Once upon a time, in the bustling port city of Riverton, two unparalleled thieves, Ariella and Knox, made a living by stealing from the rich to give to themselves. Together, they formed an unmatched duo, skilled in deception and acrobatics, ensuring that no heist was too difficult for them. They had only one rule set between them: under no circumstances were they to die during a mission. Despite their nefarious activities, they shared a genuine bond of friendship, and couldn't bear the thought of losing one another.

However, fate rarely allows life to remain smooth and uneventful. One day, Ariella and Knox were handed a job by one of their trusted fences, Mr. Hamilton. It involved the burglary of the most exclusive and heavily guarded mansion, owned by the malevolent Lord Ravenswood. A priceless artifact, known as the Cursed Emerald, was said to be stowed away in his private vault. This powerful gem was believed to grant riches and power to the one who could unravel its secrets.

Fully aware of the risks ahead, Ariella and Knox spent weeks formulating a thorough plan, taking into account every possible complication. With nerves of steel, the day finally arrived, and they embarked on their most dangerous mission yet.

As they navigated the shadows of the imposing Ravenswood mansion, the duo encountered countless security measures the likes of which they hadn't seen before. Through a combination of cunning, agility, and sheer determination, they surpassed each hurdle, gradually making their way to the ominous vault.

With just a few more steps to go, Knox unknowingly triggered a hidden pressure plate. The room shuddered, a heavy steel door began to descend, and numerous arrows flew from hidden slits in the walls. On instinct, Ariella pushed Knox out of the way, getting struck by an arrow in the process. Her body crumpled, heavy with the weight of the poison coating the weapon.

Knox scrambled to his feet and rushed to Ariella's side, desperately trying to stem the flow of blood.

"What's the one thing I told you not to do, huh? Don't die. One thing. One thing! Can't you for once in your life just follow orders?" he frantically demanded, tears streaming down his cheeks.

Ariella managed a weak smile. "I— I'm d-doing my b...”

Her gaze began to glaze over, eyes rolling back into her head. "Shit, shit, don't pass out, you asshole, wake up, " Knox cried, terrified of losing his dear friend.

With the last remaining ounce of strength, Ariella forced her eyes open and pulled Knox closer. In a hushed whisper, she revealed her secret knowledge of an antidote hidden somewhere in the mansion. The information was acquired during her late-night ventures into Lord Ravenswood's illicit documents.

Fueled by a newfound sense of purpose, Knox refused to give in to despair. With Ariella's wounded body tucked away in a hidden alcove, he set out to find the antidote to save her life. Racing against the clock, Knox combatted his mounting dread as he delved deep into the heart of the mansion.

As luck would have it, the antidote’s recipe was located in Lord Ravenswood's secret alchemy lab. Knox quickly concocted the potion, thanking the heavens for Ariella's penchant for learning new trades—having taught him a thing or two about alchemy to help with their heists.

He hurried back to Ariella, administering the antidote as her breathing grew shallow. To Knox's immense relief, the color gradually returned to her face, and she gasped for air as the poison released its grip on her life.

Though the odds were still against them, Ariella and Knox clung to hope. Struggling and dependent upon one another, the duo managed to retrace their steps. They finally obtained the Cursed Emerald and escaped the treacherous mansion.

With the artifact in hand and Ariella recovering, the two thieves spent nights at the local tavern, planning their future together. A life where the shadows would be left behind, and the sun would finally have a chance to grace their faces. They knew that their world was built on danger, but they also knew they had each other—and that was enough to keep them pushing forward, together, and very much alive.

Hey! So you came back? I'm so glad! Welcome back! I admit I think alot of us has missed you...or atleast me lmao! Sorry if that sounded selfish or something! Anyway what about royalty with a villian S/O?

Yeah we back! Well... I'm back at least! I'll ask Mod Dash if he still wants in on this! Don't worry! You're not being selfish!

