Currently re-hacking my 3ds so I can see the dinosaurs fighting aliens but unfortunately software is the modern form of wizardry and I am simply Not Allowed to backup my SD card. Like it's fine if I copy File A into the zip file, and it's fine if I copy File B in, but god forbids me from putting both in together and will corrupt the zip file as punishment.

#asks #actually i lied it's more complicated than that #the zip file gets corrupted only if all 18 folders are copied in #putting them in individually or in any combination is totally fine #17 folders? that's cool #but the moment all 18 are in it corrupts #tried so hard to find the folder that was causing the corruption #and i had to start over every time it corrupted #apparently it's just All Of Them Together Somehow #i'm also having to do this on my old dying laptop since i can't read my sd card on my pc #and my god that laptop is slow #it just took like 20 seconds to delete a 1kb text file #nevermind it worked fast when i deleted a file so it must've been because the file was in the zip that made it slow #you know i was using a zip file for Space Efficiency but i think zip files might be super duper slow and prone to random corruption #so screw that #in related news i'm now looking for an sd card reader for my pc #i've reinstalled/updated the hacked firmware on my 3ds so hopefully it will stop corrupting my sd cards #the thing that made me finally do it was when it corrupted my copy of HarmoKnight that was legally downloaded from eshop #on an sd card that was untouched by hacks #like “yeah okay something's wrong with this console”
