One of the most interesting ideas Pathfinder put forth was the idea that demons arise from specific mortal crimes/sins. Maybe Nerizo demons arise from the souls of particularly cruel hunters or poachers-those who hunted not for food or even challenge, but the pure, sadistic thrill of the kill. There would be a certain that these souls end up as "hunting dogs" for more powerful hunters than themselves.
That is a really awesome way to think of the nerizo! Thanks for sharing.

First Job
((Collab with @nihils-trolls. TW for torture, gore, death))
Nerizo stood in an abandoned warehouse, scant moonlight filtering through the high, narrow windows. At her side stood Allaik- The troll assigned to be her ‘handler’, and before them both sat a troll tied firmly to a metal chair.
“I don’t think you understand the situation here- you’re not really in a position to negotiate, bud.” Allaik gestures vaguely to the room around the group, his tone growing a little irritated. “You can willingly tell us where Ryubik’s being held, maybe a little extra, and you get out of this mess scot free.”
“Or,” he continues, pressing his hands together in front of him. “We can do this the hard way. Your choice.”
Nerizo’s gaze wandered as she tilted her head back, clearly bored.
“Go fuck yourselves.” The troll spat, and before Allaik could speak, Nerizo bashed her metal-plated knee into the troll’s face.
She righted herself slowly, teeth bared- the troll severely stunned by the blow which had clearly broken his nose.
“Spit it out, and I’ll make your death quick.” Nerizo hissed.
“I warned you,” Al comments. The detainee narrowed his eyes, setting his jaw and clearly not about to say a word more.
Nerizo exhaled through her teeth, steam rushing out into the still air.
Allaik sighed as well. “Where’s Ryubik being held.” he says, more like a demand than a question. “Room, building, you get the idea. I know, that you know. So talk.”
Nerizo gave the detainee a half-second to consider talking- Before slamming her heel into his gut. When he curled in on himself, choking from the blow, she swatted his jaw with her bracer in an almost lazy- but incredibly forceful blow.
Then she grabbed a fistful of his hair and jerked his head back, growling as she leaned her face into his. “Tell us where the rustblood is. Or do you wanna find out what it feels like to have every bone in your body broken?”
The detainee spat a bloody tooth into her face, and she barely flinched. Instead she just straightened, and slammed her heel into the troll’s foot. The bones gave way easily under her boot, and the troll screamed as she continued upward. The bones of his shin shattered with a forceful kick, and she then torqued his entire leg the wrong direction at the kneecap.
“Well, would you look at that…” Nerizo hissed, giving a wicked grin. “You’ve got a nice scream. I could listen to that all night.”
The poor victim sharply inhales, almost like he was going to scream again. Instead, he shakily breathes out- “Alright! Alright…”
“Ah?” Nerizo’s grin dropped, and she straightened. “Mmh. Just when I was starting to have some fun.”
It takes a second for the bound troll to collect himself before speaking. “Boss’s got.. her back at.. the office..” he says between breaths. “Soon ‘s he found out… that she was a rat… he wanted to know what.. she knew.” “Office…” Allaik mutters, thinking the information over. “Which one? You fuckers have several.”
The detained troll shuddered, taking a moment too long for Nerizo’s liking- And she moved over, lifting a foot to slam her heel into his other leg.
“Wait, wait!” Fear flickered in the troll’s eyes at the possibility of another round of broken bones, for merely taking a moment to breathe. “The Blue Hall, uptown!”
Nerizo didn’t back off, and instead her gaze turned to Allaik for confirmation that was the needed information.
Al, meanwhile raises his hand to stop. “You mean that stupid-looking bar off of Cluster Six?”
The troll nodded fervently to answer. Allaik leans back for a moment to think, sighing again.
“Hurry it up.” Nerizo urged, looking over at Allaik.
“You think I’m not movin’ as fast as I can, here?” he retorts. “Good news. The bar sounds about right. ’s not gonna be hard to get into, nor hard to search. But just from what he said, we better hurry.”
Allaik then turns to the troll in the chair one last time. “Do what you want here. I’ll pull around.” He says, starting to leave the room.
Nerizo turned back to her victim. "If you're lying," she growled. “I’ll come back to finish what I started.” Just as assurance that she would follow through, she grabbed his broken leg, braced her foot on his thigh, and cracked his femur in two. As his scream echoed in the empty warehouse, she dropped him to follow Allaik outside.
The ride across town is quick, and silent. As the pair approaches the building they’ve been directed to, Allaik speaks up finally.
“From what I know, the place only has a couple back rooms. There’s just security between us and Ryubik, and a few walls. The former… won’t be too happy about us intruding, though.”
“Who cares?” Replied Nerizo, now holding a worn broadsword sheathed on her shoulder. “If they’re weak they won’t be able to stop us.”
“Fair point. You want to lead? Or..” Allaik offers, drawing a pistol from his side.
