Neptune's S/o teaching him how to dance

There's only a few people who know that Neptune can't dance.

Jaune, Sun and you

The dance was right around the corner and you had your mind set on teaching your boyfriend how to dance

Steps on your toes!!!

Low jazz music echoed in the dorm room, the soft tune soothing to the ear. The silhouette of two figures slowly moving to the beat. The room was lightly dim with, a soft breeze enclosing the room from the opened window.

Neptune's eyes starred to the ground, watching the pair's feet move in sync. The blue haired boy was careful to place his footing, in fear he'll step on his lovers toes. His lover was in front of him, there hands clasped over his. They struggled to keep there poker face watching in amusement as Neptune struggled to remember the formation of the dance.

The dance was coming soon and Neptune was excited to spend the evening with his lover. Problem was however Neptune didn't know how to dance. Only few people knew of this, his closest friend Sun and of course Y/n. Y/n didn't hesitate to offer to teach there boyfriend how to dance which Neptune gladly took.

" Am I doing this correctly?" He asked sheepishly, a pink blush rising to his cheeks. His lover chuckled only further flustering the boy.

" Well you didn't step on my feet this time. And you got the formation down." Y/n replied, squeezing Neptune's hand gently. A small crept onto the boys face, his bluebell eyes staring directly into there e/c ones.

Y/n felt heat raising to her face as the boy gently brought there hand to his face, his soft baby pink lips brushing against there skin, before placing a gentle kiss on there knuckles.

DATING HEADCANONS

LIE REN

like many who encounter Lie Ren, he is incredibly quiet and reserved, so does not elaborate on his feelings or mood very well. he keeps to himself and prefers to observe others as opposed to getting to know them on a personal basis, so it may be some time until one discovers if Ren even “likes” them.

Nora Valkyrie is his best childhood friend and knows him better than the many he encounters, so he would watch how they interact with her. he cares for Nora deeply and has an incredibly deep relationship with her, so will not appreciate those who treat her poorly or dismissive by any means.

Ren is not necessarily cold, but is incredibly collected, thus responds to certain situations separately from others. a person confessing their feelings for him out of the blue would surprise him, and while he would remain polite, would decline. he needs to have a connection formed first.

after getting to know one another in a more personal setting, he would slowly gather likes, hobbies, dislikes, and the related to someone he is interested in. of course, he would keep it to himself, never completely revealing the small details he learns of them.

he pays incredibly close attention to body language and facial expressions in conversation, whether you are speaking directly to him or others. Ren is mindful, hesitant on hurting anyone so, takes the precaution beforehand. he will see what makes you upset, what upsets you, and how he can avoid making you uncomfortable.

if you are sick, he won’t hesitate to perform home remedies to help your condition better. herbs, teas, aromatherapy, oils and the like to assist you. he cares for your health and well-being, and will take time to make sure you feel at ease.

if you respond well to physical contact, he won’t be opposed to holding your hand at first, and even hugs. if you do not respond well to physical contact, whether in private or publicly, he will take that into account and only respond if you initiate it.

he wouldn’t mind small outings every now and again, and would be open for new experiences, as long as you both are comfortable.

NEPTUNE VASILIAS

appearance means a lot to this Huntsman in training, so expect him to have a very flashy and overconfident approach if he were to like you. always up to date with the latest fashion trends, he can appear to be superficial when approaching a potential admirer.

he is incredibly flirtatious; so much so that it could be an issue in his relationship with someone. it comes second nature to him, giving compliments, winking, providing a charming smile, and sweet-talking his way into the hearts of others. most of the time it is harmless, but he does enjoy seeing where it could take him.

if you have a great sense of style, he’ll definitely take that into account. he enjoys others looking as well as he does, and is incredibly prideful in presenting himself to others. if he sees that you take care of yourself well, that is a plus. at the same time, if you have your own form of fashion, he will note that as well, and remain curious.

while he presents a sense of confidence, he has his fair share of insecurities. if someone he is dating supports him healthily to overcome those, he will be appreciative – though it will take time. his aquaphobia, vanity and arrogance can be a bit much at times, but even he recognizes when it can be a bit much for others.

Neptune would love to go on dates, whether to a shopping district, a restaurant, club setting – to show his significant other off. if they are more introverted and feel uncomfortable with such environments, it may be difficult for him at first to comprehend why they wouldn’t want the spotlight or be in a “fun” setting. however, he wouldn’t push it, and leave them to their time alone.

this does not mean he is completely dismissive – Neptune is incredibly intelligent – despite his “try-hard cool guy” persona, and will register what you approve and disapprove of. if you need to speak to him about things that are incredibly concerning to you, he will listen, and put time aside to focus attention on it.

he will most definitely spoil you: giving you gifts, buying you things you have your eyes on, creating clever surprises, and the related. a part of him wants to show his significant other how much he cares – not just emotionally, but physically, as well.

Neptune will surprise you with kisses and playful touches to catch you off guard, but knows his limit.

Who asked who out first?

You asked Neptune. The man might like to brag that he was popular with the ladies, and as far as his looks went he did get fawned over, but when it came time to actually make a move… he was a bit awkward and nervous to take the first step. It was like diving headfirst into an ocean of uncertainty and you knew how he felt about water, so you decided to build the bridge so he’d feel a little steadier. He’s surprised when you ask him out on a date, making an offhand joke about how he should’ve been the one to ask you, but looks notably relieved that you had asked him and tells you it’d be an honor to accompany you on a night on the town.

