The wrath that had sent your fire reeling banked at the cool touch of Loki’s hands around your waist. In one moment you were a raging inferno, destroying every artefact, every decoration and drape in your path, sending other gods fleeing back into side rooms and up onto the balconies. The next you were cradled so softly in his arms, his touch pushing back your anger like a cool breeze on a summer day.
The burnt cinders of the corridor were gone and you found yourself alone in a similarly vast marble throne room, sealed from floor to ceiling in onyx black marble, seams of gold tracing through the wide blocks into an endless ceiling, twinkling with candlelight.
Loki held you to his chest, petting the back of your head and down your arms, quenching the fire under his touch and, when you finally looked at him, he still held that pale blue hue that had appeared when he created a sedir shield against your explosive anger.
“Asynja,” Loki breathed your name like a prayer, cupping your cheek and drawing you closer.
“Loki,” you sobbed, collapsing back into his chest and allowing your tears to fall freely, “I don’t want to join any of their families.” You finally let the tears flow, now that your anger was subsiding, and your fear rose swiftly to the surface.
“No one can make you go with them, my darling,” Loki soothed, but you still hiccuped around another sob. “I promise, as long as I am beside you, my darling Asynja, no one shall take you from me. Do you understand?” He pulled back to look down at you, his eyes brimming with a potent mixture of anger and possessiveness.
“I understand,” you took a deep breath, but the flames that had surrounded you continued to dance around your feet and temples. “It’s just - it’s an awful lot to deal with so suddenly.”
“I know, I too have experienced a revelation about my parentage, and the powers that come with it.” He kept his eyes steady with yours but you could tell from the twitch in his jaw that he was holding his emotions back.
Confused you allowed your gaze to rove over him for the first time, he didn’t appear to be hurt by the flames but he still looked different somehow.
“You’re blue.”
“Yes,” Loki laughed a little, “I am blue. I thought it might help you to see that you are not alone in discovering new things about yourself and that you are also not alone in being frightened. Although this is only part of my other body.” He admitted.
You took Loki’s hand, colder than usual, and led him into the centre of the ballroom before tugging him to sit on the floor beside you. “What are you frightened of?” Your dress pooled around you, shimmering slightly, and Loki carefully arranged your skirts so that he could press as close to you as possible.
“I imagine the same as you, what I will become, should I let the truth of my nature show.”
“And what is your true nature?” You took his hand and traced the darker blue lines that had appeared along the back, dipping between his fingers.
“Odin was not my father, my father was Laufey, of Jotenheim, King of the Frost Giants. That is why I am Loki Laufeyson. Father, Odin, used to say that both Thor and I were born to sit upon the throne. It was only recently I learnt that he meant separate thrones and not a joint ruling of the kingdom as I’d believed. I had imaged that we would share responsibilities, divided by our personal skills in both warring and intrigue. But father had other plans. My brother, of Asgard, would rule over the people that we love, the home that I knew. Yet I, the son stolen from his homeland, was destined for a throne in a room I did not remember, a people I did not know, a land I have visited but once.” He choked on his words, fighting the emotion he’d tamped down for so long.
“Oh, Loki, I’m so sorry. He should never have kept that from you, or teased you and Thor like that.” You squeezed his hands tighter and Loki turned to give you a sad smile.
“Fear not, darling, I do not wish for a throne, it is no great disappointment to me that it belongs to another.”
“What are you afraid of then?”
“My form, this is a body, a form, that I was given as a child by my mother. Frost Giants are unlike Asgardians, I fear that my Jotun form would be a terrifying prospect for all around me, there is precious little regard for me as it is, I should hate to ruin my reputation further.” Loki smiled again, patting your hand. “We should leave, we can return to Tonsberg as planned, we’ll be safe there and we can put this whole sorry mess to rest. We have no need to fear prophecies, we can write our own futures.” Loki seemed so sure, confident that he could walk away from this threat as he had so many others that you almost believed him.
Perhaps you could, but you would have no secrets between you if you did.
You allowed him to rise, but tugged him back when he offered you his hand, “show me.”
“Excuse me?”
“Show me, let it go, be a Jotun, show me.” You repeated, raising your eyebrows and watching him expectantly. “I already saw your skin go sort of blue, what else happens?”
Loki looked almost bashful, “really, darling, I have no concept of what might happen. Frost Giants can be ten feet tall, I would not wish to risk any harm coming to you.”
“Loki, please, look at the size of this room,” you both looked up at the ceiling, though it was so high you could barely see it, shrouded as it was in the darkness of the marble.
“If you insist,” he conceded, “but only for you, my darling.”
Loki stepped further from you, and as he did he began to change subtly. When Loki used his sedir the change could be tracked by the journey of the magic over his body, but this was different. He grew taller and as you watched you missed his hair lengthening, growing down his back. His skin, an icey blue, was marked with more and more intricate designs and his eyes became red. His growth slowed and you stared up at him. Naked and in his full glory for the first time.
Loki must have been at least ten feet tall, if not more, though the ballroom ceiling was still far away he could reach up and touch the cascading chandeliers, he was certainly towering over you, sprawled as you were on the floor, attempting to take in his full height.
“Wow.” You continued to stare, your hand reaching out for him.
“Is wow a positive expression?” Loki asked, his voice still the same, though louder now. The sound vibrated through you and you clenched your legs together.
“Uh - definitely a good thing.” Loki was always beautiful, but this form, so tall and broad, muscular and strong, so purely alien. He was truly a god and you felt small before him. “I bet you could pick me up with one hand.” You said, touching his calf absently.
Loki laughed in response and you felt hot, you hadn’t meant to say that out loud, but it had taken you by surprise how attractive you found this form.
“Probably,” he quirked an eyebrow. “Shall we find out what else we could do?”
Loki bent down on her haunches and extended a hand towards you. His hands were still decorated with whirls of darker blue, and you traced them with your own fingers. With a grin he scooped you up, knocking you backwards so that you landed in his open palms.
Shocked, you gazed up at him open mouthed and his smile didn’t fade, instead it morphed into the teasing grin that knew you were in for both pleasure and mischief.
In this form you looked different too, although Loki was always taller he had certainly never viewed you like this. So small and vulnerable in his hand. He clenched his fingers gently, folding his thumb over your waist and circling your back with his fingers. You curled your arms around his thumb, hanging on tightly.
When he stood you shook, each of your movements amplified in his palm, as if he was back catching creatures in the forests of his youth, a nymph of his own to play with. He clenched his jaw against the thought - a plaything. His own goddess to play with.
“You look so - delicate.” He cooed, keeping his voice lower now you were closer to him.
“You look enormous.” You choked out, heat spreading over your chest and neck despite the chill of his touch. “Please, Loki, distract me from all this?” You asked, he had been right, this was exactly what you needed to feel less alone, less strange in this alien world. But now you needed more of him, you’d never get enough of anything that Loki could offer you, you’d take every facet of him, every version.
“What do you require of me, my tiny darling.” Loki lifted you higher, holding you to his cheek, your legs dangled in the air but your arms reached forward, touching his cold skin.
You leant towards him, pressing your lips against the expanse of smooth skin that covered his still sharp cheekbones, and pressed tickling kisses there, “make me forget, Loki. Please?”
“How could I deny such a polite request.” He cupped his other hand around you and, in a warm shimmer of magic, you felt your clothes vanish from your body. Still surrounded by his fingers your skin tingled, erupting in goosebumps at the press of his cold palm.
Loki lifted you back towards his face and pursed his lips, blowing warm air into his cupped hands and you giggled. You’d been expecting him to launch into some debauched idea of his, knowing that at least ten crackled around his thoughts at all times, but his playfulness caught you off guard as it always did.
“Loki!” You squirmed in his grasp and he held you all the tighter for it, bringing you back to his lips. This time he opened his hands and held you still, his second thumb covering your arms over your head so you couldn’t move, and then kissed the soft swell of your stomach. His lips were as cold as the rest of him, but as gentle as ever.
You giggled again, heat skittering over your skin and then shooting between your legs. His thumb swiped over your body and he kissed you again and again, turning you this way and that to find a spot on your side, on your hip, that he hadn’t yet worshipped.
“My darling,” he sighed, tipping his hand back so that you fell into his palm again, sprawled before him, “what a delicious little morsel you are.” His smile was vulpine and the only warning you got before he licked you, his tongue dipping between your spread legs and swiping up towards your breasts. You squealed in surprise, trying to close your legs but his fingers tangled over them, holding you open and he licked and licked, pausing only to blow gusts of cold air over the heat of your flesh.
“I could eat you forever and never be satiated.” Loki fit his tongue between your legs, teasing the tip against your entrance until you felt him stretch you gently. He angled his tongue upwards, humming softly and you swore you saw all the stars exploding as the vibrations thrummed through your bones. Loki continued, tilting his face forwards so that he nose pressed on your lower stomach, his tongue still angling upwards and your body sang for him, taut and ready.
“You’re devine,” he cooed, the rush of his words like a breeze, cooling your slick as it ran down your sticky thighs.
“Please, Loki, I can’t - I need - I want to cum - I’m going to - agh!”
Like a sacrificial offering he kept you pinned open until you were begging, pleading for more, the ever tightening coil of your arousal turned and turned in your stomach until you could take no more, gushing onto his tongue with a scream of pained pleasure. The sensations were overwhelming, heat and cold and pressure and pleasure and ecstasy all rolled into one.
Loki gave you a few seconds to recover before he lay you onto the table, sprawled before him.
“You are truly a feast, Asynja. Look at you, covered in us both and still smiling.” He kissed your cheek the best he could, swiping his thumb over your belly and thighs, rubbing in his kisses.
Your chest heaved, sweat cooling between your breasts and you longed for his touch again, even if it was icy, anything but this loneliness now that he had put you down.
“Loki -” you gasped, reaching for him and finding one of his large hands, your hand barely fit around his finger but his touch was soothing and pleasant on your heated skin.
He brushed his thumb over your breasts, around your nipples, down, down until he could lift your leg and cup you again, his thumb covering your folds and applying pressure to your aching clit. Your body no longer belonged to you, given over to the pleasure that touch created, your hips lifted, rolling into the pad of his thumb and he let you, a satisfied smile on his face as your pace increased, riding his hand. With an obscene moan you arched from the table and into his awaiting touch.
“You’re not satisfied, darling?” He smirked as you looked at him with heavily lidded eyes, “I promise I’m going nowhere until you are completely sated,” he bent over the table, looming over you and filling your senses, “we shall only leave when you are panting, crying for me to stop.” Loki kissed the side of your face, close enough that you could twine your hands in his hair in an effort to keep him there, so close you thought you could breathe him in. Despite all of the changes to his body, his hair felt the same, soft and silky and smelt like the expensive shampoo he insisted on using. It blended with his usual deep amber scent and something else, perhaps something Jotun, that reminded you of snowy days and icey nights.
“God - Loki - I - fuck me, please.”
You both looked down at the sizable erection tenting his magically enlarged trousers, his words rumbled through you, his lips still at your cheek, “I do not wish to break you, my Asynja, perhaps something else may sate your lusts.” His cock bobbed under his trousers, twitching in time with his words, and you knew without looking in his eyes that he was using every ounce of his self control not to at least try and push himself deep inside of you.
Suddenly his thumb was gone and you gave a low whine at the loss, dropping a hand between your legs to try and continue the glorious cresting of your impending orgasm, but Loki moved your hand away.
“Patience, darling,” he chided, still cupping the backs of your legs, tugging you to the edge of the long table. Instead of his thumb he stroked his pinky finger down your stomach, one hand keeping you still, the other drawing teasing circles over your belly button, lower and lower with each circle.
Even his smallest finger felt enormous, Loki in his usual size was enough of a stretch and heat flooded through you at the thought of trying to take even his finger.
“Lo’,” you were incoherent now, thrashing on the table with every movement, but he pressed on, the pad of his finger at your entrance, spreading your arousal over your clit and pushing slowly, intently, until you felt yourself stretch around him.