Mayapple: She's been getting kidnapped for six years straight, villains aren't scary to her anymore. Just mildly annoying when she's trying to work. She still loves you!!! She just wishes you didn't break the rules and kidnap her instead of kidnapping your own princess.

Apoidea: She scolded you at first for not telling her when you first started dating, but accepted it. She's a real stickler for the rules so she's just yelling at you while over your shoulder.

Ariella: "'m I supposed to care? Psh. I don't care." Like she says, she just doesn't care. You're even MORE fun to monster hunt with, since you have all those gadgets with you.

Malachite: He's all dramatic about it. "Oh darling why wouldn't you tell me this before?!" Back of his hand on his forehead thing and everything. Then he's like whatever. Still loves you of course.

Tephra: "look me in eyes, remember who I am, then tell me that again." Honestly I don't know what you expected. She's also technically a villain. So yeah she'll team up- I mean YOU'LL team up with her and then rule the world the end.

Foxglove: she just told you she's not into that. She's got a struggling kingdom on her hands, she doesn't have time for your childish games.

Dating headcanon (Kapt's part)

Malice:

Snarky to be completely honest! Random kisses are definitely a thing in this arrangement with the witch woman! Cuddling is sort of rare, but when it happens she is the big spoon on most occasions! Loves to embarrass you.

Becky:

She probably got with you as a business arrangement for her own personal gain, but slowly fell for you. Surprisingly easy to fluster! Of course she doesn't make it obvious and just scolds you. Cuddling is, like Malice, very rare! As in, when the planets are perfectly aligned. She always makes it low key though, like putting her leg on yours or just scooting up next to you until your arms touch.

Kaptain Man:

A sweetheart oh my god. Definitely buys you "no occasion" flowers with poetic notes attached to them. This guy's got a way with words not gonna lie! DEFINITELY sings to you sometimes and flies you (with your permission) around sukochi, holding you tightly in his arms! Cuddling is quite common but that doesn't make it any less meaningful! He doesn't care if he's the big spoon or little spoon, just as long as he's with you!

Mayapple:

Another sweetie! She always gives you a "goodbye honey, I'm going to work" kiss in the morning! She might be busy most of the time but that won't stop her from being lovey dovey with you! She also LOVES hearing about your day and listening to you ramble at dinner. Cuddles are a must, and she's the little spoon mostly!

Ariella:

I hope you like monster hunting! Because that's the thing she loves to do with you! That was probably y'all's first date too! She may be short but she'll climb you like a tree just to give you a kiss! Cuddles happen every other day and they usually start from roughhousing! She's the big spoon, she refuses to be anything other.

Malachite:

Hoo you're in for a ride! He's a very spicy and passionate lover! Loves giving you gifts and spoiling you with affection and kisses, so basically a sugar daddy but more meaningful! Loves singing you to sleep, his voice is strangely hypnotic! Cuddles are either really snuggly or really spicy. He's the big spoon, mostly because of his height.

Tephra:

You're also in for a ride here! All aboard the "big meaty claws" train! She is very unaffectionate in public, mostly because she has a reputation to uphold, but when y'all are alone? There's a slight shift! Short kisses, and brief embraces. Very embarrassed when you tell her you love her. Basically a big strong tsundere! Cuddles are very rare too. Sometimes she grabs you and hugs you like a teddy bear in her sleep (*squeaky toy noise*), so she's the big spoon!

Ben:

Very shy! He's the worry wart in the relationship, always asking if you're ok if you look upset. He absolutely loves affection, he's just too embarrassed to show you affection most of the time. So you kinda have to initiate cuddle time, speaking of which. He's the little spoon.

so i recently developed a mild obsession with a game called Nefarious and just had a cute/sad headcanon.

Prince Malachite has the Winterdown National Anthem on his phone and before the events of the game, usually in the middle of the night or when he knows he won’t be interrupted, he put headphones on and listened to it, mouthing Princess Ariella’s name to himself, wishing the war between their people could end and he could at least talk to her.