Who initiated the first kiss?

Neptune did, and he was as obvious as he possibly could be about it. Sun had told him to take it easy, feel it out and see what you were comfortable with, but Neptune couldn’t help but blatantly stare at your lips all night. They just looked irresistibly soft and his thoughts drifted to all the things you might taste like; did you wear something flavored on your lips? You had to, right? There’s no way they’d look that great without some type of extra- His thoughts are interrupted as he had been subconsciously moving closer without realizing it, and you’d decided to close the rest of the gap since he’d at least made the first move at that moment.

Who said I love you first?

Neptune did. He looked more nervous than when you’d originally asked him out and you worried that something might be wrong, something that he didn’t want to talk to you about in fear of not looking manly or cool anymore. You’d had that talk before about him confiding anything he needed to in you regardless of how it made him look which led you in that moment to poke and pry at him; once you got the feeling it was nothing serious you began to tease him and with a pout, he admits that he wanted to tell you he loves you but he’s not regretting that decision. His eyes light up when your cheeks turn darker and you can’t look at him, happy to finally be the one flustering you.

Who keeps a picture of the other around?

You have the picture of Neptune in his odd detective get-up because you could never get enough of it and he hadn’t stopped bragging about it for a week, so it was also a fond yet mildly annoying memory for you to tap into. You like to look at it when you don’t have the chance to see him around, which is rather rare as he always attempts to make some type of time for you (even if it’s just a quick moment in the hall where he gives you a peck before running off to train). Neptune, at one point, had a little picture of you stuffed in a notebook that was surrounded by hearts he doodled around it while he wasn’t paying attention in class but he claimed to have discarded it after the rest of team SSSN found it and teased him over it.

Who proposes?

Neptune tries to, but you offer up a little help as he can’t seem to get the words out. He finds it hard to even look you in the eye as he talked about his love for you, how he’d never expected to find just one person who could keep him happy for such a long period of time, and that he’d thought a lot about taking this next step. He’s stick on the ‘Will you…?’ part of the proposal as he looks up at you from the ground, having gotten down on one knee before he’d even completed his sentence, and you couldn’t help but smile as you took the ring from the velvety box and slipped it on your own finger. You asked if he’d marry you, to which he nodded enthusiastically before bringing you into a tight hug.

Who does the dishes?

Neptune prefers not to do the dishes as he doesn’t like how wrinkly the water makes his hands nor does he like dealing with any type of water when he doesn’t feel like it, so he’s prone to just shoving the dishes in a dishwasher and hoping for the best. He doesn’t mind doing other tasks around the house but you can almost guarantee he’ll forget to take out the trash unless you repeatedly remind him or he’ll leave the bed a mess if he’s the last one out of it. He just needs some gentle reminders here and there.

Who’s the first to wake up in the morning?

Neptune’s sensitive to the sun so if your bedroom isn’t well-covered by blackout curtains, he’s generally the first to wake up as the sun always seems to find its way to his face. He’s not thrilled about it but he doesn’t think there’s a point to going back to sleep, so he’ll trudge around the bedroom and sit in the living room in hopes of his energy slowly but surely coming to him. Sometimes you’ll hear him in the shower groaning about the icy cold water he was using in an attempt to jumpstart his energy for the day.

Who worries more about the other?

Neptune had a tendency to worry about silly things in a relationship, like if you’d still love him if you saw what he looked like in the morning or if you had to deal with him when he was sick or injured. You’re not quite sure why he worried about such things considering knowing your partner intimately was part of being in a relationship but you did what you could to assuage his worries, letting him know he looked just fine even if his hair wasn’t perfectly done and he looked like death when he rolled out of bed in the morning. He constantly seems to be in a contest with himself in showing he was a capable partner who could keep you safe and keep you happy no matter what happened, and it’s only years later that he realized how childish it was to think being in a relationship was some type of competition.

most of your friends at school seemed to be in a relationship or at least crushing on someone

and since you didn't want to be left out, you ended up lying, telling them that you were in a long distance relationship with neptune!

for a while, everything went well, as you didn't have to see him, nor be in any other form of contact with him

but when the vytal festival came around and team snnn visited beacon, your supposed boyfriend came along with them!

at the first best chance that you got, you dragged neptune aside, before anyone could see the two of you together, practically begging him to play your boyfriend – at least until the end of the vytal festival!

neptune was a bit perplexed, but ultimately amused to find out he had been ‘dating’ you for all this time, unable to tease you about it, before agreeing to play your boyfriend for a while

with the two of you being together now, you didn't waste any time to introduce neptune to your friends, who admittedly were surprised to see you two were actually a couple!

for the next few days, the two of you played the role of the couple marvelously, with nobody suspecting anything

you almost thought you'd get away with it, until on the last night of the vytal festival, when sun let it slip to your friends that neptune wasn't actually your boyfriend

turns out neptune had told sun about it, knowing he couldn't lie to him. and sun just couldn't keep the secret, accidentally letting everyone know it was all just an act

while you were incredibly embarrassed, neptune seemed to take it well. he comforted you and assured you that you had nothing to worry about

and if you wanted, he'd even go out with you for real, to show everyone that the two of you really could be the great couple everyone thought you were…