“Norns, Asynja, you are the most delicious woman in the nine kingdoms, in every realm, every universe, every time,” he cooed, pressing further until you keened, your hands rushing back between your legs as if to both stop and continue the onslaught of pleasure.
You had never been so full in your life, so full and so loved, held as you were between Loki’s gigantic hands, his lips kissing away the sweat on your brow, sparkling like diamonds in the low light.
“Loki, I - I -” your fingers struggled to find purchase in his hair - on his hands, slipping over his arousal soaked skin and you were dimly aware that that was the feel of you, hot and slick between you, dripping onto the table, before your orgasm hit you at full force, just from the stretch alone.
“Good girl, Asynja,” Loki growled, moving only slightly as your walls clenched around him, he could feel very flutter and movement on his sensitive fingertips and then you gushed, squirting over his finger and soaking the his chin where he perched between your legs.
Loki’s red eyes went darker, a blood red full of his widened pupil and drinking in every inch of your sweating, heaving body, your velvet skirts pushed up around your waist and bare legs shining with your arousal.
“Fuck, Loki - that was -” you dropped your head back onto the table with a thunk, staring glassy eyed at the lights twinkling above.
“It’s my pleasure, my darling.” He drawled, grin feral, tongue poking out between blue teeth. The first lap was soothing on your heated skin, sending goosebumps up and down your legs.
You peered up, tucking your head into your chest to view the god between your legs, still worshipping you, still thinking only of you. It was overwhelming, his devotion, and you wanted - needed, to make him feel the same.
Carefully you eased yourself to the edge of the table, level with his smiling face, and then you let your feet drop to the floor, a hand on his bare chest, pushing him backwards until he lay on the marble floor. Loki was the only other colour in the room, a bright star in the darkness. The bulge of his trousers was pressing against the zipper and you carefully settled on his hip, pushing your hands against the fabric.
It was Loki’s turn to groan now, the sound a deep rumble that travelled down his body and back between your legs. A fresh wave of arousal made itself known, but you tamped down your feelings. It was Loki’s turn now.
He helped you to tug the zipper down, freeing his impossibly large cock from its prison.
“Fuck.” The word was out before you could stop it and you left your mouth hanging open while you took in his full glory. In his Asgardian form Loki was already generously endowed. But as Jotun - you placed your hand against the firm length and marvelled at how delicate his skin still felt, albeit colder than normal. His cock twitched beneath your palm and a large bead of precum slithered from the tip, tracing the contours of a thick vein that ran up the bottom.
“Please -” Loki whimpered, his hands twitching. One came to wrap around your waist, gently holding you, the other he clenched in the fabric of his trousers.
“Can I taste?”
“Yes - of course, please, Asynja, do not torment me, can you not feel how I ache for you. How my body needs you?”
He squeezed his eyes closed, the sound of fabric ripping slowly accompanying the tightening of his first.
“I’d hate to leave you aching, my Prince.” You teased, leaning forwards and wrapping your hands around as much of his girth as you could. Tugging yourself closer to him you let your tongue dancing over his throbbing vein, arching higher towards the flare around the head. Marvelling at the beautiful shades his Jotun form afford him, you missed a second roll of precum escaping down the side and soaking your arm.
“Norns -” Loki clenched his jaw, “I must apologise for -”
“Please, don’t.” You knelt up and licked him again, eagerly tasting as much of him as you could. “You taste a little different, it’s fascinating.”
“Asynja,” he warned.
“Well -” you licked, “you do.”
Reaching the sensitive head you dipped your face towards his slit, pressing your nose into the soft flesh and pushing your tongue down, swirling it and pulsing as he did to you. You were rewarded with more and more of his cum, weeping past your pressing fingers.
“Asynja, I cannot hold back any longer - my darling -”
His cock pulsed, you could feel it against your body were you had pressed yourself against the entire length of him and it felt devine. Your body responded, clit aching for the feel of it.
“Do that again,” you begged, rubbing yourself against him, pushing on his length until you were lying on his stomach, wrapped around him, legs thrown over his base, toes curling.
The hand at your waist squeezed too and you felt the sensation of him moving you gently, the drag and pull of skin on skin, your pussy wet and wanting against his cock.
“You feel so fucking good, my darling, I can’t help it, your little body is perfection, made for me, made for my cock.”
You mewled, licking and sucking at his rigid length, thrusting your hips into him in seach of your own pleasure.
“I’m going to cum, Asynja and you haven’t even tried to move away.” He growled, his voice wavering as he neared his release.
“Don’t want to, Lo, I want your cum, want you to drench me in it, want you to use me and rub me on your beautiful cock, please - please!” Your sobs of pleasure joined his own, a deep knot tightening in the pit of your stomach.
“My goddess, my princess, my darling I will give you every drop you wish for.” He promised, fingers so tight you knew you’d have an array of bruises to enjoy tomorrow, but now, plunged into the most exquisite pleasure you’d ever felt, you latched onto the spot below his glands and sucked and sucked and -
Loki came with a shout, chasing your own release with each pulse of his cock, and spurted down your arms and hands, your back and legs. He painted his own chest in ropes and ropes of cum until he sighed, releasing your body and sagging into the floor.
Slowly he shrank until you were lying chest to chest on the cold floor and laughing.
“Loki, please tell me we can do that again.” You mumbled into his chest, lazily kissing his now, slightly warmer, skin.
“I’d be disappointed if we didn’t.” He agreed, “although I think we may traumatise my poor brother should he stumble upon us. Perhaps it’s time we find him and return to Tonsberg?”
“Can’t we stay here and have a nap?” You closed your eyes defiantly, hoping he’d give in despite how uncomfortable you both were.
“Sadly, I can not allow a Goddess, such as yourself, to take her rest on a such an appalling hard surface. Only the finest pillows and sheets will do for you.” He pressed a kiss to the top of your head, “luckily, I know just such a place.”

“It matters not to me what form you take.” Thor soothes, echoing the words he spoke centuries earlier when Loki hesitantly explained that he was not always a prince but that did not necessarily mean he was Asgard’s princess either. “Whether you are my brother, my sister, my sibling, or a glorious snake, you are still my kin to protect above all else in Asgard.”
“And what do you propose I am, if not Asgardian?”
Fear grips tight to Thor’s heart but he does not falter. “Loki, you are Jotun.”

Be My Little Darling
Masterlist Chapter 2
Pairing: Loki x Black!Fem!reader / Plus Size reader
Warnings: 18+. Minors DNI. You are in charge of your own reading experience. One shot. There is some making out, unresolved sexual tension! Mentions of private parts. Cursing. There's violence with weapons. Established relationship.
Summary: Loki is the exclusive owner of the hottest club in New Asgard. Dubbed the Nine Realms, each of the nine rooms represent a different realm. You are his second in command, working the floors and ensuring everyone is having fun. At least they will be after you stop a creep from bothering one of your waitresses. And Loki has to stop the fight with you. He takes you back to his office to set some things straight.
Word Count: 3,826k
A/N: Ever since hearing that the Loki show had an early concept of Loki running a 70s dance club like the show Lucifer, I couldn't stop thinking about it. So I knocked this out. It was fun to write LOL. I conceived it as a one shot, so enjoy. Not beta'd or proof read, so all mistakes are mine. While likes are awesome, please consider commenting and reblogging to support writers!
“Hands. Off. Now,” you snarled. You looked up into the ugly mug of some random person who had too much to drink. He stank of ale and dried sweat and something faintly oily.
He sneered down at you and looked you over. You wore the same thing as the other girls, except you took liberties with yours. The skirt was a little shorter, the cleavage a little tighter, fishnet tights, and fingerless gloves. You wore all black like the other waitresses complete with a fresh black rose pinned to your lapel.
He saw you no more than background noise, blending into the decadent atmosphere. So, in his mind, he could do whatever he wanted.
“I don’t hear her complaining,” he said, with a heavy accent. You couldn’t place it, but then again, you were still getting used to New Asgard. Between the Asgardians and the humans native to this part of the world, there was an eclectic mix of voices, accents, and dialects.
He held one of your girls by the arm and from the looks of it, it was none too gently. She was a pretty brown haired girl, a little mousy and pale, but this room preferred the look of a doe-eyed innocent. You nodded to her, to give her reassurance that everything would be okay.
You turned your scowl back on the idiot. “She’s told you no a few times. Clean out your ears and let her go. I won’t ask again,” you said.
“And what will you do?” He asked. He looked around the room at his buddies who laughed along with him. You looked around, committing each idiot to memory. They were definitely banned after this.
You licked your lips, trying to keep your cool. You were so over this bullshit. You weren’t a bouncer and you resented the extra load Loki dumped on your shoulders. As if managing nine fucking rooms in a club was an easy task.
He chuckled some more, getting his cronies to increase their mocking laughter. The Alfeim room was supposed to be one of the most relaxing and ethereal rooms. You didn’t know where the meathead came from but you made a mental note to deal with the front house staff in the morning.
You moved forward and conjured a defense baton, bringing it down on his arm at the joint. There was a faint crunching sound and he yelled as he dropped the girl. She grinned and backed away, using her tray as a shield from the other cronies. They stood up and you slowly unveiled a conjured sword, waving it about.
“Ah ah ah,” you tsked. “Play fair.”
The meathead wailed like an unruly child and you curled your lip in disgust. So pathetic.
“Out, all of you. And I never want to see you here again.”
There were five men who encircled you, each remaining in place. You glanced around the room. There were log tables set up with stumps to sit on. There was fake moss on the walls and floor, fake branches overhead, and a cave facade built onstage for the performers. The girls in this room wore leafy, flowy skirts and loose peasant shirts. Flower crowns were woven into their braided hair and they wore sandals on their feet.
The patrons in this room needed that bit of fantasy to escape for a bit. For now, they were content to watch the fight unfold. They weren’t freaking out, so you decided to keep the mood light.
The meathead in charge stopped crying long enough to struggle to his feet. “You will regret that,” he said, low and menacing. Well, at least he thought so. But once you saw a man sniveling on the floor with snot running down his face, you kind of lost all respect.
You swung the sword towards him until it was flush against his neck. “Care to try me? I haven’t had a good fight in a good while,” you said.
The meathead scoffed. He suddenly thrust his arm up, moving your sword out of the way. But it still nicked him across the neck and cheek. A red line opened up on his skin and bled freely. He paid it no mind as he got in close, using his good side and broad frame to crowd into you.
You stepped in close as well and used the hilt of your baton to hit him in the abdomen. You stepped in, turned, and used the momentum to bring the baton across his face. His face whipped to the side but then turned back to you with fire in his eyes.
Finally, a good fucking fight. He yelled and ran at you, picking you up and slamming your back against the nearest table. You dropped the sword and conjured another baton and began wailing on any available body parts you could reach. You rained down holy fire on his back and arms until he finally leaned back far enough for you to land a solid kick.
He stumbled back, cursing at you and calling you out of your name. You hopped off of the table and bent low to bring your batons down on his kneecaps, ankles, and shins. He yowled in pain before grabbing your arm with a snarl.
“Let her go.” A deep, rich voice called out into the room. The faint faerie-like music slowed to a stop. The lights seemed to dim in his presence.
You sighed. This was the last fucking thing you needed.
“I got it,” you said. You twisted in the man’s hand making him twist in an unnatural way. He could either let go and save his hand or keep going out of spite. He cried out as his wrist twisted too far. You grabbed it and twisted it behind his back. You elbowed him in the back until he was bent over and back to crying. You applied pressure until his knees buckled.
“All of you, out. And you already know what I will do if I catch you here again,” Loki said. His breathy baritone commanded all the force of a prince. The eggheads who stayed out of the fight looked to their pathetic leader. He looked between you and Loki, trying to determine who was the real threat. You with the weapons, or the owner of the club and his former prince.
