favorite niche idkhow fun fact is that on physical razzmatazz releases the space between new invention and gallows samples an extremely obscure image album based on a pretty underground manga series called neko janai mon (lit. i am not a cat) in reverse

okay SO.

i got my razzmatazz cd

put it in my cd/dvd player

ripped the tracks onto my computer

opened new invention in audacity and found the outro bit

reversed it (heard what’s in the audio post)

spent a good hour or so trying to translate it without realizing it was in japanese

asked a friend who knows japanese and told me that it was definitely japanese and it was saying ‘neko ja nai no’ which means ‘it’s not a cat’

googled it out of curiosity...

discovered that it is, in fact, actually a direct sample from the 1983 vinyl soundtrack of the manga Neko Janai Mon! ("I'm Not a Cat, You Know!")

so. yeah. carry on. stream razzmatazz.