In response, Nerizo strode ahead towards the building’s entrance. The bouncer at the door immediately picked up her ill intent and moved to block entry, and without a word Nerizo grabbed him by the face and slammed his head into the concrete wall.
His skull shattered with a sickening crack, and she dropped him before reeling back to kick the reinforced metal door.
Even for a seadweller, it would have taken a few blows. With one hit, the entire door and surrounding concrete- Reinforced with steel buried in the wall- Went flying further into the building. Nerizo entered almost casually through the large hole left in her wake, with Al following not far behind.
The bar was, for a moment, still with shock. As it registered that a pair of trolls had just entered, and it wasn’t a vehicle that had just crashed through the wall, the room exploded into chaos. Patrons fled, while security and staff drew weapons.
One troll dared to charge her with a sword, and she slammed her leg into their torso, sending them flying across the bar and clear through the far wall. She seemed to have no intent to fight, however, and continued stalking for one of the doors leading further into the building with no regards to the other armed trolls.
Allaik, on the other hand, notices several trolls at the back of the room that had just drawn an array of firearms. He ducks behind a table that’d been knocked over in the panic, grabbing Nerizo’s arm to drag her with him.
Nerizo didn’t resist- But bared her teeth at him in aggravated confusion. “What are you doing?” Almost as soon as she’d finished speaking, a hail of bullets that almost certainly would have riddled her instead thudded into the table.
“Trying to keep you from getting torn apart?” he spits. “We’re just lucky this thing is decently solid.” Allaik barely pokes his head out from the side of cover to look around, and the other trolls keep up a barrage. With a flick of his wrist in front of him, his eyes flash red for a brief moment.
A couple of the guntrolls’ outfits burst into flames. Nerizo had already jumped out from behind the table, leaping overtop and streaking through the mangled bar. The two remaining guntrolls fired in vain, narrowly missing, and Nerizo slammed her foot into the face of one- Completely removing his head. She landed, skidding on the floor and in the same move, setting her sights on the second guntroll.
A well-placed shot blew through her shoulder, causing her to stagger and allowing a second shot to land on her gut. Snarling in fury, Nerizo lunged and put her fist through the troll’s face. Lurching upright, gold blood spattering on the bar floor, Nerizo clutched the hole in her shoulder and searched for her next target.
Since everyone seemed to be focused on the bulwark of a goldblood, Al darts off to the side. He slips into an unguarded door, continuing the search for Ryubik. After all, that was their top priority here.
Two trolls charged Nerizo, one armed with a knife, and the other with a baseball bat full of nails. The latter troll swung the bat at her head and she caught the weapon near the base, claws crunching through the solid wood and shattering it.
The blueblood, frozen in horror, was dispatched with a single punch to the gut- One that nigh liquified his organs- And the knife-wielding troll began to back off.
Nerizo grinned at them, and they turned to bolt.
The room emptied, Nerizo took off down the hall to help find Ryubik. As she moved, Allaik steps out of an open door along the hall- gun raised in her direction. Though in an instant, he drops it to his side, realizing it was Nerizo rather than an enemy.
Nerizo had frozen, and remained tense as a coiled spring, wariness alight in her eyes as though she expected him to raise the weapon again.
“Scared the fuck out of me,” Al mumbles, turning back to the room he came out of. “We’ve got a problem..” his voice draws out, motioning for Nerizo to enter.
Like a spooked cat, Nerizo moved slowly, gaze fixed on Allaik as she moved closer and turned her gaze into the room- Immediately spotting the dead rustblood on the floor. She recognized her from the pictures- Ryubik.
Nerizo gave a bad-tempered scoff. “Can’t even stay alive long enough to be saved.”
“Yeah. Well, this poses something new- our intel’s likely been breached thanks to this. Which means we need to switch gears. That psionic user can’t leave the building alive. No one here can,” Al says, a slight ache in his tone.
Nerizo grinned. Though she had just seemed bored during the briefing, she had been listening.
“Plan B.” She said, hefting her sword onto her shoulder. “You’d better get out of here unless you wanna die, too.”
“ ‘d rather not die, no. But I need to grab something first,” Allaik says, stepping over to inspect Ryubik’s corpse. He reaches into a pocket on the inside of their coat, pulling out a tiny plastic object, and a dark-colored coin.
Nerizo was paying him no mind, distracted by a fresh wave of armed trolls attempting to blockade the two of them in the hallway. She braced both feet on the ground and swung her sheathed sword through the air in the direction of one blockade.
A cutter of pinkish energy radiated off her swing, arcing out and growing rapidly as it obliterated everything in its path. An entire swath of the building was decimated clear through to the lot beyond, with nothing left of the trolls that had been in the hall.
Without pause Nerizo turned on her heel to swing the weapon vertically, doing much the same to the other group of trolls on the other end, this time leaving a deep chasm in the ground in their stead.
Finished with his collection, Allaik pokes his head out and sees the massive destruction that Nerizo’s caused in a span of three seconds. He decides very quickly he wants nothing further to do with this- using the opportunity given to make an escape.