The meathead nodded and you let him go with a final shove. He stood up and one of his buddies came to help him stand. He glared daggers at you as they were escorted out by a team of bouncers.
You weren’t even out of breath. You released your constructs and set about setting the room to rights. You didn’t want to look at him. You already knew that he’d be scowling at you. As if the disturbance was somehow your fault.
Loki approached you on silent feet. While you were looking down, his shiny black dress shoes came into view.
He called your name and you suppressed a shiver. His voice made music out of your name, pronouncing all of the syllables in his own unique way. Every time felt like you were discovering your name for the first time.
You dragged your eyes along his all black suit that hugged his frame, accentuated his small waist, and broad shoulders. He wore a black on black suit, with a black tie, and a black rose on his lapel. His hair draped down to his shoulders. He was letting it grow out again and gods it was glorious on him.
His signature scowl was on his face as he regarded you.
“I had it covered, you didn’t have to do that.” You hated that even from across the fucking club, word spread so fast that he always spoiled your fun.
“It shouldn’t get that far,” he said.
“How about you trust me next time?” You snapped. You weren’t a fucking child that he could scold. He raised an eyebrow at you.
Perhaps you really had lost your mind, because you didn’t care this time. “You can’t expect these people to trust me, let alone my girls to trust me, if you swoop in and command people about. They need to fear me, not you,” you continued.
“He had his hands on you,” Loki said as if it explained everything.
“He had his hands on Sugar, or did you not see that?” You asked. Loki gave every waitress a name. Sugar, Sweetie, Honey…
“Darling,” he said, with a slight smile. “There’s nothing that goes on in my club that I don’t know about,” he said.
You rolled your eyes. Yes, you’ve heard the speech. He is the lord and king of the club and no one could tell him different.
You finished righting the tables and stumps. You grabbed the towel hanging from your back pocket and wiped down the table. The couple who had been sitting there had stood up in the commotion to avoid being trampled. They nodded their thanks. You gave them vouchers for a free drink on their next visit.
“I don’t need your fucking help, Loki,” you said. You brushed past him but he dug his fingers into the fleshy parts of your upper arm.
He raised a finger into your face. “Have care how you speak to me,” he said.
His dark eyes bored into yours. Oh he was angry. If he had the ability to burn you with one look, it’d be this one. His jaw flexed as he clenched it and his eyes were so narrow, he looked like his eyes were half closed.
You yanked your arm out of his grasp. He reared back as if you had slapped him. “Fuck you,” you said.
Instead of rising to your obvious bait, Loki chuckled. He clapped slowly and turned around, getting others to clap along with him. “Let’s thank the lovely Darling for keeping us safe.”
The room clapped awkwardly before Loki nodded to the band. The music resumed, the soft and ethereal music floating through once more. Waitresses floated in and out carrying full trays of drinks to go with the forest theme.
Loki smiled and waved to patrons. He leaned down to speak to a group of women who giggled at his words. Giggled. You dry heaved.
Loki turned back to you and his smile disappeared. He stepped closer and leaned towards your ear. “My office. Now,” he demanded.
You sucked your teeth but his expression told you that he wasn’t in the mood tonight. Whatever. If he wanted to fire you, you’d welcome it. You didn’t sign up for this shit.
You whirled around and exited the room. The common areas were decorated in velvet and revolving lights that switched colors and swirled on the walls. Waitresses dressed in regalia from all over the nine realms marched to and from the various kitchens and bars, carrying drinks or finger foods.
Your high heels clicked on the floor, despite the thumping music from various rooms you passed. You were all too aware of Loki stalking behind you. He didn’t make much of a sound. If it weren’t for his shoes, you wouldn’t be able to tell he was there. Well, besides the overwhelming presence of him.
His disappointment and anger were like thick blankets around you. Suffocating you. Your skin was overheated and oversensitive. You wanted a fight but now you were left unfulfilled. Your denied release made you antsy, eyes flicking across the assorted artwork and sculptures in the labyrinth hallways.
You led the way to his office. Smack at the back of the club, Loki had a spacious and elegant office. He was done in his signature black and emerald. Deep, plush couches he probably fucked people on.
He had a dark mahogany desk that was large enough to dominate the room. Two chairs were in front of it. File cabinets, boxes, and random sculptures made up the room. He had a private bar in the corner with the best liquor according to his tastes.
He entered behind you and slammed the door shut. You hated that you jumped. You hated it more that the sound of the door locking didn’t scare you. It excited you. Your pitiful crush on your boss was embarrassing. All of the women loved him. Half the men did too. He had a unique way of making you feel like the only person in the room, despite being surrounded.
You crossed your arms and faced forward. He stalked towards you, way too close for comfort. You shifted as he trailed a finger down your exposed arm. He grabbed your chin, forcing you to look into his eyes.
“If you don’t respect me out there, the other girls will stop listening. So instead of running a club, I’m now stuck with the task of hiring and training a completely new staff. Do not disrespect me out there,” he said.
You faced him. “Then don’t disrespect me. I had the situation under control,” you said.
He laughed at you and shook his head. He dropped his hold on your chin. “I’m sure breaking his knees and arms was a controlled situation,” he said.
“He would’ve healed,” you said.
“That’s not the point!” He yelled. Fresh arousal flooded you and made your stomach flip. This was so fucked up. His yelling should not excite you. But it did. Gods, it did. Every single time.
“There’s no fighting in my club. Ever,” he said.
“You embarrassed me out there. How can people respect my position if you don’t?” You asked.
“I wouldn’t have given it to you if I didn’t respect you. I know you can do a good job. Itching for a fight will drive customers away. What’s going on with you?” He asked.
You blinked at him. “What? Nothing. Can’t a woman rage without there being a reason?”
“Not you, no. What is it? What happened?”
“Nothing,” you said through gritted teeth. The hell did he truly care anyway? Maybe you were in a shitty mood because you wanted to be. You were stressed out to the max. The highlight of your day was managing the club. Outside of it…it wasn’t pretty. You preferred the dark interior of the club and its nine rooms to the sunny and bright world outside. It was all so sad.
But you weren’t about to tell your boss that. If you broke down, he’d be more than justified to replace you. And you didn’t want to think about what would happen if you didn’t have the club anymore.
He approached you, crowding into your personal space. You backed away until your round ass hit the top of his desk. Still, you tried to get out of the web he weaved. His entire being made the room feel tiny.
“Tell me or we’ll have to find a more constructive use for you,” he said. He looked down his nose at you, eyes raking over your plump brown lips.
A sigh escaped you. “We’ve never crossed that line, Loki,” you said.
“I can’t fathom a reason why right now,” he said.
You chuckled to try to dissipate some of the tension in the room. “You couldn’t give me what I want,” you said.
You and Loki had flirted plenty of times over the years, but you both respected your positions. You didn’t need anyone thinking you got this job on your knees. Some of the girls liked to still gossip and call you Princess when they thought you couldn’t hear them. But no one thought you two had a relationship.
How could they? Loki had a different woman or man or those in between on his arm every night. He made no secret of the type of people he liked. And safe to say, you did not fit the bill. You weren’t ugly. You knew that for a fact. You were gorgeous with real curves and a real tummy.
Loki seemed to go for the weak willed, bland people whose personalities came from a quiz online. He liked to boss people around and you made sure that he knew that he couldn’t do the same to you.
“You think you’re so hard to figure out?” He chuckled and looked over you as if you were nothing. “Darling, I know what you need.”
You jutted your chin out and crossed your arms. He poked your side. You slapped his hand away. He poked your other side and you slapped his hand away again. What was he playing at?
He scooted closer, molding his body along yours. You felt the unmistakable imprint of his dick straining against his trousers. You inhaled sharply, not expecting that at all. You looked into his eyes. He had a downright devilish grin on his face.
He dragged his fingers from your tummy, up and over your chest, in between your breasts, and then wrapped them around your throat.
You prayed he couldn’t feel your heartbeat increasing. He smelled like wood and smoke, like sin.
“Tell me to stop,” he said. He kept eye contact with you as he leaned down and kissed the tops of your breasts. Your tongue darted out to wet your lips.
“Shove me away,” he said. He increased pressure on your neck and you whined. His free hand roamed over your thigh before pulling it up and wrapping it around his hip. It pressed his dick closer to you and your pussy throbbed.
He moved his hands higher, lifting your skirt. He went so agonizingly slow, giving you enough time to reject him. To shove him away. To tell him to leave you alone. Yet…what if this is all you got from him? What if this was your one chance to experience Loki’s attention directed at you?
“My poor, overworked Darling. So many responsibilities I gave you. I have no doubt you can deliver. But so little time for a proper release,” he said. His breath fanned over your face, smelling of whiskey and mint.
His fingers slid up to your jaw, running his thumb over your lips before pushing in. You suckled his thumb as his other hand drifted closer to your pussy. He played with the outline of your panties, lighting running his fingers back and forth.
You shamelessly moaned. You wiggled your hips, trying to get him to do anything else. He couldn’t stand here teasing all damn night. Surely, you would recover from his rejection after this. You weren’t the first to hold out on him but it was a game to see how flustered you could make each other.
Once he had you, there was no reason to continue the game.
“Eyes on me,” he demanded.
You snapped your eyes to his. His magic must extend to his eyes, because you were lost. Pulled in. Fuck it. Heartbreak was worth whatever he was about to do to you.
“No funny remarks? Is that all it takes? Playing with your needy little pussy?” He asked.
You nipped at his thumb but he didn’t pull it away. He grinned. “You don’t know what I need,” you said. But your comeback was weak to your own ears.
“You take care of so much, but who takes care of you?” He asked.
“I have a trusty vibrator. Better than any man,” you taunted.
Loki grinned. “Don’t stand there and lie, Darling. Shall I prove you wrong?”
You narrowed your eyes at him, daring him to. He hooked his finger under your panties and cooed at the amount of wetness on the gusset of your panties. “Quite a mess you made.” He leaned his head down and nuzzled your cheek before resting his nose against your shoulder. He took a deep whiff.
“Divine,” he said.
His knuckles brushed against your slick folds and you whined, moving your hips to get him where you needed him. “You’re so used to being in control, aren’t you?”
He took his thumb out of your mouth and grabbed your chin. He brought you close, close enough for your lips to touch. He licked his lips and the movement caught some of yours.
“Tell me I’m wrong and I’ll stop,” he said.
“Fuck you, Loki,” you said.
He chuckled and started to rub his knuckle back and forth with increased speed. You bit your lip to keep from moaning on his knuckle. There was no way he was playing you this well. It was embarrassing.
He kissed both of your cheeks and hovered his lips over yours. You wrapped one arm around his shoulder and the other around his tie. You yanked and he fell forward, giving you a quick kiss.
You dug your hands into his scalp, pulling his hair at the roots. He growled but still didn’t take the hint. He bit your lip and you cried out. He licked away the sting.
“Ask nicely if you want me to kiss you,” he said.
“Fuck you,” you breathed.
“Say the word and I will,” he said. You mashed your lips together, refusing to give him the satisfaction.
His knuckle stilled and you cried, rolling your hips forward. He withdrew completely and you groaned. You were nearly there. He kept eye contact as he licked his knuckle. You could smell yourself on his fingers. It was obscene. And it was fucking hot.
“If you want this cock, you’ll have to beg for it.” His voice weaved a spell on its own. You sighed at his filthy words.
“Like hell,” you said.
Loki chuckled and shrugged. “Until you beg, you’ll stay like this. You’re not allowed to cum or let anyone else touch you.”
He backed away from you, dropping you unceremoniously. Your leg hit the ground and your knees slightly buckled. You caught the desk behind you to keep you upright. You hadn’t known that he held the majority of your weight. The bastard took all the heat with him. Your hands shook with overwhelming need.
“You can’t tell me what to do,” you scoffed.
“I know I can. Go home. Think of me. Curse me. Whatever you need to do. But I will be very angry if you cum without my permission.”
