on the small loveseat in the living space. “Think of it as a reminder of what only I can give you.”
