I recently learned that my beloved's seemingly very normal feelings about the beatles are comprised not of general fondness for penny lane but of a deep affection for paul mccartney that is nevertheless completely overshadowed by a how much she fucking hates john lennon. what a beautiful world we live in where we can turn a corner and see brand new facets of the people we love best. she wants that man deader.

#for reasons i can't explain even to myself i assumed that swifties were john girls. why he is tswift coded in my head i do not know.#i agree that if you were assigning her beatle she'd be paul but she can't be any beatle because she would never agree to be in a band #nevertheless this belief persisted within me unexamined. maybe it's because i feel the same way about imagine and you belong with me #maybe because the yoko thing feels like a tswift move. like if you told me she'd taken up with an avant-garde performance artist/musician #and was taking him everywhere while telling the press they were one soul or w/e i would just be like seems like a tswift tuesday #we had talked beatles before! i knew penny lane was her favourite #i knew she thought they were overrated #nevertheless the depth of her true feelings... shocking... thrilling even. what else do i not know