He nuzzled your neck again before planting a soft kiss to your neck. He caressed your cheek before fully backing away. He rolled his shoulders. His pants were tented. Surely he was in pain as well.
“Don’t worry about me, Darling. I can last longer than you,” he said. Oh, now he activated your competitive side.
You smiled sweetly and fixed your skirt. You took your time fluffing it around your hips and thick thighs. Two could play that fucking game. You stood up and sashayed past him.
“We’ll see. But you’re not allowed to touch anyone else either,” you smirked. You trailed your hand along his chest as you passed him. His dark chuckle followed you out of the room. This ought to be interesting.

Tease
Loki Laufeyson x reader
Tags: Dominant reader, sub Loki, ropes, slightly public sex if you see it that way, no plot just porn, short drabble.
Note: It is currently 2:06am and I am tired. I wrote this to get it off my mind. I didn't read over this.
His grunts were music to your ears, struggling to hold on as you sunk on his cock and grinded down. His hands were tied to the chair, a little trick up your sleeve that he didn’t see coming or probably allowed it, considering how precious you were to him when you weren’t teasing him with your pussy. You pressed further, putting your hands on his suit vest, working on his buttons. “Mm.. I said no..”, his velvety voice filled the quiet room, almost a growl as it came out.
“You’re tied up, darling. You got no control over me..”, you put on a teasing voice, leaning in and smelling his cologne before licking a stride up his neck, earning a shiver from him. His hands were tightened into fists, knuckles turning white from the amount of pressure he was putting on them. You pressed a chaste kiss to his adam’s apple before ripping open his suit vest, knowing you were going to pay for that with the buttons flying across the room. Either you are getting pounded into a desk or you are sewing the buttons back on his vest.
You ran your hands along his chest, feeling the warmth on your palms before undoing his shirt buttons, not wanting to damage anymore of his clothes. His chest was heaving as you exposed it to your eyes.. your favorite part of his body. Not his cock, but his chest and stomach. His chest rising and falling with each heavy breast. As you pressed your staining kisses to his pecs, wrapping your lips around his nipples, he bucked his hips up to no avail. You took the precaution of tying his hips to the chair, wanting full control of him. “Relax.. let me take care of you.”, you grunt, running your tongue against the erect nipple earning a moan. “You sound so pretty..’
“You are treading dangerous waters.”, he growls out, yanking on the ropes a bit before trying to relax when you start to ride him again, slower this time. You wanted you both to feel every inch dragging out of your sopping wet cunt and filling you out each time, hoping to drive him crazy. Your fingers dance around his broad shoulders, pushing the white shirt off his shoulders. Your fingers move higher, grabbing his crown and yanking on it, making him grunt. You were trying to hold on, wanting to tease him and make him tetter on the edge like he does to you, but you were losing your composure. Damn, did his cock feel good.
You could feel his eyes roaming your body, trying to distract himself from the fact that he felt like he was about to combust under the touch of what he considered his pet. You let go of his crown and his head falls back, leaving his neck exposed. You take the prey, making marks all over his neck and claiming what was rightfully yours. Your arms wrap around his waist, pressing your body into his warm one, grinding down on his cock. “You are such… a tease.. gods, I cannot stand you.”, he pants, unable to keep up his exterior as he felt himself unravel, filling you with his godly seed, gripping the chair arms. Your head rolls back, stopping for a minute to let your hips rest before riding him through his high, eliciting an out of character plead.
“You are begging a mortal to stop, Loki?”, you cup his chin, as he does to you, a little smile playing on your face. “How pathetic.” You watch his head roll back, tasting his own medicine and enjoying it a little too much for an arrogant asshole. His moans started to get louder, the overstimulation running rapidly in his body. He hisses, feeling you tighten around him, squirming in his seat. You lean into him, more for leverage, but also teasing him more with your moans and pants of his name. He wasn’t sure what you were doing to him, but he was sure you were a seductress or a witch of some sort. No way a human could do this to him.
“I’m almost there, baby.. just be a good boy for me.”, you grip his shoulders, panting softly and riding him a bit faster. He groans in response, eyes closing at your words and the way you were obviously holding back to drag this torture out. You place your feet against the floor, thighs pressed against the arm rests of the chair and standing a bit. You grab his hair, yanking on it; needing something more out of him to get you to spill over. He grunts, opening his eyes and meeting your gaze with some less of dominant in his eyes,
“I’m your good boy, princess.”
You moan out his name, shivering and shaking as you soaked his dress pants in your essence. You put your head against his chest, panting heavily. His head laid back, eyes back to closed and savoring the moment of you still wrapped around him.
You pull back, untying his wrists and waist. His arms wrapped around you, embracing you in his warmth. “You are going to pay for that.”
“I know I will, love.. but it was fun.”

Fic rec time!
This is a lovely WIP by @indelen called Borrowed Time set after Ragnarok but in a timeline where Thanos has not yet come after Loki or the Infinity Stones. It has a strong focus on Loki and Thor's relationship so far, and the opening few chapters are a really quite beautiful exploration of Finland's wilderness and folklore and how Loki and Thor might fit in to this on Earth. It quickly gets going though and we spend time with some of the Avengers and in New Asgard while trying to solve the mystery of what is going on.
I've very much enjoyed how Loki and Thor are written, and the premise is intriguing.
Still very much a WIP, but worth a read even just this far.
Author's summary:
The Statesman never encountered Thanos between the destroyed Asgard and Earth. Thor, Loki and the remaining survivors settled on Earth and formed New Asgard. A year later and the Odinson brothers struggle to preserve the life, culture and history they lost. For Thor kingship is a heavy burden and he had to sacrifice much to preserve his relationship with his people and his prickly brother. And for Loki New Asgard brings nothing but old grudges and old troubles and old prejudices.
And then monsters fall from the sky and Earth's magic wielders begin to disappear and things really start to get complicated. Magic, mystery and monsters, Gods and humans and everything in between ...
... and all the while Loki, his pockets still quite heavy from the jaunt to Odin's Vault, can't shake the feeling that someone is watching him.

Borrowed Time - Chapter 24
FROM THE START
Chapter 24 - Too Many Questions
Excerpt:
“This is the only delivery my contact will be able to make for some time,” he warned, his voice suddenly as tired as the rest of him.
Eir nodded as if she knew exactly why. Then again she was there when Vanlandi spoke of Amora’s ransacked jail cell and she was not a fool so maybe she did.
“I have other contacts,” continued Loki, “but none as reliable as this one was. Do stress to your aides the importance of reading twice before doing once. I can’t promise a fast turn around on supplies from now on”
“Understandable. How is your back?”
“In pain. How is Jarl’s potion?”
“Simmering”
“Who among us isn’t?” shrugged Loki and added, “I have one question for you, not strictly a medical one.”

I took the day off from adding words to half-written fics but now I am wondering whether the "controversial" thing in Frigga Mindwipes Everyone would be the multiple non-consensual mindwipes or that one scene where Odin is slightly better at parenting than she is?
#how the heck did Loki get to that age unaware of the adoption thing when quite a few people must have seen Odin coming home with#a baby in one arm and greeting a clearly-not-pregnant queen with the other?#i know she's the absolutely wrong religion to be “Saint Frigga” but it kind of fits with the way fandom tends to view her u kno?#Odin *is* a dick in this fic but not actually The Worst Parent Ever (oh nooooo!!!!)#Frigga means well here but this does not always means she does Good Things#this fic is a combo of my urge to make her less-than-perfect and my need to answer what seems to me the very obvious question#of which may bother me and only me#but at least it gave me a fic and then i will be able to sleep at night with an 'answer' to this very worrying question#do they just not gossip on Asgard? because that's FAR too silly! sillier than the “Norse gods were aliens with capes” thing even!#i (alas) live in a monarchy and SUDDEN UNEXPECTED PRINCE would absolutely be front page news for MONTHS!#mcu tag

Solstice Eve | Loki x Reader
You and Loki enjoy the run up to the Winter Solstice, getting to know the Asgardian court and integrating into your new home. But there's always trouble brewing and this time old allies come back as new enemies.
Warnings: some language, silly fluff, Christmas vibes in August, threat of kidnapping.
AN: what do you mean this is 8 months too late!?

Series Masterlist | Loki Masterlist | Masterlist
Winter in Tonsberg was beautiful. You watched day after day as drifts of snow filled in the crags and tarns of the mountains surrounding the village. Every morning you made coffee for two, slowly learning all of the different dials and knobs of the expensive coffee machine Loki had in his impressively equipped kitchen. His cottage wasn’t as sprawling as the compound, but it was beautifully appointed. From the open stone fireplace to the waterfall shower and roll top bath, Loki had a wonderful eye for both luxury and comfort in even the most everyday items and habits. He allowed you to make any changes you wanted though, adding blankets you bought at the Sunday market, cushions and tapestries the elders gifted you and what felt to him like hundreds of candles.
The house was always happier with a candle burning, cycling through vanilla and cinnamon, the scent clung to him when he attended council meetings and followed him to the small pub on the wharf, The Dog and Bildgesnipe, when he met with Thor.
Loki had started adding sticks of cinnamon to the fire in the evening too, unable to go without it regardless of if you were in the cottage or not. He loved the way you’d changed his home, fitting perfectly into the nooks and spaces of his heart and moulding new and interesting ways to live out of every vacant moment.
He watched you now, as you wrapped the ends of your sweater over your hands to protect them, standing at the window, watching the weather changing in the distance, the people passing and waving in the street.
The morning had started like any other, tangled in a mess of bare limbs and soft sheets, Loki had kissed you awake and you’d showered together, giggling in the steam without a care. After your shower you’d dressed first, leaving Loki to enjoy the hot water while you sought out your first coffee of the day.
As he watched, you sighed, leaning against the wooden window frame and raised your hand as Madam Gina walked past, the stooped old woman who had revealed so much of your life on that day at the end of November. Since then you’d seen her many times, mostly in the Long Hall where she took up residence on the sidelines, watching and smiling at the children playing or the business of the court. You liked it there too and had spent many happy afternoons since beside her, topping up her teacup whenever it got low.
Thankfully, there had been no more revelations and no more surprise visitors. Just the ebb and flow of life in Tonsberg as it should be, and Loki’s heart swelled to see you so settled. Everything was as it should be, he thought, ready for another day.
Tony ushered Steve into his office, checking the corridor before locking the door. Steve rolled his eyes, the entire office was empty at this hour, but he was glad Tony was at least taking their project seriously.
“Have you done it?” Steve went straight for the desk, bending across to pull all the paper together and leafing through. It was unlike Tony to do anything the ‘old fashioned way’, as he called it, but he was determined to keep this project a complete secret.,
“Of course I’ve done it, you’re a sceptic, Rogers, anyone ever tell you that?” He circled around the wide glass desk and dropped himself into his office chair.
“I just want to make sure it’s right, we don’t know what we’re messing with here.” He scanned the paper again, the strange symbols and pictures a blur.
“I’m sure, if we -” Tony snatched the papers back, searching for something, “if we - god fucking damnit this is why I hate paper - a ha!” With a flourish he pulled something from the bottom of the pile and slapped it onto the glass in front of Steve. “If we use this,” he tapped his fingers on a circling of runes, “we can keep him contained. I saw him in that castle, he could’ve used his magic and had her out in seconds, but instead he -” Tony made a motion over his throat with his thumb, “why would he make such a mess unless he had too?”
“Tony, the mans a lunatic, maybe he just likes killing?” Steve sighed, pulling another chair closer so he could sit and flick through the pages instead.
“I don’t disagree, that’s why I want to bring him in.” Tony took the page back, keeping it neatly to one side.
Steve rubbed a hand over his face and then looked out of the window. It had started to snow across the compound in the last few days, slushy grey drifts that made him think of Brooklyn in the 40s, churned up snowmen and bitter cold nights.