Nerizo continued her obliteration of the building, toppling it in just a few more swings- And then kicking through the rubble for survivors, the scent of their blood and fear all too easy for her to track.
A number of trolls had fled- Patrons, and even some staff, from the moment she had entered. Unfortunately now there was nowhere they could hide from her.
After leveling the building she darted off, hunting down the scent-trails of every single troll who had been in the bar even remotely near the time of her entry- Finding them in their own hives, bolt holes, places they deemed safe. Nerizo killed them quickly, and killed anyone they were with for good measure- The scents becoming muddled at that point, and she didn’t care to risk them knowing something.
After two hours, Nerizo sought out Allaik, as he had left the bar. He was leaning on the hood of the car they arrived in, taking a long drag off a cigarette- seemingly just waiting for her.
Nerizo stopped in front of him. Her previous glee was replaced with a dead-eyed glower that might have been her expression of exhaustion. Her clothes were soaked in blood, both her own, and that of her victims. Some of them had managed to get another hit or two on her, and blood now streaked her face from a gash on her forehead.
After a moment, she rolled her wounded shoulder, and then grit her teeth while she dug her fingers into the injury. She pulled out a bullet lodged deep in her flesh, and flicked it away with a look of disgust.
Allaik glances at her as she does this. Without a word, he moves to dig around in the back seat of the vehicle- pulling out an old first aid kit he’d left there from some other trip.
“You, uh. Want a little help with all that, bud?” he asks, opening up the container to see what’s left of it. However, he’s met with silence.
He pulls out a pack of gauze and bandages, waiting a beat for a response. “... You gonna get pissed if I decide to patch those up anyway?”
“Hah?” Nerizo seemed to have been waiting for direction and tilted her head, appearing puzzled. She lurched over and crawled into the back seat, half collapsing but positioning herself so that her injuries could be reached. Sirens wailed in the distance, though Nerizo ignored them.
“.. I’ll do a better job later, don’t exactly have the best tools for this.” Allaik spoke while he began to clean up what injuries he could reach. Despite the cool exterior he usually kept, there was the unmistakable air of bewilderment about him. Concern knitted in his brow.
Nerizo watched him, golden eyes fixed on his face as he worked, though she remained silent- Only baring her teeth and hissing faintly as he dabbed the wounds with antiseptic. He didn’t speak at all either, moving as quickly as he was able.
After he was done patching her up and shut the door, Nerizo curled up in the backseat. Allaik hopped in the driver’s seat and finally left, heading for the hotel to report back to Nacre.

Context on the Abyss:
There's more information I wrote on Nerizo. But we haven't dug that deep yet :]
Transcript under cut:
Hell/the Infernal plane is the upper of the two, below the material plane. Devils and such are the primary resident, but there are demons in the deepest recesses of the Infernal plane (pulls energy from the Abyss below)
The Abyss is the absolute lowest plane. All the energy from the above planes trickles down into here, making it sort of a twisted mishmash of the upper planes. Demons feed on this energy, as I discussed before.
Unfortunate souls get pulled into Hell and the Abyss (Hell more often, as it's higher up) and tormented for the energy of despair and pain they produce, or just eaten. They might get pulled from any plane, including the realm of Death, though I imagine she's not too happy about that one. (You could also say the weight of a soul's sin makes it easier to pull into the underworld)
Demons of a sort can also spawn in the Void between planes. These demons are incorporeal and feed on latent energy / souls slowly before they finally accrue enough energy to enter some other plane and possess a body. Gurren is one of these.
I guess alternatively Death could willingly toss souls that need some punishment into the lower planes. lmao
[Image 2]
its basically a messy, violent power hierarchy. weaker demons tend to flock under stronger ones for a number of reasons- status quo, safety, resources, a chance at striking a higher position.
energy and souls from the higher planes trickle down into the abyss. some demons grow fantastically strong gorging on that energy- tricking mortals into parting with their souls means that energy goes straight to them rather than losing strength by drifting around, cycling around in the afterlife or whatever. the energy of the cardinal sins is pretty potent too- and it can be produced by demons themselves, so strongly exemplifying those aspects is also a way to grow powerful.
those energy resources as well as things pertaining to them- mortal souls that have been dragged into the abyss for eternal torment, gold, hellfire, ect.. are hoarded and collected in masses of terrible energy, cities of pain. 'lone' demons that don't stay near these areas or work under a stronger demon are basically fucked out of any of those resources, plus they risk being eaten- It's always a risk but if they have a master, they basically only risk their master eating them and not any stronger demon that happens to stumble across them.
in the abyss, demons are semi immortal. physically slaying them will have no effect- but if another demon consumes their energy, then they cease to exist. the strongest demons are impossible to consume and so they'll come back anyway.

>> You're waiting. You were told to be here at 1am. It is currently roughly 11pm, though you're unaware of this and couldn't give half a shit about what time it is. You just know that you have to wait for your next job.
