wdy think of people who try to undermine the casual route boys' personalities/character and importance in the game ? im just curious as someone who loves them dearly and has seen them being compared to deep route boys in really mean fashion hh

ive never really seen this discourse so i’m not really sure, actually! you’ll prolly have to fill me in on the details but while i can understand getting that impression from the depth of writing (casual story routes were probably written before deep story, so cheritz had less time w the characters and the writing is weaker), it rly... isnt pleasant to see zen condensed into asshole narcissist man or yoosung the cousin complex guy or jaehee the bland assistant woman and im ALSO talking about cheritz here because some of the character work during the casual routes is me writing pokemon fanfiction at the age of 10