“What are you going to do with him, once he’s here?” He asked, his mind wandering to Bucky, currently safe on the sofa in his own apartment. Probably still mooning after Natasha, but at least he was safe. They’d locked him up too, and he was innocent, doubt crept into his consciousness but Tony was already answering.
“Lock him up, throw away the key?” Tony said, glibly .
“Tony,” Steve’s tone was firm, if they were arresting a man then they needed more of a plan than just locking him up.
“We put him on trial. Thor says he’s served time in Asgard and been ‘rehabilitated’, something about the Mind Stone and I don’t fucking buy it. He’s a liability and Thor won’t help us, went all Prince Charming with a sore head when I suggested it.”
Steve remembered Thor leaving, no one had heard from him since but he was fairly sure he was back in Norway. He wouldn’t leave the Asgardians for long.
“I remember. So, we put him on trial and then?” Steve trailed off, “put him in prison? What prison would even hold him?”
Tony’s eyes lit up, “And then we charge the Federal Bureau of Prisons a small fortune to keep him here! I love it Rogers, you’re starting to get it!”
“Tony.”
“Then we know we’re doing the right thing, okay, girl scout. He’s got that girl all wrapped around his fingers, who knows what awful, evil things he’s twisting into her mind. We get him, we get him on trial and then we get her back.”
“Fine.” Steve gave a heavy sigh, “When?”
“Tomorrow.”
“Do you know where he is?”
“Tonsberg, where else would he be,Thor said he was under Asgard’s protection.”
“Tomorrow, Tonsberg.”
“Just us though, don’t worry anyone else about it now.” Tony said, cryptically.
Steve scowled, he hated these backdoor deals, if he was doing them then so were a hundred other people and who knew what they were up to. But he had promised to keep Estrid safe and then she’d slipped away, been seduced by Loki and under his watch, kidnapped, attacked, vanished. Despite his doubts and fears about how Loki’s imprisonment might play out, he couldn’t leave a woman in such clear danger.
“Agreed, let’s get him locked up where he can’t hurt anyone anymore.”
“That’s the spirit, Rogers.” Tony grinned again and Steve’s stomach turned again.
—
Loki pulled his sweater on, abandoned on the back of the sofa the night before, and kept half an eye on you while he collected his own coffee from the kitchen island. On light steps he crept up to you and wrapped an arm around your waist.
“How’s the weather today, my Darling?” He sipped his coffee, looking down at you with that wistful smile he seemed to have permanently etched on his face.
“Cold, snowy,” anyone else may have looked miserable at prospect of a below freezing day on the unforgiving coast, but not you. No, Loki had noticed you were always happy to enjoy the changing season and everything they had to offer. Whether it was the bright sunshine he'd met you in, the crisp autumn leaves that coated the ground are his cabin, or now the blanket of snow that has been placed like a cosy blanket across the entire horizon. “We should go for a walk later, on the cliff tops, if it’s not too windy.” You suggested, finishing your coffee. You span in his arms, reaching up to tangle your fingers in his hair.
“That sounds wonderful, Asynja, I’ll try and get out of this council meeting early. In fact, would you like to attend? I believe we’re discussing the last preparations for the Solstice feast and Yule celebrations. I’m sure your new friends would enjoy your company while they weave the wreath.” He teased, kissing your forehead.
The elders of the village had taken quite a shine to you and you’d easily fallen into step with the other women, helping to prepare for the feast and giving advice on the decorations. In reality, you had no idea what was happening when they asked. It has come as a surprise that they not only allowed you to join them, but sought your input with genuine interest. Especially as you had barely celebrated anything while you lived as a mortal in London. There’d been no Yule, no Christmas. Nothing. But you were excited to share this first celebration with Loki.
“Leave my friends alone,” you chided playfully, “I’d love to come, let me just -”
You barely had to move to use your magic now, a simple flick of your fingers and you had summoned your boots and tights, a corduroy skirt and knitted jumper. Your coat and scarf were by the door. Although it was below freezing outside it didn’t seem to bother either of you, Loki never felt the cold and you were always able to conjure enough warmth in your hands to keep the Norwegian wind at bay.
“Are you ready?” You asked, skipping out of his grasp and opening the door, letting a swirl of snow in over the doorstep.
“Of course I am,” he answered, a wisp of his own magic dancing in the air as a duplicate called to you from down the street.
With a laugh you shut the door, chasing him down, your magic and laughter entwined with the softly falling snow.
Loki was right, the council meeting was no more than a decorators committee at this point in the month, but you both revelled in the feeling of being part of something more, something soft and warm that filled you with happiness just like the hot spiced wine and thick stew that was passed around at lunch time.
By the time Brunnhilde had called an ending to the proceedings it was already dark, the street light reflecting from the crisp snow and the moon illuminating the edges of the water.
“I guess we’re not going for that walk on the cliffs after all,” you grouched playfully, wrapping yourself around Loki’s arm as you walked side by side.
“As much as I’d enjoy having you all to myself in the dark of night,” Loki purred in return, freeing his arm just to wrap it around your waist, “I fear we have friends waiting.” He kissed the top of your head and you snuggled closer.
Loki led you from the Long Hall where the King held her council, and decoration, meetings to the lone pub in the village. Val had commiserated on the necessary building of some restaurants and a hotel on the edge of the village to accommodate the increasing number of tourists, but the pub remained solely for the Asgardians, their visitors, and no one else. You had a feeling there was some sort of spell or enchantment that made it invisible to the tourists that passed by the windows, but you’d never felt the need to ask when the welcome was always so warm for you.
At the entrance, Loki held the door for you, whisking away your coat in a flurry of magic and ice cold wind. Beyond the bar was already bustling with laughter and bodies, each hand raised in greeting as you both passed, some muttering “your highness” still, unable to lose their deference.
“Evening,” Loki shook hands politely with some and patted others on the shoulder, leading you to a booth by the window already occupied by Thor, beside him was a slender woman with dark brown hair and delicate features, tapping on a table and trying to show Thor something while he shuffled closer. Every time he moved, the woman moved away, just slightly, but you didn’t need to read their body language to know this was not a couple that’d last, you felt it deep inside, like an instinct.
Loki stopped and coughed loudly, “good evening, brother.” He smirked at Thor’s blush.
“Good evening, Loki.” Thor replied, stiffly, “good evening, Trouble.” He stood and crushed you into a hug, startling you out of your thoughts. “Let me introduce you to my-”
“Friend,” the woman interrupted, “Jane Foster, it’s lovely to meet you.” She smiled, shaking your hand, and scooched over enough to make space for you both on the bench seat. But as you looked at her, you could sense there was more. Images of her and Thor rose unbidden in your mind, and that golden thread of connection still hung between them, slack and dim, but still there in your mind’s eye. Interesting.
“I’m Estrid,” the name still didn’t feel right, and you’d suggested to some of the others they could use your old name as a sort of nickname, but it hadn’t stuck, not with Loki around.
“Princess Estrid,” he said, proudly, draping a protective arm around the back of the seat and rubbing his thumb against your shoulder.
“Well I sure Jane doesn’t care about all of that,” you smiled at her, and she smiled back, but before you could say anything else Thor had reached over the table and tapped a large finger on the wood.
“Doctor Jane, she’s a Doctor.”
“Yes, well, I’m sure Estrid doesn’t care about all that either,” she pushed his hand away, “I’m really pleased to meet you, Thor’s told me all about you and, well, I’ve got some experience with Asgardian nonsense too. It’s good to meet you, is what I was trying to say, and maybe I could read your electromagnetic impulses some time, if that’s okay?” Jane rushed her words out, the tablet clutched in one hand, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
“I don’t know about that,” Loki squeezed your shoulder.
“I’m sure it’ll be fine, Loki, don’t worry about it. I’d be happy for you to read my electromagnetic impulses, I think -”
The bar tender set down a tray of glasses, a tankard of ale for Thor, a glass of aged fifteen year old whiskey for Loki and a bottle of chilled white wine with two glasses.
“Loki, Thor,” the bartender nodded at them both, polite, but without the obsessive reverential treatment of the older Asgardians. “Princess,” you smiled back and thanked him.
“Doctor!” Thor tapped his finger again.
“My apologies, Doctor Foster,” he stammered, retreating to the bar.
“God he’s so embarrassing, I’m so sorry.” Jane turned to you, ignoring Thor’s aghast expression and opening the wine, “I’ll pour.”
Safe in the knowledge that you and Jane were perfectly able to handle yourselves, Thor and Loki took a polite turn around the bar, speaking with the villagers and their friends in turn.
After the first bottle, Brunnhilde appeared, signalling for the bartender for three more drinks and joining you and Jane in your booth.
“I don’t know how you both put up with those two.” She said, sliding into the seat, a bottle of wine in one hand and mead in the other.
You hadn’t realised how lovesick your sigh was until Brunnhilde laughed, shaking your shoulder, “sorry,” you blinked a few times, tearing yourself away from the sight of Loki half bent over a cards table a few feet away. His black jeans were pulled tight around the curve of his thighs and you just knew if he turned you’d be able to see the outline of every wonderful inch of him hidden beneath. He’d discarded his aran sweater when the fire had roared to life at the edge of the room, leaving him in a forest green shirt, rolled up to his elbows. As he moved you watched as the veins in his hands became more pronounced, gliding your gaze up to his broad shoulders and the black curls that fell over his face when he laughed.
It wasn’t just that he looked good enough to eat, he also looked happy, rested and content, his friends around him and purpose every day. He gave you purpose too, joining in the council activities and practising your magic.
“Hate to break it to you, B’, but I don’t put up with him anymore.” Jane said, sadly.
“What? I thought you two were-” you hesitated to elaborate and Jane took pity on you.
“We broke up, it just wasn’t working. But I’d already agreed to spend the Solstice and Yule here, so - maybe it was a stupid idea.”
“No, no-” Brunnhilde pulled her into a hug and it occurred to you that they probably already knew each other, if Thor had brought her here before. “You’re always welcome in Asgard.” The King winked and Jane blushed.
“I’m sorry - that things didn’t work - I didn’t mean,” you stammered acutely aware that this was now a reunion of friends and you knew nothing about them. “I can go, if you want to talk and catch up-”
“No, stay, please.” Jane smiled a lot, there was always something in the corner of her lips, wanting to be happy, but this smile was softer so you sat back down. “Now, tell me what it’s like having fire magic.”
The wine, beer and mead flowed freely in the tavern that night, every villager in their cups excited for the celebrations to come. At midnight you decided to head home, passing Loki on your way to the door, he slung an arm around your hips, pulling you to his side.
“I’m going to stay awhile, my darling, if you don’t mind,” he looked up at you from his cards table, his blue eyes like sparkling frost in the firelight, and you bent to kiss his quickly.
“I don’t mind, handsome, you stay.” You ran a hand through the errant curls that had formed in the warm atmosphere.
“Are you walking with someone?” Despite the many empty glasses spread across the table, he was still alert and concerned, scanning the pub for any danger. You both bore the memory of your kidnapping, a sense of fear when you were alone without anyone, despite being stronger now.
“B’ is going home too, Jane is staying in the rooms at the back, but Thor said he’d see me home if you wanted to stay.”
At the sound of his name Thor thundered towards you both, clapping a hand on your shoulder and giving you a little shake. You could almost feel the wine sloshing inside of you and you patted his fingers, hoping he’d stop.
“Fear not, brother, I can escort the maidens home.” Thor bowed theatrically, behind him Jane and Brunnhilde snorted with unrestrained laughter and you couldn’t help joining in.
“Very well, take care of my Asynja,” he tugged you down and kissed you again, the taste of whisky and honey dancing on his tongue as he deepened the kiss.
“That’s enough, either let her leave or walk her yourself.” Brunnhilde gave you a shove, waving behind her as Loki turned back to his game.
You were happy to let him stay, pleased to see he’d taken up new friendships since you’d both become so settled. You’d miss falling asleep next to him, but you knew he’d be home soon and you needed your bed immediately, your head was already swimming.
