Quick and not so subtle reminder that martial law, contrary to the NEPD’s belief, does not mean all of our constitutional rights are suspended. A MESSAGE FROM CITY HALL || 29 June 2019

My fellow citizens,

I’m sure you’re all excited for summer.  The long days and plenty of fun in the sun.  Regretfully, we are on the cusp of an intense heatwave, with high humidity and temperatures soaring into the 90s, and real feel well above 100.  It is imperative to always stay hydrated, and limit exposure to direct sunlight.  Keep pets indoors and off of hot pavement.  Perhaps visit one of the many municipal pools in the city to cool off!  

However, with that said, today I am enacting a Code Orange.  Temporary heat shelters will open in each borough, and NEPD are encouraged to get the homeless off of the streets and into the shelters during the peak hours of the day.

And I wish to emphasize this right now: these shelters are open to all.  Regardless of mark.

Good evening, Citizens of New Eden.

For those of you who are unaware, my name is Theodora Lee, and today marks my first official day as Mayor of this great city. Now, as we all know, there have been some rather interesting choices made by my predecessor, some of which may have led us to our current state of... disorder, but I plan to remedy that immediately.

There have been some alarming reports of citizens who choose to pay fines rather than give in to their body’s natural inclinations, and we all know that the longer we hold things inside of us, the more danger we create for ourselves and the ones around us. As such, I will be instituting a policy of maintenance punishments, to be performed every two weeks, to ensure that all of our citizens are being cared for. Submissives who are currently unclaimed will submit to any Dominant who chooses to care for you. Those who refuse to abide by this new ordinance will be brought to NEPD, where an officer will administer the punishment. 

Dominants, you may choose whichever submissive you would like to interact with. Of course, those in claims may choose to keep the punishments within those pairings, or may choose to branch out based on personal preference. However, in order to ensure the safety of all, there are several rules that will be in place.

First, sexual punishments are not permitted unless both parties explicitly consent to it. This is meant to aid our submissives, not traumatize them. 

Second, we urge Dominants to branch out in terms of submissives they choose to dominate, as it is important that we are all exposed to different varieties of dominance and submission. 

Third, once a maintenance punishment has been completed, the Dominant partner will submit a short report to my office that provides the details of the parties involved, and a brief description of the punishment. 

Rest assured, I am committed to returning New Eden to its former glory. Our citizens should not fear or resist what is natural to us all. We hope that as we all move forward and heal, that we can come to embrace what makes us unique, and we can become a stronger, more connected city.

On Friday, November 15th, 2019, at around 1pm EST, the sit ins at Manor Park naturally progress into a march that begins in the park and soon spreads out over the entire city. While Manor Park was not the only sit in or protest happening, through coordination and sheer determination, the isolated protests begin to band together through this march, over half the city strong. 

The numbers are too great to count, though the leaders of each swarm of people begin to lead their marches towards the place this all begin: City Hall and the precinct next to it. They are blocked and barricaded by the National Guard and NEPD trying to contain them, to call for order and command them to disperse.

Some do disperse, afraid of what it might mean if they do not, though many remain. 

At 4:45 PM, after the sun has set, the majority of the protesters and marchers pull on Nameless replica masks ( though some actual Nameless members are in the crowd ) and begin chants of ‘we are the nameless’, ‘fuck the police’, and ‘this is not New Eden’ among others. 

A few hours later at 9 PM EST, the first “shot” is fired in the form of the National Guard launching a tear gas canister into the crowd to, once again, force dispersion. This causes chaos to break out with more tear gas canisters being shot into the crowd. One brave soul scoops one up and throws it back to the troops, causing them to disperse as well. All at once, the march turns violent. Beanbag rounds, rubber bullets, pepper spray, tear gas, and high pressure hoses are some of the tools used to try and push back the crowd. 

The mood of the crowd shifts from peaceful to angry, especially because everyone in the crowd is unarmed. Some people begin running away, while others run towards the fight. Injuries and casualties occur on both sides of the crowd, and the fight lasts until sunrise. Neither side wins or gains power over the other, the unarmed masses against the armed guards who threatened New Eden’s way of life.
