I'm going to try here to put into words my immense frustration with the "pro-choice, my body my choice" crowd who demand access to abortion all the way up until the baby is born and then celebrate mask and vaccine mandates because it's really bugging me right now and I need to vent. Feel free to ignore this.
The hypocrisy in that group is real, it's ugly, and it's inexcusable.
They are willing to use every argument in the book to justify abortion (even though a good argument for abortion literally doesn't exist) and it all boils down to this: it doesn't matter to them whether or not the fetus is a person. Because it is inside the body of the mother, she gets to do whatever she wants to it. This, they say, is freedom of choice. And this freedom of choice comes before the life inside her.
Now let's switch to how they argue for the covid mandates. Specifically, vaccine mandates (but goes for mask mandates too). Covid is deadly (so they believe) and freedom of choice doesn't apply here and isn't important because mask wearing and vaccines are potentially saving lives. Nevermind the realty that you won't know if you spread covid and you won't know if a person who contracts it is likely to end up hospitalized or dead. The knowledge that there is a small possibility of this happening is enough to them to celebrate these mandates and call you a murderer if you don't comply.
Anyone with a brain can see the glaring hypocrisy right there. But I'm going to explain it if anyone who actually subscribes to this set of beliefs reads this.
In an abortion, you are always killing someone. The goal is to kill a baby. And you say it doesn't matter since the baby is inside the woman and that means she gets to choose if the baby lives or dies. And more then that, you claim this choice is a human right.
But with covid, mask and vaccine mandates are fine because it could stop you from maybe spreading the disease to someone who might to spread it to someone who might spread it to someone who might spread it to someone who might spread to someone who might spread it to someone who might get it and might die. Freedom of choice doesn't matter in this case because there is a potential you might spread a flu that most people recover from to someone in a small minority of people that could possibly die if they get it.
In abortion, someone will die. They will be killed as a direct result of your decision and we know exactly who will die. With covid we don't know if you'll spread it or that someone who gets it from you will die or if you're involved in a chain of spreaders and someone dies it can't be traced back to you.
So if covid mandates are ok because it could have a teeny tiny potential to save someone from dying how come abortion restrictions aren't ok even though they do save someone from dying?
Abortion and pregnancy are both things that involve your body, but a vaccine is an injection into your body. If freedom of choice is so important that you can kill a baby to preserve it, then it's important enough that people should be able to choose not to get a vaccine or wear a mask even though you believe somewhere down the road it could possibly stop someone from getting a bad case of covid.
You are not about saving lives and you are not about freedom of choice if you advocate for abortion and for covid mandates. You're just a hypocrite with no real values.