Jane left your party first, taking the steep steps at the back of the tavern to the rooms above. You’d offered her your spare room tomorrow, but tonight just thinking about removing your makeup and brushing your teeth seemed too much, making the spare bed was unimaginable.
The King took the side street behind the Long Hall, waving goodnight as you and Thor made your way to Loki’s cottage. You’d left a light on above the door and it illuminated the wreath you’d made and hung there earlier in the week.
Opening the door the soft scent of cinnamon and pine drifted into the crisp night and Thor once more embraced your arm.
“Estrid,” he looked down at you, suddenly very serious, even the way he said that name held a gravitas that gave you goosebumps.
“Yes?”
“Thank you,” he smiled, pulling you into a bear hug and squeezing you tight.
“What for?” You laughed, trying to squirm free.
“For making your home here, for trusting Loki and I. I have seldom seen him as happy as when he’s with you. I’m glad to have you here, Trouble.” He ruffled your hair playfully, his own drinking catching up to him. “May you be here for many more celebrations.”
“Well, thank you for welcoming me, Thor.” This time you lifted your arms and wrapped them around his neck, hugging him back, and he lifted you off the ground, shaking you from side to side until you were both crying with laughter. “I think -” you hiccuped, “I think we should both go to bed and sleep. Lots to do tomorrow.”
“Yes, yes,” he wiped a tear from his eye, “I must fight Loki tomorrow.”
“What?” In your bewilderment you couldn’t stop laughing.
“Oh not truly fight him. But we must pretend to fight, so I can beat winter and spring will come again. Have no fear, I shall return your beloved to you unharmed.” And with that he patted your back and wandered into the village, humming to himself. He tripped slightly on the decorations that had appeared along the harbour as you’d drunk. With a happy giggle he danced around the wreath and meandered back to his own home.
Across the harbour there was a flicker in the window of the now abandoned harbour master’s house and Steve sat back on his haunches.
“He hasn’t left that bar,” he groused, rubbing the arms of his stealth suit against the cold of the night. “But she seems safe, Thor is here as well.”
Next to him, Tony turned the heater of his suit up, “of course he is, I’ve never met a worse double agent in my life.”
“He’s hardly a double agent, he’s loyal to his brother, I can’t exactly blame him for not following orders.” He thought of his best friend, safely tucked up in the compound with his budding relationship with Natasha to distract him. He knew what it was to choose loyalty over command.
“Well, he’s not on our side. We just have to get him alone and then we can lock him up and forget about it.” Tony leant back on the creaking wicker chair.
“You said we'd do this properly.”
“Yes, yes, whatever you need to help you sleep at night Spangles.” Tony waved his hand, the gauntlet of his suit catching the faint light.
The little house had stood empty since the it’s two inhabitants had been arrested by the King of Asgard and her guards. It had been damp and cold enough before then, but now the frost lay thick on the inside, as well as the outside, of the small windows and Steve was jealous of Tony’s heating system, the soldier rubbed his hands together.
“Let's just be quick.”
“Wouldn't want you becoming a Capsicle again.”
Across the bay the tavern door opened again and a square of warm light cut across the black cobbles. In the doorway a familiar figure filled the space leaving a silhouette of his lean body dancing on the ground as he waved drunkenly behind him.
“Let’s go.” Steve ordered, pulling the dark cowl of his suit over his head.

started writing out a frostwidow fic idea to post here and now it's 1800 words on wattpad (of a plot summary in a "book" full of fic ideas like it's not a real fic yet) and the more I write of it the more fucked-up it looks and like I feel like if I wrote it for realsies it might not look so fucked up but writing it out like this makes it looks pretty fucked up and now I feel like I can't post the summary idea on wattpad which sucks because I love when people comment on them but also a lot of people on wattpad are, like, 12, and idk maybe I'm just projecting because I read a frostiron fic that's kinda similar before that was really fucked up with like torture and non-con elements (and I never did finish the fic bc I got too squeamish at that) but I feel like this isn't meant for 12-year-olds? even though objectively nothing's really happened? at which point it's like why am I even writing this out anymore if I'm not gonna post it? like I've written fics for myself before that I've never posted but this isn't even a fic it's just a fucked-up concept and ugh idk I think I'm gonna finish writing out what I can think of and maybe I'll come back and read it one day a year or two from now and I'll be glad I did
#i started following whump blogs for the whumpee/caretaker content#but i've come to really like the whole 'conditioned whumpee' thing#and i kinda wanna try my hand at that and loki's the easiest one to inflict that on because it's pretty easy to shove him in a fic and talk#about all the ways thanos fucked him up#but also it just feels like such a fucked-up concept yknow? like can I even write that? is that weird? does that make me a weird person?#i actually started a fic the other day with feral whumpee loki under caretakers!asgard's care so like this isn't entirely new#and i had that wanda and pietro and loki fic from a year or so ago too#but this just feels like an extra level of fucked up even if nat's not gonna make him do anything completely fucked up#idk i'm probably overthinking this#maybe i'll reread my whole thing in the morning and see if it looks like something a 12-year-old can read lmao#also it doesn't help than an irl follows me on wattpad and would presumably read that too so I don't want to look too fucked up lmao#although everything she writes is about self-harm and suicide so I guess there's that?

⊱ ─ ༓ ── ⋅•⋅⊰ ─ ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ∙ ⋅ ─ ⊱⋅•⋅ ── ༓ ─ ⊰
This had to be a joke.
Not only had you been given the ridiculous assignment of “accompanying” the newest member of the Avengers, the so-called God of Mischief, to Finland. Not only did you know it wasn’t accompaniment, it was actually babysitting, because despite Thor’s intense insistence that his brother be given this chance at redemption, the rest of the team still didn’t quite trust him yet.
Not only were you sure that this mission was just busy work - a way to simultaneously keep Loki distracted, and away from the prying eyes of the American government and media. And not only had this man single handedly usurped your rise from common S.H.I.E.L.D. agent to the next member of the Avengers, because the dungeons on Asgard were just too cruel for the precious Prince…
But now, there was only one bed left in this entire goddamn inn.
The sweet old woman checking you in apologized profusely when she broke the news, and you just stood there, silently fuming and clenching your jaw so hard your teeth would be aching for days. Truthfully, you should have known better - it was only four days before Christmas; how could you forget that it was technically a holiday, and that millions of people around the world would be traveling for leisure right now?
Maybe it was just because you couldn't recall the last time you'd taken a vacation, or the fact that you hadn’t spent a holiday with loved ones in years. Or maybe you’d been cursed somehow - most likely by the man standing next to you, with an infuriatingly charming grin on his face.
“Please don’t worry about it, my dear, we’ve just had quite a long day of traveling,” Loki gently assured the woman, reaching for her hand as she all but cowered in fear at your palpable rage. She seemed to relax as Loki soothed her, and you hated that it was him covering for your negative attitude instead of the other way around. “My fiancé - she’s just a bit old fashioned, and she wants to wait until marriage, you see...”
The woman smiled as if he was describing kittens snuggling together on a cold and rainy evening, and you were this close to absolutely losing your temper; he was already deviating from your mutually agreed upon cover story, that you were simply colleagues traveling to the Muotkatunturi Wilderness Area on a research trip, and he intentionally chose his own cover story to replace it - one that was designed to deliberately piss you off.
You knew Loki could feel the anger radiating off your skin, and he turned towards you with a smile of his own as he continued to act as your doting fiancé. “And I’m determined to make that a reality. I promise, I’ll be fine sleeping on the floor, alright, darling?”
He slipped his arm around your waist and pulled you closer, his emerald eyes shining as he surely relished in your discomfort. You tried to focus on that, on how angry you were at him about everything - instead of his warm embrace, or how inviting his scent was.
“Well, you’re in luck. We’ve got the most comfortable floors in all of Rovaniemi!” the woman laughed as she returned to filling out the guestbook.
It was humiliating, but it seemed as though you had no choice. You let out a heavy exhale, deciding it would be easier to just go along with his story and get this interaction over with as quickly as possible. Your only saving grace was that this was temporary - soon this reconnaissance mission would be over, and sooner or later Loki would ruin the good graces of Tony and Steve and be sent back to the dungeons on Asgard.
But until then, you were going to have to find a way to make him pay for all of this later on.
“There’s my girl. Always the brave little soldier,” he purred softly, leaning down as if he was going to kiss you. Your eyes widened in panic, desperately fighting the urge to push him away and possibly punch him in his handsome face, but Loki caught the hint and quickly looked the other way.
You turned your attention back to the front desk as the woman fiddled with the paperwork, and a group of figurines for sale caught your eye, nestled among the garland and twinkling lights. A wicked grin crept across your face as you nudged Loki’s ribs unplayfully. “Look, dear - they’ve got some Odin statues for sale. Shall we buy some to hand them out with our Christmas gifts this year?”
Loki’s gaze slowly descended into madness, and you cheered silently once you were sure you’d gotten under his skin. His jaw tightened, along with the hand pressed against your ribs, but the woman smiled happily, unaware of just who she was talking to.
“Ah, yes - these make excellent souvenirs!” the woman laughed as she picked up one of the figurines, admiring the wood carving with a loving eye. “Did you know that the myth of Santa Claus is based partially on the myth of Odin - and that it all started right here in Rovaniemi?”
“Oh, I had no idea!” you lied, almost giddy with how much this was going to piss Loki off. “Could you tell me more about that? I find Norse mythology to be just fascinating…Of course, that pesky God of Mischief certainly leaves a lot to be desired, wouldn’t you say?”
She opened her mouth to answer, clearly very pleased that someone was finally so interested in her offerings, but Loki quickly interjected with barely contained rage. “Actually, if you could just focus on retrieving our room key now, I’d really appreciate it.”
“What is the God of Mischief’s name? Loki, or something like that?” you continued with absolute delight, slipping your arm around his waist the way he’d done while teasing you. “Pretty ridiculous name, if you ask me. Thor’s name is so much more elegant…”
“Well, it’s funny you should mention that. The name Loki actually means - ”
“The keys! Now. Please,” Loki snapped as he yanked your arm away, gripping your wrist so hard you were sure it was going to leave a bruise. That was definitely going in your mission report once you’d returned to Stark Tower.
The woman faltered briefly, clearly not expecting the charming man to shift his attitude so abruptly, but she reluctantly obliged and began rummaging around in a drawer for a set of room keys.
“You’ll have to excuse my fiancé, m’am…He just doesn’t believe in all that Norse mythology nonsense, even though I think it’s super interesting…” you smirked as Loki stewed with indignation. “But it’s just this one night that you have to endure the tall tales of Norse mythology, and then we’re off to Inari in the morning…aren’t we, sweetheart?”
The sweet old woman furrowed her brow as she pulled the last set of keys from the drawer and extended them over the counter. “Oh, didn’t you hear about the blizzard arriving tonight? They’re saying it’s the storm of the century. I doubt you two will be going anywhere for a while.”
Loki’s face fell alongside yours, and you both turned to the woman with matching grimaces. “I beg your pardon?”
⊱ ─ ༓ ── ⋅•⋅⊰ ─ ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ∙ ⋅ ─ ⊱⋅•⋅ ── ༓ ─ ⊰
Your mood quickly soured by the time Loki led the way upstairs to your room; of course there was a blizzard incoming, and of course it would mean you were trapped here longer than anticipated with the most inconsiderate man alive. He took the stairs two at a time, leaving you behind to struggle with your luggage, while his belongings were no doubt stored easily inside that stupid pocket dimension of his.
If just one more thing went wrong on this trip, you feared you might actually lose it - consequences be damned.
By the time you made it down the hallway to the door of your room, Loki was casually leaning against the wall with his arms folded across his chest and a brooding expression on his face. If you didn’t hate him so much, it would have been a beautiful sight to behold.
“Hey, thanks for offering to help,” you called out sarcastically as you made your way over to him. “I’m absolutely shocked by how thoughtful and courteous you are.”
