A very musical Thank You!
For 1600 Kudos ❤️(and ✨Rank 36✨ on Wattpad for the romance-friendship, wow!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's our best ranking week ever and it's all thanks to you, dear readers! 🍷
As something a little different, I wanted to share some of the tracks I've come to associate with certain characters or story ideas!
When I'm in the zone, longer writing segments will usually have more ambient music - if I remember to put it on (sometimes I'm just too focused and there isn't any music at all).
I hope you enjoy! Thank you all again for your continued support!

who’s a better guitarist: cobain or zappa
I think this might be bait but I kind of like it because at a certain level of irrepressible nerditry I can actually just say with confidence that if I was in a room with Cobain and I said ‘Cobain’ he would look shocked and then embarrassed and disagree. And not just embarrassed for himself: for me, too.

Hello hello! I have a bit of a random ask for you.... Do you remember what first got you interested in medieval stuff? 😁
Thanks for the ask!
My general nerditry has had me in the general sphere of medieval weapons for a while - stuff like what weapon would be best for a zombie apocalypse you get it - and as I started paying more attention to it I realised that weapons and their history are really interesting! The rest is history

Ultimate Nerditry vs. Anomia
In an ironic clash of passions and unable to use the right words, I got really excited about hearing Kol Nodrei for the first time in ages, and gleefully said, "ooh! The Kohlrabi!" Maybe you had to be there but it was hella funny and I needed the laugh after being sick for a week etc etc

They’re not kidding about the detail: a lap by lap analysis of Bobby K’s FP3 and Quali including lap times, team radio, and interview comments from the man himself.
Beyond the self evident interest for the Kubs aficionado, it’s a nifty look into how a driver and team work together on getting lap times down within a short familiarization window while balancing factors like competing priorities, available tyres, wind, traffic, and the desire above all not to bin the car.

We know Harvey really likes jazz, but does he ever listen to other music dramas?
Oh definitely.  A lot of his jazz leanings come from his grandfather, who used to put on Miles Davis’s A Kind Of Blue when the it was the grandkids’ naptime.  There’s a big calming/safety vibe there, so he gravitates to that a lot when he’s anxious (which as you might’ve noticed is most of the time).
He does like a fair amount of classic soul and blues.  Ray Charles, Otis Redding, etc.  Literally has every album Ben E. King ever made.  There’s a fair amount of folk and storyteller types in there, too (Leonard Cohen’s Songs of Love and Hate usually gets a spin once a month at least).  Not to mention a sizable section just devoted to string quartets and piano instrumentals.  Plus some classic rock and weird 80s electronica.
Maru has been making a solid effort to introduce him to chillwave.
Needless to say, this is a man who is delighted that vinyl pressing has come back into fashion.

Me: "e" is the first one that comes to mind
The Hubby: You know because pi is infinite somewhere in pi there is "e"

That was Kim Possible! Made possible for all of us courtesy of Lamonta. I have to say, I enjoyed that a lot more than I expected. If you had a good time too, perhaps consider the following suggestions for letting me know!
Tell me you love me! I’m needy and also not a fucking mindreader.
Sponsor me at my Patreon! It’s that sponsorship that keeps my puppy fed and allows my job to be entertaining you. Not only does becoming my patron let the content flow here, but you can get some pretty fucking sweet bonus exclusive shit, too!
Tip me at Ko-Fi! If you really enjoyed yourself today, this is a great way to let me know, and can help steer me toward future content. All tips for the next couple months will go toward birthday treats.
Embrace that capitalism! Nothing says love and appreciation like material goods! I’ve set up some wishlists on Gift Hero if you’d rather not trust me to spend money, which is very fair. Updating for birthday gifting if one is so inclined!
Send me love/hate mail! I’ve got a shiny PO Box, after all, might as well use it. (Doc and I share it, by the way, so you can send her stuff there too!) If you’ve got a thing you’d like to send my way, I’d love to receive it!     Jet Wolf (and/or Doc Holligay)     PO Box 1621     Billings, MT  59103
Tomorrow I have the day off for my and now-older-than-thirteen Hubby’s anniversary. But perhaps I’ll share some of our NWN nerditry? Will I play a monk yet again or roll up something else? WHO KNOWS NOT ME
Tuesday, on the Patreon, we’ve got Gravity Falls and our livestream of Gunpowder Milkshake, so pencil those in, and Wednesday @docholligay and I will have one of our livestream snackbox things. Then it’s September and I’m not quite sure what’s after that, but I will soon, theoretically.
I’m off now to eat chili and force everyone to watch another episode of I, Claudius. UNTIL NEXT TIME MY NAKED LITTLE HEROES

Challenge #02544-F354: High Offensensitivity Rating
There was a cosplay event, the hotel didn't 'bother' catering for food or drink separately. Lunch Break! -- Anon Guest
Among the many mistakes the organisers made was to hold a high-nerditry event in an extremely non-nerdy city. On the other hand, the place was usefully central to all available modes of transport. The conservative citizens were busy holding protests near the main convention entrance and the hotel complex wished to deny to everyone else that they were holding host to weirdos.
There were people dressed up as animals. There were people dressed up as monsters. There were people dressed up as demons, and that was way too much for the conservative general populace to face in -say- the Hotel's free buffet. The hotel really should have thought about that before indulging the staff's reluctance to bring an entire convention the fruits of a proper dining hall. Food and beverages laid out before the weirdos arrived en masse... quickly ran out as hungry hordes of cosplayers descended on the limited offerings.
Then someone said, "There's a free buffet downstairs off the lobby," and the hungry multitude charged downstairs. Vampires, robots, demons, elves, heroes, villains, and fur-suited creatures in all hues achievable by makeup and mankind. Everything strange, unfamiliar, and foreign to conservative minds came swarming down to the more public buffet zone.

i’m trying to hold back on obnoxious arrogant nerditry---but I did like Diogenes being described as “a big thinky guy”. i mean i guess?