Loki scoffed and pushed himself off the wall as he pulled the key out of his pocket. “I could have just gone inside and left you wondering which door was ours. You should be grateful I didn’t.”
“Aww, is someone a little mad that I made him think about Odin?” you taunted, enjoying the way he tensed up again at the sound of his father’s name.
“No, it was just foolish. Do not make that mistake again…”
The door swung open and you rolled your eyes as you followed him inside. “Are you threatening me?”
Loki whipped around with barely restrained fury as soon as the door closed. “We’re meant to be under cover here, yes? So do you really think it’s a good idea to be throwing around my actual name just to infuriate me?” he snapped angrily, eyes blazing and fists clenching at his sides.
Your stomach did a flip in your abdomen, and you struggled to maintain an air of defiance as he continued. “You don’t know who anyone is here, or who could be listening to our conversations. So keep your mouth shut if you don’t want us to be discovered! Am I being clear?”
You nodded meekly, because that was all you could manage while kicking yourself. He was right, you were being foolish and forgetting the true purpose of this trip. Hydra could easily have eyes and ears everywhere, and if you kept pissing Loki off, he might not be inclined to save you if necessary.
And you hated that it might be necessary, because he was a literal God with infinite magic at his disposal, while you were just a fallible little human that he absolutely despised.
As Loki turned away and started pulling the drapes shut, you distracted yourself with examining the room you’d been given. Three large windows took up the entire outside wall of the room, and on either side of the lone queen-sized bed were two end-tables, each with a dark green lamp providing the only light to the room. A stone fireplace sat on the opposite side of the bed, decorated with greenery and frosted miniature Christmas trees, and a tiny wooden desk and chair were the only other pieces of furniture in the room.
It was definitely cozy, even you couldn’t deny that, but that just made it worse. In any other circumstances, you might have enjoyed this break; but the Christmas decorations just reminded you of how alone you were, and Loki’s presence only reminded you of how unnecessary you were.
And it was already starting to get uncomfortably cold inside the room. Just before Loki yanked the last curtain closed, you caught a glimpse of the snow outside; it had quickly transformed from light flurries into heavy sheets of frozen precipitation. You were in for a very cold, very long and lonely night, and daylight couldn't come soon enough.
A deep sense of dread settled in the base of your spine as you realized how long you might be trapped here with this narcissistic, self-important and delusional mockery of all the sacrifices you’d made to get to this point of your career.
You’d foregone relationships with family, friends and potential lovers to spend every waking moment either training your body or honing your skills, trying to prove your worth and dedication to keeping this world safe from anything that ever threatened it.
And the planet’s most recent threat, the reason for the Avengers’ very existence, was making himself busy pulling pillows and blankets off the bed to make his own on the hardwood floor. Loki was silent as he worked, and you couldn’t help but wonder if he was actually hurt by your teasing.
You hated it. You hated this - especially since you hadn’t expected to feel so badly about taunting him. Clearing your throat, you set your suitcase on the chair and pretended to look for something inside. “Look, I’m sorry about what happened before. I guess I’m just…on edge.”
“Why bother?” he replied coldly, and you didn’t know if it was because he wasn’t actually hurt, or if it was because he didn’t care that you were potentially sorry about hurting him. Either way, the dismissal stung.
You continued rummaging through the suitcase, anything to avoid looking at your roommate for the night. How long had it been since you’d shared such close quarters with another person? Had there been anyone since college? You already felt raw and exposed by the idea of falling asleep within the same four walls as another person; but at the very least, Loki was sticking to his word about sleeping on the floor and not in the bed with you.
“You’re not worried about the mission? Or the blizzard? Or the fact that we might kill each other at any moment?” you laughed nervously, hoping to at least break some of the tension.
Loki sighed. “This mission is a joke. The blizzard might be a problem, and yes - we might certainly try to kill each other…but none of that is cause for real concern - not to me, anyway.”
Your brow furrowed, and you turned to look at him; the God of Mischief was on his hands and knees, arranging pillows and blankets on the floor. It was an amusing sight, and you struggled to maintain focus. “Wait - you think this mission is a joke?”
He paused what he was doing, staring off into the distance with regret in his eyes as if he’d already said too much but couldn’t bring himself to stop. “Don’t think for one moment that I don’t know what this mission actually is…”
You rubbed your neck nervously, unsure of where he was going with this.
“I know how easily it would be for Stark to send in his machines to do this reconnaissance, and that the Scepter likely isn’t here. Obviously, I’d be the last person they’d ever want close to it,” Loki continued, pinching the bridge of his nose with his forefingers. “I know the others are probably on the other side of the world recovering it as we speak, and that this mission is completely pointless - hence, assigning you and I to it.”
Your heart sank as he spoke, knowing that he was probably right; that this mission was utterly pointless, that it wouldn’t advance you any further in your career. That the only thing this mission was going to lead to was meaningless and unnecessary frustration and pain for the both of you.
“I know what they - and you - don’t particularly like or trust me. And you have good reason not to.” Loki cast a tragic glance in your direction before quickly looking away again.
“So why are you here then? If you don’t want to be here, and if you don’t…” you trailed off, unsure if you should finish that thought.
Loki sighed and shook his head. “It…doesn’t matter,” he answered sadly, and your heart broke over the entire situation. You didn’t know what to say to make either of you feel better, and it was likely that nothing ever would.
“There. I think that’ll do nicely,” he announced pleasantly, abruptly changing the subject and rousing you from your pensive thoughts. You glanced over to see a grown man - a God, in fact - standing proudly over the neatly arranged pillows and blankets on the floor, and for a brief moment you couldn’t help but be amused by the sight - that is, until you noticed the state of your sleeping quarters for the foreseeable future.
“You stripped off most of the bed!” you protested angrily, examining the three paltry blankets left to keep you warm overnight.
“On the contrary - I stripped precisely half of the bed,” Loki replied as he began to remove his coat. “Of course, there’s a simple and quite easy way to double your warmth if you’re so concerned…”
“Absolutely not.” The words came out harsher than you’d intended, but even just sharing four walls felt way too close to him; sharing a bed was probably way more than you ever could handle.
“Fair enough. Shall I light a fire to keep us warm then?” Loki offered without skipping a beat, the sudden change in his tone giving you multiple rounds of whiplash. He stepped over to the fireplace to examine it, running his hands over the stone hearth’s arch before crouching next to the pile of logs.
How was he able to switch so suddenly, from profound soundness to being so thoughtful? You wanted to accept the kindness and be grateful for the change in tone, but all it did was put you on edge. You sat down on the bed and began to unlace your boots, still desperately trying not to look at him. “Don’t bother on my account,” was all the response you could manage.
The room was silent for a moment, and you could almost feel the gears turning inside Loki’s head as he tried to come up with something else to say. But why was he trying so hard? You had been counting on him retreating into himself the way he always did back at Stark Tower, or worst case - that he would be deliberately messing with you, making your life hell and again ruining your chances at proving yourself worthy.
You could feel his gaze boring into the back of your skull as your boots clattered to the floor. And when he still hadn’t tried to speak, you cautiously looked over your shoulder to him. “Was there something else you wanted?”
Loki sighed and let his eyes drift away as he shook his head. An expression of restrained exasperation crawled across his features as he made his way to the makeshift bed on the floor. “Nothing. I don’t need anything from you…”
Your brow furrowed and guilt poured into your veins with every step he took. But guilt about what? You weren’t friends. You owed him nothing. This was just a mission - nothing more, and nothing less. You opened your mouth to speak, but Loki was already laying down on the floor with his back to you, clearly uninterested in speaking anymore that night.
The room seemed colder after Loki withdrew. It was an odd, incredibly distracting feeling - one that you hadn’t ever prepared yourself for, and didn’t have the energy to explore at the moment. Sleep was calling out to you, beckoning you closer as it always did whenever the feelings all became too much.
It took so much effort to crawl underneath the three blankets on your bed, and you didn’t even bother changing out of your street clothes before cocooning yourself inside. You thought about everything in your life that had led up to this incredibly excruciating moment, all the choices you’d made and the pain you’d gone through.
All that sacrifice, and where had it gotten you?

Sleep did not come easy for you that night. Despite your body exhausted from travel and the gentle bed cradling your wearied soul, you laid awake far longer than you would have expected. So many thoughts flitting uncontrollably across your mind, so many shivers slipping along your frigid bones.
A cold draft seeped in through the seams of the windowsills as the snow poured down outside. You were still awake, curled up on your side with the blankets pulled tight around your narrow frame. Eyelids pulled shut and breath held cautiously, you struggled to keep from shivering too much as you imagined Loki on the floor.
He had to be colder than you were, and part of you wanted to ignore his possible discomfort. He deserved it, didn’t he? Maybe if he was more pleasant to be around, it wouldn’t have to be like this.
But another part of you hoped he’d be so uncomfortable that he’d ask to join you in the bed. Your thoughts returned to when he had slipped his arm around your waist earlier that evening, and you struggled to keep your heart rate in check. It was wrong, you knew it was so wrong because you were supposed to hate him, the villain who had terrorized New York City, and he was supposed to hate you, a simple mortal who was only good for kneeling.
“I know you’re awake.” His voice was a whisper, a small shadow in a room full of empty ones. You slowly opened your eyes, your pupils taking their time to adjust the dark and make out the furniture inside the room. You wanted to sit up, to peer out into the world and see if he looked any different on the floor.
“Can’t sleep. It’s too cold,” you murmured softly, barely able to even pull the blankets tighter around you.
Loki sighed off in the distance. “The power’s been knocked out by the storm, so the heating’s off.”
It was only then that you realized the bedside table lamps had gone out. Too busy retreating inside yourself, the only warm place you had left. “Oh. Hadn’t noticed.”
“I could light the fire now, if you’d like.”
No, you thought. No, that won’t do. That’s not what I want from you. “Why are you being so nice to me now?”
Loki stirred on the floor, presumably shifting underneath his blankets. He could be sitting up right now, looking at you in the dark and you wouldn’t ever know. “Some things are easier to say in the dark.”
You thought for a moment, wondering about how to beckon him closer without risking rejection, or your dignity. This shouldn’t happen; and yet, it never ever would in the light. “Then let’s stay in the dark.”
Loki didn’t respond, and silence descended upon the room again. You couldn’t stop the shivers tormenting your flesh, and your teeth clattered together as you waited for a response. This time, you were sure you were going to freeze to death, despite burning in the waiting, and yearning, and longing that rolled up and down your spine.
“But where there’s light…there’s heat,” Loki finally answered. His voice was closer, much closer now; he’d stood up, and maybe he was right next to the bed. Could you reach out and touch him? Should you?
“I’m doing just fine in the cold.”
Loki chuckled, and you felt the blankets pull away as the mattress dipped under his weight. “You shouldn’t lie to the God of Mischief, dear,” he whispered softly as he settled in behind you, curling his knees behind yours and brushing his nose against your ear.
His body was so very warm, and you were aching for his touch. “I think it’s only fair. You came to my bed, and left your blankets on the floor…” you sassed, unable to help yourself.
“You want me to retrieve them?” Loki’s voice carried the slightest hint of mockery as he started to pull away. You panicked and grabbed his hand, eagerly pulling his arm back around your waist.
“So fussy…” he murmured with a smile, his voice hot against your neck as he settled in to spoon you once more. “You want heat, but not light. You hate me, but you want me close…”
You melted in his arms, and forced out a soft, defiant sigh. “You have no idea what I want…”
“And you do?” He matched your sigh with one of his own, and pressed his hand flat against your stomach, moving languidly over the fabric of your many shirts and jackets. You could feel how much he wanted to move his hand upwards to more stimulating areas, and it was so very thrilling.
“So what do you want, hmm? Why did you tell the innkeeper we were engaged, when that wasn’t our planned cover story?” you whispered, shifting your hips and ass against his crotch.
Loki swallowed a deep groan, and you could feel your own arousal beginning to coat your inner thighs. His hand latched onto your hip, but he didn’t stop you from moving.
“Was it just to piss me off, or was it because you wanted to pretend it was true?” you continued, shifting back against him and hoping the movement would cause your clothing to reveal a little bare skin.
“The…first option. Obviously…” Loki whispered, his lips grazing over the shell of your ear as his hips started to grind against yours.
You swallowed back a moan, trying desperately to ignore his hardened length against the swell of your ass. “Which one of us is the liar now?”
“Gods, do you ever stop talking?!” he hissed as he began rummaging underneath your jacket, eagerly searching for bare skin as he pulled your shirt upwards. His hand finally found your bare hip, and his touch was white hot as he began unbuttoning your jeans.
This time, you didn’t bother hiding the moan, and you twisted ever so slightly underneath the sheets to encourage him to keep going. Your heart beat frantically in your chest and your lips parted, intending to tease him one more time with the brattiest ‘make me’ ever spoken aloud…
And then his fingers dipped beneath the waistband to slip between your slick thighs.
The sound that tumbled from your lips was equally parts gasp and whimper as his fingertips grazed over your soaked clit, and his breath was heavy against your neck. “There we go. That’s more like it…” he whispered breathlessly, slowly dragging his fingers back and forth.
Your thighs drifted apart, as much as they could while trapped inside the unyielding jeans, and your hips rolled eagerly as he pressed harder against your clit. Heat flooded your veins, pooling beneath your cheeks and spilling out of your lungs as you whimpered for more.
Loki slipped his other arm around your shoulder, those fingers curling in your hair as his lips started to kiss and suck along your neck. “So sensitive…have you always been this wet for me?”
“Yes…” you moaned honestly, unable to deny it any longer. You’d say anything to make him keep going, to keep those delicate fingers pressing and massaging and coaxing endless satisfaction from you.
“That’s a shame. We could have been doing this the whole time then…” he groaned heavily, shuddering and sighing along as if he was getting as much pleasure out of this as you were.
“Oh, my god - Loki!” you gasped as he slipped a finger inside, slowly pushing and withdrawing it from your swollen, throbbing pussy. Your hips bucked with his movements, and your fingers curled around your clothing, desperately trying to pull and shift to give him more room to work.
Loki smiled against your neck, and brought his lips up to nibble on your earlobe as he added a second finger. “This feels good, doesn’t it? You’re enjoying what I’m doing to you?”
That familiar coil of release was beginning to contract inside your core, tighter than it ever had before. Frantic whimpers of ecstasy fell from your lips, unashamed and without second-guessing. With your eyes closed and your hips writhing, you moaned louder and louder as your climax approached.
“Careful, little one. Do you want the innkeeper to hear us breaking our vows of chastity?” he taunted in a low, thrumming voice against your ear.
“I don’t care, I don’t care! Just, please - keep going!”
Loki’s fingers moved faster still, skillfully and without hesitation, as if he was completely determined to bring you to Heaven himself. But just as the floodgates were about to open, just as you were about to come so very hard, he cruelly withdrew his fingers.
“What?! No!” Your eyes flew open in shock as the pressure receded and the coil in your belly began to loosen.
Loki gazed at you with a triumphant grin on his face, his emerald eyes blazing in the dark. “Maybe now you’ll be nicer to me…now that you know what I can do to you…” he murmured, bringing his fingers to his lips and sucking your arousal from them.
Your mind reeled uncontrollably, so furious and yet still so turned on by the pleasure he’d brought and subsequently taken from you. “I- I can’t believe you…Wh-why would you’d d-do this…?” you stammered, clumsily pushing yourself up to sitting.
Loki settled on his back, grinning from ear to ear as he watched you struggling to pull your jacket off. “Surely you can. But the real question is…what are you going to do about it, hmm?”
“Oh, my God, I hate you. I hate you so much,” you groaned as you finally freed the zipper and yanked the jacket off your frame. You stumbled out of the bed, thighs trembling violently as you worked to remove the rest of your clothing. You weren’t lying; you did hate him, but goddammit he was so alluring and you desperately needed to come.
Loki watched hungrily as you stripped the rest of your clothing away and climbed back onto the bed, settling yourself over his hips. “Well, this is certainly an interesting strategy,” he whispered as he curled a hand behind your neck and pulled your lips down to his.
You moaned deeply as you kissed him back, violently and passionately moving your lips and tongue with his. You eagerly rolled your bare pussy against his clothed hips, searching for any sort of friction and for a way to tease him more than he’d teased you, to make sure you wouldn’t be denied a second time.
He met your lips just as eagerly, groaning and moaning against your mouth as he moved his hands to cup your breasts, his thumbs brushing across your nipples and driving you mad with want. Your hands moved to his jacket, grabbing and struggling to align the zipper with the chain and be able to feel his skin directly against yours.
“Use your magic, undo your clothing…” you whispered frantically against his lips, unable to see or think clearly.
“Absolutely not. Show me how much you want me…” Loki hummed teasingly, shifting his hands downwards to grasp your ass and force you to roll harder against his hips.
You grinned, pleased with his words, and pulled back to sit upright on his hips. With your full weight pressing down, you rolled yourself harder against him, and his back arched in pleasure. When his jaw clenched tight and he rolled his hips with yours, you violently pulled the jacket zipper down and then ripped his shirt open.
“Oh, you are going to pay for that, minx!” Loki hissed angrily as shirt buttons went flying across the room. He pulled his hand away as if preparing to smack your ass, but you ignored it, leaned forward to take his nipple between your lips.
Loki moaned loudly as you sucked, flicking your tongue as he squirmed and writhed beneath you. His eyes closed and both of his hands returned to your ass, and you matched every one of his moans with some of your own. Vindication and pleasure rushed up and down your spine - and then he finally magicked his clothes away.
You found yourself pressed directly against the length of his throbbing cock, and you both moaned loudly in unison at the intimate contact. He wasn’t even inside you yet, but you couldn’t believe how amazing it felt already. You shifted to bury your face in the crook of his neck, breathing in his scent and basking in the warmth of his naked body as your hips gyrated together.
The blizzard outside was forgotten, the cold air nipping at your bare skin was no longer a concern, and in that moment you couldn’t remember why you ever hated him. He whimpered in your ear and wrapped his arms tightly around your waist as your hips writhed in unison, and soon that coil was wrapping itself around every fiber of your being again.
There was nothing anyone could do to stop you from coming this time; in fact, Loki actively encouraged you to keep going through a heated, growling voice. “Yes, take it from me. Let it all out, I’ve got you…” he commanded, his fingers pressing harder into your flesh.
The orgasm ripped through you, searing every nerve ending as you thrashed on top of him. Your fingers and toes curled beyond what you thought was ever possible, and your muscles kept tensing and relaxing, grinding and rolling in a desperate attempt to keep this pleasure flowing.
Loki held on tightly, groaning and gasping right along with you until you finally started to come back down. One by one your muscles relaxed until you lay limp, breathing heavily between parted lips on top of him. You were finally sated, with no thoughts passing through you any longer; maybe now you could finally fall asleep…
Satisfied that you had gotten yours - and the better of him - you started to roll away, but his arms tightened around your body, keeping you on top of him. “Oh, I don’t think so, darling. I’m not done with you yet…”
Your eyes fluttered back open as Loki adjusted your body on top of his, and before you could muster the strength to tease him again, he was pushing himself inside you. It felt incredible, like his body was molded to fit inside yours, and you couldn’t believe he’d somehow figured out what your favorite position was.
A deep whimper of pleasure was all you could manage as you took him in, his cock pulsating inside you and filling you entirely. Loki moved his hands back down to grip your ass as he began to thrust upwards, his thighs tensing and pelvis tilting to hit your sweet spot. You shifted your knees away from his hips and hovered above them as he drove himself into you over and over again.
Almost immediately you were on the verge of coming a second time, and you cried out his name as every nerve ending fired off in rapid succession. Loki’s thrusts were relentless as he came apart with you, his fingers digging into your flesh and hips bucking wildly and uncontrollably beneath you.
You clung to each other the entire time, your minds wracked with pleasure and bodies spent until you were both just panting and laying peacefully in each other’s arms. When clarity returned, you had no idea how to react; should you push him away? Should you say something rude? Was he going to beat you to either of those options first?
The deepest, most vulnerable part of you just wanted to stay there, lingering in the bliss you both had created with each other. You’d never had a partner this exquisite before, and you didn’t know what you were going to do when you returned home - let alone the next morning.
You nestled in against his chest and listened to the sound of his heart beating - steadily, calmly, peacefully. Loki kept his arms around you, and his fingers ran through your hair, gently massaging your scalp as he held you close.
“I’ve got a lot of amends to make,” Loki said quietly, his voice tinged with melancholy.
You blinked and cautiously brought your hand to his chest, placing it soothingly over his heart. “What do you mean?”
“Earlier you asked why I was here. I’ve got a lot of amends to make,” he repeated, placing his hand over yours. “For New York, for the pain I’ve caused my father and brother, for letting myself be - ”
Loki swallowed hard and shook his head, and could almost feel the regret swelling in his eyes. There was something important he wasn’t sharing; maybe he didn’t know how, or maybe he didn’t know if he could trust you yet. Something deep inside you longed to earn that trust, something you didn’t quite understand.
“You don’t need to say it if you don’t want to. But…I’d be willing to listen, whenever you are ready,” you replied sincerely, hoping he’d believe you. And then you continued on, to make a joke and hopefully lighten the mood. “First, though, I think we need to agree to a cease-fire. In the spirit of Christmas, and whatnot.”
Loki smiled and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “I knew you’d be the first one to concede…” he murmured playfully. “But I’m feeling generous. Let’s just call it a draw…”
Your mind reeled with possibilities, unsure of what to say that wouldn’t make anything worse or ruin the moment. “Really? I thought your hatred of me was permanent…” you answered cautiously.
Loki shifted his hand to gently grasp your chin, tilting your head to look at him. “I don’t hate you. You just…bewilder and confound me…”
His gaze was soft and warm, and it almost took your breath away. If he was this delicate with someone he found this irritating, how tender could he be with someone he actually loved? And could he ever actually love you someday?
You forced a smile, and traced his cheekbones with your fingertips, hoping he couldn’t read your thoughts. “I don’t know. Maybe all the teasing and insulting was what made this so good?” you murmured playfully.
Loki returned your smile, although there was a hint of sadness you couldn’t quite place etched upon his features. “I suppose we’ll see what happens in tomorrow’s light, won’t we?”

Borrowed Time - Chapter 20
FROM THE START
Chapter 20 - Dinner Conversation (on AO3)
Excerpt:
Loki gave it some serious thought.
The truth would require him to give Strange an ounce of praise and that idea was getting lodged in his throat along with the fried dried squid. After washing it down with a bit of green tea Loki finally committed to the unpleasant task of saying, “I cannot see such a thing happening. Within the Sanctum, Strange rose quickly in part due to that incident with Mordu culling so many your magic practitioners but also yes, it must be said, he is the most gifted of their lot. Even caught off guard, I don’t see how a lone human could have overpowered him magically,” he chewed on squid for a moment more, “although … what about other personal matters? Does he take lovers?”
Three people at the table choked at once.
“A man I suppose?” Loki went on without noticing, “or perhaps a woman? Scholarly pursuits can be lonely but hardly all encompassing - what do we know of his life?”
“Ahem, we never asked,” said Stark, reaching for more soju.
“Shame, I thought you all were friends? It could have helped, this whole affair feels personal somehow.”
“If that’s the case it could be anyone, even from his surgeon days,” sighed Banner, “and I feel that like with any missing person case we already lost the most crucial time immediately after he disappeared. He should have found a way to contact us by now, what if we never hear from him?”
“Tragic,” said Loki looking around theatrically, “I think we didn’t get our Bungeo-ppang”
